Staying at the Forsyth Park Inn was the cherry on top of an incredible trip to Savannah. We were going back and forth between staying in an inn like this or an airbnb but I am SO happy we ended up here. What you'll love: Location! They are right across the street from Forsyth Park. You'll want to sit on the porch with your coffee, breakfast, wine, book, whatever and people watch any downtime you get. The house and all of the rooms are so beautiful. We stayed in room 6 and loved every bit of it. The AC worked well, the bed was comfortable. It had all of the old charm you'll be looking for with all the modern comforts. Breakfast is served every morning & there is wine hour every evening. Because it was soooo hot when we were there, the wine hour was a good excuse to get back to the inn, shower up and relax a little before dinner every night. Oh, and sweet tea on tap. The staff were all so helpful, friendly and welcoming! Big thank you to Dwayne and Gary. As with most places in this area of Savannah, you can walk nearly anywhere. Location is everything and this place is located perfectly. Literally across the street from Forsyth Park which is just breathtakingly beautiful. What a view while sitting on the front porch during happy hour. You can walk every where within the historic district. (However, I don't get visiting in the summer and will never make that mistake again. I'm from the south and found the heat and humidity oppressive.) I do have mixed feelings about this B&B though. The staff were most definitely 5 stars. Each person was friendly, helpful, and just so happy! The overall experience though was lacking and I think it was all just meh. The breakfast was okay, the coffee was terrible - and I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I couldn't even drink it. The room wasn't as clean as it should've been. The pillow case had a stain on it. Gross. I understand stains happen but then it should be retired from rotation. The shower curtain was also moldy and needs to be replaced. The bed was comfortable but the quilt was, again, just meh. I sent this to the Inn: I reserved a room for my daughter and son in law last Sunday. We were excited for them to experience this airbnb as my husband and I fell more in love there! After she arrived home she shared that there were dead bugs on the floor, which prompted her to under the bed and dressers and found dirt and hair. The boxspring was broken on their bed, so they moved to another bed and both kept falling off the sides. She said she felt like she was in a movie and about to get murdered when she was walked into the basement room. This was not my experience and I feel so incredibly disappointed. How could this be when we pay $300+ dollars? I truly was doing something special for a young couple? The ANSWER: We are sorry and we will give you a 10% discount if you come by that way again. I'm disappointed as we were returning customers. Furthermore, at the very least - I expect a high end room to be clean. But, broken box springs and poor mattresses at $300+ a pop? I was further told that they should have told them and they would have corrected - Well a room should be clean - period. They probably did not know bed problems until late and they were getting in them. I specifically wrote to the Inn prior to visit, that I'd like this to be a special time for them. We were a group of 3 and this was our first trip to Savannah. We booked Room #3 and had a great view of Forsyth Park. I've always wanted to visit and stay at a historic B&B. This place was wonderful. Beautiful entrance, floor to ceiling windows (doors) in the parlor/breakfast area. Dewayne, Gary, and Lyv were all nice and helpful when we asked for recommendations. Daily: Different breakfast and you could choose the time you wanted to eat. Happy hour with wine, coffee, hot tea and an appetizer. Dessert in the evening. & 24/7 cold water and sweet tea! Downside: If you have mobility issues, the historic district will be difficult to navigate. I use a walker and oxygen and did manage the stairs okay to get inside. Glad I called ahead and made sure they had a room on the main floor so no stair climbing inside. read more

