No biggie b/c I would just call and they'd make it right. Updating my review to reflect the improvements to the level of customer service I have received since my original review. The last 3 curbside orders were received by very polite and friendly staff, and were mostly accurate. I can't quite fully update my food rating as I received an order of the breakfast mini rolls without the honey butter, but it looks like things are improving! Still rooting for you Chik-Fil-A!! -------- I'm normally pretty pleased with the food and service here, but lately the staff has really been dropping the ball. Three times the salsa for my burrito was missing from the order. I understand that this is primarily a chicken establishment, but if you are offering meatless options, paying customers should receive what they order. People have dietary needs and order food based on that. I paid for a meatless hash brown burrito (egg and cheese). I got a burrito jam packed with huge strips of chicken. Accurate orders are better than rushed incorrect orders. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME TO DOUBLE CHECK ORDERS BEFORE YOU SEND THEM OUT. Even fixing an order after the fact doesn't reestablish trust. Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's begin!. I came to this location because my wife asked me to pick up some chicken noodle soup on my way home, I ordered through the mobile app like I normally do and went through the drive through to pickup my order. The young lady verified my order then I drove around and another young lady brought my order out to me!. Everything went smooth until I had to wait for cars ahead of me to exit!. It's not a huge deal but other chick fil a locations will have people in their cars that are waiting for their orders that are ahead of you pull up and the employees will bring their orders out to them so that the people in the cars that already received their orders can exit the drive through and go about their day!. This will not stop me from returning but I may consider picking up my order inside as opposed to picking up my order in the drive through!. read more

I absolutely love Chik-fil-a and have been to many across states. My all time favorite one is on the campus of ODU in Norfolk, VA. They treat customers wonderfully! The manager there (Keisha) is awesome too! As far as this location, overall I like this Chik-fil-a and have only had one incident here (there was a gnat in my sweet iced tea). But, I understand that things happen. HOWEVER, today (9/21 between 6:30-7pm), I'm a bit puzzled and bothered. We ordered over $40.00 worth of food and asked for extra egg on one of the salads. We waited patiently for our food. An employee came to us and stated that the manager said that the manager said that we needed to pay $.67 for extra egg. Yes...sixty-seven cents. We didn't have cash and paid with a credit card so we said "no thank you." The employee turn and motioned to the manager that we didn't want it. The manager yells to whomever was fixing the salad "they don't want the egg it's just $.67!" Of course everyone turned to look at us. So what should've happened? they should have simply put the extra egg on the salad and had a brief discussion with the person who took our order -- explaining to her what happened and what to do next time. I understand that we need to pay for extra items but it wasn't our fault AND there was no need to make it a big deal. Not to mention, I excluded items from the salad so I made up for the cost, triple time. Food for thought. read more

