Not much to say about the decor as it is a fairly typical breakfast joint. But oh the food and Service will get you in the best possible way! We watched many plates of food being delivered while we pondered our choices. Our server was incredibly helpful and very patient while we poured over the fairly extensive menu. We settled on our meals and didn't have to wait long to enjoy them. The food is out of this world, the portion sizes are ridiculously generous, and the pricing is fair making this an excellent bang for the buck.

We arrived just before 10:00 today (Monday) and had a short wait of less than 10 minutes. Tables were packed for this federal holiday. They have daily specials that they change out daily. I didn't notice it until I was lying and missed out on loco Moco today! It is posted right behind the register. We started off with onion rings with ranch. Does have a pretty THICK batter. Huge Menu! Lots of options! I was pretty shocked they didn't have a croissant breakfast sandwich which was what I was craving. :/ My youngest ordered country fried steak today. Partner ordered Hannah's- bacon, eggs and french toast. I ordered Cathy's huevos rancheros. Servings are huge. We all ate half and picked half Togo! Service was really nice. Ambiance was warm

This is a very professionally run restaurant with an attentive staff which is refreshing to see in a business today. The manager stopped by the table to check-in on our meal which is head and shoulders above almost every restaurant I've been to at any price point. Keep up the good work!

A Great Breakfast Stop After a Hike in Auburn! We came here…read morefor breakfast during the week after a hike in Auburn. We had just finished the Lake Clementine/Dam hike and were very hungry afterward, so we headed into town and ended up at Mario's. First of all, Mario's is a very pretty space. I loved the black-and-white aesthetic and the simple but thoughtful décor. There's bar seating, booths, and tables both inside and outside. Parking is plentiful, so that's definitely not an issue. I started with a regular latte, while my cousin ordered a chai latte. My latte was beautiful and served in a very original, deep, low cup that I absolutely loved. It was delicious and just perfect. Unfortunately, the chai latte wasn't really to our liking. It didn't taste much like chai to us--it had a strong cinnamon flavor and a combination of flavors that made it difficult to tell exactly what we were drinking. So, the chai was definitely not our favorite. For breakfast, I ordered what I would call their breakfast sampler, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns, which also came with a portion of French toast. My cousin ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich. My eggs and hash browns were amazing, and there was plenty of bacon! I chose all bacon, and it was thick-cut, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The plates here are HUGE, and the portions are definitely abundant. My cousin's Monte Cristo was their lighter take on the classic. Instead of being deep-fried, their version is dipped in batter and cooked, which makes it a little less heavy. It looked beautiful and had plenty of ingredients inside, but for us, it was just okay. We've definitely had better Monte Cristo sandwiches. Now, the French toast... WOW. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. The bread had this delicious cinnamon-sugar coating on top that took it to another level. Add the soft, fluffy butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely superb. That French toast alone would bring me back! I also appreciated the nice, cold ice water that was kept at our table throughout the meal. Service was super nice and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they were. I also loved how many options they give you to customize your meal. I could choose between different types of bacon, sausage, or turkey, and my cousin was able to customize her sandwich and ended up choosing cottage cheese to go with a healthier, higher-protein option. They also have sweet potato fries, regular fries, and plenty of other sides that you can substitute depending on what you're looking for. The ambiance was great, everything was clean and well maintained, and even the bathrooms were in good condition. Overall, this was a very good breakfast experience. Not everything was a home run for us, but the service, atmosphere, generous portions, customization options, and especially that French toast made it a place I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. And after a hike? Even better!

I was reading some of the horrible reviews, and I think this is a family owned restaurant, and that one of the older ladies there, not the owner, has a developmental disability. It doesn't necessarily mean she's rude, that's her demeanor due to her disability. I've worked with young children, teenagers, as well as young adults to see the signs. Aside from that, owner/host reminds me of an auntie that's cooking for you at home. The name of the restaurant is awesome! It's very catchy! The decor may not be for everyone, but it's not about that, it's about what you're eating! The place is cool and they have lots of memorabilia that makes them or shows their personality, and frankly, I think it's cool! Ample parking, outdoor seating, with umbrella coverage, small mom n pop diner. Restrooms clean- and tables and area are clean as well. The sweet fries are so good with a distinctive BBQ, sweet flavor, and all their different dipping sauces are delicious. I was dipping them into all. I ordered the bean patty burger and my partner the double burger and chicken strips. The bean burger was so good. I loved adding the sauces inside. I also ordered the special watermelon and cucumber salad. Let me tell you- that is one interesting concoction. My taste buds were loving it, super refreshing on a hot day. The clam chowder was ok, I think it could use a little more umphh.. as in flavor, aside from that- I'd love to come back and try more. I thought it was very sweet, while waiting for our food, table next to us were celebrating a b day, and they brought out a slice of cake with a candle. Very cute.

Enjoyed a cup of the French onion soup and the five way grilled cheese sandwich with some freshly brewed iced tea. I'd almost forgotten how charming Mimi's is, both inside and out. It's decorated like a little (big!) French cafe ~ adorable. While they weren't particularly busy, the server apologized for the delay in getting over to my table to take my order. No worries since I wasn't in a hurry. The tea was fresh and tasty and my request for simple syrup was met without a blink of an eye. Unfortunately, it seems my order might have sat around for a while since the sandwich was almost cold by the time it reached me (not exactly what you want with a grilled cheese). But it was still delicious. As was the French onion soup, albeit a touch on the too-salty side for my taste ~ and I really like salt! Overall, I'd give this particular visit 3.5 stars but will round up for good measure and the friendly service.
