Terrible service. Walked in just before 7pm yesterday and nobody was at the counter, just heard someone doing something in the back. We stood there for about 5 minutes, verbally attempted to get the attention of the girl that was in the back (who I could see) multiple times and she just ignored us. Ended up just leaving because she wouldn't respond to us which was extremely frustrating. I don't know if she chose to ignore us or was just that oblivious to her surroundings but either way it's just inappropriate. The two times my boyfriend has been in there and actually managed to get sandwiches the employees were rude and didn't seem to care that much about their jobs. Not sure why the manager/owner has such lousy people employed there but they really need to hire better people that actually value their jobs and how the business is perceived by customers. read more

I'm originally from the east coast so my sub/Hoagie expectations are high. Initially I was going to go to Jersey Mikes but when I pulled up yelp they were 3.9 stars and Subs n Stuff was 4. Furthermore, they were a small mom & pops shop and only 2 min away from my destination. "Let me support" is what I said to myself. I ordered 2 Turkey Clubs with double meat on both (extra $5 each) extra mayo, add oil & vinegar keep everything in it but light onions. What did I get????? The smallest amount of meat ever (Like I said half the meat - not double), extra onions, very light mayo, no oil & vinegar whatsoever! Turkey bacon was soft, sub was dry, just the worst all around. Saw this place on Yelp so decided to check it out. I ordered the Maverick which is a signature sandwich with all the meats and my wife the pastrami. The lady told me it would take 30 to 45 minutes to make my sandwich which I thought was a ridiculous amount of time but I wasn't in a rush. It only took about 15 minutes to get both of our sandwiches. My wife got hers first, she thought it was ok. The owner was talking very loudly on his phone which I thought was very rude. He came over and started telling us about his store and how great it was and so much better than every other chain sandwich shop we've tried. He was very abrasive and kept talking even after I got my sandwich and was waiting for me to try it to see what I thought. After I tried it he was adamant that it was the best sandwich id ever tasted and I told him it wasn't then he said it wasn't supposed to be the best tasting but have the most meat. There was a family that came in to order and the lady gave them the same time frame for making sandwiches but there wasn't anybody else in there but us. And when asked about making a veggie sandwich which should take far less time to make the lady told the family she would have to shut down the store in order to go get the vegetables to make the sandwhich. This place is phenomenal. The sandwiches are top notch, the meats are fresh, and the selection is incredible. Some of the sandwiches take a bit of time, so I would recommend calling ahead (worth the wait regardless). While it's super convenient for anyone that works in the Mandalay Towers or locally in Las Colinas for walking, parking is a bit a nuisance; but this is out of control of the restaurant to a degree. I've had some mistakes on my sandwiches but they're prompt to fix them and make sure you're totally satisfied before leaving! Make sure to sample some of their other items when you visit like the soup or cookies, because it's all great. While other reviews may say the owners are abrasive, you must take that as a grain of salt. They're proud of their restaurant and the food they provide, and they stand behind their products. I would rather an owner who's proud of his food come talk to me and make sure it's all great, than an owner hide in the back and just assume all customers are happy. Overall a gem in Las Colinas. Ps. Guys, I hate writing bad reviews, but unfortunately I am too upset to let this one go. This was my second time visiting, but very well may be my last. We asked the owner what's your most popular sub? He tries to explain to us that somehow all his subs are the most popular subs. That has to be the most unhelpful answer anyone has ever given me. Next he goes on a rant about how he has the best Facebook and Yelp reviews. I'm thinking to myself, I'm already at your store, I don't really care about your reviews at this point. After that he tells us he has 99 house made sauces which are supposed to be featured on shark tank and he's sold 90,000 bottles so far. He told us the exact same thing when I was there 3 years ago. I'm sure he's gonna make it any day now.... He kept talking so much non sense, I honestly couldn't even think about what to order. Next my friend wanted a tuna sandwich. The owner took a lot of offense to that. They serve both Zabiha and non Zabiha meat so the owner asked, do you not trust that I serve Zabiha meat, that is the only reason anyone would order tuna? My friend felt uncomfortable and ended up getting some other sandwich. Some of us then ordered a sandwich that was going to take 30 minutes to make. After ordering it, he gets a line out the door with customers. Then he tells us, he can't make that sandwich anymore because he has too many customers and he needs to get everyone else's sandwich made, so he made us change our order. After we sat down he told us that the girl at the register charged us incorrectly and we will have to redo our entire transaction. He kept blaming the girl in front of all the customers. She was new and there was no reason to keep badgering her about it in front of everyone. I really felt bad for her, and I hope she finds a better place to work soon. We got our sandwiches, and they weren't bad, but they had potential to be much better. Most of the sandwiches were extremely dry and some of the breads came out too crunchy and hard, while others, barely toasted. I tried some of the sauces he had, but I wasn't impressed by any of them and they didn't help with the dryness. I then asked the owner if he had chipotle mayo or something, and the owner again got really offended. For about a solid 45 seconds he talked about how he would never have a mayo or ranch based sauce. No one really cared for anything he had