I happened to have the glasses on me when i walked by, so I decided to stop in and see if they could help me. the lady at the front desk was super friendly, and said yes that's no problem! before she was finished the guy at the first station was already coming over to help. of course they can't take responsibility for issues that occur on products they don't sell, but I was willing to take my chance on tightening a screw. :) I was in and out in maybe 2 minutes, all smiles and sures and no problems the entire time. if I had a need for actual optometry I would come here for sure. read more

Dr. Brandon Butler has been our optometrist for a number of years so initially went to Studio Optix for him. Every visit has been a pleasant experience. I knew what to expect of Dr. Butler but every staff member is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Adam has assisted us with selection of frames (one of his specialties) and explaining our insurance coverage, which he's also excellent at. Front desk attendants, assistants and technicians are all equally good. The shop has state of the art equipment and they have an extensive selection of frames for every taste. This is not a turn and burn shop. Every customer is attended to fully and without rush. For us, visiting Studio Optix is visiting friends. read more

Adam will help you find glasses specifically for your face, I realize many stores will say that they will help you but he actually takes the time to do so. He looks at your facial structure to pick out the glasses that most complement you and explain why. I wanted a very specific pair of glasses that were unfortunately out of stock, he moved having an earth to help me find them and we were lucky enough to do so. Dr. Butler made me feel incredibly comfortable with the process of my exam, and explained thoroughly the changes in my eyes. This is a family owned company, and they truly care. Questions for the business manager/owner: - How much $ have you guys billed for without your customers' knowledge? - And out of that $, how much did you pocket without providing service/product for? - I didn't realize you operated a SaaS company and booked deferred revenues - maybe I forgot to execute that contract your lawyers sent over? Borderline fraudulent if not a VERY slimy front office (no issues with the optometrist - my doctor was friendly and good). The business had the audacity to tell me their billing practice was correct when I contacted them, so I was forced to call my insurance to resolve (which they did easily). Issues 1) Billed my insurance for my full $250 annual allowance but I only purchased $140 of products. This was done without my knowledge/permission. I realized this 4 months later after checking my annual allowance. Studio Optix never told me that I had credit so they would have pocketed the excessive amount (just like your ex-gf that wants nothing to do with you, no email, text, or phone). This could have been OK if they agreed to refund me after I called, but they refused to and told me this was the correct method and I need to bring a new prescription to them if I want to use my credit (good try but didn't work this time for you). Ended up calling my insurance company to have them claw back my credit. 2) Did not provide OEM rebate on contact lenses until after I chased multiple times via email and phone (3 in total). Had this issue during my first purchase last year but I let it go because it wasn't a huge deal. But if you ever order from these guys just realize they don't care about their customers' pockets. read more

Everything from beginning to end here was sort of awful. The front desk barely acknowledged me when I entered (with an online appointment, which also took some back and forth to schedule). The technician doing the various scans and tests was very curt, even by NYC standards. The doctor kept asking me why I was there and how I heard about the place. I kept saying that I wanted an annual update to my prescription and that I lived nearby. I was then escorted to a sales person who was very fast and loose with the billing. I left without any paperwork or email receipts believing that the majority of my glasses would be covered by insurance only to be charged an exorbitant amount, even by NYC standards. I guess I should have known that Rockefeller Center rent would result in said prices. When I picked up my glasses I was disappointed to discover that the prescription is actually incorrect, which I confirmed with another optician. So, now I've used my annual insurance allowance, spent $1000+ and have no updated glasses. read more

I walked past Studio Optix on a Sunday afternoon and immediately spotted a pair of unique glasses in the window. Of course it was Sunday and they were supposed to be close, but my luck two people were working overtime. He takes the time to explain the results from all of the eye tests performed and compares results year over year. He goes above and beyond by explaining how the eye works in relation to your eye health. I'll respond the comments made by the business I wish there was someone in the office to take notes on everything so now it doesn't have to become your word vs my word. but anyway...I will share the facts and would leave it to whoever reading this to see if it's worth visiting this place 1. First of all, I was mostly upset about the horrible things that you said during the visit, which I have quoted in my initial review. Based on your reply, you seemed to call those words as your "professional advice", which is amazing to me as it seems that your interpretation of "professional" is a bit questionable 2. Secondly, let's get the fact straight. I came in with -4.25 (left and right). The test showed that I should wear -4.50 left, -4.75 right.. After trying the glasses, I told you that they were a bit much, so you lowered my right eye to -4.50. After we were finished with the glasses, we moved on to contact lense. I told you I had this issue with my right eye, so you suggest me to lower my left eye to -4.25 to lessen the stress and asked me to try different combinations. (425/425, 425/450, 450/450) So I walked out with -4.25 left and 4.50 right and a bunch of lenses in 425 and 450 to spent 4-5-days to try those. However, In your reply below, your mention of "-0.25 both" " after a week..., which would usually take a day".... further proved that you didn't remember anything, even now! Your definition of "I remember you extremely well" in your comment is also questionable...and this is exactly why I felt frustrated in the second visit as mentioned in my earlier review 3. Not important, but I don't know what you were talking about regarding I didn't wear lenses coming back for the second visit...i did, otherwise I can't see at -450 both..check security footage please 4, Yes, I came back because neither of the combination that you had given me was comfortable and I wanted to check whether there was something wrong with the my eye - that's why I made an appointment with you and my expectation is that you were going to check again per my conversation with the front desk I'm also confused by your comments "you apparently still could not decide and eventually returned back to Studio Optix"...do you mean that every patient has to purchase lenses after one visit no matter how uncomfortable they were after visiting Studio Optix? And they are not allowed to see doctor again? Finally You mentioned that you have been practicing for over 20 years. I respect that and I believe you must have outstanding track records on technical stuff. But your experience doesn't mean that you were entitled to treat your patient this way (at least me, I can speak for others). Frankly, you could have handled this much better if you really felt that you couldn't help me, and I won't blame you. But Instead, you chose to go with "I have no time for this" "you are splitting hair", "this should be a slam dunk" as well as complaining to your staff while i was still there in your office read more

