Techicians are very friendly, professional and there is a sense of calm when you enter the salon. You need an appointment and they don't really accept walk-in appointments and that makes all the difference. Your time is not rushed. read more

I made an appointment several days in advance for Friday as I was going on vacation Saturday. I walked in for my appointment and they said I didn't make one then said I scheduled it for Saturday which I never would have done. I was really looking forward to getting my nails done, won't go back. read more

Chung and Tony are both so nice and what I love about this place is that it doesn't smell toxic. Definitely book ahead, sometimes you can luck out with a walk in or last minute appointment but they book up. They seem to be content with what they are doing and the mood is always sort of sweet in there. Highly recommend. read more

Clean, no nonsense place with no upsell. I was initially disappointed to learn that they don't take walk-ins but it's actually great to walk right in for your appointment and have everything ready to go with no waiting. I was in and out in less than an hour for a basic mani-pedi. I feel like the mani-pedi was as good as some of the local day spas I've gone to for a fraction of the price. read more

I grew up outside Kingston, live in CA now and get a mani-pedi every two weeks. Anytime I'm back to visit, it's a struggle to find a good mani-pedi place. After many frustrating years, I think I've finally found it. I will admit, it was a bit weird walking in, as the shops only two employees are both men. As a man, I'm used to women manicurists. The vibe is refreshingly different - while there was mellow instrumental music playing, it was very quiet, allowing for a true sense of relaxation and zen...the men are friendly and the place is sparkly clean. The guy that did my mani-pedi was great....although I'd have liked the massage portion to be a bit longer, I'm very happy. This will now be my go-to place anytime I visit. Thank you! read more

Tony and Chung are the very best at what they do! Professional, knowledgeable and they take pride in their work. The salon is clean, the atmosphere is calming and their work is impeccable. My nails were in pretty bad shape from previous salons but within three visits I saw a visible difference in their appearance and health. Highly recommend, but almost don't want people to know because it will get harder to get an appt! read more

my new favorite place! it seems as though there are only 2 (male!) nail techs. i've been to nail salons in the area where male nail techs have made me feel uncomfortable, but they were amazing, sweet, and professional! i got a mani pedi and i wore a skirt, and the man gave me a towel for my lap so that he wouldn't see up my skirt :) my nails came out great, and the prices were super reasonable! the place is small and extremely sanitary, i love it! i will definitely be back! read more

Tony is awesome! Normally I am not very comfortable with men doing my nails but Tony is great! He is very meticulous. If he doesn't like the way my nails turned out, he has no problem redoing them without me saying anything. I know that when I go to get my nails done, they are going to look great. The establishment is very clean, the music is very soothing and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend going here. You will not be disappointed. read more

This is one of those reviews I'm reluctant to write, because I want to keep this as a best kept secret for myself. I mean, if I tell you how great this place is, will I ever be able to get an appt? Giggle. Got a mani pedi last week, and the experience was terrific. The proprietor Tony is a one man show, which makes the private experience really delightful. There was the right about of conversation, but what's more important? It has been almost a week and my manicure has one small self inflicted chip. I mean my hands and toes look PERFECT... still!!! Prices are very reasonable, and the quality of the job is top notch. Make sure to make an appointment before you go. read more

Want a small, friendly nail salon where you're dealing just with the owners? Prices are great, the place is immaculate, and Tony is a wizard with powder dip nails...they are delicate and impossible to detect, but wear like iron. read more

I came in for a pedicure awhile back and the 2 gentlemen there were very nice. Very honest and upfront about the price of what I was getting whereas most nail shops you go to always try to sneak in side services to add on to the cost. I was very happy with my pedi, it lasted a month! read more

I decided to get a manicure and pedicure for my son's wedding. I had never had tips before and I my friends told me you have to go to someone that is really, really good if I wanted French tips, which I did. I saw the great reviews on Yelp and made my appointment at Village Nails. Tony did an amazing job! He did not rush and I couldn't have been happier with the result. I still can't believe how great they look. He deserves his 5 star rating on Yelp. Just a tip: Bring change for the parking meters. $1/hour. read more

While Pretty X only has one review, that was enough to bring me here. I honestly came here on a whim. Pretty Xo is dreamy, soft, welcoming and clean. The space has a minimalist-chic feel with their airy, beige walls, flooring is done in blonde wood planks and faux florals adding a touch of color. I started with Lily for my manicure who was super gentle, which I really appreciated. Then Yan took over for my pedicure. She wasn't so frilly- but definitely not rough- just the right amount of strength and attention for my legs. She took her time, especially with trimming and from there, it was all uphill. It's not only about aesthetics (though it's important to me)- it's also about hygiene, safety, and someone working up close and personal on your hands and feet. Beauty Depot on Wall St in Kingston, NY doesn't scream like the place where you can relax and be pampered- but they were able to fit me in on a Sunday with Lexie. My pedi session with her kicked off the usual polish removal, filling, etc. who turned out to be super patient, unhurried and smooth with her hands. For my regular, short-length nails, Lexie provided essential nail+cuticle care, lotion massage, a hot towel wrap and nail polish application. I'm not one to bitch about money when it comes to any of my beauty regimen- but the $50 for both my mani+pedi here- in this trendy side of Kingston is more than what I paid while living in White Plains. Plus theres no attention to detail and it's unkept. The first woman did the prep and it seemed like she was being taught by the second woman how to do acrylics but the second woman clearly also doesn't know what she's doing. Attached are pictures of the atrocity "fill". After applying bricks of acrylic to my simple fill, the first woman started trying to shape them. I asked her to make them not so thick and she wasn't understanding so a man, a third person, came over trying to salvage the mess. I've been getting acrylics for 20 years... never have i experienced this. I eventually insisted on paying and going elsewhere because it was that bad. At the end he didn't have me pay, which was the right thing to do, so I went to New Style down the street and they thankfully fixed the hack job that came out of J's. On top of the nail techs clearly not knowing what they're doing at J's, the salon is DISGUSTING. No proper sanitation, it's dirty on the floors, walls, and stations, there are huge cob webs everywhere, wallpaper peeling off the walls. 0/10 do not recommend. Worse than Sunshine in Rhinebeck, which is saying a lot. Also- was overhearing a girl raising concern because they wanted to charge her like $40 to fix ONE nail that had broken. Insane.

Well, next thing I know she's chopped a huge chunk of hair from the back of my head. Not a few inches of hair, but about 8 inches of hair. I suppose I could have jumped up and started screaming but, by then, I realized she had cut such a long strip of hair off there was no choice but to let her finish. I paid for a deep conditioner to help minimize the sun damage but it turned out I didn't need it because all the damaged hair and a whole lot extra was chopped. What's worse, I have very curly hair that takes forever to grow back. I know, because it took me forever to grow it long in the first place. It will take years to grow my hair back to the length it was. She didn't ask me if I wanted short hair. If she had bothered to ask, or pay any attention to what I said - if she had an ounce of respect for me - she would have never considered it. I wasn't going to write this review because I've had two perfectly decent cuts here before. But I was totally disrespected by this stylist that day and I'm completely traumatized. I think other people should know.
