I stayed here because it's an old civil war hospital and reportedly super haunted. I had no inklings of hauntings, but it was a fun one time stay! I stayed in the Mary Marshall Suite, which was spacious. The bed was comfortable. I loved soaking in the old claw foot tub and the shower had nice pressure. It was clean and well appointed. I loved the accessible balcony (it's shared, but super long and plenty of space, and I had my own little corner). It was WONDERFUL to drink my champagne (I chose the champagne welcome for 37.50, which was a good deal). However, it's important to realize you can only access the balcony through a ladder out the window, and it can be really hard on the knees. Older people or disabled people wouldn't be able to enjoy it probably. I'm able bodied and it was still hard on my knees. The room cost was in the 200s, but by the time the amenity fee and all the taxes were added on, it was over 400. I was pretty shocked. But you do get a social hour and live entertainment. All the free bottled water you need. The staff were reserved, but professional. I wish they had a later checkout than noon (noon is their late checkout and it's first come, first serve, otherwise it's 11 AM). But overall, very fun and unique stay, even if I didn't have any hostly encounters.

Our recent stay at The Marshall House Hotel on Broughton Street was truly unforgettable. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed and completely taken care of. The staff were so kind and attentive--always ready with a smile or a great recommendation for local restaurants and things to see around Savannah. The building itself is full of history and charm, with beautiful original details that make you feel like you're part of the city's story. It was also impeccably decorated for Halloween. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with elegant touches that made it feel special. We especially loved sitting out on the balcony overlooking Broughton Street--it was the perfect spot to enjoy the morning air before starting the day. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise--it's included in your stay and absolutely delicious. There was a great Southern selection of goodies and the service was attentive & prompt. Each evening they offer wine, cheese/crackers with a story teller in the beautiful drawing room/ lobby area . A huge surprise.. Ghost stories & wine.. What a treat The location couldn't be better--you can walk to all the shops, squares, and restaurants right from the front door. In the evenings, we loved coming back to unwind and enjoy the quiet charm of the hotel. The Marshall House truly captures what makes Savannah special: history, hospitality, and heart. We can't wait to return

I love a spooky situation and booked the Marshall because it was supposed to be one of the most haunted in Savannah. Slanted floors, old portraits, and noises I couldn't quite place, it (sort of) delivered lol. The bed was softer than the Drayton's, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are small, historic, full of charm, and the wood floors reminded me of growing up in New Orleans. The location cannot be beat. It is right across from Common Restaurant and just steps from everything else you could want. We adored our stay here.

Gorgeous historic hotel. It is definitely haunted, however. At the risk of sounding crazy, I tend to be very sensitive to energies, and have felt before like places have spirits present. Marshall House is next level though- when I first stepped foot inside, I actually thought, oh no what have I done (staying here). The energy was so intense I was a little freaked out, and even my skeptical husband could feel it. One night, the faucet turned on in our bathroom by itself in the middle of the night and my husband had to get up to turn it off. We didn't visually see anything, but at the risk of sounding real real crazy, one of the days we were sitting in the lobby sitting room enjoying happy hour when my husband tells me my face is bleeding. Out of no where I had a spontaneous scratch on the side of my face that was starting to bleed. Take that for what you will- it certainly was bizarre, especially because I didn't particularly feel like the energy was negative. All that being said, the hotels so beautiful and full of history, I might return if i am ever in the South again.

You cannot beat the location of The Marshall House. Staying on Broughton street allows you to easily walk to many shops, restaurants and points of interest in historic Savannah. Tell your sweet tooth to beware as you'll be right across the street from Byrd's famous cookies and a block down from Leopold's Ice Cream. Conveniently enough, you're also a very short stroll from where many walking tours/ghost tours start. Speaking of, The Marshall House is known to be haunted. We booked not knowing. While we had some issues with our room door not opening, we did not experience any hauntings otherwise. Once we spoke with the front desk, they explained the room doors are easier to open if you turn the handle up not down, that solved it! If you're looking for something that feels historic but well-maintained, The Marshall House is a wonderful option. The rooms are small, but they are clean and well-appointed. My favorite perk was the cold, bottled water in the lobby. It was so nice to have after lengthy hot walks in Savannah. A pretty good breakfast is also included in the lovely atrium off the lobby. Valet parking is not included but you can get a discount if you book direct through the hotel's website (avoid using a third party).

