Had I known this was here it would have saved a lot of stress on my freshly sprained ankle!

Pretty, boutique hotel located in a lovely area near the waterfront in Savannah. The bed was very comfortable and linens felt good. There are no "helps" or conveniences available at this hotel. One must manage their own luggage, if arriving after daytime hours. There is a ramp hidden behind the bushes for the luggage cart, but unless you know it's there, navigating steps is necessary for the transfer of one's belongings There is no food accessible, and "app" deliveries are stopped at the front desk. There is a cafe/diner, Quinn's, right next door, which has the BEST BLT's on the planet, but it closes at 1400, so get there early! Lot's of other good restaurants in the area, but things close early. No microwave nor refrigerator in the rooms, nor accessible elsewhere in the place, eat your leftovers! If you call the front desk, do not expect anyone to answer more than about 1/3 of the time. Be sure to ask for room service before 0900, or it'll be the next day before it will be done. If you need anything at all, ice, coffee, extra blankets, plan to find it for yourself. Valet, Rodderick, is impeccable! When he is there and available, he serves! Wonderful man!! I would stay here again, but only because I would be prepared and plan ahead for the lack. Sometimes, a good bed is all one needs.

It' looks just like it was advertised...cute, quaint, elegant and very quiet. The location is absolutely amazing. They offer valet parking. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There are also plenty of places to shop within walking distance and River Street is about 5 minutes away. Public parking is right across the street (I paid $30 for 13 hours). FYI...if you're staying on a Sunday night there aren't many restaurants open after 11 PM. I do however have a small complaint, there was no refrigerator in my room but I did notice one in another room. Other than that I would definitely stay here again.

This location has prime real estate being in the heart of the North historic District of Savannah. It is within walking distance to the Riverwalk, as well as Bay Street and Broughton Avenue so it provides a great central location to explore the city. While location can be everything, upkeep and maintenance is also a big factor when staying in hotels. We knew we were taking a chance with this location based upon pictures and reviews, but opted to experience it anyways. Our biggest complaint about this location is the lack of upkeep and appropriate repair work. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years collectively, we understand what it takes to maintain a location. Especially one that is hundreds of years old. But it was a true disappointment to stay in a room where you could see all of the patchwork that had been done in the ceiling or in the bathroom, as well as seeing things such as cracking in the window frames, paint chipping away, stains on your soft linens and soft lines. While the room was clean, the lack of care in the upkeep and repairs really distracted from what this location should be. Location has a deep history, having opened originally in the early 1800s and when you stay in one of these rooms it does truly feel like you're back in the 1800s. The beds were comfortable but they are small. They do provide valet parking for $30 a day and there is a parking garage that is located directly across from them. We opted to do valet parking for the simple fact of it was convenient knowing somebody was at least semi-keeping an eye on our vehicles. if you do want to do room service, they do you have a connection with the old pink house, which is located right next-door to them. And you're able to order food from them directly.

My husband and I enjoyed a night in Savannah in January. We stayed at the Planters Inn which is just a couple of blocks from River Street. I didn't check in on Yelp until later that night which was a mistake since there was a complimentary parking voucher for checking in! Anyway, we parked on the street and fed the meter for $2/hour until 8p and then started paying again at 8a. The room was spacious and clean. I'd definitely go back!

Spent a few nights here. Friendly staff and cute decor. Good eats all around the neighborhood. Really good location to start your exploration of the district. Highly recommended.

