Beautiful little B&B in a very central location in Savannah, GA. First time in Savannah and this was a perfect walkable spot. Only has 2 parking spots that are first come first serve, otherwise if it is a busy booking time you have to pay for street parking just an FYI. Room was adorable and very clean. So nice to have waters left for us and plenty of towels. Bed was extremely comfortable in the Royal Palm Suite. Food was spectacular and a highlight for sure. Not only was the breakfast so nicely made and prepared, but there were contestant drinks, coffee, wine, snacks and desserts 24/7 for the taking. Amazing oatmeal white chocolate chip crasin cookies I died for. One thing is I wished the time for breakfast was longer. It is served 8:30-9:30am. Hoped it would be longer than an hour. I recommend they extend it to 10am or make it a full 2 hours 8-10am. A slight extension I think would give guests more time and it definitely is the highlight of the stay. This was my first B&B experience and I don't think I'll ever want to stay in a traditional hotel ever again! Rob and Angela were so warm, welcoming, and just amazing people and they made us feel right at home. The property was so beautiful and in the perfect location, the room was spacious and stunning, the breakfasts were absolutely delicious and almost too beautiful to eat!!!! The dogs, Oscar and Harry were also a delight to have around--we were obsessed with them and asked Rob and Angela to let them run around a bit so we could play with them! This is a nice place for your Savannah sojourn. I'll break the review up into sections so you can skip to the info you seek: Location: I think it's a perfect location. If you don't mind walking (which you shouldn't mind, if you want to do Savannah up right), this is right beside a square, which leads to another square, which leads to another which will put you right in the midst of the beautiful Savannah park squares. Easily walkable to the river and Bay Street, as well as Bull Street and all of the eateries. GREAT location. And away from everything enough to still be quiet and peaceful. Food: Being a B&B, the Green Palm Inn serves a generous homemade breakfast. They will accommodate dietary requests. The breakfast we had was very good, albeit a bit sweeter than we like (banana french toast with caramel drizzled atop). There are homemade cookies and fruit and available all day, and wine and coffee. Very good food. General Comfort: Here the Inn in lacking a bit; being historic, it will lack some modern amenities, including your own thermostat, which for us was pretty essential. Despite visiting in March, the room became quite warm during they day, and we had to open the windows all night to be cool. There are no screens on the windows, so we ended up chasing wasps out of the room the next day... Parking: Parking is limited with 3 spaces in the back (4 rooms). So you shoouuld get a spot...But if not, there is street parking for $12.00 a day out in front. Overall, a really nice place and the proprietors are a very, very nice couple. read more

Worst place to stay! Stayed in this BB for the 1st time in Savannah, GA for our Anniversary and boy was it the worst experience my fiancé and I had! * The house person(s) weren't available to check us in and or show us around the house that we were staying @for a few days !! * The fan and the a/c made the worst noise making it very hard to sleep both nights we were there. * The breakfast isn't nothing like they have on their website. It's very very limited and not what one expects when you're paying !! * The bed in the room isn't your standard KING size bed! It's more like a queen size very hard mattress!! * Don't I don't setup your Trolley TOUR accommodations through them! We did and we weren't given accurate info- like Free shuttle will pick you up@ the place you're staying @and will take you to the Trolly pick up locations!!!!! Saving you not only waking time, but time in general !!!! We waisted 3hrs of our day on Saturday with poor information from the House lady who gladly took our credit card to schedule our trolley! And when we asked for a refund due to not being picked up by the trolley, the house lady stated "sorry cannot help you with that, you must visit the City Market kiosk for that! * On Sunday morning @7:30 am we are awakened to (2) not one barking dogs! The stay was so horrible that my fiancé and I checked out real early Sunday!! Happy Ending !! As with everything there's always something good and not so good in every experience as it was during our stay at the Green Palm Inn B&B. We found our room very nicely appointed and decorated. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the cook was very sweet and helpful. On the other hand was some aspects of our stay that was either unsafe or inconvenient. The fact that there are 4 guest rooms and only 2 parking spaces is frustrating. The on street parking is there until it's not. During our stay a film crew was able to close parking spots for blocks in all directions. The Savannah parking app was not allowing parking in areas far from the Inn. We parked on a street about a half mile from the inn after speaking to the after hours staff who was trying to persuade us to find a parking garage. One suggestion was a dark fenced empty lot and another was a hotel parking garage for valet only. We were offered a reimbursement of parking fee. But no reimbursement for the inconvenience and additional safety concerns of walking through unfamiliar areas in the dark. I believe if a business is going to have guests it should have a contingency plan for parking in a situation like this. Like other reviews we found the room without temperature controls. Also the bathtub has high sided to make entry/exit a bit tricky and in our case there was no hand holds making a bad safety concern even worse. Overall I cannot recommend this B&B. read more

