We were driving through Bluffton on our way from Hilton Head to Savannah, stopped for a quick bite, and were so taken by the charm of this darling town, we decided to stay for the night. The owner of one of the AMAZING restaurants (shout out to Crudo!) encouraged us to see if the Bluffton Inn had any availability. They did. What a great Inn! Garret at the hotel was so warm and welcoming. He also made a phenomenal Old Fashioned ;) The rooms were spacious,. clean, and lovely. The customer service really top notch. Felt like we discovered a hidden gem from "yesteryear" when customer service was valued and important. We live on the West Coast, but when we make our way back to SC, will definitely return to the Old Town Bluffton Inn.

This place just recently opened. I have one word for it... FABULOUS!! The general manager Chelsea and some of her associates were there to greet us and show us around a little bit. We met the owner, Larry. What a great sense of humor. From the minute you walk into the wonderfully adorned lobby, you will feel welcome and see what great care and detail was put into this place. The area is full of interesting galleries, shops, restaurants and bars. Check out my review on Old Town Bluffton and see for yourself. Thanks to Chelsea, Larry and the fabulous man who first greeted us. We can't wait to stay here soon!!!

Impeccably appointed, incredibly clean! Vince and Danielle made it feel like we were being welcomed home. I can't forget to mention "Camo", the cutest little maltipoo that we would've taken home with us if they would've let us! We will definitely be back!

Our arrival coincided with a robust local festival and gaining admittance to the parking lot was going to be a challenge. Hotel staff were very helpful in directing us. Chelsea who my husband described as "cute as a button" took us to our room making sure to replenish the snack offering in our room. When you are hungry but is tooooo early for dinner, having a snack is welcome. The attention to detail throughout the building far SURPASSES large name hotels (Hilton and Marriott). They could take lessons. From the lobby and period style furnishings, the lounge area are warm and inviting. Seating areas are plentiful and encourage conversation with the guests. After perusing the street fair and our arrival back at the hotel, a lovely chat with "Larry" along with a glass of wine. A very pleasant and welcome respite before dinner. Larry it turns out is the owner and builder responsible for the design of the Old Town Bluffton Inn. It shows. The building is only 6 months old yet looks period. His attention to detail is superb. From the period furnishings in the lobby which are warm, comfortable and inviting, the hotel staff, our own private balcony where you can enjoy a glass of wine, the very plush room furnishings (top quality), the marble soap dish, the on/off knob for the shower is separate (wall) from the shower head, the cabinetry in the bathroom, the drapes to keep the heat of the day out, to the breakfast area in the lobby (self serve) and every conceivable item to break your fast (boiled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, juice, water, breads and condiments). Larry has thought of everything... and it shows. He was also open to suggestions as to how he might improve upon guest.comfort. What a delightful change of pace from large chain hotels and where the guest is just another turn and burn. P.S. the Inn is pet friendly

I just had to let you know. The atmosphere at your venue was simple, but beautiful. Everything was set up and ready when we arrived. The food was super yummy and I went for two helpings! Not to mention two helpings of dessert as well! I was most impressed with the staff who waited on us. They were so very attentive, especially to the bride-to-be. I wish I had asked for their names as they were on-point during our whole event. Every drink was filled and refilled, the food station was carefully watched to keep it neat, and they even helped with carrying the gifts and picking up the wrapping paper. They made the bride-to-be feel like a queen! I walked out with a smile on my face to see such good service (oh, and I took a salted-caramel brownie for the ride home)! Well done Venue 1223! Any event I have, you'll be first on my list to host! Many thanks for the most enjoyable day!

The outdoor area was nicely lit for the holidays. They set up only 1 bar with 2 bartenders to handle over 60 people. They did a pretty good job keeping up. The credit card charges show Downtown Deli as the business owner and not Venue 1223 (probably owned by Downtown Deli). The food was pretty good. They had people serving Hors D'oeuvres which were a charcuterie in a cup, spring rolls, chicken, etc. The main course was either chicken, beef or specialty vegetarian dish which my wife ordered. It was basically a power bowl and looked pretty good with long strips of portabella mushrooms over salad with lots of quinoa and vegetables. My chicken was a bit dry and tough. The inside is a large open area for tables, a DJ and a dance floor. The staff was friendly and did a great job keeping food and people moving.

We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.

Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!
