Have not been here, in years. This was the spot my dad & mom would take us growing up. Crazy how much its changed over the years, burgers are still a 10 out 10, as well as the crispy fries, Only thing I can say is that my husband & I noticed Garlic Powder or garlic salt on the fries. Which throws off the flavor, I don't recall that ingridient used years ago on the fries it was either plain or salt on the fries thats the only downside to the fries, I like garlic powder just not on my fries. We also liked the portion on the small fries, great for the price. Prices are still decent, deff one of the best burgers & fries we had in a long time. Brings back childhood memories.

Old-school restaurant that serves pretty much anything you'd want for a quick, no-frills meal: burgers, sandwiches, fries, even super familiar Mexican fare like tacos and burritos. Prices are very reasonable, too. Jim's sits in a large strip mall off Duarte Road with plenty of parking. Lots of seating inside. Very roomy and clean. Ordered the following: - Double cheeseburger combo with fries and a soda - 6.5/10: unspectacular, but solid. Reminds me of the burgers at Carl's Jr. and Burger King - a classic style, no frills burger. Cooked fresh, large and filling. Fries are plenty enough for even two people. This is a solid, no nonsense place if you're hungry and on a budget. Check it out.

Jim has been a staple ever since I was a kid it has been here however it can get really pricey for a mom and pop burger spot My advice would be to go during their happy hour or split meals. You really don't need that much food. I think it's really good. Service is quick but again it's pretty pricey that that's my only disappointment.

solid. Nothing wild, but definitely decent. I really enjoyed the pastrami chili cheese fries -- messy in the best way and totally worth it. That said, Original Tops is still better overall. Would I come back? Yeah, I would.

I was in the mood for a burger and they offer chili cheese burgers. I like to order them like how Tommy's makes them with onions, tomato, and pickles. I requested no lettuce which I feel does not belong in a chili cheese burger. The burger was pretty good and even tastes better when you are hungry. I was surprised how this place keeps busy as there was a constant flow of customers.

Been coming here for over 20 years. The changed ownership not long ago and I gotta say they made some big improvements. Service is really good. Everyone is super friendly. Can't believe I haven't tried their tacos until now. Usually I just get a bacon avocado burger and zucchini fries which always hits the spot. But I gotta say, try some items from their 'South of the Border' menu. You won't be disappointed. The dine experience is also significantly better. With way more condiments on the table. The hot sauces are a great touch. Kinda miss how you can grab your own chilis, but you can still ask them for a bag which is actually plenty. Ain't no one really eating 20 chilis anymore.. I think. If you're a local, come more often. If you're just in the area and need a solid meal at a great ticket, come here.

Can see why locals like this place. Great food and good prices. The cheeseburger combo was $14. The zucchini fries are some of the best I had. $7 for a small and it's massive. The burger isn't fancy at all but it's a good classic burger. I can definitely see myself coming back to try other items or whenever I want a burger.

Tried out Jim's for their breakfast burritos! We ordered a steak & egg burrito and a pastrami and egg burrito. Both were equally amazing and so filling!! We had the option of adding onions and cilantro in our burritos as well as hashbrowns! They add in salsa and that just makes the burritos so much more flavorful!! Will definitely be trying Jim's again for other options!

Jim's BF burrito with bacon. Tasted very burnt potentially due to an overused grill without proper cleaning between orders.

Today was my second time visiting and my last. The first time I tried this place was also unsatisfactory but I wanted to give a second shot before leaving a review. I ordered 2 burritos on their website; 1 Jim's breakfast burrito and 1 carne asada combo burrito. The breakfast burrito tasted like it was cooked on a blacktop that was not properly cleaned therefore all ingredients tasted burnt and overpowering. For those ordering for the first time, the BF burritos do not come with onions, cilantro, and salsa. So if you order on their website, make sure to check mark that you want these ingredients. What is very confusing though is that the website has an option to remove the cilantro, onions, and salsa making some assume it would automatically with the order. The carne asada combo burrito DOES state that it includes beans, onions, cilantro, and salsa when ordering on their website. However I only got beans with my asada in the burrito. Very bland which could have been compensated by salsa on the side but I was only given 1 to share across both burritos. The meat was not bad and this burrito did not taste burnt like the other one I ordered. I'm not saying I am a big tipper but I did put 10% for this to-go order and asked for salsa on the side. If I get 1 salsa to share for 2 burritos then that's too cheap. The order came with free fries on their website when ordering more than $20 in your order. The fries which were soggy and not salted. I think this promotion is a great attraction for return customers but when considering that the food tasted burnt or bland, my order was not correct, and you provided 1 salsa for 2 burritos, I will not return for a 3rd visit unfortunately.

Large Zucchini Fries with ranch dressing
    Nicole L.

Hands down, best zucchini fries served hot and crispy with the perfect buttermilk ranch! I ordered the large portion, and it was massive--definitely great for sharing (or keeping all to yourself!). Plenty of seating inside. However, no large tables for larger parties.