Having spent three nights over Christmas in Charleston, our group of four headed south to Savannah where we had plans to spend just a couple of nights at Green Palm Inn to check out the town. Diane emailed us the morning of check-in to inquire when we'd be arriving so she could have wine and hors d' oeuvres waiting for us. What a treat and a fantastic first impression! Hubby and I stayed in the Palmetto Palm while our friends stayed right across the hall from us in the Sago Palm. The inn is small with only four suites - all four being upstairs. Our suites really seemed identical in size with the only difference being the décor. Each was well-appointed with comfortable beds, a mini fridge, a cozy and clean bathroom, and enough drawer space for the two of us. We've been traveling and staying in B&Bs for many years and prefer B&Bs to the big box chain hotels specifically for the ambiance and taste of the local area we're visiting. No two B&Bs will ever be the same which is what makes Green Palm Inn stand out even more! Diane was fantastic in not only welcoming us to the inn, but she also made a point to make sure her vegetarian option for breakfast for my husband and I would be sufficient. That was so appreciated, and I cannot tell you the last time anyone went out of their way to even ask me what I'd like to eat to satisfy my diet. The wine, desserts, and spread of hors d'oeuvres each afternoon was such a nice treat after having spent all day sightseeing and Diane's hospitable nature added to our wonderful experience. Her knowledge of the area was a huge plus as well since we weren't spending a lot of time in Savannah, and she could pinpoint some of the must-sees for us based on our likes. There is so much to see and do in beautiful Savannah, and when we return, we fully plan on visiting Diane again and staying at The Green Palm Inn! read more

If there were 10 stars, I would give the Green Palm Inn 10 stars! The breakfast was out of this world excellent. Everything was so carefully thought out and accommodating to my mom's special dietary needs (gluten free). I left breakfast thinking there was no way I would be having lunch because the portions were so large (which was great because everything was so delicious). The inn also offers "happy hour" with what they call light appetizers and wine. There was nothing "light" about the appetizers, you will not leave hungry from the inn unless you want to, trust me! The room was decorated gorgeously and had so much space. We had a mini fridge in our room which was stocked daily with bottles of water (free!). I can't say enough great things about my experience at the Green Palm Inn. Everyone was so friendly, the food was beyond amazing, and the room was fantastic. P.S. We asked for recipes because the breakfast was so great. Diane was more than happy to give us all the recipes we requested. Our travels over the holiday week brought us to Savannah and to the Green Palm Inn after spending a few days up in Charleston, SC. Prior to our arrival, our innkeeper Diane reached out to us to estimate our arrival time. She wanted to make sure she was prepared and had goodies waiting for us. We arrived around 4:30pm and were greeted warmly by Diane. She was eager to get us familiar with Savannah since we would only be there for 2 days. She sat us down and gave us a good rundown of the town, it's squares, it's hot spots, good eats and a bit of history along the way as well. Having never been to Savannah, it was great to get the details. You would think Diane was a native, but she does Savannah proud with her wealth of information and love for the city. We also learned that our location at the Green Palm Inn was a convenient place to all the things we wanted to see (which was pretty much everything). Once we were given the lowdown on Savannah, we were then checked-in and given the tour of the house. What a cozy and well decorated B&B. You really felt at home here from the minute you walk through the front door. The holiday decorations made us feel like we picked the perfect place to conclude our holiday trip. Prior to bring us to our room, Diane made sure we were introduced to the evening happy hour treats, wine and hors d'oeuvres which were served each evening. When I say treats, the spread was unlike any other B&B I had ever stayed in. There was such care and thoughtfulness put into this these goodies. Off to our room which was the Sago Palm Suite, we discovered it was a tastefully appointed and really cozy comfortable space. There was clearly some care put into decorating this house and they didn't cut corners which is so nice to see. The thoughtfulness touches in the room really make this special. This is a place where you feel like you are getting spoiled. The next morning, after our night on the town, we woke up to fresh brewed coffee, fresh orange juice and a hot breakfast made personally by Diane. The amount of work and care that went into these breakfasts the two mornings we had them, were out of this world. I am not a huge breakfast person, but I couldn't resist. What a great start to the day and send off for our journey home. 2 nights at the Green Palm Inn we were most definitely spoiled! I couldn't help when leaving yesterday to give her a big hug. As soon as the door opened to the inn we were met with the delightful aroma of cookies baking in the oven. Elizabeth had been making all sorts of home made goodies all afternoon for the afternoon wine and hors d'oeuvres. She was so sweet, showed us around the house, then sat down with a map of Savannah and marked various locations for us. The inn is in a great location. We recommend leaving your car parked and walking. Nothing is too far away. Diane the innkeeper is from the north, but she has all the grace and charm of a southern belle. Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit, orange juice, an amazing peach, cinnamon, pudding bread and turkey sausage with apple in it. The rooms are beautiful and we slept well. We couldn't believe how quiet it was at night. We happened to be there for the first Friday of the month with impressive fireworks around 9:00 and the first Saturday of the month, an arts and craft fair down by the river. Look for the Savannah Rose makers just beyond the booths at either end. They are not among the vendors who pay so you have to go beyond them to find them making roses from palmetto fronds. Savannah is so wonderful and the Green Palm Inn completes the wonder. read more

