5 Stars - A Southern Sanctuary with a Side of Sass If Wes Anderson designed a hotel and handed the keys to the coolest people in Savannah, you'd get Hotel Bardo. From the second we stepped through the doors, it felt like we'd walked into a vintage Italian daydream--one where everyone is better dressed and knows how to make a perfect Negroni. The vibe? Impeccably curated but never pretentious. The service? Like your favorite cousin who always remembers your drink order but also knows when to leave you alone to flirt with the idea of moving here permanently. Rooms are dreamy and transportive--equal parts Old World charm and modern comfort. Think: velvet, brass, and just the right amount of moody lighting. Even the bathroom makes you feel like you're starring in your own indie film montage. The restaurant, Saint Bibiana, deserves its own novella. Order anything. Seriously. Close your eyes and point--you can't go wrong. Bonus points for a staff that somehow manages to be both chill and telepathically attentive. By the time we left, we weren't sure if we'd just stayed at a hotel or joined a cult of aesthetically pleasing, rosé-sipping hedonists. Either way, we're in. Bravo, Bardo. Bravo.

Hotel Bardo is the absolute best hotel to stay at when visiting Savannah! The location is perfect and right across from the iconic Forsyth Park. You can easily walk downtown as well. The hotel has a few amazing bars on site and the pool is a perfect spot to lounge at for the day. The spa is an also a must for relaxation before or after a day out in Savannah. You won't regret staying at Bardo!

    Oh well no pool again

Very nice place I got very annoyed, when we came back from tromping around and found the pool closed for a private party. Then my wife complained and we got a free cabana which came with free aranciata and spring water. T'was awesome.

We had an amazing staycation at Hotel Bardo and the stay truly felt like we were on the Italian Coast! The pool at Hotel Bardo is stunning, the menus at Bar Bibi and Saint Bibiana is fabulous and the vibes throughout the entire are immaculate! The hotel is the perfect spot to spend a staycation, a babymoon, celebrate an anniversary or an upcoming bride!

I rarely give 5s but Hotel Bardo and its staff deserve it. My fiancé chose Bardo for two occasions--touring as a potential wedding venue and celebrating her birthday (10/21). We picked it based on TikTok/Instagram reviews and the stunning remodel, and it exceeded every expectation. I've been searching for a venue that blends historic charm with modern luxury--refined yet resort-style, elegant yet comfortable. Bardo achieves all that and more. The attention to detail from the moment you walk in shows the care behind the renovation. The pool, bars, restaurant courtyard, and event spaces are gorgeous--perfect for both large and intimate gatherings. Club Bardo is a must for a cocktail, and I recommend reservations for dining and services since it's popular with Savannah locals. We missed the spa and cooking classes this time but plan to experience them on our next visit. The location beside Forsyth Park is ideal--quiet, clean, and more luxurious than staying near the river, yet everything is within walking distance or a quick 5-minute cab ride. The complimentary historic district transport is a great touch. Every staff member we met was exceptional--front desk, valet, and pool teams all provided 5-star service. Special thanks to the yoga instructor on Tuesday (10/21) for starting our day perfectly, the manager at Saint Bibiana for upgrading us to a beautiful bay-window table once he learned it was my fiancé's birthday, and Franklin, the driver, who arrived within minutes in a sleek black Escalade. Hotel Bardo delivers a level of hospitality that rivals Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Savannah. Cheers to a job well done, Bardo!

We went in for quick drinks at their bar. Somethings to keep in mind, they only do room charge at the pool bar. If you do not have a room at Hotel Bardo, you can get drinks in the Green Room. The place is inspired by a French Parlour. We went during afternoon and the place was quite empty. The service really lacked as our order was taken after 20 mins of sitting down, once we ordered our first drink no one ever came to check up on us. We were going to order a second drink but we sat there for about an hour and didn't feel like waiting. We had to go pay the bill at the bar. The drinks were pretty decent! And the ambiance is nice as well!

Gazebo where we enjoyed fabulous coffee.

Highly recommended. Elevated. 5 star Boutique hotel experience. Loved the location. Loved the decor and service was fabulous. Spent 5 hours at the pool and enjoyed every minute. Can't wait to come back.

I can't say enough positive about bardo! every detail of the hotel has been well thought out. the hospitality is amazing. we can't wait to go back. a total gem.