I was visiting Savannah for the New Year's Eve and New Year. This is one of the beautiful historic buildings in Savannah. We didn't stay here but I wanted to check out the building. The staff is super nice and they told me that the ground floor of the hotel is open for visitors to take a look. From whatever I have seen, it's gorgeous and well maintained. Hoping to come here and stay in the future.

Amazing hotel, excellent location in Savannah. This place was walking distance to almost every place we wanted to go, including the riverwalk and many restaurants and shops. The room had a window that opened to the balcony - wonderful views and people watching! Breakfast was included and made to order. The room itself was nice - really seemed like you were in a large house, and the bathroom had a claw foot bathtub which was pretty fun. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Savannah for a brief stay!

Incredible hotel. Breakfast was incredible. They have a nice wine & cheese hour with entertainment every evening. The hotel is beautiful and we loved stayed here. The staff were so kind and friendly! My husband and I stayed in room 414 (the most haunted room) and we made a connection with the spirit in the room. Nothing malicious! The room was so comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Known as the Savannah Hotel with history, The Marshall House, has plenty of history dating back to when it originated in 1851. It was even used as a hospital for wounded Civil War soldiers and is said to have ghosts. I didn't see any but the hotel says they have the friendliest ghost in all of Savannah. I love staying in old historic hotels and The Marshall House is one of America's best. They preserved all the wood floors, and though they may creek a little, it just adds to the charm. Our room was on the small side but perfect since Beloved and I tend to snoozle up together; hence, have little need for a lot of room. The room itself was nicely appointed little desk, a good size TV, charming older time chairs, an armoire, and a most classic sink in the bathroom. Best of all, The Marshall House is located in the very heart of Savannah near most everything including, to my delight, Olde Pink House along with its wonderful restaurant and bar. The staff of The Marshall House really gave me five-star attention, were professional and polite.

I really like this place. It's old and charming and that's really all I need. The rooms are great, clean and homey. It's got a good location near all the nearby historic downtown things. It's got a free breakfast. The breakfast isn't a mindblower but you got a lot of options and it's nice to have a pretty good free breakfast that's in the same building you're staying in so you can get right to whatever your plans for the day are. It's not bad either. It's like diner quality. My only complaint was that the shower takes maybe 15-20 minutes to get hot and doesn't completely blast you with a waterfall of moisture. It was around 50 degrees during my stay so I was pretty cold taking a shower. Otherwise I pretty much loved it. I would stay here again.

Place is amazing and most definitely has paranormal activity! Bring cat balls, flashlight, and spirit talker app on your phone to do some ghost hunting in your room. I most certainly had activity!

Random hallway. Take the tour around the 3rd floor on your phone

From being greeted at our car upon arriving to the poor bell hop trying to Tetris our suitcases on the way out, we had a fabulous time. Perfect location, amazing staff (kudos to Patty), nightly mixer & breakfast on site. Don't hesitate to book. Clean and room was more spacious than it looked online.

Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. Most concerning was that one elevator was out of service for the entire hotel during both visits, creating long waits and inconvenience throughout the stay with the one remaining elevator. This single elevator was used by the staff as well. The hotel itself felt poorly maintained. The carpet in the hallways and rooms appeared dirty, and there was a persistent musty smell that made the property feel old and neglected. The room also did not include coffee, which is a basic amenity most travelers expect from a hotel in this price range. They did offer 2 automatic coffee machines in the lobby area which was nice but inconvenient. The breakfast was another issue. It was a buffet arrangement. The selection was very limited, and nearly everything offered consisted of highly processed food items with little variety or freshness. The second visit had fewer items than the first. Breakfast is included in the room rate so obviously the hotel is looking to find the cheapest way out. It was very disappointing. What made the experience even more frustrating was the valet parking situation. The hotel charges $48 per night for valet parking, yet there is a city parking lot immediately next door charging only about $10-14 per night. The markup felt excessive and unnecessary. The only positive part of our stay was the staff. The employees were consistently friendly, professional, and helpful, and they clearly did their best to work around the flaws in the hotel's systems and maintenance issues. Unfortunately, good service alone could not make up for the overall condition and value of the property. We will not be staying here again. We advise others to do the same. There are several other hotels in this area with the same prime location.

