Dirty rooms with mold. No privacy. FALSE advertising…read more The photos of the rooms are beyond misleading. Privacy is non-existent. You can hear through the walls. Almost all of rooms are just modified duplexes/apartment buildings with shared entryways and balconies. We booked one room for almost $500 a night for a romantic evening and they tried to put us in a cheaper room thinking we would not notice. It was damp, moldy and I found a bug in the room. Once I complained that it did not match our reservation, they suddenly told us about an alleged A/C issue and tried to put us in a "better room". The furniture was damaged and the shower was moldy in that room and in NO way was this comparable to the reservation we made a month prior. Park passes, breakfast and bicycle rentals are "complimentary" but yet they charge you $18 a day resort fee to have access. I do not recommend staying here at all.

The place can use some updating and they seem to be doing that - part of the house is under construction looking like a new deck in the works and at night also work being done to the lobby. The room we booked is a "courtyard queen studio" which has the following description on the website - "Our Courtyard Queen Studio guest rooms are ideal for business or solo travelers. These rooms feature queen beds and stand-up showers. The upper-floor studios have private verandas that overlook the semi-private Lower Courtyard, and the ground studios have lovely front patios and gardens adjacent". However our room doesn't seem to match much of the description other than it has one queen bed, as the bathroom has a small tub, and we are on the second floor but no veranda (maybe second floor is not "upper floor"?). Anyway also not sure why they are called "studios" since it's just one standard room. Anyway other than that our overall stay is comfortable enough - the ceiling fan is a good feature. Breakfast is a bit of an issue however. The inn doesn't provide breakfast so you are given a voucher to have breakfast at one of two nearby cafes. Each voucher basically only subsidizes your breakfast by $7 or $10 respectively which is not enough to include coffee or tea and depending on what food you order will not cover the full amount of that either. That came as a surprise and is not what I'd expected when breakfast is supposed to be included. I don't mind going somewhere else for breakfast but the voucher should cover a set menu that includes at the very least breakfast food and beverages.

Tiffany, the manager on duty, was pleasant during check-in; however, it was a bit odd to see her wearing a Taco Bell jacket behind the front desk, which didn't feel very professional. Our room was spacious, but unfortunately the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was very high, sagged in the middle, and felt almost like sleeping in a hammock. We were woken up multiple times throughout the night because of it. Housekeeping also missed the mark--there were only two bath towels in the bathroom, nothing else. The tissue box was empty except for the decorative tissue "flower," and the towel holder was broken off the wall. The common areas were also lacking. The guest laundry was out of order. One of the two elevators - out of order. The lobby had two empty refrigerators and an empty snack shelf that appeared to be intended for guest purchases. Despite signage stating the hotel is 100% smoke-free, the third-floor hallway smelled of cigarettes. While picking up extra towels, another guest opened their door and a heavy cloud of marijuana smoke poured out--so much for smoke-free. I usually love spreading positivity on Yelp, but it's hard to find many positive things to say about this stay. Overall, it was disappointing and not what I expect from a Holiday Inn. We won't stay there again.

They contacted me told me I had to leave the hotel immediately or they would call the police. I told him it was an accident and I would come down and personally apologize, but they would have none of it. Here's a screenshot of their response. On the day of my sister's memorial I was on the streets and they did not care over a simple mistake. They said I was threatening and intimidating the staff. It was a bit ridiculous in my opinion, but you be the judge. There were four police cars at the lobby at 4 o'clock. I had explained to them when they called that the text was not directed at them, it was is sent by mistake but they had already decided, no thought or judgment. These text systems are often automated, and it certainly seems it was a machine incapable of forgiveness or understanding. Stay at your own risk. And don't give them your phone number, mine filled with spam text the very next day. Maybe they sell your number....

Very cool place and visitor center onsite offers loads of information about the area from things to do, places to see and great restaurants. I loved hearing about the history of Beaufort and if you want to learn something, this is definitely the place to go! It looks like a castle as you come down the street and the folks there are most welcoming. They can also schedule walking tours or golfcart tours for you for another time. When you step inside you feel like you have stepped back in time. We were able to get a last minute brunch reservation, the last time for brunch is 1:30 fyi. Brunch was excellent Chef Toni brought our food choices to life, not the same old stuff. We were delighted to meet her and tell her how much we enjoyed everything. Staff here are very friendly and informative about the dishes and the inn. We were able to check out the 3 floors and the balconies with the beautiful views of the water. Can't wait to come back and sample more food and next time we will stay at this terrific working inn!

We had our wedding anniversary dinner last night at this Ribaut Social Club restaurant at Anchorage 1770 and I can't stop praising on how amazing our steaks were! It was one of the best steak we ate in a while and the gravy and fresh veggies that came with our steaks were fresh and cooked to perfection! Misty, our server, brought us our complimentary sparkling wine that tasted delicious and our fried oysters appetizers were so good. The ambience at the restaurant was so nice with soft music that serenade our dinner. Misty told us that we can go upstairs to their hotel rooftop to enjoy our sunset with our beverages while she keeping our food and table situated for us. The bathroom is nice with a large walk in shower, seems like the water is at the end of the line to this room as everyday was low pressure and hard to get hot water. We were able to take showers later in the evening after dinner times. Tried to one morning around 6:30 to 7am, but after letting the water run for 20 minutes it was still cold and dripping out of the shower head. We inquired about it and was told the road works are to blame, later we asked a guest if they had problems with the water and they had no issues. Location is awesome! Owners are nice, staff are nice and shoot you a smile, but we will stay elsewhere, because we can't take out a loan just to stay here as well as all the issues we've mentioned.

There are 2 bottles of wine in the room! A red on the desk and a white in the refrigerator! I don't know how much they are but I don't care! It's a perfect touch!
