Had the most enjoyable New Year's Eve with The Cuthbert House! The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we enjoyed every second there! Social Hour was fantastic with Lori and her team making all the guests feel so welcome. Every detail was thought of. Breakfast was so enjoyable, can't wait to go back!

The best pancakes! Blueberry and Orange, never would have thought of the flavor combination

Today was our last day at the Cuthbert house. We spent Saturday to Tuesday for mother's day weekend. Ed and Connie were amazing hosts and Mary is a phenomenal chef. Breakfast every morning was beyond tasty and so full of flavor. When we arrived all three of our names were on a sign at the front desk welcoming us to the house. It was a very cute and personal touch that made our first day very nice. The room was fantastic! We stayed in the "Coastal Suite" which had a lovely view of the water front and marina. The house is in walking distance of the town with a lot of unique shops and very good restaurants. Highly recommend the restaurants, Hemingway's Bistro, Plums, Sultus River Grill, Breakwater Restaurant and Bar. Overall a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

Adorable bed and breakfast with sweet southern hospitality. First class breakfast on the front porch with a beautiful view of the marina.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! The staff is so friendly & kind! I loved my room, clean, & spacious! I enjoyed the fact that I could control my A/C for my room, lots of windows & ugh, the shower was BEAUTIFUL! Highly recommend this for any event, or occasion. We were here for an elopement on their front lawn, that was offered on their website. It was a beautiful day & my mom was a beautiful bride

    From our front door!

Stayed two nights in this wonderful antebellum inn. Shannon greeted us at the door with a big smile and southern hospitality. Our suite was on the ground floor with a private entrance looking out at the waterfront. Spanish moss dripping from the trees and spring in the air. The room was possibly the most comfortable, quaint room in which we have ever stayed. Every little detail was seen to including a Kureg in the sitting area. Time stood still for two days as we were transported back to a more genteel time and place. Short walk to town and the Beaufort waterfront. Looking forward to our next stay. Orange/blueberry pancakes, sausages & individual French press coffee. What are you waiting for?

We had an AMAZING elopement at the Cuthbert House! After two cancelled weddings due to COVID-19, my husband and I decided to elope with our immediate families at the Cuthbert House in December. It was the best decision we've ever made. Ed and Connie were the most wonderful hosts. They arranged everything, from our photographer and our officiant, to our cake, to our champagne toast, our evening happy hours on the porch, and our beautiful breakfasts each morning. Connie also got us a dinner reservation (which was difficult to do during COVID) at the most delicious restaurant in downtown Beaufort (Saltus River Grill). I cannot recommend the Cuthbert House's elopement/small wedding package enough! It was so stress-free and everything was stunningly beautiful! It was the best weekend of my life!

We stayed 5 nights in the Coastal Suite, while visiting my daughter who lives in Beaufort. The MOST AMAZING B&B I have ever stayed in. Beautiful old historic, impeccably maintained southern coastal mansion right on the waterfront. Our Suite was ground floor (under the verandah and sunroom), so very quiet, and private. Huge main room with super comfy king bed, large separate sitting room with sofa/chair/ottoman/tables/fridge/microwave/ bar height table and stools. Everything anyone would need! AMAZING bathroom with heated towel rack, oversized walk-in shower with multiple shower heads, and the softest, hottest water...(being west coast residents, I always swoon at soft water). The breakfasts were over-the-top, and where I put Cuthbert House #1 of all the B&Bs we have stayed in. Table set with fine cloths, linen placemats, real silver, crystal, beautiful botanical china, fresh flowers, individual French press coffee pots (or a lovely pot of tea with all the trimmings), and glorious cooking!! Every breakfast began with a bowl of perfectly ripe mixed fruit, with coffee/tea and juice of choice, followed by main entree of the day. In 5 days we had French toast with sausage patties, orange/blueberry pancakes with sliced ham, frittata, eggs scrambled with cream and chives and sliced breakfast sausages, eggs florentine (2 poached eggs on a pile of country hashbrowns cooked with sliced ham, mushrooms, onions, and sauted cherry tomatoes over a bed of spinach, topped with truffle cream sauce). OMG... it was like being a pampered guest in pre-Civil War luxury!!! The Hosts were so gracious, and friendly, we felt like family. Free passes to the nearby state beach, plus beach chairs and beach gear are available. Bikes are also there for guests to use. Evening "happy hour" on the verandah with wine and appetizer gave us a chance to mingle and chat with the other guests. There are so many excellent restaurants just a block or 2 down the street we could have stayed weeks and never tried them all. Just an overall FANTASTIC B&B EXPERIENCE!!!

