I wish I could give this place a better rating. I love the freshness of the sandwiches most of the time but the inconsistency in service is ridiculous. If I'm paying $8.99 for a sandwich there should be a good amount of stuff between the bread. The employees have a hard time managing a lunch rush and making actual decent sandwiches. It's also frustrating having a points system that only counts one sandwich at a time even if you buy multiple sandwiches, how does that make sense. read more

I have always believed that this place has an amazing reputation and worth the five stars that I am reviewing but today topped the cake. Decided I wanted to order via Grubhub and everything was fine until my driver decided to cancel the order. His excuse was that the hours were not correctly stating they were open even though I called not once but twice and talked with the manager/owner and she confirmed they were open and my order was ready for pick up saved me nine dollars not having to pay in fees or tip and I got my amazing sandwich and sides. Subarama makes a decent sandwich and gives you a clean place to sit and eat it with restroom facilities to boot! I've eaten here 4 times and had a good experience each time. For that matter, I would go back. It is not, however, anything close to deli-quality. I say that because they do charge deli(+) prices. The meats and cheeses are just the lunchmeat processed stuff you can find anywhere (but they buy in bulk and slice it on their slicer so you sort-of feel like it's more of an experience.) I found the "pulled pork" sandwich to be small and not very tasty at all but their standard, subway style sandwiches are all fine. I've eaten at sandwich shops that cook turkeys and mash cranberries everyday for their $9 turkey sandwich lunch specials. Subarama is fine for what it is but certainly does not warrant any 5-star reviews IMHO. If I could, I would go 3 1/2 stars, but I just cannot commit to saying, "Yay! I'm a fan" read more

The sandwiches are HELLA good. Yes, you read that right, capitalized H-E-L-L-A. If Nor Cal has any say, that will shortly mean 10^14. That is a lot of goods. The service was a little difficult, but I was there during the lunch rush and placing 5 sandwich orders, all a little too close to easily make. Overall, a tasty sandwich. Downside: ordered sourdough roll and got more of a French roll. Also, ordered the veggie sandwich and avocado was $1.75 extra. I asked for no cheese, so it would have been nice to not be charged for avocado. I'm also of the opinion that avocado should come on a veggie sandwich anyway. We were looking for an easy, off the freeway quick lunch while driving a u-haul through the area and this was by far the best thing we could have hoped for. We ordered online, which is super convenient, and got two sandwiches to go. I guess when they received the order, their paper ran out and they were unable to see the details of each sandwich, so they called us to double check everything. The customer service was fantastic and everything was ready to go when we arrived. The sandwiches were so fresh and homemade with tons of meat and toppings - they definitely didn't skimp out!! They get one star only because their food was edible/somewhat decent tasting. What came later was another story. I was SICK AS A DOG. On the road made it SO much more enjoyable. Based on my internet research, I had a less serious (not requiring hospitalization or kidney failure) form of Ecoli. I had ALL the symptoms of Ecoli. Horribly painful for four days. I had the #8 sandwich, turkey with ham and cheese sub with the cream of asparagus soup. My two companions also had the same sandwich but not the soup. I was the only one that got sick, but that doesn't mean it was the soup. Any doctor will tell you that all it takes is one dirty slice of meat or vegetables. The whole container usually isn't contaminated. I had to threaten BBB and health department to get a measly $8.00 credited back to my card. How pathetic is that? NEVER AGAIN. Would love to give more stars but can't. The sandwiches are awesome but that is about it. They hours are constantly changing and when you come in and the door says 30 min left of business the girls tell you they are closing. They smoke right outside the door and it comes into the restaurant so you stand ordering smelling cigarette smoke. The unfriendly customer service is just the start. The business ethics are horrible. The employees do not care and it shows. Food all over the floor and no one feels the need to clean it up. Handling meet and then just taking a towel to gloves to move onto getting soup or a drink. Instead these ladies are to worried about taking a break and checking phone messages. Such a let down for such a great sandwich place. read more

There lunch truck comes to our business every Friday and has done so for the last four years. We love there sandwiches. Everything I've ever ordered has been awesome. They also make great salads too. I have been coming to this place for years and used to love the food. Recently i have noticed that the meat doesnt taste as good on the subs. I was there this week and decided to ask someone if they could make sense of it. I spoke with an employee named kirstin who was nice enough to inform me that they now use the same brand meat that u can buy at Walmarts deli. What a huge rip off! We bought 3 sandwiches. Two with extra cheese and meet and one small with bacon? $43 dollars! That is totally ridiculous! We should have gone to the Olive Garden where you get two dinners for $12.95 for each person plus all the salad and bread sticks you can eat! Found my turkey and avocado sandwich to be the best yet over all the rest. Friendly older guy at the cash stand. Went out of his way to make sure we were happy.
