We had four bathroom granite countertops installed by Pius Kitchen and Bath. Most of the process…read morewas excellent, but surprisingly, our experience ended on a sour note such that we will not use Pius again and recommend caution to anyone who does. Sophie, the manager at the very nice Pius Tacoma showroom and our only contact in dealing with our project, was very helpful in all aspects of selecting the granite stone. A trip to the Pius warehouse in Seattle 's SoDo neighborhood near Century Link Stadium showed quite an impressive operation as we selected our stone panels. The installers did an amazing job of measurement, stone cutting, and tight fitting installation - but that is when things began to go wrong. Pius has great prices but be forewarned, they only install and are not responsible for anything other than putting the countertops in. You are responsible for tearing out your old countertops and preparing your home with floor coverings to protect from dirt and dust. That's OK as they made it clear that is how they operate. And there is a lot of dust from cutting the countertops in your driveway or front yard that they "try" to clean up "as best they can". Our problem and deep disappointment and let-down was their refusal to address the inadequate final cleaning of the countertops. The installers left a residue of fine dust and a thin film of glue that blemished the luster of the countertops. The head installer did wipe down the countertops with acetone but never changed rags and left a covering of dust and film. We asked him about it as he finished, and he said we "could use Windex for a final cleaning". OUR MISTAKE - We should have insisted right then that he redo his cleaning to remove the dust and film because as we found out after he left, our attempts with Windex did not remove the thin film of glue on the countertops. We emailed Sophie detailed pictures and videos of the blemished countertops along with observations proving this was dust and a film of glue that should have been removed by their installers. And we asked her to send someone to inspect and fully clean the countertops. Additionally, a 3rd party contractor we used to remove the old countertops who is a contractor Pius routinely works with also told Sophie the countertops were not properly cleaned. To all this, Sophie never called to clarify our comments and instead emailed a response that what we were seeing were "normal stone defects" they could not take out. Her comment was totally false! We researched cleaning products and to our great relief, we were able to clean the dust and film from the countertops to our full satisfaction. However, the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and owning up for something they were responsible to handle soured us from doing further business we were planning to do in remodeling our kitchen. We will never use Pius Kitchen and Bath again and don't care how good their prices might be. If you still decide to use Pius, be sure to observe and carefully inspect the final cleaning and insist the installers fully clean your new countertops to the same luster you see in their showroom.

Leslie told me that she charges a flat fee for the design independent of other sales and services she provides. Furthermore, if we purchased cabinets from her then half of the design fee would be refunded. This seemed fair. She came out to our home to look at the space. This took place during escrow and I was there with the real estate agent. I went upstairs while she was in the kitchen taking measurements and when I came back down she was gone. It was a little weird that she left without saying goodbye or letting me know she was leaving. When I met with her at her office she seemed very concerned that we purchase our cabinets through her, and she did not seem very enthusiastic about our project (which is a large, high-end kitchen). She assured me that she wanted to do the project. Although she had told me that we did not have to buy the cabinets from her in order for her to do the design, she'd prefer that we did. We had no reason not to, but I also did not want to be forced to do so, especially before we had a design. When she gave me the contract it stated that we had to buy cabinets from her. I reminded her that this is not what she had told me, so she agreed to cross that off the contract, and I signed it and paid her. Two weeks later right before we were supposed to meet to go over the design she sent me an email saying that she decided she was not going to do the project because she was worried that we would not buy the cabinets from her. So we lost several weeks of time and had to start over with another company. I am not giving one star because she's probably a good designer, but she was very unprofessional in how she dealt with us.

The installation took two days with amazing results! The guys were courteous and extremely hard-working. There was a lot of linear square footage with intricate corners to deal with. The results are perfect. We are very happy with High Cascade Homes and would recommend to anyone. Hopefully they will be doing our roof in the spring

He took the time to explain what I should look for in installation. He explained the pros and cons of the types of roofing. His measurements were accurate. We got estimates ranging in difference from four squares on the roof and six squares on the siding. When the materials came and were installed, there was only a small amount left that aligned with squares and a margin for error. Some contractors tried to state that contractors can overrun by up to 30% cost without permission. We were assured estimate was accurate and told where unforeseen costs might be. We did run into a major water damage issue on the siding. The issue was clear (could put finger through the backing material with no pressure) and the change to the bid was what was quoted to replace with plywood should an issue arise. LNI reports showed clear on license and inspections which was not the case with all bids. Scheduling: The dates and times for scheduling were accurate. Project started when projected and ended when projected. Installation: The crews assigned were fabulous. Prior to the construction, Raphael notified neighbors and provided contact information in case of any issues. The crews obviously have worked together long term and were friendly and accommodating. For the siding, each night was cleaned well, and it was a worksite, so setup stayed. The setup was as unobtrusive and minimal as possible. Materials were protected. Over a weekend predicted rain, plywood needed was protected with wrap to ensure it stayed dry. For roofing, the cleanup was meticulous, and nothing on the ground would suggest a tear off, or work was happening. Cleanup on both projects was thorough enough nightly to allow us to use the driveway and garage without fear of picking up a nail. Materials were high quality, and with supply chain issues, there were no low end substitutions. Finishing was thorough and on point. The cords, connections, and house numbers were put back in place. I didn't like our previous house numbers and purchased some. I had to work so I left them on the porch. They were installed beautifully. If you're looking at interior or exterior work I highly recommend High Cascade homes.

5 stars isn't enough. I'll start with the basics: 1. Studio Home is a multi-level, one-stop-shop…read morefor every major home project you're looking to do; flooring, cabinets, countertops, the accessories that go with them (handles, backsplashes, etc.). 2. This is a showroom that houses a very large and diverse selection of manufacturer products. Prices range low to high and are comparable to the local market/other showrooms in the area (as in, like 6, at least.. I've been to all of em'..@_@). 3. They don't carry poor quality items; things you might find at a Wal-Mart or big box store. *A plus* If your budget is more conservative, you're still going to get great products. 4. If you need cabinetry, sky's the limit. Everything is customizable from the size of the cabinets, door design, color, material, paint, stain, inner upgrades like shelving, etc. And if you have a blank canvas or need help designing your space, they will come out, take measurements, and design a custom template(s) for you. Yes, there is a small fee for that -but- if you already have a design in mind or have taken your own measurements, let em' know and you'll probably have the fee waived, provided you have enough 'idea' on paper. :-) OKAY, end of novel 1. Here's why you want to use Studio Home for every and any project you're getting into: 1. The women. Sorry if there are any men working there now, I'm sure you're just as awesome BUT MY GIRLS! Is customer service important to you? Do you want to meet deadlines for your project? Do you want to work with personable, intelligent, and straight-forward individuals? Do you have a budget? Do you not have a budget? Do you want options? Do you need direction? Do you want genuine smiles and a "please let us know if you need anything or have any questions, seriously, we're here to help."? Studio Home was my 4th stop in scoping out places to use for my home remodel. I was impressed with the amount of products they housed but the level of service and expertise Carrie and Kayla showed on my first visit left me feeling relieved that there was a place I might be able to tackle every project on my list while getting help from friendly professionals along the way. Two stops later, I came back to Studio Home and started designing my remodel. Eventually, Cecilia came on board and even though new to the company, she quickly learned my name and my project. I am BEYOND satisfied with Studio Home and the remarkable team that work there. You really cannot go wrong by making them a part of your home.