Nothing short of amazing! My wife and I spent a wonderful Fall weekend here in October. The best time of year to visit, the weather was awesome and the views from our front patio room (Coastal suite) were spectacular. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the cocktail hour with the owners was very nice. The Coastal Suite is basement level and is huge. It's an apartment that is very spacious with an awesome view of the water. Absolutely the best B n B in Beaufort. Everything is walkable and they also have bikes available to navigate the historic areas.

The rooms are spacious, renovated, but I noticed some areas that a renovation can't hide- alas, this is a best western. Through our research, we finally settled on 607 Bay Inn and I'm glad we did. Our room was situated on the second floor at the back of the house. Each room has its own private bath. We also received vouchers to be used for breakfast at our choice of a couple of different eateries downtown. 607 Bay is easily within walking distance of shopping and restaurants as well as the waterfront. The inn has delightful waterfront views itself. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony as well as our evening nightcap. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized I had an appreciation for architecture, especially that of the previous century or two. This inn has that charm in spades. Though the essentials are updated as you can see from the pictures, the old wooden floors have a creak to them and the doors to the front of the house have notes on how to open them with ease. It's a charm that, to me, is priceless. Everything at the inn was well appointed. We had zero issues during our stay. If we're ever back in the area, staying here again would be an easy yes for us. Almost all of rooms are just modified duplexes/apartment buildings with shared entryways and balconies. We booked one room for almost $500 a night for a romantic evening and they tried to put us in a cheaper room thinking we would not notice. It was damp, moldy and I found a bug in the room. Once I complained that it did not match our reservation, they suddenly told us about an alleged A/C issue and tried to put us in a "better room". The furniture was damaged and the shower was moldy in that room and in NO way was this comparable to the reservation we made a month prior. Park passes, breakfast and bicycle rentals are "complimentary" but yet they charge you $18 a day resort fee to have access. I do not recommend staying here at all.

The place can use some updating and they seem to be doing that - part of the house is under construction looking like a new deck in the works and at night also work being done to the lobby. The room we booked is a "courtyard queen studio" which has the following description on the website - "Our Courtyard Queen Studio guest rooms are ideal for business or solo travelers. These rooms feature queen beds and stand-up showers. The upper-floor studios have private verandas that overlook the semi-private Lower Courtyard, and the ground studios have lovely front patios and gardens adjacent". However our room doesn't seem to match much of the description other than it has one queen bed, as the bathroom has a small tub, and we are on the second floor but no veranda (maybe second floor is not "upper floor"?). Anyway also not sure why they are called "studios" since it's just one standard room. Anyway other than that our overall stay is comfortable enough - the ceiling fan is a good feature. Breakfast is a bit of an issue however. The inn doesn't provide breakfast so you are given a voucher to have breakfast at one of two nearby cafes. Each voucher basically only subsidizes your breakfast by $7 or $10 respectively which is not enough to include coffee or tea and depending on what food you order will not cover the full amount of that either. That came as a surprise and is not what I'd expected when breakfast is supposed to be included. I don't mind going somewhere else for breakfast but the voucher should cover a set menu that includes at the very least breakfast food and beverages.

During my longer stay, several issues started to add up and made the experience disappointing. Pros: +The gym is nice and well-equipped. +The beds are reasonably comfortable. +The location is convenient, with several restaurants and cafés nearby. +The elevators worked reliably during my stay. Cons: -As a member of Hilton, they gave no water. -There is no free or complimentary breakfast. -The shower water never gets truly hot, it only gets warm. -The sink also did not provide hot water, which made shaving difficult. -When I arrived, the shower was not clean and still had someone else's hair in it, which I had to clean myself. -The toilet was not clean upon arrival and doesn't flush properly unless you hold the handle down. -Housekeeping was very inconsistent. During my stay of more than four days, the room was only "cleaned" once, and even then they only made the bed. Items like toilet paper and other supplies were not replenished; I was left with a nearly empty roll and had to get another myself. -The complimentary shower soap dispenser was empty and never refilled. It's a small thing, but it's the principle since it's supposed to be provided. -The mini-fridge never got cold, only slightly cool. -The TV only had very basic channels. -The walls are very thin. I could clearly hear conversations in the next room, including a couple being intimate. I'm sure they could hear my TV as well when I turned it up to drown out the noise. -The pool was locked during my stay, even on a 90-degree day, and it didn't appear to be well maintained. Overall: For a very short stay, the hotel may be acceptable due to its location and decent gym. But for longer stays, the cleanliness issues, inconsistent housekeeping, lack of hot water, and noise from thin walls made the experience frustrating. I don't recommend this hotel.
