Snack Size Create Your Own Cold Dagwood
    Christina B.

I ordered for delivery and I was happy to see they offered snack-size options for sandwiches in addition to the regular small, medium, and large sizes. I had the create your own Dagwood and it was delicious. I'm not sure if I like fries with a cold sandwich, but they were crispy and fresh. The packaging was a little messy but that can always happen during the delivery too. I'd definitely order again.

This is my penn station location, come here a lot. I knew during covid they have had late hours compared to a lot of other "fast food" places, open till 10pm. I wanted to write this review regarding the awesome staff, that not only is awesome all the time, but especially awesome this last trip in. I came in lastnight after a vball game and it was about 5 till close. I already didn't want to be that person but also was hungry and knew that was one of the better options that were still open late. I came in and noticed they were already cleaning the grills and I asked if they would take another order and it was totally their call. A gentleman (that I wish i got his name) said to write down my name and a sandwich order and I could come in tomorrow (today) to get the sandwich for free. I came in today and everyone was on the same page and was expecting me. I gave the nice girl my order for the free sandwich and told her I wanted to add a few more things on to my order for someone else. She took that info too. I went to pay for the additional stuff outside of the free sandwich and she said that they were covering it all. I was not expecting that and kept asking if she was sure. I didn't think to get her name, but the ticket said Haley. I think it's incredibly ironic since that is also my name. I just wanted to share because you just never know what others are going through and that really meant more than just getting something at no charge. Thanks for staffing amazing people'

look at this awful sandwich. Not enough to feed a gnat

This comment is awaiting moderation Penn Station is a JOKE. It used to be the place to eat and get a great Philly. Not anymore. I went to the Penn Station on 56th and Georgetown in Indianapolis IN 46254 Store # 35. I got a snack Philly. What a joke?11 I thought Ashton Kutcher was going to appear. That snack was not big enough to feed a gnat. It had a teaspoon of meat, a splash of mayo, 2 banana peppers and 0 mushrooms. The small fry was old cold and full of crumbs. I am angry and disgusted. I paid 14.92 for some pure BS. Not five minutes after I ate I had to vomit and poop. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER ORDER PENN "AWFUL DISGUSTING, MAKE YOU POOP AND VOMIT" STATION AGAIN.

We were passing through Indianapolis and decided to stop in and grab lunch. This location seemed well organized with pick up and delivery orders. There are designated parking spots for pick up orders. There was a greeter at the door asking if you want to dine in or pick up your order. Employees seemed to have great team work and a system that flowed smoothly. Our order was brought out to us and not just shouted out and left on the counter. The food was hot, veggies were fresh and fries were delicious as always.

They were super delicious as usual!! I had to also place two separate orders because a friend called and I said of course I'll grab you pen station as well (lol)! So I placed their order and then had to place another order.. I ate inside the staff was very friendly and the food was great!!! I recommend the Philly cheesesteak yum! They were pretty busy but took them no time to fill the orders to go! Thank you kindly Penn Station Southport!! Don't forget to get a cookie too!

This place is always hit or miss for me. The food is generally pretty solid. Sometimes the fries are a little cold or floppy, or seem over-cooked, but I'm always happy with my sandwich. The issue I have is this particular location's decorum. On more than a rare occasion, employees have done something that I consider an egregious breach of etiquette, sometimes on the order of causing me to lose my appetite. Employees have had positively cruel conversations towards each other in front of a line. I saw them jam a tv remote into the ice chute to prop it open so that a mop bucket perched on the soda fountain surface could fill with ice, again in front of customers. I've seen a number of staff apparently on some sort of date while a single person took orders, made food, and rang in customers. Those are the worst. Typically they're just a little too obviously unhappy to be there, which I can understand, I suppose. I can certainly get past it and enjoy my meal. But the few times my stomach has been turned by a few poor representatives of the company have encouraged me to choose other locations. One thing I will say for them is that they're generally very clean and the good employees are great employees. It seems while many places are fairly even keeled, this place rides the crests and troughs of waves...that seafaring metaphor fell apart a little, but I think my point has been made. If you come here, get it to go, and be happy with your sandwich, a consistently yummy task.

The Dagwood as which is very good and has a huge selection of toppings!

Sandwich was great. However, fries were old. Too much money for old fries! Employee did not care.

It's very cool on the inside with vintage and Indiana-themed decor, tin ceilings, and, of course, a potbelly stove. The staff were friendly. But brother and I were very confused about the ordering process. There wasn't a lot of directional signage showing where to start and each step of the process. I watched a few other customers go through and they didn't seem like they had a problem so maybe it was just us. Next time I would probably just order online and pick it up so I could avoid the in-person ordering process altogether. I had the turkey sandwich and it was pretty good. I would say definitely a step up from your typical sub sandwich chain in terms of flavor and toppings options. I tried the chili mac as well. The chili is definitely à la Wendy's but I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese was good as well. I'd probably get either on its own but not together again. I also tried the Potbelly/Zapp's collab chips, the Hot Pepper flavor. They were good but are definitely not for everyone. When I visited, most of their fountain soda options were out of order so I settled on a no sugar added Pineapple Passionfruit juice/soda which was actually pretty good. We'll definitely be back - especially to try out their milkshakes!

I had passed this location on the way and thought I'd check them out since I had never had it. I got the Italian sandwich, brownie, and a side of the pepper relish. Big mistake. This has got to be the most broke tasting sandwich I've maybe ever eaten. It's giving armor meat sandwich for Panera prices. The ham gave Bar S and the salami gave budding. Just gross. I couldn't stand more than three bites and that was because I was starving. I threw almost this whole sandwich away. The brownie was pretty good and kind of reminded me of Chick-fil-A. That pepper relish was really delicious and all of the veggies were super fresh, but limited. You can miss me with that meat though. The bread wasn't that great either. I don't understand why people would come here when Penn Station is right across the street. The customer service was fine and the inside of the restaurant was clean enough. Food: We got a beef cheesesteak and an italian and definitely enjoyed the italian more. I think some of the problem is that they have relatively large rolls/bread which throws off the ratios and makes it feel skimpy. They either need to bake a 20% smaller roll or add 20% more protein to really make each bite satisfying. That said, the ingredients they use are actually good. I could actually taste the spiciness in the capicola and the salami had a nice rich flavor, they also topped the italian with a herby vinaigrette which was great. The fries are slightly more on the shoe string thinness which was fun but flavor was pretty standard. Overall this place isn't bad but it has some stiff competition, you get better price-performance from a cheaper chain and probably a better overall gourmet sub from Capriotti's which isn't that far although you'll probably pay 2x the price.