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Green Palm Inn. This was our first visit to Savannah and I have to say the Innkeeper Diane made it a great experience. Diane is the owner and it shows. Nothing beats a B&B where the owner is actually living at the B&B. Her assistant Tammy was great too. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are wonderful, and the food was fabulous. The breakfast was different everyday and afternoon snacks were different each day. You can walk from the Green Palm Inn to anywhere in the Savannah Historic District and we always felt safe, even walking around by ourselves at midnight. My wife and I intend to return for a visit to Savannah, the most beautiful city I have visited in the USA, and we will definitily stay at the Green Palm Inn again. read more

This is our third time to Savannah but first time to stay at this inn and it was absolutely wonderful! It's a cozy bed & breakfast (with only 4 rooms upstairs, so book ahead, but remember that you do have to climb a flight of stairs!) Located in the more quiet side of the historic area, but very accessible to all the beautiful areas of historic Savannah. Rob & Angela were such outstanding and welcoming hosts, sharing their tips/insights of their adopted town, so helpful whether it's your first time or on a return trip. Ask for restaurant recommendations and you will not be disappointed. Check-in process was easy, as well as checking out (thanks for the ice to fill our water bottle for the drive back home!). LOVED the daily home-cooked yummy breakfast meals served...all "low cal" in true Savannah fashion ;), enough to power you for the entire day of walking to explore the sights -- I don't think we even felt like having lunch until closer to 3pm. The rooms were comfortable, well-appointed with a little mini-fridge (stocked with water bottles) in case you have any leftovers or goodies that need a cold spot to be stored. There is a coffee maker in the room and goodies (fresh-baked cookies, chocolates), fresh fruit, tea-service, coffee and water available at all times in the dining room on the first floor in case you feel peckish at any time. Clean towels and some bathroom amenities are set up; we met their cleaning staff who was so friendly as well. The front room is a comfy place to read and sip afternoon wine (or coffee/tea) if you happen to be back from exploring Savannah. They have maps, booklets, magazines if you need information on sights and tours. There are a few off-street parking spots in the back of the property that guests can use (with overflow street parking if needed)-- a nice perk when you're driving in since you probably won't need your car the rest of the time. Overall a great stay...and meeting Harry the miniature schnauzer was a treat! Would definitely recommend this place for couples! read more

Having had minimal B&B experience, the Green Palm Inn was exactly what I expected that experience to be; like a home away from home. Miss Diane and staff were all extremely accomodating in a variety of ways from the expected to above and beyond anything I could have asked. The rooms at the inn are nice and very comfortable for the rate, which compared to the other B&B's I have stayed in at various locations, was about half what I expected to pay. With a full, hot breakfast, coffee, and juices served every morning, never ending cookies and sweets out at all times, and an evening wine and snack hour, the value of the Green Palm was without equal. The location is on the border of the historic distric and my wife and I walked to most locations easily, making going home and changing into dinner wear after the heat of the day an easy and welcome opportunity, especially with a glass of complimentary wine ;). The inn is also only a short drive from other sites in the area like Bonaventure cemetery and the beach resort of Tybee Island. MIss Diane and staff also went above and beyond in several regards helping me find a tailor for a last minute alteration and even calling a restaurant for us to help us with a lost drivers license while we were on the road to our next destination. All in all, I don't think I could have had a better lodging experience there. Highly recommended for a trip to the Savannah area! read more

Loved this place, its location and the host. Everything was clean and beautiful. The breakfast was excelllent. It's a very short walk to the river walk and there is plenty to do close by. The room was cozy and comfortable and the sheets were divine. I was pleasantly surprised how nice and cool it was in the room since it was so hot outside. The water pressure was excellent. As a nice touch there was a mini fridge stocked with water bottles and a keurig in the room. If I had to make one recommendation it would be to have brighter lighting in the room. read more