It is the small touches that make this place. First off, pull up to the curb to unload and a doorman opens your door. I was NOT prepared for this. On long road trips I always have a 'collection' surrounding me in the car: phone charger, water bottle, itinerary, etc., etc. So when my door opened I scrambled to get myself organized! The gentleman who opened the door graciously kept saying 'take your time', 'no hurry'; but be prepared folks. Or just be more organized than me. Either way. The doormen are there for two shifts and are extremely helpful. They'll take your bags into the lobby for you (no bellboy to take them up to the rooms however. Just FYI), help you load up when you leave, open the car and hotel doors and when asked give directions. They are cheerful and lovely people if you spend a bit of time chatting. Just remember they can be very busy so choose your chatting times appropriately. The lobby has very nice woodwork detail at ceiling level which is quite high. There are a bounty of wing back chairs here which were occupied in the middle of the day by guests reading the newspapers and chatting. The hotel offers a wine and cheese event here in the evenings which was crowded the first night we were there. Standing room only. Reception is across the room from the main door and seems to be staffed round the clock. Due to the number of seats and tables in the lobby, when someone has a luggage cart waiting to be put on the elevator, it can cause traffic problems in this area. The elevators are to the right of reception in a small 'hallway'. There are two elevators here but only one is working at the time of our visit. The rooms have poster beds and are nicely appointed. Turn down service is offered nightly and ice is included in this service so after a day on the town you can pour yourself an iced nightcap if you have the beverages. The door to the safe, located in the closet, was too large for the space and kept 'hitting' the closet door when ever it was opened. They do have amenities in there as well; iron, board, extra pillow. The room are showing a bit of wear. As a guest who likes my rooms to be well maintained, I always alert the front desk when there is an issue with the room. There was some peeling wallpaper that needed addressing and a slow running drain which they fixed same day. They seem to have a handyman on staff so just let them know what needs to be done. Although it is too bad no one seems to be walking the premises making a routine check of maintenance needs, I have no idea how busy said maintenance man is on a regular basis. When you stay at a nice hotel, your expectations are heightened. For example, when the room comes with coffee cups and glassware, you expect dirty glassware to be removed and replaced when the beds are made. It really is the small things that make a difference and this is rather bigger than a small thing when you are staying several days. Sometimes leaving a tip for housekeeping makes a difference. The staff we met were all very nice. The room is charming. The amenities well thought. Be aware, as the building is long and thin, many rooms overlook the parking garage next door. There are only a few overlooking the park across the street, which is a lovely park. Would I stay here again? Yes, I think I would. It really did offer the 'Southern hospitality' we were looking for on our Savannah trip.

This is a cheap motel trying to be a boutique hotel. It's loud, dirty, and has none of the amenities it claims it does. What they claim to offer: Lobby refreshments = a tub of ice water Free continental breakfast = nope Room service from the Olde Pink House = nope Nightly wine and cheese reception = nope Nightly turn down service = they don't provide basic housekeeping. I had to get my own sheets from the lobby. -What they do offer: -Dirty bedding -Mold in the bathroom -Ceiling caving in - A bathroom light that never turns off that lights your entire room 24/7 - Beautiful views of the parking garage -And a very defensive general manager named Marc Friday Attached are some pictures as well as Marc's response. It's clear he isn't very active in the business he runs nor does he care about customer service.

