the exterior of a subway restaurant at night
    Terry T.

This Subway location has been in business for many years. I visited ten years ago or so and did not have a pleasant experience so I never returned until this past Wednesday. I finished up some grocery shopping at Lidl. It was about 6PM and my wife had told me I was on my own for dinner so I thought I'd take a chance and stop by Subway on my way home. It turned out to be a good decision. This free standing location has a drive-through window which was active during my visit. Traffic flowed smoothly by the window so people did not wait long for their orders. The private parking lot is on the small side and has lots of patchwork. It could benefit from repaving but seems adequate for the business and was free of debris. There were a few people in line and a couple people eating in the small dining room when I entered the restaurant but the employees were quick to look up and greet me. The line moved swiftly and I soon placed my usual Subway order of a large Spicy Italian on Italian herb and cheese bread. The three young people working the store were very efficient in their jobs and maintained pleasant and professional demeanors at all times. My sandwich was quickly prepared to my specifications followed by an efficient checkout process. I was in the store for only about five minutes from start to finish. I made the short drive home and enjoyed my fresh and delicious sub. This Subway location is convenient to my home so I am glad to now know I can expect a pleasant experience for my return visits.

The owner told me April 2026 will be there 1 year anniversary here. The food was really flavorful and the rice was good too; not dry at all. You can't see from the photo but under the pita bread was a fried green tomato or egg plant (not even sure really) but I would order a dozen of them if I could it was that good. The wings were cooked to crispy perfection, the only thing I would add would be that the wings are not fully covered in sauce so you may want to ask for extra, but I would definitely order again. This place also has a small shop inside and butcher in the back. I saw they had some tomahawk steaks in the back hanging and offered oxtail which I would love to try the next time I'm at home for a longer period of time. Definitely 5 / 5 for me.

Ordered the halal plate, the beef shawarma, and falafel. Watched a bit of TV and browsed the groceries, lots of delicious products. Will be back definitely. Halal plate was too much to eat in one sitting. Falafel was crisp and delicious. Beef shawarma disappeared so fast I hardly saw it! 13/10 stars! The ONLY thing I didn't love was the shopping center. The smoke shop and staff always smoking outside and the trash can out front is over flowing. Don't let it stop you because to go is amazingly quick!

They aren't too far away from Northampton Blvd. Coming from I-264, you can get off at Newtown Rd. and head north to it, as the road name does change to Diamond Springs Rd. Coming in while heading northbound is easier than if you were coming in the southbound direction. One thing I noticed is that parking can get limited here when there are lots of visitors to this shopping center. My visit here was on April 17, 2026. The first thing I noticed was parking. Although this is in a shopping center, parking can be hard to find at times, especially during peak times. I was able to find one on this visit, but there wasn't much available. The Yellow signage for the name of the business on the outside helps see it pretty quickly. When my mom and I came inside, it was already busy. There was a wait to get a table, but I wasn't totally surprised at that. It would take about 15 minutes to get a table. Once we got to the table, we had a chance to look over the menu for a moment before the server came around and asked for our drink orders. Water came to the table at that time too. I decided to try their Bloody Mary for a drink and my mom did a Pepsi. The Pepsi comes in a can. I want to note that they have vegan options on their menu, so that adds to the amount of items to choose from. They have a pretty big menu covering both breakfast and lunch options. After having some time to look over the menu, we were finally ready to order. I don't do French Toast too often, so I decided to do the French Toast Meal with scrambled eggs and bacon (crispy). My mom decided to go with the Veggie Egg Scrambler, adding cheese to it. She got white toast and bacon as the sides to go with it. While waiting for the food to come, I tried the Bloody Mary. It was in a tall thin glass. The Bloody Mary was good. After about ten minutes or so, the food came out to the table and it looked really good. The server brought over syrup for my French Toast, but I told her I didn't need it, as I don't normally do lots of sugary items. As we started eating, the food was definitely hot, which is great as it came out pretty much when it was done from the kitchen. The French Toast was really good and it was a great indulgence for me. The eggs and bacon were really good too. My mom liked the Veggie Egg Scrambler too. The only minor issue was that the salt dispenser was low on salt, so it was primarily just the rice at the bottom to keep the salt from binding together. Overall, this was a great first experience outside of events. Even though it was packed, the servers were on point to check things along the way. It was only towards the end where I didn't get a chance to catch them about the salt shaker, but I did let them know when we were headed out. Prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you get, and there was no surcharge if you use a card of some sort instead of cash to pay. If you're looking for a great locally owned breakfast/brunch/lunch spot in that area of the city, this place is worth checking out.

I ordered the meatball grinder with provolone, and it might be the best grinder I've had since moving to Virginia--hands down. The bread was absolutely top tier--toasted perfectly with the ideal mix of crunch and softness. The meatballs were flavorful, the provolone was melted just right, and everything held together beautifully. The only note I'd give is the sauce--it was a little heavy for my taste. Next time, I'll ask for light sauce, and I know it'll be perfect. My coworkers all ordered salads, and WOW--they're massive. Fresh, crisp, and definitely worth trying on my next visit. Presentation was on point, and everyone was raving about theirs. Overall, this place is definitely going on my repeat list. Quick service, generous portions, and flavors that hit. Greater Grinders = Greater Lunch. Sidenote, have lots of lots of napkins meatball grinder gets very messy because of the sauce Sorry I didn't get a lot of pictures. I just ordered takeout and my coworker picked it up.

The service was excellent- the man ringing my food up was hilarious and very helpful with my additions to my grinder. I went during the lunch rush on a Friday, and it was quick with how they do things (someone ringing up the orders, someone preparing the subs, someone doing cleanup, etc...). I brought it home to share with my girlfriend, and it was delicious. I will absolutely go again, probably on a monthly basis. :) I was impressed!