We will be back, this adorable b n b was just right as it was super clean, nicely decorated and fitting for Savannah's Historic District. For our first visit to Savannah it was to our surprise the city blocks are not as big as a normal city block we are use to, so the inn is quite close to all the historic district offers. One of the best parts of our stay at the inn was the wonderful couple Rob and Angela who now own and run the inn. They both were welcoming which made us feel very comfortable. Also their cute English accents were fun to hear. Oh my I must not forget to mention the amazing banana French toast they made for breakfast. This recipe is from a local staff personal at the inn. Along with that came fresh fruit with a dollop of real whip cream, a mint sprig and bacon and sausage. The orange juice was really good quality like fresh squeezed. They also had their buffet topped with delicious homemade treats for the guest to nibble on at any time during our stay. I am a very picky eater and can be quite critical but I only have really good things to say about the Green Palm Inn and the Innkeepers. You will not be disappointed staying here. read more

Have experienced multiply B and Bs and this one is up there with the best. Diane is a great hostess as well as chef. Room was delightful. Within walking distance to most places of interest in historic area. My only complaint and this is a small one is that the coffee in the room was Folgers. My boyfriend and I took a random road trip to Savannah completely unprepared. On our way down while we were stuck in traffic we called Diane at the Green Palm Inn and were able to book over the phone for the two nights we needed. She emailed us promptly with instructions on arrival and wanted to know if we had food allergies or drank coffee. The place is super easy to find and in a nice quiet part of the historic district located directly in front of the smallest house in town. We arrived pretty late at night so we snuck out to walk the river which was extremely close. When we got into bed we noticed that the sheets were very comfy and the bed was the perfect firmness. The next morning we woke up at 9:00am and were downstairs by 9:30. One other couple was at the table and we were both served at the same time. The breakfast was great! Diane made us a blueberry banana oat bake with scrambled eggs and baked maple bacon. Orange juice is ready on the table and coffee is prepared daily. After breakfast she sat us down with a map and showed us where everything we could possibly ask for would be. She's very knowledgeable of the city! After walking most of the day we came back for wine and cookies. Being the first to arrive we had nice conversation with Diane until two other couples came round and then we all sat in the main room with wine and conversation. After our ghost tour that night we were exhausted but also sticky! The shower was so relaxing with jets from the walls. When I got into bed my boyfriend went downstairs and grabbed some cookies and treats and then turned the tv on and we watch a bit of local news and late night tv until we fell asleep. The next morning we sat with a new couple at the same time, 9:30am and had an apple sausage quiche, sausage patties and biscuits. We then went upstairs to pack and when we came downstairs to load the vehicle she met us outside and walked in with us. We paid with credit card which was nice and easy but I would have preferred to pay with cash knowing how expensive it is for small business owners to run cards. She then hugged us and welcomed us back any time! My first bed and breakfast experience and I will definitely be comparing the rest to this one! My husband and I stayed in the Royal Palm Suite for 4 nights and loved it. Spacious room, well appointed, very clean and comfortable with cable tv and cold bottled water in the mini fridge, as well as a small coffee maker. Diane (inn keeper) and her staff were very friendly and great at recommending local places to eat and fun things to do. The Green Palm Inn is right next to Greene Square, and is easily in walking distance to all that downtown Savannah has to offer - but if you don't feel like walking, Diane will be happy to call the tour company/pedicab/taxi of your choice to come and pick you up and take you wherever you want to go (Tybee Island, Bonaventure Cemetery, etc). Did I mention that the breakfast is excellent and will keep you going until the 4-6 wine and cheese is set out at the Inn? I swear I gained 5 lbs! Plus, there are always fresh baked cookies and fruit available. Really a lovely place to stay while visiting Savannah. read more

I have recommended and will continue to recommend the Green Palm Inn to anyone that is looking for a relaxing bed and breakfast. Diane's hospitality def won us over from the very beginning. We were greeted by Diane as soon as we pulled up. She welcomed us and moved her vehicle out of a prime parking spot that she had saved for us on the street. After we brought all of our things in, she poured us a glass of wine and sat down with us to see what we were interested in doing. She pointed out some great restaurants and bars that we definitely wouldn't have known to go to. We used her map for the next 3 days we were in Savannah and were never disappointed by any of the suggestions. Our room was very clean and spacious. As far as location, the house is in a great location without being right in the middle of everything. We walked everywhere and never felt unsafe.
