You'll drive 2.5 miles before you get to the guard at the gate, who contacts the hotel to announce your arrival. From there you'll drive another four miles along tree-lined roads until you get to the resort. Rooms are nicely appointed with a balcony, bathtub in the marble bathroom. You can bike ride or have the staff drive you on the golf carts to the shooting range.of course there's a spa, too. This review is for the River House Restaurant and my 5 stars is 100% earned for this one. Home made bread-fresh daily OMG. They even had Gluten Free corn bread for me, and it was very good. We started with the Caesar salad - absolutely amazing, and a very large portion. We shared the Chateaubriand. It's served by the ounce and they slice it up for you. 16 oz fed us perfectly. Absolutely delicious. Whipped potatoes that melt in your mouth oh.my.god!! Staff works so good together and tables are cleaned off fast. We loved it here so much we tried to go back the next night but of course, they were all booked up! Stayed here for 4 days. This is like a pretty high end resort located remotely on top of a hill, so you feel far enough from everything. You can either stay at the main hotel, a suite (a seperate building on the other end of the resort), or a cottage. The main hotel and suite provide the same amenities, while the cottage is it's own little house that you get all for yourself (complete with a backyard). The hotel offers cookies/ice tea/leomanade in the afternoon at the lobby. At night they make a bonfire and offer smores. (All inclusive so 'free'). They have 3 swimming pools, a tiki bar, great places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Octagon (in the lobby) offers good breakfast options. Their lunch isn't bad either. Buffalo has great lunch options. Riverhouse for a semi-fancy dinner. Since this is like a small town, you can ask for cart service to take you everywhere. Minor inconveniences: The cart service is slow, everytime I called for a cart, it took 30 mins to arrive. There are a lot of insects (the rooms come with insect repellant). Late at night, there is almost no lighting. read more

This hotel is STUNNING! This place has all the lowcountry charm that you need. Our room was gorgeous and overlooked the front entrance. They have many food options and places to explore that you never have to leave the gated community. I enjoyed watching the sunrise on the dock and getting an up close view of dolphins. Beautiful property, room (lagoon view) was plain/quaint but nice, so many birds, gators, cutie creatures to see. 3 pools. Octagon was delicious (especially the sushi chef in residence!!), loved Buffalos for lunch more than dinner. 10/10 recommend the nature duffy ride with the Conservatory guide, and we had a super fun dolphin boat tour too! A couple pro shops and stores, really convenient to walk, bike, golf cart, or Mokie to Wilson Village. Tennis/racquet ball/pickle ball/basketball courts, golf, water sports a plenty! read more

Absolutely stunning. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our 6 and 8 year old loved riding their bikes everywhere. Perfect getaway.

Everything there is so expensive! The hotel was crowded and noisy. I hate that unless you want to walk everywhere, you have to get in a little buggy and be taken where you want to go. The s'mores outside had little kids over the fire pit. I didn't see very many adults watching them. Breakfast for two people was over $100! We ate dinner at the Canoe Club. We had a 5:30 reservation but was told they couldn't find it. There were a lot of empty tables inside. We ended up eating outside. The place is beautiful but I think it is way overpriced! read more

Had kind of an ambivalent experience here. Not great. I was disappointed but it's possible my expectations were too high. They give you a map, but there aren't signs on the grounds. No signs pointing ie this way to Olive, this way to River house, etc. The restaurants are crazy expensive and you're trapped on the grounds. The service is kinda meh. Some folks are over the top gracious ie Miss Heather and the other ladies at the recreation desk. Some of the staff are pretty cold. Highlights: While on the grounds, you can rent golf carts or bikes. The bikes are free. Employees will drive you around in a golf cart You can also rent a Cadillac SUV for free for up to 4 hours. We drove ours to Savannah, GA and LOVED it!! They really cater to kids which is wonderful! They have free nightly s'mores roasting at the fire pits, activity books and badges they can earn. The service at the pool is also nice. They had bottled water and towel service I highly recommend you try as many activities as you can such as fishing. They have all the equipment and they're really equipped. The events are lavish, fun and lively. read more