The full-size beds were a little bit small and hard to sleep two people. They had a nice resort but they charge a $30 resort fee, even if you don't use any of the facilities. They do have a pool and a hot tub. They have plenty of parking for the guests but logistically it's on Hutchinson Island, which makes it further away from downtown Savannah. There is a free ferry that takes four minutes to go across to downtown but when there are a lot of people trying to get back-and-forth to the convention center, the wait can be over an hour. The staff was friendly and very helpful though. It was a perfect location for any event at the convention center. They had a nice bar and also a restaurant, but I did not try the food.

What I got instead was poor communication, disorganization, and a situation that put my children's safety at risk. Before arrival, I called ahead specifically to request adjoining rooms and a rollaway bed since I was traveling alone with my three kids. I was clearly told both would be accommodated. That turned out to be completely false. After checking in and getting to the rooms, they were not adjoining. When I called the front desk, I was told there were none available, despite being assured days earlier. Then, to make matters worse, they claimed I needed to request the rollaway bed through some specific website. That was never mentioned during my call. So not only did they fail to deliver, they shifted the blame onto me. Because of their incompetence, I was forced into an unacceptable and frankly dangerous situation: having two minors in a completely separate, non-adjoining hotel room by themselves. Not with a connecting door....separate. No direct access. No way to monitor them properly. No ability to respond immediately if something happened. Any parent knows that's not just inconvenient, it's a serious safety concern. This is exactly the kind of situation you go out of your way and spend good money to avoid. Instead, the hotel created it. On top of that the elevators were a mess, with lines stretching into the hallway...The pool didn't even have towels available for the majority of Saturday afternoon For a hotel that charges premium prices, this level of disorganization and disregard for guest safety is unacceptable. This wasn't just a bad stay...it was a stressful and avoidable failure on their part. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to families

The hotel is in a convenient spot with plenty to do nearby; we were able to walk to the riverfront and explore the Christmas market, which was a nice touch during our stay. It overlooked the terrace, which had a pleasant pool area and a fire pit, and the hotel provided fun extras like s'mores kits in the evening, which added a nice, cozy element to the stay. Room also included some complimentary snacks and Coke products, which was nice. One downside was parking--valet is expensive, and the suggested parking deck was full for most of our stay. We had to pay for a nearby deck for a few hours before finding free street parking in a nearby neighborhood. Overall, the combination of a great location, comfortable rooms, attentive staff, and thoughtful amenities made this a solid choice. I would return for another stay.

Andaz Savannah Hyatt does not post signs nor mark the spots nor have any gate or signs to know what part of the garage they leased. Instead have sensors in the unmarked spots and tow without bothering to post any sign. Completely predatory. Sensors cost more than signs. They should put up signs. This is a very unethical dirty hotel that is doing harm to the city and the community. I went to a conference in Savannah, and carpooled with a coworker. We had gone to park at the Whittaker Street Parking Garage. On level P3, we went through an open gate to get in, and then needed a swipe card to get out. Half that floor is marked with "reserved for" signs, hanging from the ceiling and on the wall and concrete support columns by each parking spot. Those were something like reserved for a condo or something, not Andaz. Half is not marked at all. This is like a line down the middle half. The south part of the garage was marked; the north part was not. Line down the middle like 2 sections. Because the half that was marked said towing, my coworker had stayed in the car, and I went to go find the parking attendant to confirm we were parked in a public paid spot. On the street level, the security for Savannah said that where we were parked was OK, and that all reserved spots have to be marked. She told me where to find the parking attendant. The parking attendant said that all reserved spots are marked, and that unmarked spots are for the public paid parking. I went back to the car to tell my coworker that we were good to go. Well, it had taken me easily 20 minutes due to there is one single attendant. Lucky us, because when I got back, an Andaz Savannah Hyatt employee was there with my coworker saying he would towed. Apparently, rather than put up signs in their reserved spots, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt puts sensors pointed at each spot to detect a car, and then orders a tow. A sensor has to cost more than a sign. That's so dirty and immoral to not post a sign, and then to tow people. The two employees of the city and of the parking garage said that that was a public paid spot based on there not being any posted signs that it was reserved. Andaz Savannah Hyatt just cannot be bothered to communicate. They will tow, bill for the tow, mess up transmission on a four wheel drive, and stick that whole mess of theirs onto regular people. Because they can't be bother to even post a sign. Also to leave, we had to drive out an "in" gate, which apparently they leave the "in" gate permanently up for cars to drive through, then have a billing "out" gate that you have to swipe the card and be billed to leave. Like a trap. No signs when you come in, and no signs on their entire half of the P3 level. I am certain what they are doing is illegal, to tow without having any posted signs at all on their half of the garage. When I searched, Georgia law requires 12x18 inch no parking signs or a sign at the gate. Andaz Savannah Hyatt had a permanently open gate for entrance, closed gate for exit, and absolutely no signs on what the employee of Andaz said was the Andaz parking. And said he would have towed if my coworker weren't there in the car. Well, it's travelers and tourists, so Andaz Savannah Hyatt can get away with it, because they rob from people who don't live in the city. They break the law, and harm the community. This hotel is doing dirty. What else are they doing. Nope, nope, nope. Badly run and cannot be trusted. Even if you are not a customer, the Andaz Savannah Hyatt will harm you just for being nearby.