I wish to respond to the comment made by "Adam C." to my comment. You're playing semantics and being dishonest - yet again - which is really shameful. First, your website has your company's name on the top of it. As such, your business should stand by the pricing listed on YOUR website. Period. Yet, you refused to do that. And your employee at the store lied over and over to me - claiming you didn't give prices on your website - even though you clearly did. Just blatant dishonesty. Second, I did not need to "search deep online" to find this brand - it's a very popular brand that's sold on virtually every single contact lens website and optometrist office. So, lying in your post today - and pretending this was some obscure brand - just shows again how disingenuous you are and how you will resort to deceit rather than acknowledging the fact that you refused to stand by the pricing listed on your site. As for your excuse that you're a small business - Sir, this does not excuse your behavior: It doesn't matter if you're a small or large business. I love this place! They are really straight forward, efficient, and willing to help when it comes to your insurance and pricing. They have a large selection of "free frames" that come with your insurance, stylish frames and designer frames. One thing I really like is that their are multiple people working at the desks to assist you with your glasses. So you get the attention that you want and it keeps things moving. Wish I could add a sixth star! Today I picked up my 3rd pair of glasses from Studio Optix (usually get a new pair every 2 years - insurance restrictions) - haven't even worn these new ones 1 full day and I've already received 2 compliments from total strangers. I've never had my eyes examined before by Studio Optix, this was the first time and I'm so glad I did. The exam by Dr. Sarah Klibanoff was outstanding. The technology they now use doesn't require your eyes to be dilated (yes there's an additional charge but frankly it's quite minimal). After the eye exam the process is quite simple. You sit with one of the technicians and they ask you a few questions about your style, wants, etc. then they return with nothing short of about 1/2 dozen to a dozen frames. Never-ever have I been to an eyeglass store where I saw more than 1 pair I actually liked. Not here, there were so many to choose from that I actually really liked so I went with the recommendation of the person helping me and boy am I glad I did. Don't let the few shelves of glasses fool you - they literally have hundreds to choose from and the help they provide is 1st class. They tell it like it is, they feel it doesn't suit you they tell you! So long story short (I know, too late), not only do I love my new glasses but i don't think I've ever had clearer vision thanks to Dr. Klibanoff and her exam. Everyone I've interacted with there was incredibly nice, friendly and more than willing to help, you should check these folks out. This place is so amazing (cool and trendy) that I actually look forward to buying a new pair, never thought I'd say that about an optical store! read more

My experience here was AMAZING. Let me lay it down for you- if you don't wanna read my woes (or lack there-of) scroll down to the end for a brief summation ;). So I needed to renew my license on Thursday and I looked up closer areas by me, low and behold this place came up on the map. I call at 11:00 AM- and I'm told I can just walk in for a quick eye exam. I show up at approximately 1 and I am taken care of in the most quick and efficient manner possible! I loved it so much that I scheduled an eye exam for the next day! Come Friday, I walk in again during my lunch hour, and am taken through the most methodical and precise eye exam I have ever had! Believe me when I say this is a HUGE compliment- because my vision is so bad, I usually would have doctors spending what felt like hours trying to figure out which lens to put on where, but with Studio Optix state of the art machinery, there was no such buffoonery going on (thank the heavens). Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances that morning, I didn't have time to choose my frames after work, so once I finished both my lens and contact exam AND got a complimentary set of contact solution from the charismatic doctor, I was absolutely accommodated and told to come in when I had the time- with my discount being applicable for whenever I chose to come in and make my purchase. The time came to make my purchase exactly a week later, when on the next Friday, I went in after work to select a pair of frames. Can I just say, they have such a stylish selection of lenses I wanted to take it all with me, AND I even tried to purchase two! However, my financial woes came back to bite me in the you-know-where, and Studio Optix STILL worked with me to give me a full refund on my second pair. Essentially, Studio Optix is the embodiment of you get what you pay for. They provided, hands-down, one of the most competent, efficacious and thorough eye exams I've ever had. They were extremely well versed in their insurance speak- meaning they were very cognizant and on top of their need to lay down ALL of your options, even the ones you didn't think you needed to know. They are all knowledgeable in their craft, and happy to provide you with quick, but individualistic service (though Adam was my personal angel!).
