Finally got to try Mas Taco Bar for the first time ever tonight, and I loved it. While I wouldn't necessarily describe these as some of the best tacos I've ever had in my life, they were top tier, and I would definitely eat here again. This was definitely one of the most extensive and unique taco menus I've ever seen. It was like the Cheesecake Factory of tacos. We started with the chips and guacamole, which was good, but honestly just a tad under ripe. But we were basically able to make up for that with lime and cotija (which it was topped with). For the main course, I ordered the taco plate special (2 tacos plus rice and beans for $11.99) with the Korean fried chicken taco and the carne asada taco. My friend got the same thing but with the short rib taco and blackened salmon taco. My tacos were amazing. The fried chicken was as crunchy and delicious as could be. I loved the bao bun shell. The chicken had just enough spice to give it a little kick, but was also sweet and savory. The carne asada taco was what I would describe as top tier for an American taco place. Maybe not street cart quality, but pretty close. My friend and I didn't try the drinks because we don't drink, but I noticed that they had a mocktail menu with about five drinks for about five bucks each. The service was fantastic. The waiter seemed very experienced and good at his job. I was surprised when my friend asked for the bill, and the server handed him his little handheld device and said, "Here you go." I said, "I'm going to remember this as an iconic moment of feeling older." I haven't been out to eat in a minute, but this was completely new to me. I used to be a server, and keeping all my ticket books in order was like, a big part of my job. Servers would secretly steal the best books from each other, or sometimes bring their own from home. I would spend several minutes per shift writing out little messages like, "Thanks so much! Happy Easter!! =D" Gone are the days. The restaurant was really clean and well lit, and the tables were well spaced. The covered patio looked like it would also be a nice place to sit in slightly cooler weather. read more

I've been here a few times and it's been good. This last time was absolutely horrible. The margarita, and chips & Gauc were the only thing decent. We ordered 5 different tacos and all were very gross. The food was cold and tasted awful. The fish taco was the worst. It tasted as if the fish had been sitting out for a few hours and they just threw it on a tortilla and called it good. When I complained, the server didn't care. I asked for a manager and they said we don't have one. To find out, there is no manager at all the folsom location. So you can see where the quality of food was lacking. I'm still waiting for a refund and no one has called me back from any of the other locations. Because if you need to make a calling, you'll need to call another location with a manager. We left and got dinner elsewhere because we were still hungry. And on top of it, had a very bad stomach ache for 24 hours after eating there. Beware! read more

My family and I came here to celebrate our mom's birthday since we were already in the area, and I'm glad we did. We were seated quickly, and our waiter was very friendly. After getting our waters and menus, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices--especially for a more upscale spot. I expected the tacos to be pricier, but they were actually pretty reasonable. Most of us ordered the two-taco plate, which came with rice and beans, and we also shared chips and salsa for the table. The salsa was so good--I honestly couldn't pick a favorite. Some Tuesdays are just Tuesdays... and then some Tuesdays earn a standing ovation. This one started with a workout at Life Time with a friend, the kind where you walk out feeling accomplished, exhausted, and just delusional enough to think, "Yeah... I probably burned enough calories to justify tacos." Then one of us said the five most romantic words in the English language: "It's Taco Tuesday... you up?" At that point there was no discussion, no hesitation, no council meeting. Just a unanimous, spirit-led, fully committed hell yes. We rolled into Palladio, parked with the usual little scavenger hunt that comes with parking there, and made our way inside. Right off the bat we were greeted and told to grab a seat, which already set the tone. No awkward standing around, no "wait here while we pretend not to see you," just immediate hospitality. Love that. We found a table with a view of the game, and while my friend is a hockey fan, she was going to have to sit in temporary suffering because basketball had the screen and that was simply the Lord's plan for the evening. Then our waiter arrived. Not walked up. Arrived. This man moved like a taco-serving phantom. Drinks? Boom. Menus? Boom. Chips and salsa? Boom. Gone before we could even process his speed. Then just when we thought, "Wait... did he disappear into another dimension?" he reappeared, took our order, and vanished again like some kind of hospitality Batman. Now usually if a server is moving like that, you start wondering if you've been abandoned. Not here. This man had range. Precision. Timing. He wasn't absent--he was surgical. Every time we needed something, he somehow materialized out of thin air like he had taco telepathy. And let me tell you right now... those chips and salsa? Dangerous. The kind of dangerous where you tell yourself, "I'm gonna save room for the tacos," while your hand keeps reaching into the basket like it has its own free will. Crispy, fresh, flavorful--easily some of the best chips and salsa I've had in a long time. They didn't come to the table as an appetizer... they came as a warning. Then the tacos landed. We both got the carne asada, and the first bite felt like my taste buds got slapped awake and told to get back to work. Bam. Flavor right out the gate. Seasoned well, cooked right, and