The person at the front desk seemed understanding, but powerless to help. My reservation clearly showed that I reserved a room with two queen beds. One of the reservations made by my family was two separate two day reservations (four consecutive days but made as two separate reservations). We clarified that we had the same room for the whole four day stay when we checked in. At an impressively inconvenient time midday of the third day our key card stopped working. The front desk explained that corporate required us to recheck in to the room at that time and this process took longer than seems necessary in 2026 (when our stuff was already in the room and we had done the same thing two days prior). This is clearly a low functioning hotel management system that creates unnecessary and unpleasant steps for its staff and guests. The rooms are fine but a bit dated, generally showing some wear, there were multiple old USB outlets but zero modern USB outlets, service in the restaurant is incredibly slow and the food is very uneven. It's hard to mess up pizza as bad as one we got. One of our servers was completely untrained, although very polite and sincerely trying their best. Staff are friendly and our interactions with the front desk and folks cleaning rooms were very pleasant. The morning coffee and afternoon wine and snacks in the lobby was nice. There are nice seating options in the lobby and in the interior courtyard as well. The location is great with very short walks to the river or the beautiful old downtown area. There is a lovely small park adjacent to the hotel and we enjoyed sitting on benches in the shade of elegant old oaks. Old Savannah is a gem and a highlight of our trip. The gym is tiny and worthless. Generally speaking the Kimpton Brice is overpriced for what you get. The most disappointing aspect of my experience was that the location is great and the human beings working on the premises are also great, but the experience was degraded by the folks at IHG or whatever corporate scam is hurting this hotel.

The two queen bed on the app photo for the waterfront room shows a balcony, so this is what I thought we were getting. We upgraded to the concierge floor, more in that later. The room we have is very spacious. You aren't crowded at all. Ample room in the large bathroom also. There is a desk, a bench, single serve coffee maker, which we didn't use, one chamomile tea bag and one English tea bag, 4 creamers in a wooden box. The windows start at the floor and go up over 5 ft for a fabulous view of the Savannah River where we saw numerous barges with crates up to our windows, tug boats, ferry and old steam boats passing leisurely by onto serious waters. To watch the river activity there is a small round table and two comfortable chairs. The beds are ok for comfort with each bed sporting 4 pillows. We used the service desk to make arrangements for a trolley tour, the employee stated she was freezing, was a temp, couldn't get the credit card/ticket machine to work, this took over 25 minutes...she complained how old the piece of equipment was. We have a $6 black cup of coffee waiting to be picked up because there are no complimentary coffee offered. The ferry dock is located on this property. The condition of the room is quite surprising for a Marriott property. This definitely needs to be either updated or fixed. The view is worth the price, the condition of the room is not. We're going to try other river view hotels next time. When we came back from the tour, had dinner at 45 Bistro which we enjoyed, we went to the tiny concierge room where no employee could be found. We passed someone sitting in a chair by the door talking with someone loudly on a personal phone call, well she was the employee...she ignored us and kept talking to whoever...we searched the small area for a soda, all were warm. My sister wanted a glass of wine which is normally free in these areas. There wasn't any, we asked the employee who looked not happy to have to put her call down and answer us nastily as she opened a door where small bottles of wine were inside a large black garbage bag and said she had to charge it to our room, we declined and she went back to her phone call. The tiled ledges in the bathroom are filthy, I've been in gas station bathrooms in better and cleaner condition.