Highly recommend!! My husband and I had an amazing weekend here at the end of June. The location of the inn is perfect- across the street is Forsyth Park and within walking distance to cute little restaurants, shops, beautiful architecture and historical squares. The staff was so friendly, helpful and accommodating! I forgot to mention that I'm a vegetarian upon booking but they had no problem accommodating my dietary restrictions. We loved having breakfast on the front porch. Also, the lime cake-delicious! We stayed in room 7 and it exceeded our expectations. I loved the claw foot tub and my plumber husband thought the old pull chain toilet was so cool. I love the quirky, old details of this beautiful inn. Had a wonderful stay here celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. We spent three days in Savannah and the Inn was perfect for sightseeing and walking around town. Our room was beautifully appointed and loved our sitting area. Bathrobes nice extra touch. Snacks and later the desserts and coffee on the porch was really enjoyable after a long day of sightseeing and miles of walking. Breakfast was just the right amount of food delivered to our table in the large porch overlooking the park. All the Hosts were great to talk to and gave great suggestions on places to eat. Highly recommend and hope to go back one day. Our niece goes to SCAD and has been telling us about how neat Savanah is and we must agree we absolutely loved our trip here. read more

We had the nicest stay here. Built in 1893, historic and quaint inn. Every room is different, and we got to see most of them, all beautiful. Room 11 has a clawfoot tub and the shower was difficult to use but thats ok. All the beds were comfy. Rooms decorated with antiques and antique furniture. Very quiet though floors are creaky as you would expect in an older house. Location is perfect, directly on Forsyth Park, and an easy walk all the way to the waterfront if you follow Bull Street. There is a free dot bus stop right there and an easy two minute walk across the park to grab one of the sightseeing trolleys (which they sell tickets for right there in the Inn). If you are looking for authentic, historic hotel, and not the box type hotel, this is the place for you. Nice to sit on tbe porch and watch the park activities. Farmers market in the park on Saturdays. No restaurant or bar in the hotel but you can choose from complimentary continental breakfast or a hot, sit down breakfast, both if which are included and lovely. Afternoon snacks and beverages (includes wine) in the afternoon on the porch and an evening dessert, all included. Bottles of water provided in the rooms. Tv's in the room. Nice courtyard with a coy pind to enjoy. Go to their website and see the different room options available, photos inclyded, so you know what you are getting. The service is impecable, everyone aims to please and are so helpful, friendly. This beautiful old mansion B&B is located across the street from the Forsyth Park close to dozens of great restaurants, coffee houses, shops and historic sites. Our room is very comfortable and roomy. I particularly like the layout with the jacuzzi tub and bathroom in separate sections. The friendly staff are most helpful with information about old mansions and churches to visit as well as good restaurants, etc. The breakfasts are very good and snacks are provided all day. My wife and I plan on staying here when we return to this area. I highly recommend this lovely place. read more

We arrived at 10:00 PM. Front door was locked, no one at front desk. Had to bang on door and eventually a guest opened for us. Once inside, I found an envelop on front desk counter with our party's name. Inside was room key. Later talked with manager. An email had been sent with front door combination, but I never received it. Apparently the Booking app does not relay emails efficiently between proprietors and guests. read more