This hotel has long term leases on almost all of level P3 of the Whittaker Street Parking Garage…read more Other private businesses with long term leases on spots mark the spots to inform people not to lark. Andaz Savannah Hyatt does not post signs nor mark the spots nor have any gate or signs to know what part of the garage they leased. Instead have sensors in the unmarked spots and tow without bothering to post any sign. Completely predatory. Sensors cost more than signs. They should put up signs. This is a very unethical dirty hotel that is doing harm to the city and the community. I went to a conference in Savannah, and carpooled with a coworker. We had gone to park at the Whittaker Street Parking Garage. On level P3, we went through an open gate to get in, and then needed a swipe card to get out. Half that floor is marked with "reserved for" signs, hanging from the ceiling and on the wall and concrete support columns by each parking spot. Those were something like reserved for a condo or something, not Andaz. Half is not marked at all. This is like a line down the middle half. The south part of the garage was marked; the north part was not. Line down the middle like 2 sections. Because the half that was marked said towing, my coworker had stayed in the car, and I went to go find the parking attendant to confirm we were parked in a public paid spot. On the street level, the security for Savannah said that where we were parked was OK, and that all reserved spots have to be marked. She told me where to find the parking attendant. The parking attendant said that all reserved spots are marked, and that unmarked spots are for the public paid parking. I went back to the car to tell my coworker that we were good to go. Well, it had taken me easily 20 minutes due to there is one single attendant. Lucky us, because when I got back, an Andaz Savannah Hyatt employee was there with my coworker saying he would towed. Apparently, rather than put up signs in their reserved spots, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt puts sensors pointed at each spot to detect a car, and then orders a tow. A sensor has to cost more than a sign. That's so dirty and immoral to not post a sign, and then to tow people. The two employees of the city and of the parking garage said that that was a public paid spot based on there not being any posted signs that it was reserved. Andaz Savannah Hyatt just cannot be bothered to communicate. They will tow, bill for the tow, mess up transmission on a four wheel drive, and stick that whole mess of theirs onto regular people. Because they can't be bother to even post a sign. Also to leave, we had to drive out an "in" gate, which apparently they leave the "in" gate permanently up for cars to drive through, then have a billing "out" gate that you have to swipe the card and be billed to leave. Like a trap. No signs when you come in, and no signs on their entire half of the P3 level. I am certain what they are doing is illegal, to tow without having any posted signs at all on their half of the garage. When I searched, Georgia law requires 12x18 inch no parking signs or a sign at the gate. Andaz Savannah Hyatt had a permanently open gate for entrance, closed gate for exit, and absolutely no signs on what the employee of Andaz said was the Andaz parking. And said he would have towed if my coworker weren't there in the car. Well, it's travelers and tourists, so Andaz Savannah Hyatt can get away with it, because they rob from people who don't live in the city. They break the law, and harm the community. This hotel is doing dirty. What else are they doing. Nope, nope, nope. Badly run and cannot be trusted. Even if you are not a customer, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt will harm you just for being nearby.

I don't know, if I was staff at a hotel, I would probably tell them to keep it down after 8 PM, but that's just me. It sounds like the rooms on the other side of the hotel are really noisy as well, so I guess moving and wouldn't have done much. The valet took a really long time in the morning. I wouldn't have minded that if they would have told us in the beginning, but when you check in, they tell you to give them five minutes to retrieve your vehicle. It took the guy 20 minutes to respond to my request (I was first in the queue) and I had to go walk down and grab the car myself because I needed to leave immediately. It sounds like he was managing two properties, so not his fault. When not knowing where the valet was, the front desk wasn't helpful. She kind of dismissed the issue. It actually prompted us to take action and another gentleman waiting for his car went and looked in the valet garage to see if somebody was even there because he was having the same issues. And honestly, if I'd paid $275-$400+ out of pocket for this room, I'd be much more upset. Not trying to be petty -- but let's be real: at a true 5-star hotel, I expect a seamless experience where my basic needs are handled without me having to ask. Hotel Bardo, unfortunately, missed that mark.