We booked a room with two queen beds that were in fact fulls. The beds are small and why they're being advertised as a queen is ridiculous. The room itself was nice but there are some major downfalls. First, the lighting is atrocious. It's too dark, especially if you're in the bathroom trying to get ready. The toilet paper was one ply, there was no fan in the bathroom (I can see a mold issue from a mile away), and the mini fridge? Don't bother bringing leftovers if you go out on the town back with you as it's only big enough to hold a couple of small water bottles. (It's literally a carry-around fridge. It's mini.) For the cost of the room you'd expect the products and amenities to be a bit nicer. Upon check in we were greeted by the vallet staff and a gentleman inside that offered us champagne. Everyone was very kind. They were bit busy during check-in but we weren't in any sort of rush so didn't mind waiting. Sheila was the woman who checked us in. One of our party was running late due to health issues. Said guest is a gold star elite member of the hotel and had called ahead of time to inform staff of this. She was informed we would have no issues checking in. We reiterated this to Sheila who said if that member of our party (who had booked) didn't show up she would charge us for a full night (we were getting a discount through our friend running behind.) Once our friend did make it and check in Shiela then told her "make sure there's no trouble." And I can only assume she was saying this because our group is heavily tattooed. We came in from walking the city in band and bookish tshirts and Doc Martins. We knew we were getting judgey looks from the moment of check-in but surely at a high end place like GB they would treat everyone equal. That comment was absolutely unnecessary and unprofessional. And to say that in face of someone who is an elite is wild. We had drinks in the rooftop later that evening and watched a beautiful sunset. Staff was wonderful there as well. I didn't get the chance to use the gym but I did pop in to check it out. It's small but has what you need for a quick circuit. The staff did hold our luggage while we walked sound after check out which we appreciated. They were very kind. Overall it was a decent experience that we could have gotten at La Quinta at the next block. This is an average hotel that is vastly overpriced for the bare minimum.

We were very impressed with the property at first glance, both outside and inside. The interior…read moredesign was superb and made a wonderful first impression. After spending a few hours at the Inn, however, I began to notice some cleanliness issues. While the main surfaces appeared to be kept up reasonably well, a closer look revealed dust and debris under furniture, on the hardwood floors, on the dining room rugs, and behind open doors. While sitting in a side chair in our room, the light from the window revealed a dusty and dirty wooden bed rail, as well as a dusty floor under the bedside chest. I also had to retrieve something that had fallen under the bed, and I was surprised to find what looked like about an inch of dust on the area rug underneath. It was very obvious where the vacuum had stopped and could not reach, which was quite unpleasant. The bathrooms were decent overall, but there was hair and debris around the vanity sink legs. The toilet also had a ring in it that did not come off when I tested to see whether it could simply be wiped clean. We did enjoy the daily evening wine and hors d'oeuvres, although on two of the four days we were there, they were put out late. The fresh cookies each day were delicious, and we appreciated being able to ask for a soda. The staff were very friendly, and we especially enjoyed our breakfast server, though it would have been nice if his hair had been kept out of his eyes during service. After our first night, our room was not tended to, so we made sure to put out the "make up room" sign on the following days. We also noticed that some of the furniture in the parlor is beginning to show wear, particularly on the arms. Overall, the Inn has beautiful design and a welcoming atmosphere, but it would benefit greatly from a much deeper level of cleaning and a bit more attention to maintenance and housekeeping details. And, please polish the silver!!

From the exterior and rear courtyard, the property appeared beautiful, so we went to the front to inquire about room rates and availability and to briefly view the lobby to determine whether we might stay here on a future visit. Before we could even step inside, we were abruptly stopped by a staff member who was extremely rude and dismissive. We calmly explained that we were staying nearby and were interested in possibly booking a stay in the future. Despite this, he physically blocked our entry, repeatedly pointed to the "registered guests only" sign, and told us to "look online" in a belittling, condescending tone. The manner in which we were treated felt judgmental and based solely on outward appearance, which was humiliating and deeply uncomfortable. The interaction occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Friday, February 13th, and left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome during what was meant to be a celebratory Valentine's weekend trip. Hospitality is about making people feel welcome, not judged or dismissed. Management should consider customer service training, as this type of interaction has no place in a hospitality environment. Based on this experience alone, we would not consider staying here in the future.