I just checked out of the Montage Palmetto Bluff after a two-night stay over Christmas. I wish we had enough time to stay one more night because the property is expansive and we didn't get much of an opportunity to explore on Christmas day due to the rain. The vibe is calming and relaxing when you walk around the property. Overall, we had a lovely stay at this Montage location. The property itself is beautiful, lined with live oak trees draped with Spanish moss. We scored a room upgrade at check-in and had an amazing view of the lagoon from our room. Here's what I liked about the property: - location - such a unique and beautiful location for a resort - dining - solid amount and variety of dining options on the property from grab & go to casual sit down (Octagon) to more fine dining (River House) - speaking of dining, we had an amazing meal at River House (amazing food, amazing service, thanks Teddy!). - we also enjoyed dinner at the bar at Octagon. The bartenders are awesome! - gym - decent amount of equipment at the gym (you have treadmills, peloton, row machine, free weights, etc.) - valet - super friendly service, there was even a golf cart waiting to take us back to the main lodge from the River House after dinner - extra amenities like the afternoon snacks during porch time, after dinner s'mores Here's what could be improved: - the concierge service wasn't super helpful. If you've stayed at Aman, Rosewood, or Four Seasons, Montage feels like a class below that. Even top-category Marriott hotels like St. Regis or Ritz Carlton do this better. I was expecting to be able to coordinate a lot more through the concierge, like spa appointments or room service. To make spa appointments, you have to contact the spa directly. To order room service, you had to dial an extension. Not a big deal, but it's just more streamlined when you can coordinate everything through a single line of communication. At other top luxury resorts, I can coordinate/communicate with the staff via text or a mobile app. - mixed communications on availability and reservations between the concierge and restaurant staff: the concierge recommended that we get drinks at Hush before our dinner reservations, but Hush was actually closed on the day of our dinner reservation. The concierge also told us that the pop-up sushi bar was first come first serve, but when we got there, the staff (who was kind of rude, btw) informed us they were fully booked for the night. Again, not a huge deal, but the miscommunication was not my fault, so they didn't have to be rude about our confusion. - housekeeping or someone entered the room while we were still in the room. at top luxury hotels, the staff knows where you are at all times, so they do housekeeping when they know you are out at an activity or during a meal time. - I went to get a quick workout before dinner & there weren't any towels available. And the gym looked kind of messy: equipment and mats weren't put away. - we booked a 90-minute couples massage and at some point, they moved the reservation up by 15 minutes, which is fine, but at no point did they inform me that they made the change. the person on the phone was a bit condescending ("that's not even possible with our reservation system!") about it when they called us to inform us we were late for our appointment until I went downstairs and showed them my confirmation email, at which point they were apologetic. they ended up cutting our appointment short by 10 minutes without informing us up front, so I also had to go clarify after the treatment. They took 20% off the bill, which isn't much of a discount at all, given that we received a shorter treatment than what we booked. - my partner and I aren't married, and hotels like Aman, Rosewood, and Four Seasons typically get that right, but the Montage staff kept calling us Mr. & Mrs. [my last name] and I didn't have the heart to correct the staff every time and say ''actually it's Ms. ____" (I made the reservation), but it was so awkward because I paused every time and was like, "um, yea..." I wish there was a place to submit that info when making the reservation. At most other hotels, I'm able to submit that information at the time of the reservation. (They had our info at the spa, btw, as we had spa appointments so it's not like they didn't have the details. I honestly wished they didn't bother to greet me by my name at all since every single person got both the salutation and pronunciation of my name wrong every time.) Ultimately, I think the service and communication from the staff at this hotel could be improved. All of the issues that we experienced by themselves are not a huge deal whatsoever, but the accumulation of communication errors and the staff being rude and condescending due to their miscommunication was offputting. When you position yourself as a luxury hotel, details matter. Since this was a busy, holiday weekend, I'll give them some slack here. read more

