I really don't like sandwiches. Just something about taking a bunch of random stuff and throwing it between bread that leaves me cold. That said, I LOVE this place. I started coming to Irving a couple of years ago on business. There was no cafeteria in our building, but I saw a sandwich shop next door and figured it was better than nothing. I started going there due to lack of quick options, but kept going back because of their amazing service and excellent sandwiches. My favorite is the Desperado: turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sauce. Their sandwiches are always extremely fresh and range from standard fare to more unique combinations. For months I never ordered anything other than my trust Desperado, but finally decided to branch out a bit. They recently started serving a Doner Kebap that takes me back to the ones I used to get from street vendors when I lived in Germany...fantastic. You can't go wrong with the food, but what also sets them apart is the customer service. They remember your name, your order and pretty much anything you may mention to them when you're there. They also take a ton of pride in their food and will happily tell you how fresh it all is and extol the virtues of any new menu items. I eventually moved to Dallas after coming here so much on business, but my new job was in a different location. I truly missed this place and am told that after I left they would periodically ask my colleagues about me when they came in. After a year or so I was told my team was being moved back to the old location and one of my very first thoughts was "good...now i can eat at Subz N Stuff again! " I was not at all surprised when I walked in the door after about a year's absence and was instantly greeted by name and asked if they could get started on a Desperado, hold the lettuce and mayo. So if you match this place up to any sub shop anywhere, it's going to be tough to beat. **I went the #1 (out of 50 or more), a standard-issue italian sub, and it was perfect. **The owner who takes your order, takes your name on your ticket, and makes it a point to refer to you by name at least 3 times before you leave. **There's an array of homemade sauces (e.g., Chipotle Horseradish, Tamarind) that were excellent. **Irving has this cool lunchtime lightrail car that stops right next door to here. This is a pretty good sub place! The family who owns it is super nice and when I came here my first time they were very helpful. I got the Sub Italiano. It was pretty good, but in the sub there was huge pieces of red onion, and some uncut clusters. It's pretty bad when you bite in and get a huge onion, kind of takes away from the rest of the sandwich. Other wise the sandwich was pretty good. I got my sandwich on wheat, and its no subway wheat, it tastes very distinct. Taste like a legit wheat sub. This place is quick and easy. The sandwiches are good all made fresh. I haven't been in a while because they are always busy and there is very limited seating. The owners are so nice, they remember all of their regular customers and will ask you if don't seem familiar to them. I got the special delicious grilled chicken and some really, really spicy mango habenaro sauce. I am at war with myself here. The food is amazing. No doubt about it: they have made a sandwich (most common food item that feels very 1 dimensional) and create these entrees that are all unique. Jami, the owner, makes it very clear that the special is ALWAYS different. To me, that is amazing....I buy some meat and cheese and can make 1 kind of sandwich - these guys are for real. The sauces are really great and very flavorful. My issue, and the conflict I am having stems from the atmosphere. I get that they want to make this the kind of deli where you're instant friends with the owners and staff, and you go 2 or 3 times a week to have a great meal. THIS IS NOT THAT! I am sorry, but it will never be that. I preface the following remark with the fact that I am not a reserved person, I am just a grown man who has self respect enough to not yell accross people enjoying their food, all while I am half way chomping down on some turkey pastrami. The truth is, from the moment you walk in, you are yelled at "HELLO!" You shuffle in the line that is always too long to not rub elbows with everyone else. When you get to be one of the first few in line, you get yelled at, "what can I get you boss!?" Then you are expected to YELL your order. DO NOT GET SPECIFIC! I tried to say, "chicken club with no mayo, and no tomato" He yelled back, "No, you don't do that. I just take your order and she (his wife) will take the rest." -----Pause----- How will you take my order, and leave out common condiments without letting me say that you should probably forgo the mayo??????? It is like this EVERY time. I have been 5 or 6 times.....VERY ANNOYING to have to yell even a simple order without exceptions, then have to carry on this conversation across the freaking deli. I have resorted to calling ahead and having someone else pick it up....Then I get the food without the experience. I work close and EVERYONE feels the same way....getting to the point where we stop going. Last thing: They will remember your name, they will recognize you, they do it with everyone BUT ME, haha. I don't know what it is, but they CANNOT get my name down, and it causes a stupid conversation of, "oh, I feel like I know you...oh, is your name something like .....you have been here before, right...." I'm a hijabi woman. I come here quite often. However, I noticed that the predominant customer base is white males. I ordered my sandwich ahead so I can be able to get in and get out. I found myself waiting for an hour for it to be done. As I was waiting, I noticed others were serviced before I was and their sandwich made in a timely manner. After finally waiting indoors making my present apparent others walked in and had their sandwich made almost immediately whilst me waiting there. I am so disappointed because the quality of their food is wonderful and I try to support to them especially during these hard times due to the pandemic. The subs are good, but the last time I went made me never want to come back. I had a craving for meatball..ordered a meatball, got a chicken sub with mayo. I am not a fan of mayo. Because I was on my lunch break and it already took a HUGE chunk of my hour break waiting, I could go back. I called to let them know of the mistake, the first response was that the sub they gave me was good so I should eat that one...humm not the point, as that's not what I order.. next was ok bring it back and we will get your other one...no time to bring it back now and im not carrying around a sub until I want to come back for an "exchange" , so then it turned into my name being put on a list for Monday to get my replacement. Cool..but Monday