The original doesn't come with anything extra saucy so I liked it because you can be intentional about how much you want on it. Teriyaki could be sometimes overwhelming. I went a little out of my way to stop by this Flame Broiler in Garden Grove since I was also planning to get a drink nearby. To celebrate the start of the college football season, Flame Broiler was offering 40% off plates, excluding the Korean BBQ Short Rib plate. Between bowls and plates, I prefer getting plates because they also come with a small cabbage salad as well as a half orange whereas bowls do not. This Flame Broiler in Garden Grove is located in Chiana Plaza on the southeast corner of Valley View and Chapman. It's the westernmost business in that plaza closest to Carl's Jr, which has its own lot. Soon after I came inside, there was a customer placing his order, which gave me time to think of what to get. Amongst the plates, I noticed that the Chicken was the cheapest at $12.15. The Tofu plate was 60 cents more, which I found odd because at the two locations closest to me, it's at most 30 cents more. However, they're also more expensive than this location by almost $2, so at least there's a good reason to drive further for this Flame Broiler lol. While I was waiting to order, I pulled out my calculator to determine that between the Chicken and Tofu plates, I'd still earn the same number of points after the 40% off, so I settled for the Chicken Plate. When it was my turn to order, I showed the 40% off a plate offer on my phone to the female employee at the front (Julie?), but she mentioned that particular deal would only work online despite the "Redeem in store" button on my phone. That confused me, but she also mentioned another customer was having trouble with a similar offer. At the locations closer to me, I'd usually provide my phone number, so I gave her my phone number to see if the 40% would come off. Sure enough, it did. I quickly paid, hoping that the register wouldn't reverse course, and asked how long I'd have to wait; Julie estimated about 5 minutes. I think it was more like 3 minutes, but during the short wait, I noticed the receipt had said "white rice" when I would have much preferred brown rice, which is way healthier than white rice. There were several customers who followed me inside, so I really didn't want to be that one customer to hold up the line. When Julie called my order number, I brought to her attention that I wanted brown rice instead of white rice. I almost thought she'd say "too late", but she was able to send my order back and tell the female chef in the kitchen to remake my plate using brown rice instead. I thought it would have been as simple as scooping brown rice onto another plate and emptying the contents from the first plate onto the second, but surprisingly, it was a longer wait than for the first plate! When Julie announced my number again, she asked which sauces I'd like, and I went with the usual one of each except for the Seoul Scorcher, which I must forewarn is not for the faint of heart. I also asked for a water cup. I took the plate to the table in the near corner, but once I removed the lid, I saw a gnat on the edge of the plate! I really didn't want them to remake my plate a third time, and I didn't see the gnat on the food, so I just kept it as is. The cabbage salad already had the sesame dressing on the salad as opposed to the dressing on the side like I usually see. However, the cabbage was finely chopped as if to look like very thin rice noodles. I felt there was less salad here than what I usually get. The half orange was cut up into thirds, which I'm not sure why they had to go through the trouble of that, but at least it did make peeling the orange a little easier? The brown rice, chicken, and steamed vegetables tasted fine for Flame Broiler's standards, but I didn't like how the brown rice was so clumpy. I have a feeling Julie assuming I wanted white rice instead of brown rice may have played a factor in this. I don't think I had ever seen brown rice this clumpy at any Flame Broiler location, and the oddity continued with some pieces of chicken being tough to chew, almost as if there were soft bones randomly in the chicken. But the worst part? The abundance of gnats inside. It was a pretty warm Saturday, and I saw a couple of ceiling fans spinning pretty fast. I had to keep an eye on the gnats and shoo them away pretty frequently while I was enjoying my Chicken plate. Needless to say, it got annoying. There was a steady flow of customers placing their orders, and I didn't recall Julie asking even one of them white rice or brown rice, so I suppose the norm here is that you have to specify "brown rice"; otherwise, it defaults to "white rice". Also, most of them ordered to go as there are only about five tables inside. Overall, I'd only consider a return visit for the lower prices. And I hope they realize that gnats aren't gnat a problem.

Used to come here 3 X week, great service, nice staff, food was always good. I got up to go to the bathroom and left my sunglasses on the table with no other people in the store at the time. I come out and there are four people in line for sandwiches and some tatted up gang banger pacing around the store drinking cold 45 and my sunglasses are missing. I asked the staff if the owner could check the cameras when they get in. I let it go until they left and asked the staff to have the owner call me about it two times. No return call. I could've identified the two incase there was a problem in the future. I don't care about the glasses at all. I witnessed a young family get hassled by one of the gangbangers as they left in their car. Good Luck read more

Not sure why this place gets good reviews. I mean the person who helped me(the bigger older lady) at about 12:30 today on 6/10 was rude! She didn't smile st all, made our sandwiches extremely slow, and had an attitude like she didn't want to be there. There was no line and 3 people working all girls. They didn't clean the lobby until we were sitting down. The food also was made very sloppily with the food spilling out and bad portioning. I wish I wouldn't have come here because it was just a really bad experience. Hopefully it was a 1 time thing but with the attitude she gave, I doubt it. In conclusion I would say avoid this location at all costs read more

I signed up for their rewards program as I placed my order online and ended up selecting their grilled chicken wrap with a side salad and a drink for 10 bucks (not a bad deal)! The wrap was fresh and tasty, and the salad was also fresh and a good size for a side salad. My order was packaged nice and neat. The store was very busy upon pick up, but very clean and was able to get in and out of there quickly (very congested area). The cashier who gave me my order was friendly and efficient and I grabbed my own fountain drink and on my way. Will definitely be back and looking forward to trying one of their burgers since it has been years that I've had one.

