The math doesn't work, but neither does this place, and somehow that's exactly why it does. I got the Natural sandwich and even as I'm writing this review, I wish it was still in my mouth. It was outstanding. The kind of sandwich that makes you wonder if you've been wasting your life eating lesser sandwiches. They also had old-timey bottled sodas that were fantastic, plus a bunch of random chip brands I'd never heard of but was immediately willing to trust. No regrets there. I grabbed a cookie that looked soft, gooey, and delicious. It nailed the delicious part but missed on the soft part. If you're a crunchy cookie person, you're in luck. If you're like me and prefer your cookies to have the structural integrity of a wet sponge, you may be disappointed. The tables were lined with comic books, which is exactly how I would decorate my house if my wife weren't constantly protecting me from myself. The staff was friendly, helpful, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Garner's is quirky, unique, and packed with personality. Highly recommend if you're anywhere nearby.

I did Edward's Point and Signal Mountain on a super hot morning hike and decided I had earned a huge sandwich and some pimento cheese so, I snuck in about 25 minutes before closing to get a sandwich to go. Staff were SO nice and welcoming. Telling me there was no rush, I could sit and eat, etc. I spoke to the charming Chris, who went over the entire menu with me and offered for me to sample a few of their pasta salads and pimento and made suggestions. He was the biggest sweetheart. In the end, they didn't have the daily special chopped Italian I'd seen so, I went with a turkey and cheese with pimento to go and some sweet tea. At checkout, another friendly and lovable female staffer was totally charming. My sandwich was HUGE and the pimento cheese was some of the best I've ever had! And, your girl is from the South so, I've had a metric ton of pimento in my life. I really like the location and the vibes inside. Local's gem. And the staff, A+++++

The basil tomato soup was OK- it would've been nice if it was served with a bread roll. Go with her again by choice, probably not, but it was the only one open when our sandwich place was closed earlier this week. Worker who took our order was not particularly welcoming, either annoyed and after writing up our slip to take to the cashier kind of tossed at us, but it's OK for it, but she would recommend getting your sandwich to go and take it to the park instead

Some highlights were the burger (the best I've ever had), the trout (also the best I've ever had), the charcuterie board (delicious), and the beef tallow fries (also delicious). The service was amazing; the servers were very nice and the food was very quick. Also, the ambiance was very nice; we were there on a Tuesday night and there was a waitlist (I recommend coming around 5 PM to beat the crowd). Overall, amazing! 5 stars.

Chattanooga is a meat town. Main Street Meats seems perfectly content with that fact…read more This is a butcher shop that happens to feed you, which is usually a promising arrangement. Nothing arrives looking like it spent twenty minutes being positioned with tweezers. It's meat, bread, potatoes, pickles and sauce--the sort of food that requires napkins and leaves evidence. The Reuben is borderline obscene. A heap of deeply colored, tender meat barely contained between aggressively toasted bread, melted cheese and pickles. It's messy. It falls apart. You stop caring almost immediately. The turkey club is the quieter surprise. Thick slices of actual turkey--not the sad, uniformly circular stuff that's been haunting office refrigerators since the Eisenhower administration--piled onto grilled bread with bacon, avocado and enough richness to make the whole thing work. Then there are the potatoes: thick, fried rounds with crisp, dark edges and soft centers, served without ceremony alongside ketchup and a creamy orange sauce. Simple food done properly. There's nowhere for bad technique to hide. And that's really the appeal of Main Street Meats. They're not trying to convince you that lunch needs a backstory. They butcher animals, understand meat, make sandwiches and appear to take all of it seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Michelin noticed the place. After eating here, it's not particularly difficult to understand why. Come hungry. Order too much. Get the Reuben. Wear a shirt you don't particularly care about.