I went to Chick-Fil-A, on Saturday night, and when I got home, I discovered someone took a bite out of my sandwich! I won't be buying from them, anymore. I thought it might be interesting to discover what's in their chicken sandwich. It contains MSG, an excitotoxin. Excitotoxins, like aspartame and MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) overstimulate neurons in the brain. When these neurons are overstimulated they quickly become exhausted and die. There used to be another location... inside of Chesapeake Square Mall in addition to this free standing location off of Portsmouth Blvd. However, the mall location has left the building. Nevertheless, it seems like it doesn't matter the day or time of day, this location always has a drive-thru line wrapped around the building. The inside is just as busy. As a result, pack your patience. But the lines do move quickly! I have never had a brow raising experience at this location. And if I had to point out a side eye...expansion is needed. Super tight parking lot. This location features an outdoor playground and a one lane drive-thru. On any given day, you can expect two employees to assist you with their mobile devices in the drive thru line before you reach the window. Of course they are closed on Sundays, but I believe their business hours are Monday-Saturday 6am to 10pm. The parking lot is small, therefore it will fill quickly. Definitely be cautious as you move about this area. There is overflow parking across the street outside of JcPenny (Chesapeake Square Mall). And I believe the employees use this lot. I wholeheartedly recommend this location. Food is always yummy, perfect temperature and service with a smile. Also keep in mind, if you order a kids meal and the child does not want the toy/book, you can trade it in for ice cream (cup/cone). Super cool trade! I also recommend you download the app as well! Wow! I love the design of the new building and the drive-thru set up. The food is extremely hot and tasty. They are able to handle more customers more efficiently the same incredible courtesy and kindness. I think that you will enjoy the new layout. Staff forgot to put half my order in the bag. Was told to pull around. After 15 min I had to go back up to window and ask if they forgot my order. Did this twice!!!! Finally got the rest of order. But they had to remake my milkshake because it melted while waiting on the mistake they made. My sandwiches that I first received while waiting for the rest of the order were soggy and cold by the time I got home. Ordered mobile due to the visible "hey it's almost noon" chaos. Didn't exactly figure out the parking the first time, but like every other Chick-fil-A...there's a system. Honestly I'm shocked at the service I revived today. As you you can see my ticket says extra pickles with extra pickles on the side. Gets my food and grabs my sandwich and the first thing i see is no pickles. So I figured no biggie. I'll just drive back around and get some pickles. So I did just that I had to wait in line again. I'll pull off and open my sandwich and to my surprise I got a chicken strip sandwich. I was unaware that Chick-fil-A sold chicken strip sandwiches. So at this point I'm already annoyed. So I go back through the drive-through and the girl was like you ordered an original chicken sandwich right and I said yes and she tried to tell me that how it comes. So this point I just asked for a refund because I'm not gonna eat that. So a few minutes later she comes back with a replacement sandwich which means I spend about 30 minutes at this restaurant. This place needs some intervention. It is close so we eat there when in a pinch but if I have the time we drive to college drive. I can not tell you the amount of times that something has been wrong with my order. Here's a few of the highlights: 1. I ordered a 12 count nugget meal for my children to share...I took them to chittem as a surprise for my school aged child. When we sat down and I went to serve the kids I realized that there were 7 nuggets in the box this was not a success. The younger one had to watch the older one eat 2. On a regular basis the chicken sandwiches are very thin...much less meat then other locations. I don't know if they portion their own and they make 2 portions into three instead or what but it is so frustrating because chic fil a isn't cheap. 3. Even the pandemic and supply shortages don't explain. Several other Chick-fil-A's in the area feed you with well prepared meals. This Chick-fil-A is no longer an asset to the company. Other people have shared their complaints with me as well. I have given them the benefit of the doubt until now, I will not be going back until they change their ways. The chicken portions are tiny, the fry boxes are half full, they never get the order right the first time, and generally just not what they once were. Please focus back on your customers. My company had asked me to put in an order for pickup for the employees in the office. Once my coworker picked up the order and we got everything sorted out for each employee and one person's meal was missing. I call the store to see if they would replace it and if possible, to have it delivered since we are only right down the road. They have gladly done it before, but this time when I asked the lady said, "Since you didn't put the order through our delivery service we are unable to deliver it to you." My company orders through them fairly regularly and for them to deny to make it right unless I came back up there is disappointing. read more

I love this location! They are always kind, I've never had to wait too long. I go during my lunch breaks and since the drive thru has been exceptionally busy from Covid, I have been getting Curbside Pickup and it has gone amazing! They are always fast, the food has always been fresh, and the service is spectacular. Each time I go to this location, Doug Burgess brings out my food and he is so kind! No matter what the weather is he is happy to help, and even in today's pouring rain he waited until I got my window shut while he had his umbrella over my car so that me and the food would not get rained on. Did not supply dressing for a Salad that requires dressing to be eaten and then would not do anything to rectify the situation. I've always been a fan of Chick Filet, love the taste and freshness of their grilled chicken nugget bites. So, I combine this with their Kale salad side dish, and always a large side upcharge. Will try to post a picture here showing this particular locations idea of a "large $3.50 portion" crunchy kale side. In the past, these large portions contained 8 ounces of salad. Yesterday, the kitchen manager told me the "standard" large portion size is 3.2 ounces. What?!! I visit various Chick filet locations while traveling, and as early as last week received the full 8 ounce portion at the College St. Suffolk location.