exactly what your soul is asking for after an hour and a half of trying to become a better person in the gym. These tacos didn't just hit the spot--they pulled up, kicked the door open, and moved in. And I appreciate when a place doesn't just rely on good food to carry the whole night. The restaurant was clean, organized, and welcoming, and the bathrooms were spotless--which, let's be honest, tells you a lot about a place. If the bathrooms are clean, there's usually excellence somewhere in the building. Even paying the check felt like part of the magic act. I swear I never actually saw our waiter coming or going. One second we were talking, the next second the bill was handled. Like sir... are you a man or are you a beautifully efficient mirage? I really wish I had gotten his name because he absolutely crushed it. So here's the final score: Post-workout tacos? Elite move. Great service? Check. Clean restaurant? Check. Spotless bathrooms? Check. Carne asada tacos that made me forgive leg day? Absolutely. Mas Taco delivered the kind of Taco Tuesday that deserves to be protected at all costs. Mas Taco Bar is a great little place to go to in Palladio for a quick bite or dinner. It is family and kid friendly with ample seating inside and out for small parties or larger gatherings. Their team of servers and workers are friendly and personable, which in this day and age does not go unnoticed by me. Especially when our server went above and beyond to check in and ensured our beverages were refilled without asking. Portion sizes are just right and dishes are made with a delicious and flavorful flare. Just a quick drink at the bar before our Help Elite event! It was pretty busy for a Monday night. Most of the tables were full and we noticed there was outdoor seating available. We were coming in before our event to pregame! With an open bar top, service was fast! We each ordered a short modelo. Every inch of Mas Taco Bar was decorated like it was a Fiesta. Ordered a few tacos- Al pastor, great but sweet and comes with chunks of pineapple. The meat is super tender and juicy- def one of their best taco options. Spur of the moment lunch after a massage. It was 4th of July and happy hour time. We started to order small to see how we felt and we wanted to try happy hr dishes! The chips and salsa were yummy. My husband like his jalapeños balls. My elote was good but a tad sweet and not from the corn. Potato taco, wasn't the biggest fan. Margarita was pretty standard tasting. When we visited a few months ago, I asked about vegan options and was told the potato tacos could be made vegan (they were out of the Impossible asada at the time). I've been to Mas Taco a few times now, and every visit has been consistently delicious. I've tried a range of their tacos: the pork al pastor, braised short rib, Korean fried chicken, pork belly, and birria. So far, everything I've had has been flavorful and satisfying. The Korean fried chicken taco in particular is my favorite--perfectly crispy, flavorful, and totally craveable. What I really appreciate is the variety on the menu--they offer both simple, classic taco options as well as more creative, elevated ones. So far, everything I've tried has been tasty and well-prepared. That said, this is a four-star spot for me, only because on a few occasions, I felt like the tacos could've been filled with more, especially for the price point. Not every taco was like that, but a couple definitely came out looking a little light on the protein. Still super yummy--I just would've loved a bit more in the tortilla. The ambience is modern and stylish, with an inviting layout--you walk in to a nice bar and plenty of seating. It strikes a good balance between casual and slightly upscale. Service has always been friendly and efficient, and food comes out quickly. I have been going to Mas taco bar in Folsom for years. I have had my friends go there. We went there today for lunch and it was the worst lunch I have ever had. Their corporation has decided to change their tortillas and now they fry their tortillas in oil. I had Baja fish tacos. They were the greasiest tacos I've ever had. My friend had a fish taco breaded it was so salty. She couldn't eat it. She had a beef taco that was nothing but fat. I asked them if they changed their tortillas and she said yes so as long as they have these tortillas, I will not be eating here again. We've visited the Sacramento Mas Taco Bar many times and always enjoyed the drinks and the food is decent - not the best but decent food. So when we were in Folsom, we were excited to see the same spot--unfortunately, this location didn't measure up. We were seated quickly on the patio and greeted by a friendly server, but service disappeared after that. Our margaritas were great, but we were never offered another round. We ordered chips and guac which they serve as whole tostadas - they were stale and rubbery. The tacos, even more disappointing. We ordered two each and honestly, the visuals of what was served was appalling. My chicken taco just had a spoonful of meat that had clearly just been plopped on a tortilla - I wish I had taken a photo. Also, some tacos had two tortillas, some one, even of the same kind? I could maybe get over bad food but we couldn't get a second margarita to save our lives. Our server never checked in, didn't ask if we needed anything, and cleared plates, presented our check and moved on. Ribeye steak taco was also dry and as others mentioned it came with only one tortilla while the others had two. August secret shrimp taco was the best of the three with a delicious chipotle sauce but sadly it is not in the regular menu. Would I go back? Hmmm. This place is wickedly popular. Finally I got a chance again on a recent Sunday for an early dinner. I was with a large group of 17. We called a few hours ahead to set up a reservation which we secured. Right when you step in, it's the bar area. Impressive top