Gorgeous B&B right next to the park in the historic district. At sunset you can sit on the balcony overlooking the park and people-watch, have complimentary wine and snacks and make new friends! Whole house is gorgeous, but my room was magical. Literally! Had a knock on the door and I answered to nobody there. I walked all around looking for who it was but gave up and went back to my room: Room Five. When I got back the large solid wooden door opened three feet by itself. Yes this place is haunted. And absolutely gorgeous. Parking was free and readily available but you better know how to parallel park! Staff was the best. I hated to bother them for something I needed. Great place. I'd say go. I couldn't been more happy with this place. Not only is it beautiful but the staffs are all adorable.. Located across for the Forsyth Park in the historic district downtown Savannah. I haven't had a vacation in a year. When I made my reservation, Jerry handle it with ease. And he tolerate my blah, blah about this being my 1st vacation for 2014. Our check in was very pleasant.. Jerry E. knows the history of that house including the ghost stories of course. Our room 5 is the biggest (I think) but the way I remembering, it's definitely the most romantic. King size bed with a whirl pool. We arrived just in time for Savannah Restaurants week. Jerry have printed info on which restaurants took part and I noticed some are X out. So I asked him, are those no longer taking reservations? His answer 1) those are ok 2) those are not local 3) why would you come all the way to Savannah to eat at chain restaurants. I truly appreciated his honesty!! And it's true, I didn't drive 4 hrs from Charlotte NC to eat at chain restaurants. There's also Daphne C. Young and bright with a great sense of humor. She customer service is on point, attentive and thoughtful all in one. Her ghosts stories is something else tho.. When you see her, please ask her about the $1.42 ghost story. She will have you rolling on the floor from laughing.. Then there's Dwayne E. He handles our breakfasts when we were there. Very laid back, somewhat quiet. He had a nice flow about him. Nice guy to have to greet you in the morning.. If you want to know about BBQ, ask him. He knows what he's talking about. I looking forward to our breakfast every morning. And I'm not usually a breakfast person. Starbucks hold me over til lunch.. But omg, their breakfast was awesome and pretty. Will attached some pics. Love this place feel like coming home to Lori, Duane, Andrea, Jerry, and Daphne (also gave us a ride to the Pink House without expecting reward) Please keep in mind and the reason I even mention the following is some of the poor reviews were from customers who must never have stayed in a turn of the 20th century B&B before expected it to be sound proof, It has single pane ROLLED GLASS windows that are beautiful. They are not the best for quietness but if your expecting to sleep the day away and not see Savannah as most do ask them for one of the basement Rooms or the cottage on the back for quiet. The breakfast is not bland but if you set your expectations high and count on this being your one meal of the day then it is not filling. Think of it as a great light way to get moving and to get out into Savannah proper to enjoy this beautiful city, Breakfast is to get you moving and to the better extraordinary Lunches at some of the wonderful eating establishments within walking distance of this Beautiful B&B. You will once you get out there be walking a lot the wife and I were out there probably 6.5 hrs and ate at Zunzi's (Yum) and Vinny Van Go go's(Cash Only), Pink House, Vic's etc. The architecture is beautiful the neighborhoods are beautiful, the city of Savannah is beautiful. So go home, see the gang tell them Rick & Martha sent you then relax with the appetizers in the evening enjoy conversation with the staff and guest. This is meant to be a way station on your travels to see and explore Savannah and not be a buffet style breakfast you find at the cheaper hotels to bring you in. Stayed here one night with high expectations which unfortunately were not met fully. Location was wonderful. Staff were helpful and very pleasant. Really loved the the front porch area. What wasn't so great? Only way in was a steep outdoor staircase. Room was ok but bathroom was not super clean- some hair on floor and black stuff between tiles in shower. Faucet in sink as well as shower were loose. And shower floor was very slippery. After showering water starting pouring down from ceiling vent above shower. Like a heavy rain. We called manager who was there within about 15 minutes (rain had stopped) and went to the room upstairs where he plunged their toilet and removed apparently tons of toilet paper and a towel! He then came back down and took away our wet towels that we had used to soak up the water on the bathroom floor and gave us new ones. He was nice and apologetic. Bed was very high and not very comfy. AC unit blew intermittently and so it was either very cold (when blowing) or warm. Evening happy hour was nice- the chicken dip was very good - wine was meh. Dessert and coffee was a tasty lime Bundt cake. There was cold water and sweetened tea available all the time. Our frozen ice pack was put in a freezer for us which we appreciated. Breakfast was disappointing- salmon croquettes (not good), tasteless scrambled eggs and grits. Little barely baked muffins wrapped in plastic. Granola was good. So all in all we would not come back. read more

