Most of the process…read morewas excellent, but surprisingly, our experience ended on a sour note such that we will not use Pius again and recommend caution to anyone who does. Sophie, the manager at the very nice Pius Tacoma showroom and our only contact in dealing with our project, was very helpful in all aspects of selecting the granite stone. A trip to the Pius warehouse in Seattle 's SoDo neighborhood near Century Link Stadium showed quite an impressive operation as we selected our stone panels. The installers did an amazing job of measurement, stone cutting, and tight fitting installation - but that is when things began to go wrong. Pius has great prices but be forewarned, they only install and are not responsible for anything other than putting the countertops in. You are responsible for tearing out your old countertops and preparing your home with floor coverings to protect from dirt and dust. That's OK as they made it clear that is how they operate. And there is a lot of dust from cutting the countertops in your driveway or front yard that they "try" to clean up "as best they can". Our problem and deep disappointment and let-down was their refusal to address the inadequate final cleaning of the countertops. The installers left a residue of fine dust and a thin film of glue that blemished the luster of the countertops. The head installer did wipe down the countertops with acetone but never changed rags and left a covering of dust and film. We asked him about it as he finished, and he said we "could use Windex for a final cleaning". OUR MISTAKE - We should have insisted right then that he redo his cleaning to remove the dust and film because as we found out after he left, our attempts with Windex did not remove the thin film of glue on the countertops. We emailed Sophie detailed pictures and videos of the blemished countertops along with observations proving this was dust and a film of glue that should have been removed by their installers. And we asked her to send someone to inspect and fully clean the countertops. Additionally, a 3rd party contractor we used to remove the old countertops who is a contractor Pius routinely works with also told Sophie the countertops were not properly cleaned. To all this, Sophie never called to clarify our comments and instead emailed a response that what we were seeing were "normal stone defects" they could not take out. Her comment was totally false! We researched cleaning products and to our great relief, we were able to clean the dust and film from the countertops to our full satisfaction. However, the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and owning up for something they were responsible to handle soured us from doing further business we were planning to do in remodeling our kitchen. We will never use Pius Kitchen and Bath again and don't care how good their prices might be. If you still decide to use Pius, be sure to observe and carefully inspect the final cleaning and insist the installers fully clean your new countertops to the same luster you see in their showroom.

They are also updating all plumbing pipes and electrical wiring. The Reier people also supervised the instillation of new windows and a new heating system. Really, this was a huge make over that took about 3 months. I have worked with a great many contractors and construction people over the course of owing six homes throughout my life. I honestly can say that Tom Reier is the most competent, honest and fair workman I have ever dealt with. His bid was far more detailed than I have been accustomed to, and he had it for me within a week. He touched base with me on a weekly basis and I always knew what was going on. I had to call Tom a couple of times with small concerns (he gave me his personal cell number). If he was not available he always called me back within 30 minutes, usually less, even on non-work days. Also, my neighbors were all sent a letter with information of how to contact Tom if they noticed a problem during my remodel. Tom has not missed any deadlines due to his planning ability and his constant supervision. Tom, his office staff at Reier Construction, and his work crews are excellent people to deal with. They are skilled, honest, and have a respectful and cooperative attitude. Reier Construction has my highest recommendation. Judy B Tacoma, WA January 2016

I will be recommending I & E tile Services to all my friends! I wanted to find a great tiler…read morebecause I had a lot of tile work that needed to be done on our remodel and some of the tile had uneven edges and the kitchen tile had different shapes, so I needed someone who knew how to tile more than just basic tile. I asked an employee of the tile store if she knew of a great tile person and she immediately recommended Ivan. In fact, she told me that he was about to start a project on her house, so she really meant it. I called Ivan and he responded quickly. I immediately sensed that he knew what he was talking about and took great pride in his work which was important to me. Ivan and Sergei, who is also absolutely experienced and incredible, could not have done a better job! The tile was layed out perfectly, the grout lines are perfect and they cut the tiles so the pattern looks amazing throughout. Check out the photo I attached of the corner wall in my kitchen. The large fireplace really needed people with extensive expertise because it turned out that unbeknownst to me, those tiles also were not exactly even. Before this project, I hadn't realized that a lot of tiles aren't the same exact size even if you think they are, so you need someone who really knows how to handle that. Ivan and Sergei spent a lot of time with a laser light pointer to make sure everything lined up perfectly and the end result is fantastic! The fireplace with the little tiles was also challenging because the little tiles kept coming off the mesh backing they came on. Ivan figured out how to make them stick on their backing prior to applying them and the end result is perfect. They also did our bathroom for us including a glass shower nook and that too, came out perfect. In addition to all that, everyone at I & E is extremely professional, timely, great at communicating and friendly. They take great pride in their work and it shows. I'm very grateful for the amazing job they did. You won't be sorry if you hire them!

Another FAHW horror story. Assigned David Singleton & Pipetech Inc for two home warranty claims…read more First was a drywall repair that electrician couldn't complete. 3/16/26. Second was a leak in a shower pipe in the wall that showed up as a drip through bathroom ceiling on the floor below. 3/20/26. Based on all these bad reviews I made contact with him immediately and was told that Chris would call me. So, Chris never, ever called me. I sent countless messages via text and email and got very few responses, many of them incoherent. They finally scheduled us as I was told by First American, for Saturday 3/28/26 (today) 2-4 pm. I again sent confirmation messages both text and email that were not returned, or I got a vague "we will call or text you". My last text was at 9 pm last night where I simply told him I expected someone at my house in the designated timeframe. At 11:40 pm I received an incoherent text. At 8:15 the next morning (today) I received a long text saying his plumber had a family emergency and he had called FAHW to get us reassigned. This saga has gone on for 12 days with this sort of behavior. Keep in mind we had to turn off the water to the house due to the leak 8 days ago and Pipetech knew it. FAHW finally gave me clearance to find my own plumber and get reimbursed (with absurd initial stipulations that hopefully can be changed via paperwork). This morning I called SW Plumbing and they will come out today. I've had two updates from them already on timing. If I could give zero stars for Pipetech, I would. I did verify with Dept of L&I that David Singleton is a current licensed plumber... so I'm not sure why he isn't doing work himself? Either way, I will never, ever, do business with these people.