Also, when I got to my table, my table was dirty, so I had to clean it off myself. This is not the experience I want when I come here to eat. Somebody needs to see that these employees are not texting on their phones, make sure the employees are keeping the tables clean, and making sure customer service is always top priority. TOGO'S recently revamped their rewards program so that whenever you accumulate 50 points, you earn…read morea $5 off reward. Points round up if the subtotal ends in a half dollar or more. As part of this revamping process, TOGO'S migrated their rewards system to a different platform, and if you successfully migrated your account over, you get a $2 off reward that is valid for 2 weeks. My $2 off reward was going to expire in 2 days, and I was planning a quick trip to the area to visit a couple other businesses in the same intersection, both of which had offers that were going to expire the same day or the following day as well. I normally wouldn't go this far for a TOGO, but was definitely willing to make an exception this time around. This TOGO'S in Cypress is located on the southwest corner of Katella and Knott. The dining space inside is quite ample, much larger than the Long Beach location I must say! There was a large family sitting in the far corner on the left hand side, but towards the right, there was an employee, Logan, who was ready to assist me. As I was looking at the menu, I didn't like how the menu was kind of scrambled around. What do I mean by this? So I was intending to get a mini 3" sandwich to redeem my $2 off since percentage wise, that'd be really good savings there. The right side of the menu specifies the sandwiches that can be made miniature, but the sandwiches are denoted by their assigned numbers. The numbered sandwiches aren't in any particular order, so without Logan's help, I would have had to bounce back and forth between different sides of the menu to understand which sandwiches come in a 3" size, and for how much? Such a cumbersome way to present that part of the menu that I really wish TOGO'S would consider reformatting the menu for ease of readability. But I'm starting to digress. Logan did help me out by specifying the four mini sandwiches that I was initially looking at. I thought about the #3 Turkey and Cheddar, but once he told me the #20 was Albacore Tuna, I decided to go with that. Tuna sandwich for less than $4? Count me in! Logan asked me a couple questions: What type of bread, and would I like all the produce? Since I'm trying to get more whole grains and vegetables in my diet, I said whole wheat and yes, respectively, to his questions. However, Logan was trying pretty hard to sell me on a kids meal, which also comes with chips and a bottled water, despite me not being a kid, except maybe at heart lol. I did ask him how much a Kids Meal was, and he had to go to the register to look it up. It was a couple dollars more than a mini Albacore Tuna sandwich, but since I was planning to get food at a neighboring eatery, I passed on the kids meal and settled for the mini sandwich. While Logan was crafting my sandwich, he asked his co-worker, or maybe supervisor, Brian, to ring me up. After scanning my QR code for the migration offer, the $2 came off, no problem, and I paid. Shortly after I paid, Logan had my sandwich ready in a takeout bag. I asked for a water cup, and he gave me one, no problem as well. I took the sandwich and water cup to a table by the window to enjoy, but the first thing I noticed was a small piece of bread stuck to the outside of the wrapper?! Well, not so great presentation up front, but after unwrapping the sandwich, I found the #20 Albacore Tuna to be quite good! Unfortunately, it seemed Logan missed a few of the vegetables like the olives, jalapenos, and the cucumbers, which you can request in the TOGO'S app. Kind of disappointing, especially since he asked if I'd like all the vegetables before crafting my sandwich, but I suppose for those three in particular, you have to proactively ask? Nevertheless, I enjoyed the tuna in this sandwich, and there was still a good helping of vegetables in the sandwich otherwise. However, $5.75 for a mini is still kind of steep for such a small, but mighty, sandwich. Like I said earlier in the review, there are plenty of tables for customers to sit at, so unless an entire baseball team and their parents are there to celebrate a big W on the field, I doubt you'd see a full house in this TOGO'S. Overall, TOGO'S is still a good solid spot for sandwiches even if they're a little pricier than Jersey Mike's or Subway, but they do stuff the sandos with good quality ingredients! Also, despite the hard, but rather unsuccessful selling job, Logan was still a pretty cool employee to do business with.

Most In-N-Outs buzz with customers now, & the ambience here was no exception. I got in line, & I noticed the line thinned out quickly due to the promptness & tactfulness of the cashier. Once I made the front of the line, I noticed the cashier smiling courteously at the preceding customers as they took their receipt. Then she directed her attention to me with the same most professional & highly polished demeanor. Her name-tag read: Serena. She is one of the few employees I've seen at In-N-Out who can maintain the upbeat persona required at In-N-Out without seeming fake or trying way too hard. Serena asked for my order with the same genteel smile on her face. I ordered a Neapolitan shake. Serena congenially chimed that she would have the shake ready quickly. A good cashier/staff at a fast food place will find a way to identify smaller orders and get them out expediently. Serena did just that. I waited less than a minute, & Serena went out of her way to hand me the shake directly rather than have me wait to hear it called out on the PA system. An employee who exhibits tact, intelligence, & a sound work ethic deserves promotion &/or recognition. In-N-Out might do well to consider how to recognize Serena's management potential.
