Breakfast pastrami burrito
Mrdy M.

Tried out Jim's for their breakfast burritos! We ordered a steak & egg burrito and a pastrami and egg burrito. Both were equally amazing and so filling!! We had the option of adding onions and cilantro in our burritos as well as hashbrowns! They add in salsa and that just makes the burritos so much more flavorful!! Will definitely be trying Jim's again for other options!

Jim has been a staple ever since I was a kid it has been here however it can get really pricey for a mom and pop burger spot My advice would be to go during their happy hour or split meals. You really don't need that much food. I think it's really good. Service is quick but again it's pretty pricey that that's my only disappointment.

I was in the mood for a burger and they offer chili cheese burgers. I like to order them like how Tommy's makes them with onions, tomato, and pickles. I requested no lettuce which I feel does not belong in a chili cheese burger. The burger was pretty good and even tastes better when you are hungry. I was surprised how this place keeps busy as there was a constant flow of customers.

Been coming here for over 20 years. The changed ownership not long ago and I gotta say they made some big improvements. Service is really good. Everyone is super friendly. Can't believe I haven't tried their tacos until now. Usually I just get a bacon avocado burger and zucchini fries which always hits the spot. But I gotta say, try some items from their 'South of the Border' menu. You won't be disappointed. The dine experience is also significantly better. With way more condiments on the table. The hot sauces are a great touch. Kinda miss how you can grab your own chilis, but you can still ask them for a bag which is actually plenty. Ain't no one really eating 20 chilis anymore.. I think. If you're a local, come more often. If you're just in the area and need a solid meal at a great ticket, come here.

Can see why locals like this place. Great food and good prices. The cheeseburger combo was $14. The zucchini fries are some of the best I had. $7 for a small and it's massive. The burger isn't fancy at all but it's a good classic burger. I can definitely see myself coming back to try other items or whenever I want a burger.

solid. Nothing wild, but definitely decent. I really enjoyed the pastrami chili cheese fries -- messy in the best way and totally worth it. That said, Original Tops is still better overall. Would I come back? Yeah, I would.

Cashier was really friendly, restaurant was clean and food was out quickly. We use to come years ago to get the fish sandwich for my grandfather. It was a rainy day and we decided to pop in to check it out again food is still delicious. We will be back soon.

Jim's BF burrito with bacon. Tasted very burnt potentially due to an overused grill without proper cleaning between orders.

Today was my second time visiting and my last. The first time I tried this place was also unsatisfactory but I wanted to give a second shot before leaving a review. I ordered 2 burritos on their website; 1 Jim's breakfast burrito and 1 carne asada combo burrito. The breakfast burrito tasted like it was cooked on a blacktop that was not properly cleaned therefore all ingredients tasted burnt and overpowering. For those ordering for the first time, the BF burritos do not come with onions, cilantro, and salsa. So if you order on their website, make sure to check mark that you want these ingredients. What is very confusing though is that the website has an option to remove the cilantro, onions, and salsa making some assume it would automatically with the order. The carne asada combo burrito DOES state that it includes beans, onions, cilantro, and salsa when ordering on their website. However I only got beans with my asada in the burrito. Very bland which could have been compensated by salsa on the side but I was only given 1 to share across both burritos. The meat was not bad and this burrito did not taste burnt like the other one I ordered. I'm not saying I am a big tipper but I did put 10% for this to-go order and asked for salsa on the side. If I get 1 salsa to share for 2 burritos then that's too cheap. The order came with free fries on their website when ordering more than $20 in your order. The fries which were soggy and not salted. I think this promotion is a great attraction for return customers but when considering that the food tasted burnt or bland, my order was not correct, and you provided 1 salsa for 2 burritos, I will not return for a 3rd visit unfortunately.

Large Zucchini Fries with ranch dressing

Hands down, best zucchini fries served hot and crispy with the perfect buttermilk ranch! I ordered the large portion, and it was massive--definitely great for sharing (or keeping all to yourself!). Plenty of seating inside. However, no large tables for larger parties.

Came to LA on vacation and found this gem. These are some of the best burgers we've had, and good burgers are so common that finding something that stands out is rare. Jim's is one of those rare places!!!! P.S. this is one order of large fries!!! Just huge!!! Thank you Jim's! One of the best burger experiences!!!

This is our family's go-to spot when we need comfort food. The zucchini fries are well battered and fried to perfection.