The food was always tastey, the rooms were always clean, and it was full of souther charm right down to the sweet tea always made and iced in the hall. I had my wedding on August 30th, and I cannot thank Bobbie Jo enough for all of her help and support from the months before planning right down to the moment I took my last breath before I walked down the aisle. Great service from the minute we arrived, they are in a great location and even greater price compare to everything they offer you! the hospitality that they gave us when we arrived was a 5 star, they took time showing us the map and pointing must go places and things to do on the area. OnThey asked what time we wanted the breakfast to be served and if we didn't eat anything specific, we told them and they made arrangements since we don't eat pork. We were there for breakfast at 9:30 am and had the outside seating which has an amazing view to the park. On the afternoon/ evening they had refreshments by the rooms, at 5pm they had wine and cheese but we didn't make for it, at 8pm they served tea, coffee and desserts, Would definitely recommend the place and definitely has i as a first option once we come back to Savannah, thanks Dwayne and for the great service. read more

Booked a month in advance with specific room in mind from photos we saw online. Very deceiving. Room was not what we expected at all. It was musty and pillows, bedspread and antiques throughout were in such need of cleaning. We coughed the entire time due to so much dust in the room. It was just an average room, though we were told it was used as a bridal suite. I have no idea how a bride could get to and from the bathroom. Doorway is not normal size and air conditioning unit was right next to it. Going to and from we ran into the unit almost every time. Curtain covered it, so it was in in view coming out. It just looked run down and let go. Courtyard was an eyesore. Not like how it looked in the photos online. Banister at the top of the steps was broken ( severely) and this is what you needed to grab going up and down. Stairs were steep, so this was really a hardship not being able to get a good grasp. First day of check in the female at the desk was matter of fact about things. Second day and the gentlemen we dealt with were much better. When we did see the same female later, as we left and returned not even a hello was offered , or how was your day. It was like , we got you checked in, so you are on your own. The parking was a nightmare, if you are elderly. We had to park a great distance and then had to move our car for street cleaning. The cocktail hour and dessert hours offered very little and were disappointing. The wine was terrible. It just seems to have been let go and did not have the charm, we hoped for from photos, and information provided in brochure type information. The street was noisy and so much traffic that took away from a quiet time on the porch. I had no idea the inn was on a major street. It took away from the ambience and quiet we thought we were going to enjoy. I just think you really need to do some comparing and looking around before booking this inn, based on online information and photos. The photos were much nicer than what you got when you arrived. read more

The staff is extremely welcoming and informative and all the guests were so pleasant - the location cannot be beat - right across the street from Forsyth Park and you can walk everywhere! I parked my car and never used it the entire time I was here. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five are the linens & towels ~ they need to be updated as they are a little tired & dingy ~ I would've expected crisper linens and more plush towels, but other than that everything else was just superb & I highly recommend Forsyth Park Inn. read more

We absolutely loved our stay at the historic Forsyth Park Inn in Savannah, Georgia. The staff Brittany, Tie, and Dwayne were all so friendly and accommodating and really added to the experience of staying in an inn. The breakfast every morning was superb, especially the blueberry pancakes and salmon croquettes. Homemade dessert was made every evening and available for guests in the parlor room. The rooms were very spacious, as well as right next to the park and short walking distance to the river. The room had a sound machine in it, which was awesome for sleeping and ice machine right outside our room. If we ever get a chance to come back, we will definitely be back! read more

