Why does this McD's act like lunch is a surprise EVERYDAY??? I work in Knightstown and the lunch options here are minimal. When I do order from the McD's at the Love's Truck Stop, it should only take 15 minutes from leaving work, picking up food, (that I alway order on the app) and the drive back...giving me plenty of time to eat. This is the second time that I waited over 20 minutes for a filet o fish and a med. fries. I don't understand why they can't get it together...especially at lunch time. When I pulled up to the window, they said the filet had just dropped and it will be 2 minutes, and to pull over to spot 4 of mobile ordering and "it will be right out". After 12 minutes of waiting, and other orders coming out, after my order, I went inside to see what the hold up was. I was informed that they had to drop another filet. An additional 5 minutes inside gave me 9 minutes to get back to work and eat. Didn't happen. I got back to work and ate cold food at my desk. They need some intervention...... read more

Breakfast this morning was superb they were busy this am as truck stop locations usually are. Stopped for a quick pee and grab a sandwich before we continued on our way. I was asked while placing my order on the screen if I was finding everything alright; then when we were done we were greeted again and provided with our fountain cup. Once our order was called the kind lady told us fresh coffee was being made and we would have it momentarily and apologized for the wait. We decided to sit and eat while we waited; Caleb brought a larger cup of coffee for our wait and then swung back through to ensure everything with our order was good. When's the last time that's happened at a fast food place?!? We've stopped here before at lunch or dinner time and if I recall it was a train wreck; so perhaps they've got the kinks worked out and staff is working like a well oiled machine. I must say I'm impressed, haven't have service this good at a fast food joint inside the US since I was a kid probably. read more

I can't imagine working at this location. All of the customers are essentially jerks, but somehow the young man on the register this morning, just kept smiling and being pleasant as he did his job. The food was taking a while to come out and he took the brunt of the anger, but regardless of the fact that no one thanked him, or smiled at him, or was remotely pleasant to him, he kept smiling and giving great service. Stopped in here on the way to visit friends at Jellystone Park Campground Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised! We live in Greenfield and our McDonald's has been a horrible, hot mess since it opened;the food, the service and you name it. It was an awesome change to be greeted by the staff and with a smile! The food was all hot and fresh and the dining room was super clean. We were quite impressed by the cleanliness being as it's connected to the gas station and super busy. read more

It's very rare that I visit McDonalds and even more rare that I would actually have a good experience. I came to this Micky D's on my way to visit family in Ohio. It's one of those gas station/drive thru experiences. The drive thru is on the left side - which is a little strange... However, we ordered breakfast around noon and the guy taking our order was professional and quick. When we got our order, it was super quick, considering there were 4 cars before us. When we got to the window, the kid was very polite and even apologized for the wait. I was like... Uh... What wait? So that in and of itself impressed me! Great service! I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich along with an iced coffee. The sandwich actually looked like it could have been in a commercial vs. being slapped together which is my usual McDonalds experience. Lastly, the iced coffee was perfect! Everything in me wanted to give this place 3-4 stars but this location was on top of it! 5 stars it is. read more

I would give ZERO STARS if it were possible! As a truck driver, I frequent this Love's and swing between the McDonald's and Subway on a regular basis. I also stop at a lot of other truck stops and restaurants, but this McD's is by far the worst restaurant I've ever been to when it comes to slow service. Two days in a row this week I had to wait 10-15 minutes at the counter just for someone to come over and take my order. Then had to proceed to wait another 15-25 minutes just for them to get my 3 cheeseburgers and fries done. It was a 45 minute wait the first day. 25 minutes the second day. This is utterly ridiculous! I'm understanding, I've worked in fast food before. And so I would compliment the staff who were working diligently and hard, but none could be found here. Just employees mindlessly walking around leaving refrigerator doors open, going on break, complaining about living 3 hours away and only having 2 hours of sleep before their shift, messing up other people's orders, the equipment was broken or not properly maintained, etc... This might be understandable if the place were busy. But it really wasn't. If the owners see this review: Maybe it's time to hire some skilled managers for a change? read more

Your average McDonald's --there's only so much one can write but I felt inclined to post a review after a pretty sub-par customer service experience in the drive thru. This location is attached to a large semi-friendly gas/diesel station right off of I70 east of the Greenfield exit. I will admit that I was fairly confused by the layout of their drive thru and ended up driving all the way around the entire lot before figuring it out and from reading other reviews, it appears I'm not the only one to have had this issue. Once I uncovered the ordering station in the drive thru the person on the other end was either in training or fairly absent...I would order and then there was a long gap of them talking/not responding to me...followed by me asking "hello? did you get my order"...again, more banter, silence, delay. Most expensive McDonalds I have been to. They even charge extra for Nugget Sauce over 3. I get 5 sauces for a 20 PC nugget. Never been charged extra. Whole meal was @ $5 more. They didn't supply napkins. No one was happy about their service at the time I was there. There is a BK across the street. I recommend giving them a try instead. read more

Worst McDonalds ever! Out of Lg Cups today! Had to repeat my order multiple timrs for a drink, fries & salt packets. When I got to the food window I was there for 5 min with no acknowledgement. When I got my order finally with a smaller drink than I had wanted, the bag had zero salt packets PLUS zero napkins. I had to ask and even if the salt was net heard on the speaker a napkin should be protocol for all orders. Continually slow, disorganized and issues which is a shame. read more

I do not like leaving bad reviews...it takes a lot and multiple failures for me to do so.. so that being said. The staff is always friendly, the problem isn't the staff - the problem is the lack of staff. They are always short staffed - today when we came in we waited 5 minutes to order food. No one else was inside the area at all, only drive through. After ordering we received our food 21 minutes later....21 minutes - for a Big Mac meal and a 10 piece nugget meal. Short staffed - fine, I understand...but we waited 21 minutes for cold food. The nuggets were cold and the fries were cold. Last week in drive through I waited 15 minutes for 2 breakfast burritos....I had to actually come inside to get them because (lack of staff) The only reason I didn't give this location a 1 star was due to the staff. To the owner, If you are going to remain open, I would advise getting more employees to actually run the restaraunt. read more

Needs new management! Two or three times ago that they would drive through is so slow I ask for a manager, and African American woman came up annoyed and said that she was cooking and they're trying to hire more people and then that was the end. She never apologized my order was given to me wrong it took forever and I was well within my right to complain. I could not believe a manager did not apologize for the service and try and make it right. The store needs strong leadership and management to get the crew in shape. I have never seen them use the reserved spots for orders that take a long time. Instead Travelers or whomever just wanting to purchase a Coke sometimes wait 10-15 minutes will they get one slow order at the window. some of the people at the drive-thru are very friendly no I do not look at the staff as the problem as much as management. It is up to management to set the tone of the entire store. I say this as a former retail manager for years. I come to Knightstown often to water flowers at the local Cemetery so I stopped to get a Coke because it's hot and I'm thirsty and I regret it every time because it is so slow. A McDonald's at a truck stop gas station off of Highway needs to be fast for travelers or the locals as well.
