I watched as he swiftly and deliberately entered in my order, wasting no time selecting the combinations of buttons on the screen. If I were to describe my experience at Jim's with one word, without a doubt it would be "reassurance." When I took a seat facing the counter, I saw other customers who ordered after me receive their food as I continued to wait. At first, I felt uneasy. Did they forget about my order? Just as I was ready to ask about the status of my breakfast burrito, the young soul called me up to ask about my choice of salsa. Next to him was my burrito, carefully wrapped in the finest parchment. I gave my final "Thank you's" and "Goodbye's" as I departed an experience I will never forget. I've gotten at least a dozen sandwiches (and likely more) from Ike's over the years, and it was always my favorite local sandwich shop after they finally opened a location in the northeast side of LA. But I must say, as of late, their quality is really not the same as the past. I recently ordered a sandwich that came with mushrooms and it was barely cooked and mostly raw. Having raw mushrooms in a sandwich is really not it, and considering each sandwich here is about $16+ post tax and tip (yes I did tip), I think we can expect a little better quality, or at the very least, not having basically raw mushrooms in a sandwich. While they do have many sandwiches to choose from on such a vast menu, and everything is customizable (just with additional charges), it does feel like they'd do better if they nail down some of the details like making sure their cooked ingredients are actually cooked. All that said, the store is kept clean, there's some dine in tables as well as outdoor seating. The music indoors is kept loud, and the decor is very colorful and bold. Service feels like what you'd expect from employing recent high school or college students at their first jobs, but it's always been polite. My dad really likes this place as it is clean, bright, we get good service, refills are done on our own, and we least have our food cooked right. I love ext to a drive thru in n out and compared to it, I do prefer this one. Ordering is quick and easy, the staff are polite and very helpful. Time for food to be ready varies, if you ask for fries well done it will take longer. Overall, I do think it's great for indoor in n out at least close by, despite living next to one I would drive here instead.

There was a long line inside at 8:50pm and the reviews about the restaurant being a mess were true. The trash cans were full and there were napkins and forks scattered all over by the fountain drink area. However, I was acknowledged by a staff upon approaching the pick up area and she assisted me right away. The steak was actually very good, much better than other locations I have ordered from.