Absolutely lovely stay! The location is perfect. Right across from the gorgeous Forsyth Park, about a 10 minute walk to the downtown/river area. The rooms are very quaint and if you want that old Savannah feel, this is the place to stay. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that our room was on the lower level and the noise coming from the room above us was pretty loud. Thrilled!! We left a quaint country B&B in Virginia for this gorgeous Victorian beauty as we toured through the South. Everything from the outstanding service of the accommodating professional staff to the amazing evening wine and southern snacks onto the plentiful, delightful breakfast and our ginormous room made for an incredible first visit to Savannah. We're health conscious, so we loved being almost a mile from the market. We opted for discovering Savannah on foot and were able to walk to all the hotspots from here. The location next to the beautiful Forsyth Park was idyllic and added to the overall charm. We heartily recommend this lovely Inn. This is the perfect location to stay in Savannah. The included hot breakfast was fabulous, French toast and sausage one day, shrimp and grits another, Happy hour with wine, dessert left at night. It is steps from the free bus line to take you into the squares of Savannah. Right on Forsyth Park, there's a restaurant in the park that serves coffee from their Togo window. The Inn Is beautiful. Original woodwork, 12' high doors. A small garden retreat. The staff are so helpful and can direct you anywhere you want to go. We stayed at the Inn for a long weekend (Thursday - Monday). It was a small group of four childhood friends, celebrating our 50th birthdays. Two of us arrived midday Thursday and were greeted by Dwayne, who kept us in conversation until Anna was finished with the folks ahead of us. Both Dwayne and Anna were friendly and personable. Anna was awesome! She was helpful in getting us familiar with the map of the historic district, and pointed us in the direction of a few points of interest (City Market, the Telfair Museums, Mata Hari's Speakeasy, restaurants, etc.), making note of the not-so-good places to stay away from. Anna appeared to be of college age, so I asked. She is, indeed, attending school, but majoring in a subject that is not service/hospitality related. Good luck to her, but with her outgoing personality and charm, she would be a great asset to any company that has a high-level of people interaction. Dwayne was always on hand for breakfast, making sure special dietary needs were met. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the house, and of the general Savannah area. One room had A/C problems, but Dwayne had a service technician in to check it out. Ended up having to get the unit replaced, which Dwayne handled professionally and through completion, keeping us updated throughout the process. We booked two rooms - Room 3 and Room 7. One was on the main floor, and one was upstairs. Both rooms had great views, and were spacious. The bathroom in one room could have used some updating and cleaning up (clumpy caulk, wallpaper that needed to be wiped down, at the very least). Both had adequate furnishings, appropriate in keeping with the history of the house. So, don't expect brand new, state of the art anything. But, again, it kept with the history. Breakfast was good each morning. Hot foods were cooked for us as we were seated. Also, cereal, juices, and other miscellaneous continental breakfast items were available on a buffet. The 5:00 social hour was good, although it was usually only our group in the parlor, consuming of various dips, spreads, and wine. And the evening dessert was always a treat after being out all day/night. I especially liked that it was kept available really late, maybe even until the morning. The only real complaint was that the common areas in the house were really hot. I would say maybe 10 or 15 degrees hotter than the room temperatures. With the humidity in the South, it was just not comfortable to sit in the parlor more than 30 minutes or so. Overall, though, I would recommend this Inn for anyone looking for a convenient, quaint, and welcoming place to stay in Savannah. Recommendations for dinner in the area would be the Crystal Beer Parlor, the Olde Pink House, and Vinnie van GoGo's for pizza (they only accept cash, though). And the Old Savannah Trolley Company does a great tour of the city. They are locally owned and operated, and not scripted. Each driver does his/her own research and comes up with his/her own routine and points of interest. If you're lucky, you'll get Jamie as a driver/historian! read more

Full of history and charm. We stayed in room 11 which has access to the garden courtyard. This is nice if you have a dog like we did. However there is no grass. Just cement and plants. Room 11 has a sitting room which is a step down from the bathroom and bedroom. While the room is full of charm, having to step down and then up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night was a pain. The food was good for breakfast, afternoon snack and night time dessert. You can sit on the balcony and people/dog watch the Forsyth Park. The staff is very nice and helpful. We especially liked Ty. read more

My stay at The Forsyth Park Inn was only my second B&B experience, the first only being the two nights prior. The Inn is absolutely beautiful, and the big win here is the view of Forsyth Park. We stayed in Room 1, which had the most amazing view of the park. With the azaleas in bloom, it was a very picturesque view. The staff are very kind and generous. We had several very positive interactions with the day manager that reflected impeccable guest service. The breakfast was amazing, and I love that they leave out the evening desserts until late at night for those midnight snacks when you've been out late. Some things to keep in mind is that this is not your average hotel experience. The room is large...probably too large for the AC unit. We needed a fan in the room for our late February stay. The room would benefit greatly from a ceiling fan, but I hear that additions like that to historic homes is quite difficult. Also, our room with the lovely view also meant that it faced a very busy street. I was awoken several times by loud trucks passing by during the night. While my stay at Forsyth Park Inn will forever be memorable because I was there for my wedding at Forsyth Park, I feel that I am probably too modern of a guest to fully enjoy what they have to offer. read more