to say, but unfortunately no one asked him to just stop talking. I was sitting back at my seat when he brings one of his sauces around and says something about it being better than a chipotle mayo. I told him it's ok I didn't want any, but he refused to listen and poured it on my tray. I ended up trying it, but it was the most unsatisfying sauce of his I tried. This owner was one of the worst owners I have ever encountered. I am so surprised this place is still in business. Maybe customers go when the owner is not there because that's the only way I'd ever consider going back. Arrived at 1pm on Sunday. There was only 1 person both working the cash register and making sandwiches. With only one person in line in front of us it still took almost 20min of waiting before we placed our order. My wife ordered the Roast Beef and I tried to order The Ranger. I was told it would take over 30 minutes for The Ranger as it takes a long time to make. They suggested the Ham, Turkey, and Roast Beef as a substitute but that has only 4 less ingredients. I am not sure why it takes so long to make The Ranger and I understand even less why you would have a cold sub sandwich, which takes 30 minutes to make, on your menu. All told from the time we walked in until we got our food was 40 minutes and that is because we didn't order The Ranger. This place needs some serious help. read more

When you first walk in it can be a bit overwhelming as you take in the vast menu that they have. I was fortunate enough to be in line next to several regulars who were happy to share info on what their favorite sandwiches were, so when they called on me I knew the direction I was going. This place is a small restaurant so come early as it gets packed! They have a huge selection of sandwiches along with a variety of breads and salads. I ordered their special of the day which happened to be the spicy mango grilled chicken sandwich. The guy knew I was new, so he let me try the chicken first. It was really good. For about $8, you get a full sandwich with chips and a drink. The full sandwiches are big, I was only able to eat half of it. The chicken was tender and filled with flavor. I feel like I've eaten here enough to finally write a review. Subz n stuff is straight up an average sandwich place, I feel like maybe the great reviews are because it's the only local sandwich place in Irving. The great reviews boggle my mind and let me tell you why. All sandwiches have the exact same average toppings: smoked provolone (why is the same cheese on every sandwich?), iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, Mayo mustard and oil and vinegar. Ok so nothing special there. They slice their own meat, that's cool I guess. The only sandwich that I think is above average sometimes is the special. The special is ALWAYS the exact same, grilled chicken, the usually sandwich topping, maybe a creative bread + a special sauce. The special sauce makes the sandwich because I like a lot of his sauces. But here's the kicker that drives me crazy. So the guy can be abrasive during non-covid times which I always thought was quirky but whatever. Now if you call during lunch to ask what the special is, they aren't allowed to tel you on the phone! So you either have to just order it and hope it's a sauce you like OR go there an hope it's a sauce you like? Not sure why they are doing this but I'm taking my business elsewhere because if it's like roulette since I don't know what I'm going to get. I'll take my business elsewhere. One of those people who you wonder how they could be so happy and positive all the time! Every time I go I'm greeted so warmly, and my choice of sandwich is always followed by a quip or comment about why that's a great choice for that specific day. After checking into the Omni hotel, and not really wanting to get back into the car to look for food, spotted this sub shop from my room. A quick trek across the street and thinking it would be empty on a Saturday afternoon (this is a business district after all) found a line to the door. Even with the crowd, was welcomed and greeted, allowing me time to review their menu. I "settled" on the Maverick which pretty much has every available type of meat and cheese on it (provolone, Swiss, cheddar cheese, ham, pastrami, turkey, cotto salami, bologna, pepperoni, gallo salami, roast beef). Since this isn't a "Subway-style" production line, expect a slight wait for your order which is more than worth it. Really an amazing sub - everything was fresh - but the dozens of sauces you can add takes it to a whole different level. Add a bag of Zapps potato chips and you're set. My husband works in Irving so he told me about this place where him and his co workers go pretty often. They have validation cards if you park in the nearby garage. I ordered the Philly steak. The meat was good, assembly was on point and the wheat bread was delish! I grabbed chips and drink to go with it. They make their own hot sauces and so many choices! My husband loves all things spicy so i took it upon myself to give him the chipotle habanero and he said it was really spicy but yet so full of flavor. I have been here only one time but I already love this place. I stopped by after 2pm on a Monday to no lines. The guy working there was very sociable and gives great recommendations on all of the subs. As for variety Subz N Stuff has plenty of it! anything you order will be great. if you don't think it is let them know. I ordered a 47 (kabob) which filled me up and tasted great. As for the variety of sauces I suggest you try multiple sauces to dip your sub in. Warning Some are EXTREMELY hot! Some not so much. Half the adventure is paring the sauce with a great sub without burning your taste buds off in the process. Each sauce "goes"with a few subs. My only complaint would be that the earlier shift who works there shafts the later crew by not keeping the drink station full. The ice tea is not "out of order" it just needs to have its syrup container refilled. Word of advice, if you order a "Maverick" order it ahead of time. If you don't you will make your lunch break an extra 20-40 mins depending how busy they are. Also get a stamp card. If you fill up 15x's you get a free sub ANY size.