was a holiday and im not going into work so no thanks. Wasn't worth trying to keep fighting for what I ordered. The time before that where it's was through a delivery app, the sub was good. That last time where we went in was bad. I started working in VHA Place in mid-July of this year. Being new, I was unfamiliar with the setting and the environment. I asked around and my manager told me about Subz N Stuff. I checked it out and headed on over there around 11:30 to try and get an early lunch in. I walked over (took me about 2 minutes on foot). I got there and once I could see through the tinted windows, all I saw were tons of people. It was absolutely packed. I thought "wow, this place must be good." The moment I stepped into the door, the owner greeted me openly which surprised me. He was genuine, too. The sandwich was awesome. I especially liked how you can customize it how ever you want. It's almost like the menu is just a template or a guide line to give you ideas. I saw the price that I was paying for the sandwich and expected this small round fast-food-type sandwich to be plopped down in front of me. Man, the size of these sandwiches put Blimpie, Subway, Jason's Deli, and Quiznos to shame. Not only was it bigger, it was tastier. I can't fix myself a better tasting sandwich at home. I'm VERY particular about what I put inside of my body so I asked about the ingredients he uses and the guy knew his stuff. The cool thing about this place is that the owner confirms what you want before and after the sandwich is made. I ate there and then had to get back but the owner was sure to ask me how the sandwich was and thank me. Very cool guy. I came in a week later at lunch time and it was hoppin' as usual. The owner immediately greeted me by name when he saw me walk in. I was hooked from then on. I go there about 4-5 times a week now for either breakfast, lunch, or dinner since they're open until 8pm. (Yes, I'm a workaholic.) :) The owner told me that they are installing free WiFi before November gets here so that'll be cool as well. A TV with sports on may be on the way, too. He also told me that they are using waiter.com for deliveries now. He's very passionate about his place and friendly which makes it an even better experience to drop by and get a sandwich. read more

Don't get me wrong, I will always have love for Firehouse subs, but they are now *firmly* in the number 2 spot because of this place. - The owner is super friendly - the meats used in the subs are sliced right then, deli style, and they are super tender and tasty - the entire shop has amazing variety: subs, chips, drinks, house-made sauces, etc. I love having more than 5 choices! This place has some really good subs. Like real good, probably the best subs I've ever had. The staff made an effort to go above and beyond, a trait rarely scene at at a fast food type of place. The owner is incredibly rude. We were rushed to order, but the displayed menu doesn't have their salads listed. How can a customer order when the menu doesn't list what you offer. My friend asked what something behind the counter was, and she was told to "read the specials." We were the only ones there, but he couldn't be bothered to help his customers. A normal restaurant has plenty of options available during all operating hours. They are also not accommodating if they don't have what you want. This is an AMAZING restaurant...and I haven't even tried all the delicious sandwiches they offer. We visited on a Sunday afternoon which was great because they weren't crowded at all. My boyfriend had been raving about this place forever, and I'm so glad I finally got to visit!! You have to talk to the owner, Jami (who somehow knows everyone by name) and get his recommendation. He personally comes up with the recipes for the sauces, which are absolutely delicious - be sure to try all the ones you think sound interesting. You won't be sorry. Ok so I've been coming to Subz N Stuff for about 10 years and I have never had a bad experience or sandwich. Jami always remembers my order and both he and Suzi know my name when I walk in the door. it's much like Cheer's when Norm walks in. Anyway the bread is always fresh and the portions are healthy. If you are going to order the Maverick I would call ahead, it seriously tales a while to make and he is not going to make you wait if he has a line out the door. I suggest getting there early or after the lunch rush if you want the Maverick. The restaurant is not huge and during the rush the line is out the door. it is seriously worth the wait, and if there is no place to sit I'll take my sandwich outside. On a side note I notice at other sub shops I feel bloated from the sodium but not from Subz N Stuff. I love this place and I make it my only stop for subs. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. Came here for the first time since April, 2014 (my last visit to Dallas) and not only did Jami (the owner) remember my name, but also gave me a welcome to Dallas meal on the house! Some items to note about this restaurant: - cold cuts are fresh and nicely cut - sandwiches are neat and nicely packed - love the variety; I think 30 sandwiches, 90 sauces, lots of chips, a ton of drinks - very clean and good space for the area - can get half and full sandwiches depending on your need Not only are the sandwiches very good, but the sandwiches are made with love. The perfect proof is that you can see them making it while you wait for your order. Plus almost every sandwich is less than $10, so you really can't beat that. This is a must visit when coming to Dallas. My friends and I always visit when we're in town. If you any questions or concerns, just ask the staff and they will politely take care of it. The moment, my fiancé and I walked into the shop, we were welcomed with warm greetings with Suzy (Susie) & Johnny asking us for our names. They made sure we picked the right sandwich and fit to our mood and previous "sandwich experience. We went with the Malibu and Meatball sub. We were NOT disappointed! The bread was fresh, meat was moist, fresh vegetables, etc. We highly recommend getting one of their 99 homemade sauces. It made the sandwiches 10x's better! We ate their for 10-15 minutes and listened to their interactions with the customers and loved every minute of it. I'm not guaranteeing this but they remembered names, regular orders. You would hear them pick up the phone and say "Oh it's Dan, do you want the usual?". Great customer service is hard to come by and it was very enjoyable b/c the food was great too! Came to order some halal subs from Subs and stuff. We ordered their turkey, roast beef, club ciabatta, and Philly cheese. Each of the samdwiches was delicious. The location of the restaurant is great too. It's in the heart of Last Colinas with lots of shops and commercial area nearby.