Compared to the previous Bed and Breakfast we stayed in, Forsyth Park Inn is HUGE. The Inn staff is very friendly and the breakfast portion feels like an actual restaurant breakfast vs. the Continental style of some other hotels. Also nice is the fact that they leave dessert out all night until its replaced with Coffee in the morning so if you come back late from a Ghost Tour, there will be a treat for you before bed. Now, the bad: The rooms, while huge, are very hot. Even with the AC we needed a fan in our room to be comfortable sleeping and this was in FEBRUARY. I can't imagine what a visit in June might be like in humid Savannah! The staff was amazing. Our flight left late Thursday, not only did they let us keep our bags there for the day they invited us back for happy hour. Forsyth Park Inn - Breakfast by the fire. - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Savannah, Georgia

Came here a couple months ago on our honeymoon and man... I gotta say this place was awesome! We stayed during the week, so the rate we got was very reasonable. They serve breakfast made from scratch every morning as well as dessert in the evening. The rooms are beautiful and have a lot of character. The innkeeper on duty when we arrived was amazing. (I think his name was Ty) He was super helpful and gave us a rundown of the city and great recommendations on what to do while we were there. All that said, I can't quite give it a 5 star rating as the cleanliness of the rooms was lacking. I seemed they were overdue on recalling the bathrooms, repairing various damaged items, and then dusting and cleaning various parts of our room. Keeping a place this large and intricate pristine is both time consuming and expensive though. I can't say it was enough to make us feel uncomfortable, but was even to be noticed multiple times. Overall, I would highly recommend the Forsyth Inn. read more

The property is beautiful and in a great location. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfast was good. The room was spacious, but not a lot of desk/table space. The bathroom left a bit to be desired and is really the biggest negative. The claw foot tub was a nice period touch, but when showering, it was small and no matter what I did, I couldn't keep the shower curtain from touching me...big pet peeve. We did have a roof leak at 10 pm our first night, but what do you expect with a 100+ year old house? The staff was apologetic and mentioned the roof was being replaced on Monday. I stayed at Forsyth Park Inn for two nights. The Inn is really big compared to most. The decor resembles much of the same decor as the other Inns in the area. The best part is probably the view of Forsyth Park. Sitting out by the porch in the afternoon with the fabulous view of the park was lovely. The beds were super comfortable and unlike most of the other reviews I did not have any problems with the A/C in my room. The cons: They do not offer a variation of options for breakfast, there is only one and it changes daily. However, their coffee is good. I've stayed at other BnBs before where the coffee was horrendous and that was not the case here. You also have the beautiful view of the park to admire as you enjoy your breakfast so that makes it all worth it. Most of the people on staff were really nice and attentive. However, there was one guy who was really awkward and kind of annoying. He's the one who greeted us when we arrived at the Inn for our check in. He was not friendly. When we arrived he was typing away on his computer and made us wait for about 2 minutes (until he was done typing) to acknowledge us. He didn't even get up from his chair to show us to our room. During our afternoon tea he lingered about the Inn talking to guests. Which would have been fine if he wasn't rambling on and on about his dietary needs and specifications. When he walked back inside the couple that had been speaking with him look at us and said "that guy is so weird!". Bottom line: the Inn is gorgeous and the view of the park in picturesque. However, for the price I was expecting a little more. I have stayed at other Bed and Breakfasts in Savannah before that were better and this one just didn't meet my expectations. read more