Ventured to this luxury resort last month and didn't know quite what to expect. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking and you are quite a ways off the beaten path (it's a few miles from the turn off from the main road, to the gate, and then on to the main inn). Let's just say the Uber driver was less than enthused. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was quick to load up our bags and whisk us over to our private cottage. Getting an Uber to venture to nearby Savannah for a fun night out was no problem at all. The cottage was spacious, clean, and offered so many amenities - private screened in porch, 3 headed shower with sauna feature, his & hers closets, his & hers sinks, huge soaking tub and sub zero fridge. The service was absolutely top notch. Kelly at the concierge totally made our stay - helping us with everything from dinner reservations, to setting us up with a snazzy loaner Cadillac nearly every day. So yah, the resort has a relationship with Cadillac and you can reach out each morning to try and reserve one. I drove not only a brand new Escalade but also a CT5. This made it so fun and easy to explore the surrounding area. Each time I picked up a Cadillac Richard was always there to send to send me off and take a fun pic so I could share my experiences with my family. He was so kind, approachable and professional. Turn down service was also spectacular. Bottled water on both sides of the bed, lights turned down, bed turned down, shades adjusted and more. It was also a treat to be in the room when this occurred as the staff was so so nice (big shot out to my girl Laqueita - so sorry if I misspell your name). Montage Palmetto Bluff is such a beautiful place . I love the big Oak trees and spooky Spanish moss. It felt like I was staying on the romantic set of The Notebook. This was probably my best and worst vacation ever. I've stayed at many resorts around the world and all the high budge hotels but this one runs on Southern time. I really do want to come again and give it another chance but it needs improvement. Here's how it went. Restaurants- Octagon was my favorite for breakfast and family dinners. You have to try the low country rice grits here with scrabble eggs. In the evening grab a drink at the bar and socialize around the live music. If you want a romantic dinner for two eat at the Canoe Club. For a fun night with the family go bowling at Cole's and eat some bbq. My least favorite was Buffalo's because the service was way very, very slow and the servers were low-key rude. Activities- I highly suggest cruising along the May River and watching all the dolphins swim by. My family did a Paige Island excursion and you can skip that. The private island itself was very, very boring. The island had canoes, fishing poles and tubing but you could do that anywhere else. Shooting at the gun range was really fun and thrilling. The instructors were very calm and amazing teachers. The only downside is was waiting over 30+ mins for a shuttle in the blistering heat and getting bit by bugs. Room- I stayed in "The Inn" and it was very small. But it didn't really matter because the resort had so much to offer you don't want to stay in your room at all. I loved that there was a back patio and view of the water. Multiple times the house keepers would forget their cleaning rag in my room lol Shuttles- Horrible wait times and I want to say it's unacceptable. If you know your guest is done with their activities a shuttle should be waiting or at least no more than 10 mins late. I know with the pandemic they may or may not be short staffed. Guest pay lots of money to stay here and the shuttles should be of convenience. The plus side is Montage do offer loaner cars for free. So it was nice to drive myself out of the resort and explore Hilton Head and Bluffton. I highly recommend visiting the Bluffton Thursday Farmers Market and Captain Woody's for a local lunch. Biking- you can checkout a free bicycle to get around and cruise. It felt so amazing to ride pass all the trees and scenic views. But it was horrible to get my bike stolen. Even with your name tag on it, it can and will get swiped. One of my family member got his biked taken everyday until they ran out of bikes to give him. I felt so bad because he was very frustrated. Pros: bowling, biking, fishing, boating, shooting, horseback riding, restaurants, RT Market, s'mores, free loaner car, Alligators, American history, urban farmhouses and dining at Octagon. We decided to spend a weekend here and boy we were blown away! Service is excellent! They provide ride to pretty much wherever but may be good to walk around or bike around. There is really a lot to see and do. Everywhere you go in Bluffton is kid friendly which we truly appreciate Pool is heated. They offer cookies and some drinks in the afternoon. We stayed at a cottage and my favorite part is the steam bath! For the restaurant, we had dinner at Riverhouse. I couldn't find the restaurant is in yelp so i am posting it here. Recommend to reserve ahead. The Oxtail is our favorite appetizer but to be honest everything is tastes good and well prepared! Please consider this place when visiting the area!!!! read more