This place lives up to the hype of new trendy LA ice cream places. I love their motto of "Not too…read moresweet", a phrase that is a high compliment in the Asian-American dessert community. Their flavors are very unique, with yakult and misugaru being some of the stand-outs. They also have fun toppings like mochi and sago! I really liked the service because each staff member was very accommodating and let us try as many flavors as we wanted! They also gave us some stickers to take home :) Loved the late night vibes and all of the fun board games they had laying around for people to play!

A line formed right before they open with dedicated customers waiting patiently. Seating is very limited and many people take their ice cream to go. Families, young adults, teens, grandparents- people of all ages come here. Atmosphere is cool, decor is fun. I'm amazed about the flavors they've concocted. During this visit they had condensed milk, mango sago, yakult, black sesame and Vietnamese coffee. The Vietnamese coffee is spot on (I should know I'm a viet girl who gets her viet coffee from time to time). Mango sago was delicious and yakult's flavor was perfect, too! The condensed milk- I couldn't really pick it up flavor wise but I'm thankful for having it along side the viet coffee which balances out the bitterness beautifully. The consistency of the soft serve is impeccable. The topping choices are *chefs kiss*. So Asian, so beautiful. Service was great! They let you try out the flavors before purchase . Luckily they don't have a lot of options so it didn't take forever while waiting in line. I heard they rotate different flavors every week and a half or so. Get ready to come by when the weather gets warm!

The unfortunate part is that the ice cream really isn't that good, and the portions are small for what you pay.  What really turned me off, though, was the lack of common sense from the staff. If you've been here, you know they have a display case with slices of cake and pie. Normally you look through the case and point to the piece you want. That's exactly what I did. There were about ten pieces of cake in the case, and I picked one that had the perfect icing-to-cake ratio. The employee asked what I wanted, and when I pointed to the slice she told me, "You can only pick from these two," while holding up two other pieces. Apparently those were the older slices that they were trying to get rid of. They were clearly smaller and, judging by how they were being pushed, probably not the freshest either. Since I was basically being forced to buy something I didn't want, I said I didn't want anything. She just said "okay" and moved on to help the rest of my family. At that point I told my family we were leaving and heading to Bloomfield Creamery in Altadena instead. The employee had every opportunity to use a little common sense and simply give me the slice I asked for. I work hard for my money, and if I'm paying premium prices, I expect to choose what I'm buying. Instead, they lost Madre family of customers for good.

I tried the lychee and matcha soft serve flavors, and ended up getting the matcha flavor. Those flavors were good, the lychee and matcha were pungent. But the texture of the soft serve wasn't my favorite. The texture wasn't my favorite, it was more of an icy texture as oppose to a creamy silky texture which I would have preferred. I usually like the Oreo topping on my soft serve since it gives it a crunch, but it just didn't taste that good after a few bites. This soft serve was also a bit pricey, it was around $7 for the soft serve and topping, which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't that great. My friend also got their crunchy nut ice cream and didn't like it. I wish I liked this place more since they have Asian flavors but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. Maybe if they improve the texture of their soft serve, I would reconsider.

We honestly wished it was closed when we tried it this evening. Water based soft served. This is a sorbet not soft serve with dairy. A Sorbet. It wasn't even soft served with creaminess. I don't know how to describe it honestly. The charcoal is citrusy flavored. We got it with a waffle cone that was already leaking in the bottom when the employee handed it to us. Hence why my significant other has napkins on the bottom of the cone. (See photo below) The charcoal is like it's almost as if they put the mixed fruity flavor in the machine but mixed with charcoal powder. The blue cookie. Where is the cookie? WHERE. IS. IT?! Again, another water based almost icy "soft served" that's not soft what so ever. I got it with the bubble waffle and Frosted Flakes as the topping. Did I mention that both the charcoal "soft served" with waffle cone and blue cookie "soft served" with a bubble waffle and Frosted Flakes topping was $21 (we tipped also to help support small businesses but sheesh) as much as I love dessert we didn't finish either of these so called treats because it just wasn't good or what others would say, "it wasn't the vibe." The server was nice she let us try different flavors but we tasted coconut in the choconut ice cream flavor and she said it was hazelnut. Boyfriend and I literally took out pieces of coconut from our taster to prove to each other that there was coconut. Again it wasn't creamy ice cream either. Lack luster ice cream. There's a better ice cream place down the road that's always a line on the weekends.
