Our celebration of my Husband's birthday evening was a huge success thanks to Chef Val. The moment I reserved the dinner, Val was there to discuss menu choices and options, adjusting to preferences and putting me at ease. I had never hired a private chef and he patiently walked me through what the evening would hold. He checked in with me several times before the date. On time, prepared, organized, personable and obviously extremely talented is the best way to describe him. We had the opportunity to observe and engage or just sit back with a glass of wine as Val worked his magic. We did a bit of both. He brought a helper, Alex who was also very friendly, worked hard in the background and took some great pictures. Our menu included a pecan encrusted grouper that was amazing. A favorite was the truffled mushroom bisque. I appreciated the local sourcing of ingredients. We will definitely hire Chef Val again when we return to the Charleston area. Thanks Chef!!! read more

Chef Val was terrific! We had a family 70th Birthday party for Grandma at a large beach house on Hilton Head with 8 adults and 8 kids. He and his team, an assist chef and media person, were very personable & easy to work with. Chef Val developed and delivered a fabulous customized dinner celebration that exceeded my expectations. He was on time & used all locally sourced fresh fish and fruits & veggies. He even customized the "kids meals for kids" all under 8 YO they loved it. "Best chicken fingers ever" they remarked. Chef Val is a great chef, and you can tell he puts his heart into his cooking. Not only does he create delicious, beautifully plated meals, but he also great company. He is well-prepared, very organized and transparent all so that he can execute a great event. Chef Val would explain how he created the dish and where he sourced his ingredients, which made the meal. He is very creative with his menu and his style is enjoyably different. Chef Val served our party of 12 people (including kids). He had an assistant and offered a photographer to take pictures of us to help us remember the event. Having Chef Val and his team prepare dinner for us was definitely the right choice to celebrate my mother's birthday. Chef Val cooks and creates amazing dishes and provides an unforgettable experience. I have hired him to do 2 different dinners for my clients and none of us can stop talking about the food! The first dinner I enjoyed was 3 courses the second was 4 courses. He gave me the menus and we chose our courses. He came to our home and served the meal and it was so relaxing and enjoyable. The appetizer for the first meal was devil on horseback and it was out of this world. We also had pork tenderloin for the main course and creme brulee. He sources high quality ingredients and is very deliberate in his choices. After eating two of his meals, I do think it's better than any restaurant and the experience cannot be beat because it's in your home or another cool location, not in a restaurant. We hired Chef Val to cook dinner for three couples for a 40th birthday while staying in Tybee Island. The experience was nothing short of amazing! From the beginning with menu planning to the end, Chef Val was so helpful and professional. The night of the dinner he and his assistant were very prepared and so fun! We stood around the island, talked to them both, watched Chef prepare the food, and enjoyed listening to all of the tips he gave! He presented each course with where the ingredients came from and how it was prepared. To say the food was UNBELIEVEABLE is a complete understatement. I couldn't tell you which course was my favorite because they all were delectable. It was an incredible experience and one that we hope to repeat on a future trip. read more

Chef Val prepared an amazing four course meal for our bachelorette party of 19 in Savannah. He accommodated everyones dietary needs and was communicative and helpful throughout the entire process. We had the most amazing birthday meal. I was celebrating my 70th, and my oldest daughter was celebrating her 50th.
