I am a blonde devotee in lots of shades over the years, full and partial highlights, long short and in between. She does it all. Cannot recommend highly enough. Couldn't be happier with my experience! I would highly recommend this hair salon. I get very anxious about hair cuts because I've had a lot of bad ones in my life- not everyone knows how to cut curly hair! Because of that it had been several years since my hair had been cut. I had an appointment with Julie who listened to my concerns and was very polite and pleasant to talk to. She did a phenomenal job, it was exactly what I hoped for. I will definitely be returning! The price was great as well, most places who had people experienced with curly hair were asking at least double what she was. I have paid for hair cuts costing over $100 before and have never been as happy with them as I am with this cut. For anyone on the fence about this salon I would say give it a try, it is reasonably priced, the staff were all friendly, and most importantly I am very happy with my hair! read more

I've gone back and forth about adding this business, but I think it's my duty to let others know what they're in for. So, two stars... it's a really cute quaint little shop. I needed a bikini waxing, a brazilian, and I asked over the phone if they flip you over. Haha, I know, funny question, but you want it all gone, that's the point, and some people just aren't that good at doing so! Well, while I was on the phone, without the use of the hold button, the girl asked the cosmotologist if she would in deed flip me over. I heard some muffled talk and the receptionist said "yeah, I don't know why she would ask that." Well, hopefully now she knows, and also remembers to use the hold button. No biggie though, now lets see if this Enelsie can wax... Really nice lady, makes you very comfortable all bottomless and spread eagle, BUT the answer to my question is NO. Maybe she's awesome with the hair on your head, but don't go there for waxing. I left bruised and red, uncomfortable and sad :( It was such a shock to me to have it go that bad... I didn't say anything when I looked down and saw all the brocken blood vessels from no holding the skin taught enough, or maybe she didn't wait long enough to pull so she had to go over the area again and again... but I know she saw it, and she didn't say anything, I'm sure she already felt kinda bad about that. And I felt some left over fuzz so I said something and she went back and tried to do more, but the fact was I knew I wasn't gonna win this one. I sucked it up and paid the $50, plus a $6 tip... she was doing her job, I mean she was trying her best, but lesson learned. My sister also left maimed, her eyebrows although adequately shaped were bleeding from nipping the skin with tweezers. Man.. just writing about it bums me out. Well... anyone who needs waxing, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

This full service salon is amazing. The staff are so friendly and personable. I have thinning wavy hair; and, am often dissatisfied with my hair cuts. Julie put me at ease right away. My bridal party got our hair and makeup done at Studio One Hair Salon. The staff was amazing and the skill displayed was unbelievable! All the girls were so happy with how their make-up and hair looked! I've always had a difficult time finding a stylist who works well with curly hair. I found Julie at Studio One and she is fantastic! Not only does she know how to cut curly hair, she's given me a cut that I've learned to style myself and it looks almost as good as when she does it! Not only does it look good when it's blown out straight, but also looks good if I leave in the curls. The place is clean. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I definitely recommend trying this place to find your forever hair stylist!!! read more

When I first started going to this salon it didn't take long before my bill was close to $1,000. They are unbelievably over priced! They think they are upscale but do terrible work! They recently switched ownership and the salon went downhill. During a pedicure she scraped my toe so hard it bleed! I never experienced that in my life! She apologized but of course still charged me full price. My toe hurt for two weeks after that. Once she got annoyed that I did not like her cut because I went back for a fix, she cut it so short just to be spiteful! She then charged me anyway after I spent $160 weeks earlier. If you think you just want to get your nails done, be prepared to listen to non-stop complaining by the nail stylist. She also does your nails so fast to get in more clients, that she misses the sides. JUST DO NOT GO! They are WAY over priced, do terrible work and complain constantly to their clients. They are petty and nickel dime everything. A bad salon. read more

I'm a tough client - I have a hard time sitting still & consider getting highlights my one girly-indulgence - and she is totally patient with me. Also, she is fast, and as I said, she does a fabulous job. I have very long hair, so it takes time and effort to do the job right. I would trust her to do whatever she thought would look best when the time comes for me to cut my hair shorter - she's really that good. :) read more

I have been going to studio one for years and love it. In fact I look forward to it! The stylists make me feel like family with great conversation. I have always been very pleased with my cut and I have used 4 different stylists. They also carry a line of hair products that are quality and diverse. I am comfortable going there as a male end thou they are a very beautiful, element salon. I have been so pleased that I have sent my family members there and they too have been very happy. As I live across the river there are plenty of places I could go closer to home but I chose to make the trip as it is well worth it! This teacher gives studio one an A+ read more

I love Lisa at studio one. I just got back from a rather drastic haircut and I am very pleased with the results. I went from my hair reaching my lower back to just passing my shoulders. The cut was beautifully executed and Lisa was very attentive to my ideas and requests. She is really great at creating layers and bangs. My sister has even had very short Betty Paige style bangs cut by her before and they looked perfect. Everyone else at the salon is very sweet as well. When I lived in New York and in San Francisco I honestly would always get my hair cut in chinatown because it was cheapest and usually I felt less pressure because no one would speak english to me. I'm not particularly comfortable with the stereotypical salon atmosphere where everyone is talking and gossiping, and while that is what I read as the atmosphere of Studio One, it isn't especially intimidating because most everyone is very pleasant. Anyway, that is something that is sort of weird to add I guess but it's true. The girl at the front desk was very sweet and apologetic when Lisa's earlier appointment ran slightly over. Overall I would highly recommend Studio One. Also, they sell tons of products there from Bare Escentuals to Redken to Morroccan oil. read more