This place is absolutely incredible! Palmetto Bluff is incredible and the Montage is incredible. I visited the Montage Palmetto Bluff for lunch. We decided on the pool side restaurant because it was such a nice day and we wanted to be outside. I ordered the jicama and pineapple salad with mahi-mahi. The salad was incredibly small but tasty. I do wish our server would've mentioned how small the jicama and pineapple salad was. In any case the atmosphere, surroundings, grounds and service are second to none at this six star hotel. If you have the opportunity to visit overnight or just for lunch or dinner I highly recommend experiencing the Montage at Palmetto Bluff. This place is incredibly pricey though you get what you pay for! read more

So this place is very very nice... It is not my typical hotel as this is pricey but they take care to place emphasis on attention to detail....every detail! Little things such as water in the room, ice in the ice bucket when you arrive in the room, espresso with real creamer in the fridge, short bread cookies with a dipping spread in the room as you a arrive, dimmer lights in the bathroom, tilted mirrors, light switches you can easily reach when in bed to turn off the lights, plugs which are at an appropriate height next to your bedside table( and they are stable and work!), nightly turn down service and so on, and so on. The rooms are clean , super comfortable and very quiet,-- we could not hear the outside or next door occupants at all. Shower has two shower heads one is stationary and the other is removable. Grounds are immaaculate! This is similar to the Biltmore but in the low country of SC. Only "bad " part .. toliet paper is a bit "rough"...lol AND YES the staff is being safe and practicing social distancing and wearing masks . Although some of the guests aren't.. read more

Like no place I've ever stayed! Loved my 2 nights here. The place is clean and upscale in a comfortable way. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. There are two beautiful outdoor pools, restaurants, fire pits etc. The suite I stayed in had a lagoon view, and I ate breakfast on the balcony each morning. I highly recommend the Brussels sprout hash. The suite was well appointed, spacious and very clean! I loved taking a bubble bath each day after riding bikes or kayaking or riding in the boat and spotting dolphin in the May River (salt water) with captain Hunter. Beautiful views. Outdoor dining. Golf cart pick-ups to transport you if you need. Complimentary bikes to use to get around the grounds. Not enough time to take in all of the amenities. A special place. Is 6 or 7 stars allowed?! Service, food, vibe, decor, and grounds were all waaaaay above average, superb even! Service- the attention to detail in every aspect of your stay is remarkable. From the moment we entered through the main gates took the valet closed our door to leave, we were addressed by name, and so well taken care of. Concierge was super helpful and personable 24/7. Their ability to anticipate our needs was everything. Offering water every time you are at valet, remembering names after dining several times and grabbing ice to put in the cooler without us asking( for our ride home). I sure hope they treat their staff well, because everyone we encountered was polite, attentive, and knowledgeable about all the resorts offerings. Food- each dish that was put in front of us was well seasoned, a large portion size and creatively plated. You could tell the pride and thought the chef takes in their dishes. The salmon on corn cakes, Cobb salad, breakfast sandwich, and short ribs were standout favorites. S'mores at the fire pit at night were clutch. Spa- talk about pure relaxation. The massage was so relaxing I fell asleep. HydraFacial so good, my face had a glow for close to a week. And the spa area was clean, fresh smelling and romantically and simply decorated. All guests have access to the hot tub, adults only pool, sauna, and relaxation room. Grounds- the main entrance was still a 10 minute drive from the lobby. The grounds were green, lush, perfectly manicured, swings, golf, corn hole, small market, chairs, kayaks, and so much more. A shuttle can drive you around, or hop on a bike, or walk this southern paradise. It's just so serine. Room- the rooms were a large size, plush bedding, bathroom huge with a tub, mini bar and snack fully stocked, and room service or the concierge are at your fingertips. Set in 20,000 acres of wildlife-rich, green surroundings of Palmetto Bluff, this Montage resort was a wonderful setting for our trip in late June, despite the heat and humidity. Concierge and Activities: 5/5 Cassie, a biologist who leads the nature walk and boat tour, is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the abundant wildlife you can see at this resort. Alligators, herons, spoonbills, anhingas - these are some of the animals you'll see regularly around the resort and it's amazing to learn about all of them! We also learned about Spanish moss, the gorgeous and stately oak trees throughout the property, palmettos, myrtles, and more. I highly recommend both of Cassie's tours. Restaurant: 2/5 Octagon is the main restaurant, and it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The quality of food is fine, but the service needs major help. They are clearly understaffed, and the few staff members who are there are either untrained or currently in training. Dishes were frequently brought to the wrong tables (I experienced this during breakfast and dinner service), there was often a more than 15 min wait for a table despite the restaurant only being about 25% full, and overall service was very slow (expect another 15-20 minute wait for the food or the bill to arrive). For better food and service, we enjoyed the Canoe Club much more! Room service: 1/5 This was by far the most disappointing part of the trip. I feel bad for the staff at the resort because there is - no joke - only ONE person doing room service. Another couple, as well as me and my partner, all called at 6:00 PM to schedule room service to be delivered to our room at 6:00 AM before their tee time the next morning (12 hours in advance). The next morning, all four of us did not receive our orders until 6:20 AM. For 20 minutes all of us were calling the front desk, in-room dining, literally anyone at the resort, and no one picked up. By 6:20 AM there was barely any time left to enjoy breakfast as the boys had to leave for their tee time. Furthermore the entire order was wrong - we had ordered an oatmeal, a small order of pancakes and two eggs "your way" with sides. The order ended up being 3 orders of 3 types of pancakes (9 total pancakes) and oatmeal. My entire order of eggs was forgotten. Thankfully they waived the order but this was such an unnecessarily stressful experience. I have never had issues with scheduling room service ahead, not at Hilton Airport hotels, not at hotels that are half the nightly rate of this resort. Getting around: 3/5 There are a few ways to get around the resort: walk, bike, or golf cart shuttle. Many things are walkable but in the late June heat, not very realistic. I did some biking, but it still takes some effort to walk to the Recreation Center near the River House (15 mins), rent a beach-cruiser-style bike, then bike in the heat around the resort (takes more effort than you think)! Golf cart shuttles are the most efficient, but the wait for a golf cart especially at peak times can range from 10-20 minutes. Again, the major issue is being understaffed. There are some exemplary staff members working on the resort, but they can't do everything, and they are few and far between unfortunately. Front desk/Accommodations: 4/5 Once again, if you're able to reach the front desk, they are accommodating and friendly. But there are multiple times where you won't be able to reach them -- when other people are checking in, phones will be ignored. Rooms were basic and clean, but some things were out of place - our request to have more facial tissues was ignored, and the tissue box was left empty, the bathroom was clean but there were a few critters (mosquitoes and other bugs) which may have been inevitable, and amenities are basic Nespresso machine). I will say that the mini madeleines (with a side of bourbon milk jam) upon arrival were great. Overall: 15/25 or 3/5 stars I understand the problems of being understaffed, but for being a five star hotel brand, Montage really needs to step it up. I will really have to pause before staying at another Montage resort in the future. read more

This is one of my favorite places for a little R&R getaway. It's quiet, illusive, private (tucked away off a dirt road, you would need to come here intentionally). Montage is an excellent hotel brand and the top level quality and service is definitely noted here. Beautiful grounds and amenities. Southern Grace and Hospitality at its finest. I can think of no better way to chalk up my 600th review than to recall our five days of pampered bliss at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff. They were seriously on top of everything in a prompt and helpful way that outdoes even the Ritz or FS. Which, if you've had that Hendrix experience, is no small task. A quick check in at the gate and a winding drive to the banks of the May River and we pulled up to the warm, by name greetings at the Inn. Check in and confirmation of our dinner and spa packages and we were on our way. We were shuttled to our cottage, which sat on the edge of the resort's lagoon right across from the rookery. The cottage was quaint, romantic, fully stocked and loaded with just about any touch you could think of. Wine and fruit waiting on us, nice! Full fridge, wet bar and Keurig coffee machine. King bed with Frette linens that I could, and pretty much did, sleep forever in. Modern AV touches like flatscreen, surround speakers all through the unit including speakers in the bathrooms. The bath had Frette robes, plush towels, a double sink, vanity, huge soaker tub and a three headed steam shower. We had a big dressing room with ample space for all our luggage. Our huge screened in patio faced the lagoon and I often spent some early hours just relaxing out there with a cup of Joe watching just about every kind of wading bird there is fly around. Each cottage has a pair of bikes for you use during your stay. Or you could be lazy and get a cart. No cars allowed on the resort grounds. By no means did we simply hang out in our room, although we easily could have. There always seemed to be some kind of activity going on around the resort and we took advantage of most of what they offered. We chartered a boat one morning and went out bass fishing, where my wife caught her first fish. We had so much fun and caught three that morning. Trolleys took us to the Moreland where a lowcountry boil was served up with a nice buffet for Independence Day. There was an evening booze cruise that we did on the May aboard the Grace, where dolphins jumped in front of the bow. We also rode the bikes all over the place and took in the relaxing lowcountry scenery. The spa was amazing. The treatments were part of our package and the exfoliation scrub was the best part. The masseuses were some of the best we've had. Palmetto Bluff has a partnership with Mercedes and you can take out any of their four cars for the day. Yes, take them out all by yourself. Take that W Acura experience. Since someone had selfishly reserved the convertible, which stayed parked up front the entire time, we ended up with the E550 sedan. It was a beautiful car and fun to drive on our daytrip to nearby Bluffton. Could there be a Mamba 2.0 in our future? Our package also included three course dinners at the River House Restaurant. Service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Beets salad, crab salad, scallops, grouper, rib eye and vegetable gumbo were some of the things we had. Dessert were great too. And if that wasn't enough, you could always do smores at any of the three fire pits that were set up nightly. Probably the part of our stay that I'll remember the most was the scenery and wildlife. An armadillo seemed to be cruising around outside our cottage and we saw him a few times. Yes, they have those in SC. We spotted gators and dolphins in the waters about the resort. Without question the best part was taking my coffee out on the pier and watching the sunrise over the water. Wildlife was just everywhere. It was low tide and the buffet was open. I watched a heron, gator, rays, crabs, dolphins, a shark, and a family of raccoons go through the oyster beds and low waters eating what they could. It was so cool! A five star review has never been this easy to give. It was earned as soon as I arrived feeling transported back to colonial times, albeit very upscale and modern colonial times. The architecture of every home, cottage, restaurant and shop gives the feel of a quaint town in the 1800s. Inside all of these structures is every amenity and top notch service you would expect from a five diamond resort. The staff bends over backward to make sure your needs are met and exceeded. For accommodations that have cottages as well as homes large enough to handle any size group or family. The cottages are one bedroom but every cottage runs about 1100 sq ft! Huge beautiful rooms, screened back porch, gorgeous bathroom with steam shower, and every cottage comes with two bikes! Everyone rides bikes (each cottage comes with 2) all over the resort. They have a nice restaurant called Buffalo's for great breakfast and lunch. The restaurant at the Inn cranks out unbelievably good lunches and dinners. The soups and desserts were especially memorable. Dining options are The Inn, Buffalo's and also The Canoe Club, all offer first class service and top notch cooking. The resort has a really nice market a short bike ride away from the town square featuring any food or toiletries you could need but this is not your average hotel store as they also have a great selection of wine, beer, gourmet cheeses and charcuterie. Across from the market is an awesome multistory tree house for kids featuring slides, a hammock and a zip line! The spa is also not to be missed as the massage I received ranks as the very best I have ever received and was the shared consensus of about 10 of us. This is the nicest resort I have ever had the pleasure to visit and I would love to come back again! read more

Very nice property and rooms are great. Had my charger stolen by the maids. They do room cleanings at 8:30 pm which is very strange and I was only here for an event for the day. I've stayed at many hotels and have never had housekeeping come in the evening. read more

This was such a special trip and such a special place, I already booked our return for Thanksgiving. I would like to recognize Heather, who is an unbelievable employee of the montage Palmetto Bluff. She went above and beyond to make this trip extra special for me, my wife and my children. Thank you so much Heather. My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary as well as a needed family getaway. Heather did everything to make sure our stay was perfect. The pool staff, including Jennifer and Courtney, were amazing!!! All of the employees at octagon were amazing, especially Bunny. The bartenders at Coles were fantastic. Beautiful location set on historic grounds surrounded by natural beauty. We spent 4 nights here and never ran out of fun things to do and great places to eat. The resort is located 15 minutes from some Blufftons fine restaurants and shops. The only shortcoming is their Spa and Spa amenities (steam room sauna etc) which are not available unless a Spa treatment is scheduled. The service throughout was five star! read more

I can't imagine why anyone would want to waste their money here. terrible food, service, dead flowers and dirty scratched up tables. We've been waiting for our breakfast for over 30 minutes and we're the only people in the restaurant. it seems like Montage could find some classier dinnerware too! Kevin White, Bill, Joshua, and our massage therapists during our couples massage were the ABSOLUTE best. Never have I ever stayed somewhere where I felt absolutely at home! Montage Palmetto Bluff made our stay memorable from the cute welcoming cards in our room to the golf cart ride giving us a tour of the property (it's HUGE). Words cannot express how magnificent this property is. The professional video on their site is the real deal. Let's begin with the professionalism of the staff and management. They treat their guests with the utmost respect and if there is an issue they will go out of their way to solve it. I am a neat freak when it comes to resorts and this one was in mint condition my entire 3 night stay. I had all the comforts of home including the Nespresso machine with complimentary creamer in the room (not the powdered stuff), full size shampoos/soaps readily available, robes and slippers, and a fully stocked mini fridge. The amenities were spectacular! From the zen spa to sightseeing the grounds by bike to a gorgeous boat ride on the river it's all right there. There's something for everyone. This place a hidden gem. From the moment you enter the property you start to feel relaxed. The grounds are beautiful. We were greeted outside and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The room facing the lagoon simply breathtaking, spacious and clean. The regular room the carpet was soiled, one the bedpost seemed broken otherwise we were happy with the room. The bathroom very spacious - inviting for a soak. There's plenty to do on the property. Come to spend some time, you won't be disappointed. Not to be missed the s'mores by the fire. They have six different kinds of marshmallows... Can't wait to come back. FYI, if you are a big family they have beautiful homes to accommodate everyone. read more

Palmetto Bluff is an unique vacation experience in the south. It's about a 30 minute drive from the Savannah, GA airport. It is more of a community than a resort. Imagine a picturesque small town in a southern plantation like what you would read in William Faulkner's books or see in John Grisham movies. Instead of hotel rooms, Palmetto Bluff consists of a number of well-appointed cottages and houses owned by individuals, who bought them as vacation homes (many of them cost millions of dollars), but managed by Montage. The cottages are available for rent when the owners are not occupying them. You can book a single room (all suites) in one of the cottages or an entire cottage or home ranging from 1300 to 5000 sq ft. Typical amenities of staying at a regular resort is available; such as housekeeping and in room dining. Each property is also equipped with 2 bikes and a golf cart for you to get around the expansive property. There are a number of restaurants, markets and shops and there a many options for recreational activities including golf, fishing, paddle-boarding, boating, skeet shooting, horseback riding, etc. If all of that is not enough you can also drive into Savannah for more options.