Jim's has Happy Hour items $4.99 (good price)

This place has some items that are amazing and other ones that you can just do without…read more I came here for Dine La for lunch and here's what I felt about their menu. First off, the takoyaki octopus balls were full of flavor. I feel that this place does them really well. You don't feel overwhelmed by any seafood tastes and instead, you get well balanced flavor throughout every bite with the combination of the ball itself, the sauces and the flakes on top. Next is the omurice. The egg is cooked to perfection and tastes absolutely amazing. The curry, however, which was recommended by the waiter over the Demi glaze, tasted exactly like the Vermont curry cube you get in the grocery store, so I'm not sure why he recommended that over the Demi glaze. The fried rice within the omurice was alright too. Originally, I wanted to get the tonkatsu omurice but got it on the side as the choice wasn't available for the lunch menu. I would suggest doing without the tonkatsu because it was dry and there's a million and one places that can do tonkatsu better than this place. Honestly, I wish I had the opportunity to cut the omurice myself and choose how much curry I put on it, but the staff did that instead, which I guess made for a good video, but took away from my innate desires to cut the egg on my own haha. Next, the ramen tasted pretty basic like what you could get at any ramen shop. For the chicken wings, I've never had chicken wings in this flavor. They were really really good and I would definitely recommend the wings. For the desserts, I enjoyed both the matcha and the snow globe. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more, however. The snow globe is a gelatin and it doesn't really have too much flavor until you get to the parts with the flower. Plus the little clear balls have a nice flavor and texture. For the matcha, it has an interesting texture and then an interestingly light, yet deep matcha flavor. Oh the drinks. The Thai tea tastes exactly like how it does everywhere else. The amazing lemonade is a lemonade with a few slight modifications, like with cucumber and maybe some other things as well. For the service, it's pretty good here. Everyone is pretty attentive. There are three things at the table, such as cayenne pepper and two other bowls you can add to your dishes to add flavor. I forgot the name of the one I liked but it looked kind of like pork floss or loose tea, and that one had a lot of flavor. I think what's most appealing about this place is the ambiance because you can like sit in a honeycomb, there's fancy designs everywhere and you feel like you're in a different place. I think it's a good restaurant but it's kind of weird how some things here are amazing and some are just okay.

I'm almost speechless, but I guess I do have to write something don't I?…read more This legendary casual eatery is everything you want it to be: fresh ingredients, friendly service, delicious food and generous quantities. I don't know where they got the name for their fantastic Sycamore Sandwich, but it's a pastrami reuben with cole slaw instead of sauerkraut, and it very well could be the best I've had outside of New York. Thin, mostly lean pastrami stacked with Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and homemade Thousand Island dressing served hot on grilled rye bread. A heavenly handheld! The thin, crispy onion rings were cooked perfectly, to where the coating was almost falling off, and just oily enough to give moisture and flavor, but not greasy. The fresh, thin, hand cut fries were great by themselves but then add the beef chili and melted cheese, it could be a great meal by itself. Don't forget the Patty Melt, too. Old fashioned, comfort food that you order at the counter or drive through that's worth a side trip if you're anywhere close (or even not close) to Pasadena.

My biggest complaint is the cleanliness, since there were quite a few flies flying around, with some even landing on the booths that I sat in. The booths also looked fairly dirty, which isn't really appetizing if you're planning to eat inside. Service - 10/10 The staff were friendly, and the service was quick. No complaints. Food - 7/10 Tops Special Burger - 6.5/10 Honestly, the burger was just okay. The presentation was nice, but everything else was pretty average. The pastrami had good flavor, although some pieces were oddly chewy. The beef patty also tasted like it had been frozen, which kind of just took away from the burger. Chili Cheese Tots - 7.5/10 The tater tots themselves were great, they were perfectly crisp and cooked well, but, the chili cheese was a bit underwhelming, since I could barely taste the chili. Overall - 7.6/10 (for dining in) the food is decent and id say that its an okay spot if you're looking for a quick bite, and they give fairly large portions. Other then that, I'd recommend using the drive-thru instead of dining in. It's way faster, and you won't have to deal with the cleanliness and long waits inside.

We ordered the Youpo Noodles with Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Sandwich, and Cumin Lamb Sandwich. The marinated beef sandwich was the standout. They absolutely nailed the execution, from the tender, flavorful meat to the texture of the bread. I would come back for this alone. It immediately took me back to eating rou jia mo from a street cart while walking around Xi'an, which is about the highest compliment I can give it. The noodles were freshly handmade, wonderfully springy, and completely soaked with flavor. The beef brisket made them even more satisfying. The cumin lamb sandwich was the only item I felt slightly on the fence about. The filling was good, but I personally wanted a little more seasoning and a stronger cumin flavor. The interior is spacious and clean, service was fast and painless, and there is plenty of parking in the lot. A liminal experience that you should try experiencing too…read more Food: I did THE DH (fancy) and I think it changed my life for the better. Combo: fries and a Diet Coke (for the flavor y'all). THE DH is one of a kind - dry aged beef that doesn't actually feel like ground beef but like they minced it by hand so each bite feels like it still has the texture and mouth feel of thinly sliced minced beef. It is juicy to the point that the aju was dripping down my arm, yet it wasn't greasy. The outside was crispy like they let the grill carmelize the outer layer of the patty and then they left the inside ever so slightly pink (it's not normally my thing and it's not for everybody but for THIS burger I make an exception). The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside like shoestring fries and the inside was like slightly firmer than mashed potatoes - not soggy, crispy yet soft.
