i've gone to this Subway for years. I had the weirdest experience that I can't shake. I ordered a 6" online. I went to pick it up and they hand me a bag with a foot long. Concerned they may have given me someone elses sandwich i pointed it out to the employee (i think shes family of the owner or the owner). She opened the wrapper looked to verify the sandwhich was what I ordered and told me i could pay the difference and get both portions. I had no money and told her I wasnt going to buy the mistakenly made other half. She wrapped up half put it in my bag and then wrapped up the other sandwich, complete with sticker and set it aside. The not giving me both as a thank you for being a regular was odd but okay but what she is going to do with this extra half freaked me out. I mean what is she planning to do with this other half? Is some other customer going to get this? Are they going to remove my toppings and add whatever the new customer wants? It was so weird. I started wondering what I get when I order online. Needless to say I will no longer order online. I want to be there and physcially be there to supervise how my sandwich is made. It's subway, and not much can be said they're pretty consistent with their food. But this one was offering some of the new offerings of the footlong cookie the footlong churro and the footlong Dipper I went ahead and got the footlong cookie, it was fresh and delicious. The bread smelled really good in there, I have to check next time to see if they will just sell the bread because I do enjoy some buttered bread at night. We usually enjoy Subway however we don't patronize all subways in Modesto there not all the same n it's not for the best. We usually go to Subways on Standiford in the Save Mart Center. WOW! The portioning of the lunch meat was bad n some of the produce was old example the avocado was turning black the service person said, I'll cut around the block part n she put it in my sandwich the service girl refused to give my wife avocado because the avocado was bad so, I was the genuine pig. I had a Turkey Sandwich Ft Long. I could barely eat the first half it didn't taste right but my first bite of the second half of the sandwich. I told my wife that's it something wrong with the Turkey! I told the service girl the Turkey is bad n she explained that she cut the Turkey herself, I explained to the girl that just because she sliced the Turkey herself doesn't mean nothing wrong with the Turkey she took my sandwich back after one bite n removed the Turkey n replaced it with Cold Cuts which was better, I couldn't believe she took my eaten sandwich n removed the Turkey n replaced it with different cold cut. They do have a lot of homeless people hanging out in front asking for food, but just be respectful towards them because they are humans down on their luck. I really enjoy this location. There is so much cleaner than other establishments I have been to by this chain. During the writing of this review a worker is clean. The tables are very clean, the food is as good as any other subway restaurant so I guess that doesn't really matter. Worst experience ever in subway. They ripped me off. The size of sandwich appeared a normal size but then when they cook it for you, they don't put no thought into it and they cook it really bad . Mine had too much oil, bearly a slice of salami ,no cheese And Taste really bad don't recommend at all. The size of the actual sandwich was less than 1/3 of my hand. Worst Subway experience ever , this place had no bread on a Wednesday at 2:00pm laughed about it offered us flat bread. They had two 6" pieces of bread left so we decided to go with that. When they prepared it the spoke about how the business that they are working in is lacking management , right in front of us . Upon preparing the sandwich they cross contaminated the raw chicken with other veggies and (threw) it together broke up the red onions and just talked to each other about how no one does anything their... in front of us the customers. Horrible service. Very dirty location and the staff was unbearable. They ran out of bread. They only had flat bread available. Mind you this is a sandwich spot i dont know how this happened. We had to wait for the staff to finish their conversation before we were attended. The staff was very negligent on safety health procedures and cross contamination, the woman making my sandwich was using the same gloves for the meat and veggies and then used the same gloves to make my husbands sandwich. The woman also began to cut up and break apart the onion with her hands. The women working were complaining the entire time about how they never have bread or ingredients there. how has this subway gone so long without a review?! i don't think i've ever seen it empty during lunch time, and the bevy of electronic devices suggest that at least half the patrons are online... i guess most folks don't think to review fast food chains, but as we all know: all subways are not created equal. you know that weird subway you don't go to anymore? the one that makes you ask three times before you get enough pickle, where the bread is stale, the cheese is sweaty and the employees are standing on the wrong side of the sneeze guard? this is not that subway! the afternoon employees are pleasant and efficient. even with a line out the door they work together and get things done. my lunch has always been prepared to my liking and handed over with a smile and a thank you. the food has always seemed fresh and they've yet to run out of veggies or bread during my visits. my ONLY less-than-notable visit was during the evening when a solitary worker was on. she was not rude, but i was overcharged (by about $.70- not worth a fuss to me.) and I asked before ordering if she could accommodate my order, only to learn after paying that they were out of the soup i'd asked for. C'est la vie. that one evening visit took things down a star, but if you're there for lunch with their current staff, you can expect a four star visit. the store and tables have always been clean, the staff friendly, and the food fresh. it's not high cuisine, but dude, you just walked into a subway! and this shop is doing it right. read more

Since there is not much in downtown Modesto for a quick sandwich I find myself here about once a month. Normally the service is OK, food is OK but today was the worst yet. My chicken on the buffalo chicken sandwich was cold even after I asked for it to be warmed and toasted, the broccoli soup was not much more than pale colored water with some green flecks and I was not told until AFTER I paid for and filled up my cup of Diet Coke and noticed it was flat, that "yeah, we're waiting on the fizz guy." I love an expensive pair of sunglasses in another subway in town and couldn't find the number for the location, when I called this location the girl that answered the phone was very helpful and nice and helped me figure out which shop it actually was I had eaten at and then went to the trouble to get the phone number for me. The service is horrible. Instead of being greeted with a "hi how are you!" or a "hello, we will be right with you." I just got dirty glares. Then I said " Hi how are you today." and they looked at me like I was crazy and said "we will be with you in a minute." then the girl making my sandwich was so preoccupied with flirting with the construction workers that came in that she made the sandwiches wrong, then when she rang me up I had chips in my hand and she asked if it was just the chips and sandwiches and I said no with the drinks too and she rang me up and I paid her and then I asked what size drinks come with that and started to grab the cups and she said " oh, well I just rang you up for the sandwiches and chips but whatever my fault, go ahead and get the drinks." hmm well maybe if you weren't talking to your rude coworker about the construction workers while ringing me up you would've been paying attention to what you were actually suppose to be doing. read more