shelf liquor display that takes up nearly the entire wall. They have indoor and outdoor seating. TVs throughout that are tuned into sports. The outdoor seating is covered and enclosed reminding me of a green room. There was a fireplace that gave off a lot of heat. The vibe is family friendly. Onto the food.., Chips n Salsa. $4.25. The chips were fried tortillas... aka tostada shells. Street sized taco tortilla. The order comes with two salsas, red and green salsa verde. Not sure if they were fresh house made but sure looked and tasted like it. Delicious Drunken chicken taco. $3.95. I don't know how they got the chicken drunk. But it was delicious. Moist, seasoned, flavorful pieces of chicken. The tacos were priced around $5. Short rib taco. $4.45. I got unlucky with the short rib meat. In my taco, the meat was mostly fat. Big, globby pieces that had the same coloring of the cooked short rib. But the others in my party didn't have that issue. They got hefty gorgeous looking pieces of short rib. I swiped a piece from one of their tacos. Mmm... it was delicious. Tender, soft with a fantastic rich deep meaty flavor. Posole. $7.50. It was a bland tasting even with a squeeze of lime. It did look beautiful though. Bright, fresh colors. And it was presented well. Our waiter took our order while various other staff delivered the food. When we asked for extra plates and drink refills from the various staff other than our waiter, we never got them. We asked for extra plates since they batched a bunch of taco orders onto one plate. Our waiter was handling a bunch of other tables as well. He was great. But obviously stretched thin. This place is one of my favorites due to their a la carte menu and wide unique variety of tacos! Some of my favorites are the fried oyster taco, braised short rib, and thai beef. I've come to Mas Taco a few times. The food is alright and the restaurant is very nice with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food I'd skip this place. We ordered the impossible asada taco, potato taco, pork al pastor taco and the habanero fire balls. The potato taco came with sliced mini potatoes which was interesting and the flavor was bland. You can tell they use canned pineapple with the al pastor taco and the habanero fire balls didn't have any habanero in it or bacon which was a bummer. The portions in the tacos were much, much smaller than in the past. There was more tortilla shell than there was filling. My sister ordered the Korean fried chicken taco and there was only ONE piece of meat in the whole taco! Extremely disappointing. I won't be coming back for a while. I wrote a review for Mas Taco and they must've paid to have it removed. Used to go all the time, but will not return. The service is weird, as one couple next to us received great service, but we were excluded. We always have a nice attitude with waitstaff, but it didn't matter. The tacos are overpriced and small. Dry meat with sauce. You have to pay $8 for chips and salsa. They seem to not be able to get your drink out prior to your food being served, and twice I've had to wait for a margarita I ordered after finishing my food. I've visited the midtown Sacramento location several times and had a great service. I was in the Folsom area and decided to check this place out. I came with a large group. One thing that Mas Taco Bar is known for is there margaritas. I ordered a Mezcal Margarita and sadly it didn't meet my expectations. I didn't even finish it. There's a big difference between this location and the one in Sacramento. I typically order at least 2 but this location I only ordered one. (Took 2 Stars off because that is one of the main reasons why I come here) The appetizers were good. Got Chips with guac, salsa, and the corn dish. This was consistent with the Sacramento location. The highlight of the show though is the Breakfast Pupusa. I never came here for brunch before and the waiter recommended this dish. This comes with scrambled egg, cotija cheese, slow roasted pork, cilantro, onions, roasted tomato salsa. This tasted amazing! Would highly recommend if coming brunch. The service was in the middle, I had to wave down the server a couple of times, and they weren't even busy. Overall this place is okay, I rather go to the midtown location in Sacramento, but I'm willing to give this place another shot. read more

We would go there frequently because of the tostones with the most savory tender braised ribs which were super delicious but we were so disappointed that they took it off the menu because they had an issue with their supplier. Now it appears that they have recently decided to change the entire menu and now the food tastes super bland. Thru changed the only guacamole that I will eat because it had such great flavor but now it's just a smashed avocado. They did away with the black beans and white rice and replaced with their poor version of Latin rice which had a few areas of uncooked crunchy rice served with watery refried beans that look just like vomit. No kidding! I figured maybe they would taste good and gave them the benefit of the doubt and lo and behold they were pretty gross. They tasted just as bad as they looked and I can't believe they serve them to customers. I quickly returned them back to the kitchen. We are not sure whose idea it was to make all of those changes but we may only just stop in for their Horchata cold coffee which is pretty awesome and I am not even a coffee drinker. Hopefully they won't decide to change that too or take it off the menu. But other than that, they have lost a group of loyal customers for lunch and dinner. Sorry Mas Tacos! Seating & Service: Mas Taco locations have indoor and outdoor seating which are both comfortable. Service is usually fast, but have had 2 times where the wait for food was distinctly long. Recent visits have been better! Food: The menu rotates (does have staples) so if you've got a favorite make sure to get it!
