I usually stop here every time I come into town and get the super special (#19). I used to come here since I was a kid. Usually the portions are decent and the price matched the quality. Lately, the meat and cheese are so thin that they're transparent. While eating my sandwich it felt like I was eating just bread and lettuce. Three for the convenience to the hotels but we chose poorly, was sorry to have given them the business and should have looked elsewhere. Sandwich reminded me of one of those prepackaged gas stations ones, rubbery from the microwave and wholly unremarkable for the money. I recently visited Sub Station II and had an incredibly disappointing customer service experience, largely due to the manager, Juliana. Her poor attitude and lack of professionalism left a sour taste in my mouth, overshadowing what could have otherwise been a decent dining experience. I am in town for a large function and this establishment is the only food place right next to our hotel. I arrived at 8:45pm, 15 minutes before closing. The young lady at the counter welcomed my party and asked for our order. My niece wanted a Philly Cheesesteak and as the young lady was preparing to make it, Julianna (night manager) comes from the back and rudely interjects "you can't order that because we just closed the grill" No where in this establishment or on their website does it specify a certain close time for the grill. And the employee that was preparing to make the sandwich looked just as stunned as us that we could not order from the full menu. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that Juliana was disinterested in providing quality service. Her dismissive behavior was not only off-putting but also reflected a lack of commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction. What bothered me even more was Juliana's attitude. There was no excuse me, I apologize but the grill is closed for the night but can I suggest another sandwich, the interjection was abrasive and rude. Furthermore, the policy is to close the grill before closing all employees should be aware of this. Juliana's unhelpful and dismissive attitude towards customers not only tarnished the reputation of the restaurant but also reflected poorly on the entire team. It is disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism from someone in that is supposed to be in a "managerial" position. I hope that Sub Station II takes immediate action to address this issue and instill a customer-centered approach within their staff. I would not recommend this establishment, which is a shame because it looks like a fairly new establishment and is the sole eatery within walking distance of three hotels. The amount of business that could be generated from the patrons of the hotel would be great for business but not with a manger like Juliana running the customers away because she does not want to do her job. read more

I have been to the new location once. I have to say that the location is great but the monthly overhead must be as well. My order was Skippy on the meats and heavy on the veggies. If your a vegan, it is a must stop. If you are not go to subway. read more

Our subs here were good. The experience was... odd. The atmosphere feels industrial / unfinished / sterile / uninviting. The whole process is backwards from every other sub shop I've been to. Here you pay first then build your sub. It's not intuitive if it's your first time. They only want to know which sub you're ordering up front when you pay. Don't try to give any details about *how* you want it. One counter over, where the subs were being made, I found it difficult to understand which customer they were working with. There's no "line" - just a jumble of customers. The food was good. If they could work on the customer service and process, then I think this place could be great. read more

Best sub shop locally. I live in Bluffton but get to Beaufort frequently on business. Better than any I have sampled in those two towns.

I like eating at substation two in Burton Beaufort but at any given time you can be calling there no one ever picks up the phone for a pick up delivery. I even tried calling one day and walking inside of substation and they weren't that busy but they still did not pick up that phone management needs to look into that because that's not protocol or the way to do business other than that if you're inside and you place your order they're good read more

Best chef salad in town. This salad should make two meals easily. Anytime we get any items from Sub Station ll we are satisfied with the items being very tasteful. This is a clean friendly place to stop for lunch or dinner. read more

All change isnt good change. I have nothing against the new crew working there....they are young and do not know how to make the sandwiches or salads correctly. I don't know if John is still visible or has ecen an ounce or ownership and that in itself is sad. the old crew of ladies who were there has now left and the place had gone to Hell, literally, in a hand basket. I ordered a salad from there awhile ago and it was awful. I couldn't even eat it & had to throw it away. Substation was better when people were there who knew the community and actually made our food the right way! Bring the old crew back and pay them TOP NOTCH! Smh read more

The decor is aged and in need of an update. The thing that's most cringeworthy is fly strips (with dead flies) hanging from the ceiling. But even with all that I can't deny that THE SUBS ARE AMAZING!!!!! Definitely one of the best subs I've eaten. I can overlook the restaurant itself when the food is that good. Worst substation franchise ever!!!! I have been eating a number 19 Super Subs from substation to for over four decades and this is the first time it is ever had some crazy funky nasty spice on it that tastes like black licorice that does not belong in my sandwich, I don't know what they put on their spice wise but it's awful awful awful, almost like fennel or whatever that is that some people put in spaghetti that tastes like black licorice, that's what my sandwich tastes like it is completely terrible!!!!!! read more

It use to be really good when the lady's ran the show. Tonight we stopped by to get a couple of subs. The new guy was cutting meat and the guy that has been there for awhile was making the subs. Well the new guy went to pull the salami out of the cutter and it hit the floor. He picked it up and threw it back behind the cutter. Didn't wash it off or nothing. Matter of fact he didn't even change his gloves after picking it up. My guess the poor sucker that gets the next sub will eat some sand. Never again. My gut hurts just thinking about it. read more
