We were walking around in the little town, and we discovered this pop up vendor inside a parking lot next to a brewery. Chef Darko greeted us with a warm welcome. He is very friendly and showed us his ingredients. They use ube burger buns. Menu is small, but that is what I like because I am often indecisive! We picked the OG Burger. The burger was made to order. The burger patty is bigger than the buns. The patty was tender and juicy. It was not overcooked at all! I love this place, and will for sure stop by again. Street parking is available and the parking lot has some space for parking too.

THE DARKINATOR!! Some smashed patties, some chilli, some tri tip, all on this incredible UBE BUN

Absolutely stellar culinary (and vibes) experience, hidden off the beaten path. Make your journey, it's so worth it. I joined Yelp because I absolutely love owner operators with passion, because they make a better product and love to make things better. Nobody I've ever found has embodied that more than Chef Darko. First off, the whole parking lot setup had room for my toddler daughter to play and pick flowers, and run over to me for the next round of deliciousness. My wife found a spot near her on the bench, while Chef Darko and I chopped it up a bit while he cooked. His story is one of realizing the things that really make us happy, and that by focusing on making something incredible from our own heart, the outcome can never be wrong so make that dream happen by any means available. Ugh, man I'm a fan for life. My man also has some good tunes keeping the vibe more than the sizzling of burgers. His creativity on the spot at the end of the day created one of most epic burgers I've ever had. We agreed we'd call it the Darkinator. My man really had a few things at the end of the day and created a fat boy challenge that I'll never forget. How many kinds of meat can a man handle? Oh, we WILL find out! Also, I'm a bit of a birria connoisseur so I had to try Chef Darko's take on it. A beautiful dish, with the acidity to cut through it all. The most original take that still was solid birria. And Da OG! This is what got us to swing by in the first place and it hit the spot, and a perfect bun because it wasn't too bread-y like some buns can get. His fresh made ube buns were just hands-down amazing. Wrapped around all of this amazing flavor, you can't help but feeling happy with each bite. Go and see the cool kid spot before it gets blown up. We made a decent detour on our little roadtrip to go out there and were rewarded with core memories. Thank you Chef Darko!

Chill place with great food! I went last week for the first time and the chef complemented me on my SOAD shirt so we were talking about them for a bit. I came wanting to try the burger on the ube bun which is called the OG because he was the first to do the ube buns, which he told me he makes fresh each day. He was nice enough to give me one birria taco on the house. I also appreciated that he was willing to grill the onions for my burger. Everything was great! The burger was delicious and tasted high quality. And since I came here in a burger mood and not as much in a taco mood, the taco was a surprise star for me! Apologies for the partially eaten food pics but when I saw the food, I just wanted to dig in! I'll definitely be back. I got my food to go but I'd like to try it there at the brewery another time.

I have never had a tastier hamburger in my life It's all homemade and the chef is a class act. I encourage everyone reading this to give it a chance. I got to try the homemade chili and it was equally as amazing. Every element of the smash burger went perfectly together. The sauce was divine (as if made by God himself). The ube bun was perfectly balancing sweet and nutty flavors. The onion were grilled to perfection, and pickles resting perfectly on the patty. I want to go eat another one just typing this review...

10/10 burger! The OG burger was so bomb. The ube flavor is very subtle and overall, so delicious! Definitely recommend if you're craving a good burger

The burger was great! The ube bun is a mixture of a potato and kings Hawaiian roll. Definitely want to try the rest of his menu next time.

Good food and friendly service! Love the beers at the brewery too. Get the chili with cheese and onions

AMAZING!!!! MUST TRY... This guy blew me away. Read the reviews and thought, yeah right. I would easily say it was the best burger I have ever had. NO JOKE! Simple burger, but the way the flavors come together, incredible. You must go visit this guy. My son couldn't put his burger down until he finished it, and it was big for him.

We love coming to RT Rodger's in Sierra Madre and enjoying a delicious ube burger with a cold beer or seltzer. Darko's burgers are SO good and so unique! Such a fun meal.

Chef Darko always comes in clutch! From tacos to burgers & hot hogs (with his very unique twist) my girlfriend and I always make a point grab a bite when visiting our favorite micro pub! All I'm gonna say is you NEED to try the Ube Smashburger. No exaggeration, it's one of the most unique and flavorful burgers I've ever had, and I've had my fair share of smashburgers over the years. The buns are made fresh daily, soft, slightly sweet, and it brings everything together in the best way possible. Also, if you get the chance, chat it up with Remrick. Super chill, down to earth guy who clearly loves what he does and is just good vibes all around. Do yourself a huge favor and check this place out.

