Having grown up on Steak and Shake, I really don't care for steakburgers; way too thin for me. So thin that they're always dry and teetering on being charred if cooked for even a few seconds too long. However, while passing through on a business trip, I decided to give Culver's a chance, and boy was I glad I did. First off, this isn't really a steakburger like I know them. Yes, it's a thin patty, but not nearly as thin as a Steak and Shake burger. I ordered a triple and that thing was pretty thick. I could have easily gotten away with a double and been perfectly happy. As a precautionary measure I also ordered an onion ring and cheese curds in case the burger itself wasn't enough to satiate me. The onion rings were real onion rings and were delicious. Cheese curds were pretty awesome too. The real hero, as it should have been, was the ButterBurger. Juicy, fresh, and packed with delicious flavor. Because I'd eaten both side, I could only eat about half the burger in that one sitting, but it was incredible! I get it now. The Culver's ButterBurger is worth all the bragging I've ever heard about it.

However, while dining in for a quick bite, nothing from today's visit appeared to be fresh except the warm cookies that had come out of the oven. As I sat eating my 6 inch customized sub, I couldn't help but look around and notice how the tables & chairs weren't clean. The floor was even dirty. It seems like they just opened without cleaning up first. Or perhaps they closed the night before with it being dirty. In addition to the interior not being presentable, neither were the supposed to be fresh veggies. All of the veggies appeared to have a cloudy look and/or film. Makes me wonder if they were leftover from the day before or days. Or it could be a storing issue. Nevertheless, I had to request for my veggies to come from the bottom because I noticed the appearance was more pleasing and indeed looked fresh. Needless to say, when I got back to Indy around 3:00pm, I was starving. I was thankful that this Jersey Mike's opened up in this area about a year ago. I have visited this location a few times. I think the first time was just after they opened and I was headed to the Limp Bizkit show. (Note: probably one of the oddest shows I've ever been to. Plus: Corey Feldman! But Fred Durst killed it. And he stood on the stage after the show just soaking it all in and appreciating everyone who was there, waving and signing autographs. You could tell he didn't want to leave the stage. It was cool to see.) Anyway, it was a little hectic that first time I visited Jersey Mike's only being open a couple weeks and the manager was there coaching his team. I enjoyed witnessing that. Each time I've visited, the staff is very kind and helpful. They help you through the process and make sure your sandwich is made to perfection. Usually I like cold subs, bud I got the Big Kahuna Chicken Cheese (#55). Delicious. Fast forward to this evening (because I forgot to post this review earlier this week until I realized it was sitting in my Notes app. Oops!). My son had a golf match in Anderson, so we stopped in at Jersey Mike's. I went with the #55 once again. Still delicious with grilled chicken, onions, peppers and mushrooms with jalapeños. Shut the front door! The place is always clean and the staff were super patient with my daughters who wanted to order for themselves (which also included a ton of questions!). Jersey Mike's has become one of my favorite fast food sandwich shop chains.

Two months ago they charged my debit card 5 Times in less than a minute. Tonight I scanned two different debit card a total 5 times none of which were accepted. Both cards are very well funded we left and went to another restaurant in Greenfield and my card was accepted without a problem or any questions. There are 3 other McAlisters about the same distance from our home as the Greenfield location. They will be getting our business going forward

I do believe this is actually in Cumberland - so, technically, no Indy pothole jokes here. This location has both dine-in and drive-thru options. I hit the drive-thru, but then stuck around to actually eat my lunch. I snagged a $7 meal deal that included 3 chicken tenders, a small fries, a sundae, and a regular drink. You can upgrade to a small blizzard for $2 more. There aren't too many places you can eat for under a ten spot anymore - that's a definite plus. The service was solid. It wasn't anything remarkable, but the employee was friendly and timely. The food was solid. I always think it's weird to call a small dish of ice cream with a topping a "sundae," but I get the point and it is what I was craving. So, it was fine. I didn't see iced tea on the menu, a bit disappointing. Three Cumberland police officers were present. Business was steady throughout my visit. While this is Cumberland, it's really right on the line. I think right across the street is actually Indy. They do have accessible parking. Most DQ locations do accessibility fairly well. There's an outside dining option here, though it really wasn't warm enough today. I'm surprised I'd never reviewed this place. While I won't say I get here often, I often do stop in when I'm in the area. Overall, things were what I'd call "just fine." I'll definitely return - not because it's 5-star dining, but because it's a comfort spot with decent food at good prices and ice cream I get nostalgic for once in a while.
