Pom mask tag
Elizabeth N.

I ordered a variety face masks for my family to wear during the Covid 19 pandemic from Sue Patrick and was pleased with the speedy shipping and delivery of my purchase. I was disappointed when I opened the burnt orange Pom masks that were supposed to be for my two children attending UT. The masks felt very light weight so I wondered if they would do much to protect my children and those around them at school. I looked on the manufacturer's tag and it says "This product is NOT meant to filter air, but rather to restrict hand to face contact" it also says that it is UPF 50+. The front of the tag says "adorable way to protect your face". I decided to return the masks because they will not serve my intended purpose. After I packed them up, I decided it would be the responsible thing to do to alert Sue Patrick that these masks are of no real use during a pandemic, so I emailed Jay. I asked him to please consider adding into the description on their website that the masks do not filter air and are only to prevent hand to face contact. He replied and said he would send me a shipping label. I wrote to him again and asked for him to please edit the description on their site. He said the masks follow CDC guidelines. I told him this is misleading because they don't protect anyone from anything. I decided to write a review of the masks so I could warn customers that these masks don't filter air. I also left a comment on their Instagram post of these masks warning the public that these do not protect people. They took the entire post down, not just my comment. They also refuse to let my product review be published. After my reviews a woman named Jill Scott emailed me and told me that the description on their website was straight from the manufacturer and I should take up my complaint with them. I let her know I don't have a problem with the manufacturer since their tag is what told me the truth about the product. It's Sue Patrick I have a problem with because they won't edit the description of the masks, want to be argumentative with me, shift blame to the manufacturer, and take down my reviews and comment on the product. They could have used all that time to just edit their description on the site! They just lost a customer. Too bad because I have two UT students and we probably would have bought lots and lots of UT merchandise from this store.

Sue Patrick is an interesting store. It's a family-owned operation, but it's also a department store. Strange. On one hand, I give this Burnet Road store props for beating the odds and holding tight to a successful independent business for over 30 years (since 1975). On the other hand...well....I'm not sure how they did it! Sue's stock is pretty typical - men's and women's apparel, a small amount of home decor, a jewelry counter, and a massive collection of "officially licensed" UT Longhorn paraphernalia. Think men's dress shirts, women's casual and professional wear, and every possible piece of burnt orange merchandise you could possibly dream up. It's a bit overwhelming, actually. I enjoy perusing the store on the off chance that I'll find something unique and memorable, but the truth is, the only reason to shop at Sue Patrick is to support your local business. And maybe because the atmosphere is hometown homey. The prices are fair, but no basement bargains here. Oh yeah....they also have one-of-a-kind Austin sno-globes that I haven't seen anywhere else. Very cool. Easy to find on Burnet Road with a big sign...you can't miss it. Sue Patrick is maybe worth a visit. Definitely worth it for Longhorn fans.

Great place to buy UT shirts and items like that for game day. Hours sometimes unpredictable, but overall good place.

Whomever this person actually is, is completely unaware of where my apartment is. As I'm walking along the entire street, which is almost two miles long, I only try one mile first because it's 101 degrees air temp. Thankfully I found my webcam in after one mile (but two up and back) but I am frantically trying to match offices or anything to this picture because I really don't want it to get damaged or STOLEN because it's not at my door. There's no code, the numbers are obvious and at least it could've been outside the leasing office. It was outside a leasing office one mile away. She needs to actually learn numbers on her route. I say this because I have been a delivery driver several times. She should've reached out for help. If this was something that had to be refrigerated...ice cream, I'd be livid but that's incredible because the office isn't responsible either, so they probably wouldn't have even told me. This is ridiculous because I have two other orders coming. I have already reached out to "corporate"...I know they don't care...but mistake that I trusted Walmart just to save a few dollars. My mistake, it's my fault apparently.

It's not a healthy obsession by any means but I can't help that every time I come to this location, I seriously leave with at least $50-$100 worth of stuff. Sometimes it doesn't make sense but when it's in front of me, I'm like I totally need this in my life. There's a particular brand of candles and home decor this location carries that is my secret go-to moment. I know the full retail value of them and it blows my mind how I can grab a $50+ candle for only $8. If you see me with 8 candles at once... no you didn't lol. Now Ross is more of a shop where you have to spend time to find the goodie (Not Ciara's goodies but similar). They have bathrooms here and they're super clean just fyi! I also come here for the bamboo thread calvin klein pillows and serta pillows for cool temp control. They're divine!

Now the female security lady was smiling each way and was talking to you if you had a question or just small talk . Alright, so it took me about six years to return to this place because I had some major PTSD from…read morean employee (who still happens to work here unfortunately). However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal
