Racist manager who defended her racist employee.
    Jeremy M.

Fool me once shame on them. Fool me twice and I'm never coming back to the hell hole again. Nancy acts like a terrible manager. I don't know if she is or not. She would rather defend her racist employees and cancel an innocent customers order than actually hold her employee accountable. I placed an online order for pickup. I walked in the door and sat down right as a nice middle eastern woman was saying hello to the employee behind the counter. He refused to acknowledge her. She said hi again and he still wouldn't respond. He bluntly asked her what she wanted and sighed loudly as she told him. He refused to add more tomatoes to her sandwich then mocked her for not knowing how many tomato slices are on a standard footlong sandwich. She was obviously offended and I was too at this point. When he ran out of salt in the shaker he just told her he was out. He never volunteered to go find more. This is when I stood up for her. I asked him to go get more because she won't be the last one who wants salt. He looked me straight in the eye and asked me if I wanted my order cancelled. I said no, of course, but that I wanted him to treat her nicer. That's when Nancy chimed in telling me to mind my own business. When the kind lady was on her way out the door I told her that the other location on Crawford always had great customer service. Nancy hated this when she heard it and again threatened to cancel my order. I told her I would rather give my tip to the kind women at the Crawford location than the racist bigots who work at the 7711 Burnett. So she cancelled my order and kicked me out of the store for standing up for the middle eastern woman.

Arrived after 7 pm when the restaurant was fairly empty. It allowed me to receive great attention from the two employees behind the counter. I ordered off the menu (turkey & pepperoni), confusing one employee. The other informed both of us this is the Italian turkey from the secret menu. Go figure. Only problem with arriving so late in the evening was that the lettuce wasn't all fresh (some was turning red on the edges). Also, some of the tomatoes weren't ripe--they were still green (so tomato choice was slim). All that said, my sandwich still tasted good and the overall experience was positive.

    Wilted, stinky, expired spinach

I get the same sandwich at least once a week sometimes more. I order online, I have never had any issues thus far. Today I got a sandwich for myself and a sandwich for my boyfriend and some cookies for him as well. In my sandwich I ordered spinach as I always do. I took a bite of my sandwich and an overwhelming taste of bitter, expired spinach filled my mouth. It was nasty! The spinach smells so bad and it's wilted. The spinach is so past due that when I picked it out of my sandwich my fingers smelled like the bitter stinky spinach. It was nasty. My boyfriend ordered the oatmeal cookies and they were brittle with a bland sandpaper taste and texture not soft like he expected. Attached is a photo of the spinach. The sandwich was not sitting it was eaten right after it was made.

The way this restaurant serves food. Worst service

I like the buffalo chicken sub. With the $5 deal, this has become my snack of choice. The service here is friendly and fast.

I didn't feel like a burger though so I got the Classic Coney hotdog which is full of Detroit style chili (thick meat chili with no beans), and loaded with red onions and shredded cheddar cheese, then topped with mustard. It was delicious and filling. It Truly was like a dog you'd get at a Coney's in Detroit, MI. IYKYK. Then I heard you had to try the latke here, so I got Bubbe's OG Latkes which is 2 round thick potato pancakes! It came with sour cream and Smutz smoky aoli sauce on the side. I tried it both ways and it was good. But really it was best with that cold creamy sour cream that goes so well with the potato flavor. They also have great drinks which are refillable for free while you dine in. And I love the chill vibe and decor. Great artwork and old photos. Very funky! What you get here are chicken sandwiches that are different than what's primarily available such as: - Chicka Boom Sandwich: a Karaage-style (lightly battered) fried chicken thigh infused overnight in sake, soy, and Japanese herbs and spices, with an assortment of veggies, yuzu (think: lemon) aioli, and yuzu slaw. ($12.99) - Chicken Katsu Sandwich: a Katsu-style (panko bread crumb crusted) chicken breast with goat cheese, yuzu aioli, and apple slaw. ($12.99) The main difference here aside from the variation of the veggies would be the texture. Chicka Boom would be a lot more lighter and softer. Katsu would be crunchier! Can't go wrong with both, but if I had to pick: Chicka Boom is my fav. Plus you get to choose a sauce when you order and you GOT to get the Triple Herb ranch which is made of garden mint, basil, and cilantro - it's TOO GOOD!! The yuzu honey aioli is a good runner up as well, the sweet creamy sauce would be a contrast to the herbal one above. You can also get: - Karaage-Style Popcorn Chicken: similar sentiments to what I said above - good choice if you don't want a sandwich! ($11.99 for the large with no toppings) - Tater Tots: this has a blend of spices and sauces, what's more to say? Just look at the picture. They were a welcome addition to my meal. ($8.99 for "all the way") - Mac Daddy (COMING SOON!): think about the oriental blend of herbs and sauces you've seen throughout the sandwiches now imagine them with creamy, rich delicious mac & cheese. This was addicting! It's not on the menu yet, but stay tuned because it will soon! All in all, you get good food from a chef that has years of culinary experience and she knows the ins and outs of the chicken sandwich industry. I highly suggest you give Chicka Boom a try. They are only available for delivery where you can find them on DoorDash today and other services very soon! They get a 5/5 in my book for being amazing.

I am strangely addicted to tracking my macros and so I order the chicken nuggets every time (look up the protein, it's insane!). A guy (the receipt says the server was Christobal) smiled and said it's okay I can take your order. I ordered a cookie and oh my goats I love their cookies. The guy asked if that would complete my order, but I told him I didn't know if I wanted food, and he asked me if I was feeling food at that moment. I said yes to food and ordered a chicken burger as well. His vibe was great. He had asked me if I wanted a drink too and mentioned there were milkshakes, but I said no. However, I kept thinking about it while waiting for my order that I decided to get one. A different person took this order. The lady heard me say strawberry lemonade when she put my order, but since there's no way I could see that and she didn't read back my order, I ended up paying for that. When I saw my receipt, I got really emotional maybe because I had a really long day and am sick. Nevertheless, I asked her if I could pay the difference for a strawberry milkshake, but she just charged me for a whole milkshake so I had to end up taking the lemonade. I wasn't so happy about that. Instead of spending $9, I spent a total of $12. It was all made up when a different dude gave me my order and gave me a cookie. He was so sweet. When I left I waived him goodbye and he waived back. W customer service on his part. Besides the order madness, I loved this place. Will be going back. Forgot to mention, the prices are amazing! And the food tastes phenomenal!

Today, with a BOGO coupon in hand, I did. It's a counter-order fast-food type setup, but I thought it strange that the big menu board didn't mention prices. I had to search around to find that info, in a battered 8x10 frame on the wall. Hmm. $13 for a meal of 3 tenders and fries, with no drink or biscuit included? Seemed a bit much. I got mine to go, and asked for one order of original and one of spicy tenders, but at home, neither of us could tell the difference, so I guess they didn't give me spicy. The tenders varied in size from big to skimpy, but were fresh and tasty--though I would have liked to try the spicy type. The fries were also good, a nice medium cut, in between the dreaded shoestring and chunky steak fry. The sauces we got were good, but if you use a lot, looks like they charge "Just 99 cents!" for an extra tablespoonful. With my BOGO, the price seemed about right. But at their posted price point, (which seems designed to go up at a moment's notice) I'm much more likely to spend that much for table service and excellent chicken a few blocks further north on Burnet--or half that for Cane's or Popeyes, if I want to order at a counter and eat out of a box.