Huge thank you to Joey, Jackie, Cindi, and Darnell or as I refer to them as the dream team for making our stay so incredible. I hope they promote you all into management. Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Honestly, one of the best beds I have ever slept on. Perfect if you have jet lag. I love that the toiletries have peppermint so you repeal bugs, which is a must in the south. Great alternative if you forget the bug spray. There's a coffee bar, restaurant, and a speakeasy bar that was Alice and wonderland themed. In the afternoon you are offered champagne, which is such a nice touch. This hotel has long term leases on almost all of level P3 of the Whittaker Street Parking Garage…read more Other private businesses with long term leases on spots mark the spots to inform people not to lark. Andaz Savannah Hyatt does not post signs nor mark the spots nor have any gate or signs to know what part of the garage they leased. Instead have sensors in the unmarked spots and tow without bothering to post any sign. Completely predatory. Sensors cost more than signs. They should put up signs. This is a very unethical dirty hotel that is doing harm to the city and the community. I went to a conference in Savannah, and carpooled with a coworker. We had gone to park at the Whittaker Street Parking Garage. On level P3, we went through an open gate to get in, and then needed a swipe card to get out. Half that floor is marked with "reserved for" signs, hanging from the ceiling and on the wall and concrete support columns by each parking spot. Those were something like reserved for a condo or something, not Andaz. Half is not marked at all. This is like a line down the middle half. The south part of the garage was marked; the north part was not. Line down the middle like 2 sections. Because the half that was marked said towing, my coworker had stayed in the car, and I went to go find the parking attendant to confirm we were parked in a public paid spot. On the street level, the security for Savannah said that where we were parked was OK, and that all reserved spots have to be marked. She told me where to find the parking attendant. The parking attendant said that all reserved spots are marked, and that unmarked spots are for the public paid parking. I went back to the car to tell my coworker that we were good to go. Well, it had taken me easily 20 minutes due to there is one single attendant. Lucky us, because when I got back, an Andaz Savannah Hyatt employee was there with my coworker saying he would towed. Apparently, rather than put up signs in their reserved spots, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt puts sensors pointed at each spot to detect a car, and then orders a tow. A sensor has to cost more than a sign. That's so dirty and immoral to not post a sign, and then to tow people. The two employees of the city and of the parking garage said that that was a public paid spot based on there not being any posted signs that it was reserved. Andaz Savannah Hyatt just cannot be bothered to communicate. They will tow, bill for the tow, mess up transmission on a four wheel drive, and stick that whole mess of theirs onto regular people. Because they can't be bother to even post a sign. Also to leave, we had to drive out an "in" gate, which apparently they leave the "in" gate permanently up for cars to drive through, then have a billing "out" gate that you have to swipe the card and be billed to leave. Like a trap. No signs when you come in, and no signs on their entire half of the P3 level. I am certain what they are doing is illegal, to tow without having any posted signs at all on their half of the garage. When I searched, Georgia law requires 12x18 inch no parking signs or a sign at the gate. Andaz Savannah Hyatt had a permanently open gate for entrance, closed gate for exit, and absolutely no signs on what the employee of Andaz said was the Andaz parking. And said he would have towed if my coworker weren't there in the car. Well, it's travelers and tourists, so Andaz Savannah Hyatt can get away with it, because they rob from people who don't live in the city. They break the law, and harm the community. This hotel is doing dirty. What else are they doing. Nope, nope, nope. Badly run and cannot be trusted. Even if you are not a customer, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt will harm you just for being nearby.

As far as hauntings go, the only thing we experienced was a light knocking within the room, and it was just one time. Haunting or not, we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Savannah.

Hotel bardo was phenomenal and I would stay here every time I come back to Savannah!…read more Location: wonderful! It is just off of Forsyth park and incredibly walkable. I traveled with my grandfather and they have a complimentary car that took us to the museum of art on a hot day. Rooms: the rooms are gorgeously designed and spacious. Fully stocked mini bar and my view overlooked the pool. Service: The hotel service is wonderful. The restaurants get a lot of local traffic which means the service can get slow. The food is exceptional. The concierge is helpful.

But since then, it seems like no one's paid attention to the details that actually make a stay feel 5-star. We stayed just one night and noticed several things that made the experience feel less than premium: * Curtain was literally held together with paper clips * Bathroom sink barely drained * No "do not disturb" hanger for the door, had to request one * Vacuuming started in the hallway at 7:15am * Gym had beautiful treadmills with screens and free earbuds -- but the internet was down, so none of t worked To their credit, they did offer to send someone to fix the sink... but on a one-night stay, why would I want to spend part of it with someone working on the pipes in my bathroom? That's something that should be checked before a guest ever walks into the room. There were some nice touches: a complimentary car service, wooden room keys, a convenient texting system, and solid amenities (though we didn't use many of them). That said, I couldn't help but feel like we were placed in a neglected room -- possibly because the stay was part of an Amex Platinum perk. And honestly, if I'd paid $275-$400+ out of pocket for this room, I'd be much more upset. Not trying to be petty -- but let's be real: at a true 5-star hotel, I expect a seamless experience where my basic needs are handled without me having to ask. Hotel Bardo, unfortunately, missed that mark.