And while it doesn't come with a quintet of items guaranteed to fillya up- I can vouch that the pastrami is legit!!! Well seasoned, peppered, served steaming hot aboard a French roll gently slicked with mustard. I've had my share of fabulous pastrami in my time- Katz Deli in NY, Brent's Deli in Northridge and more locally and if you're in a severe 'strami fix...then Togo's #9 will do ya, too. This doesn't compete at those lofty levels, but for its price I'll order this eight days a week over the razor-thin pastrami dispensed by the overrated The Hat chain of pastrami-phixated locales! This restaurant is located in a small plaza but parking is plenty and the wait is not long for a Saturday afternoon. There is a boba place inside but the drinks doesn't look that great so we didn't order any. The staffs are very nice and the setup inside is pretty unique. We didn't get to sit inside one of the Hexagon pods or the lantern cage table but its ok. The ramen is actually pretty good. The broth has a deep flavor to it and the ramen itself is not bad. It is not spectacular but I would say slightly above average. We ordered Combo B so it came with a lot of extra stuff. The ramen though cannot be exchanged so I got the Sapporo Miso Ramen while my wife got the Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen. We also ordered the Yakitori Platter. While the Ramen are decent, the other dishes are subpar. I am 99% sure the Yakitori was pre-made and just reheated. It has no char flavor at all. I believe some off site kitchen prepped the food and the restaurant just reheated the food. That was the most disappointing part of the meal. The cost of the Yakitori was equivalent to actual Yakitori places so I expected decent quality Yakitori. I think the popcorn chicken is the same. It has no crunch to it at all and it is barely warm. The two desserts are decent. Those can be prepare ahead and won't affect the flavor since they are served chilled. After the meal, one of the bowls actually won a free drink so we'll claim it when we return next time. Overall the meal was decent. I just won't order the appetizers next time. Normally I would just give a 3 star since the Yakitori was a bust but the staffs are very nice so I kept it at 4 stars. The place is also very clean too so I would like to repeat to try other dishes.

Kyuramen x TBaar brings together a Japanese-inspired ramen restaurant and bubble tea café under one…read moreroof, offering a menu that extends well beyond ramen. We walked into a space that stands out for its modern interior, featuring private wooden booth seating that creates a cozy, semi-private dining experience, the kind of setup that makes the meal feel more intimate than a typical ramen shop. The atmosphere feels contemporary and social, with a clean, thoughtfully designed layout that works well for both casual dinners and group outings, and the attached TBaar makes it easy to finish the meal with a specialty tea or dessert without leaving the restaurant. While ramen is the restaurant's signature, many of the menu's standout dishes are actually found elsewhere. The omurice is one of the most popular items, served with a fluffy egg and rich demi-glace or curry sauce that makes it one of the restaurant's signature comfort dishes, and the presentation, with the egg split open at the table, adds a theatrical element to the meal. Other highlights include yakitori, bao buns, katsu, takoyaki, and appetizers that give the menu plenty of variety. The ramen itself is solid, with options ranging from traditional tonkotsu to the Yin Yang Ramen that lets you sample both spicy and non-spicy broths in one bowl, though the quality of the ramen can feel less memorable than some of the restaurant's other specialties, the broth lacking the depth and complexity that defines a dedicated ramen shop. The attached TBaar also adds another layer to the experience with milk teas, fruit teas, and desserts that pair well with the meal. Matcha tiramisu, Japanese cherry blossom jelly, and other sweets help round out the menu, making it easy to stay for dessert instead of stopping somewhere else afterward, and the drinks are well prepared, with the tea flavors coming through clearly without being overly sweet. The restaurant's design is one of its biggest strengths. The wooden booths provide a semi-private dining experience, and the overall space feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating an environment that encourages lingering over a meal rather than rushing through it. Service is generally friendly and welcoming, though it can slow down during busier periods as the restaurant fills up, with the team handling the steady flow but sometimes taking longer to check in when the dining room is at capacity. The overall experience remains positive, and the pace of the meal stays comfortable even when the service stretches. Kyuramen x TBaar offers more than just ramen. The inviting atmosphere, diverse menu, and combination of savory dishes, drinks, and desserts make it a well-rounded dining destination. While the ramen may not be the strongest reason to visit compared to some dedicated ramen shops, the omurice, appetizers, desserts, and unique dining experience make it a place worth trying, especially if you are looking for variety rather than focusing on a single dish. The balance of creativity, comfort, and a polished setting makes it a versatile option for a meal that feels more like an experience than a quick stop.
