The service is consistent and the food keeps getting better. This is a real chill location in downtown Kalamazoo. No bells or whistles just good food and good service. I have been eating here for years. The vegan options keep expanding. Loving it!

A Hole in the Wall in all the best ways. This place very much feels like a small town cafe. In addition it has a pinch of WMU flair. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger ($11.63). The burger is stuffed with BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese, topped off with more BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese and bacon. I made a substitution of Chipotle Bbq sauce instead of regular. This may have been the best burger I've ever had. Absolutely Top 5. Maybe not the largest burger, but it's mighty tasty. The fries were also very good and crunchy. The service was excellent and everyone was super friendly. Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely! That burger was amazing. They have some very unique stuffed burgers, including a Blueberry Burger. I don't live close, but I will be back.

LOVED my burger. Super friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is a little small on the inside but don't let that deter you as they are very fast an. Would definitely stop by here again for a bite to eat. Also recommend their Serrano in house hot sauce!

I've had Studio Grill on my list of places to try in Kalamazoo for quite awhile, so I was excited to stop in recently while in town. The menu is large and includes breakfast favorites, lunch items, and a vegetarian/vegan menu. They're known for their stuffed burgers, but it was pretty early on a Sunday and breakfast is my favorite meal. I ordered the Studio omelette (Bacon, Swiss cheese, sautéed onion, green pepper and tomato) with a side of their homemade serrano pepper sauce. Our food came out pretty quickly and everything looked good. At first I thought the portions seemed kind of small, but after I ate everything, I was completely stuffed! The omelette was nicely cooked with no browning, which I really appreciate. I'm not a huge omelette person so it was nice to get one that was closer to a French omelette rather than a big fluffy omelette you usually would see at a chain spot. The potatoes were quite tasty, which was also great because I find they can be hit or miss. I'm super glad I ordered the side of the serrano sauce - it added a big hit of spice to everything. The heat isn't overbearing but it definitely builds. I actually ended up buying a jar of it to give to my brother as a gift. Our server was polite and quick with refills, and I appreciated seeing the owner (or at least I assume it was the owner) out there helping serve and bus tables as well. At the cash register I saw some treats from 13 Cookies that I'd overheard someone talking about so I picked up a few of those - they were delicious! I'm definitely keeping an eye out for them next time I'm in the area. Nice little breakfast/lunch spot with vegetarian options and something for everyone. The space isn't huge so there is likely a wait during peak times, but I'd go back.

This is a good neighborhood restaurant. Nothing too fancy. Friendly workers. FYI The menu picture is pretty old so it is probably not accurate!

A small local restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. it's open seven days a week from 7 AM until 2:30 PM (no dinners). They have a great selection of omelettes and other breakfast food, which is available all day, including very interesting cinnamon roll and blueberry muffin pancakes. They also do very nice salads and a great selection of unique hamburgers and serve their homemade raspberry and strawberry jam. I stayed in Kalamazoo all of last week, eating lunch there every day, and was never disappointed. I had five different omelettes (the Painter's Sink was my favorite - think loaded with everything), and the sausage hash was also excellent (they feature unique combinations such as chorizo hash). The staff is very friendly and the owner is very attentive, having stopped by the table every day we were there to make sure everything was satisfactory. I have to go back for a couple of days at the end of this week, and will absolutely be eating lunch there both days!

Hands down the best burgers in town! Stuffed burgers are their thing and you'll want to come hungry! The burgers are fresh, made to order, stuffed with whatever goodies they've thought up on their menu. The berry delicious burger was mouth watering. Literally!! I was so full but now way was I leaving any amount of that burger on my plate! The sweet potato fries were crispy and hot. Nothing about my meal was bad! I've been many times and always had a great experience!

Amazing place. I lived in Kalamazoo for 10 years, yet never stopped in here since I worked in Portage. Breakfast was creative, a sweet/savory hash with eggs. Charming server. Owner made the rounds and chatted with every table. Looks like a great choice for lunch too.

Awesome breakfast food! Fast friendly service. I had a create your own omelet with mushrooms and cheddar, a side of bacon and an English muffin. They had homemade jelly that was excellent. My wife had the sausage hash with eggs added. She really enjoyed her meal and she's not a morning eater! The manager even walked over to check on our meal. Wonderful.

Ask the Community - Studio Grill

Is breakfast served all day or does it stop at a certain time?

We serve our breakfast and lunch all day long.

Are there table servers, or is this a place where you order at a counter and fetch your food from the counter?

    We are full service

    Are there vegan options?

There are indeed vegan options. The soy Chorizo Farm House Hash is good, but the vegan pancakes are the BEST thing they serve - better than non-vegan options.

There are booths as well, if that is your preference. Our waitress was friendly, prompt and efficient. We couldn't have asked for more. We were seated right away and got our food almost as fast. Time was not an issue. The food! The waffles with chicken were delicious. It was like dessert the whole time. It comes with cinnamon butter on it and some syrup, which I didn't use as the butter was sweet enough. The chicken was good but could have been just a hair bigger. That being said, I was full when done. The eggs Benedict was good with the corned beef being shredded instead of canned. All the food was delicious. It will run you a bit more than some other breakfast joints, but worth it on occasions. Our two entries with a 22% tip was just over $40. We will be back to an Anna's House in the future.

Prices were fair. We were considering the goat meat and were offered a generous enough sample for the 4 of us to try. The food was good though I was disappointed by the canned (rather than fresh) mushrooms in my quesadilla. What a super cute and delicious spot!!…read more We stumbled upon Dani's Kitchen while looking for some brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I had not noticed Dani's before so I'm so glad Yelp helped us out!! We wouldn't have thought to stop here but WHAT A GEM! Mexican for breakfast??? Yes please!! Dani's has many traditional breakfast options like pancakes/waffles, egg, breakfast meat combos, etc... but then they have a huge assortment of Mexican inspired dishes! Some that aren't breakfasty at all, others with eggs that are! The options are plentiful! We will definitely be back to try more of their menu items!! On this visit we had the "chorizo and egg" dish that comes with potatoes and refried beans. Also the "Huevos rancheros" which was crispy tostadas with eggs (runny yolk for the win!) topped with ranchero sauce, crumbly queso fresco cheese, with a side potatoes and refried beans, also 3 delicious, homemade corn tortillas! We also ordered the breakfast burrito combo, choosing egg and chorizo for the filling - this dish came with chips and queso. Everything was so good, to the very last bite!! A couple of notes: EVERYTHING had exceptional flavor and was super fresh - but the extra items were the corn tortillas and refried beans. I do not normally order corn tortillas but these were SO VERY GOOD! Most definitely homemade and it shows!! They had a thicker texture and held together really well! The beans also tasted very authentic and exceptionally delicious, even at breakfast!! The service was top notch! We walked in minutes before 2 because Yelped noted the closing time as 3pm. The door said they closed at 2 but they welcomed us in anyway saying they wanted to take care of us! So sweet!! Our waitress was so kind and helpful the entire meal, very attentive! The place was clean and well kept! All around, truly a 5 stars experience!! Check them out - I don't think you'll leave disappointed!!

600 is such a cute place for a lovely meal!…read more We have been multiple times but stopped in on a recent sunny afternoon for some lunch. 600 is so light and airy, we really love the atmosphere!! We had a really great waitress, I wish I would have gotten her name! She was doing the job of hostess and waitress to multiple tables, and doing it all very well! We ordered a chicken sandwich and a salad for our lunch entrees! Both were very good and presented very well! While the food is good and quality feels high - the price is also on the high side. For a sandwich and a salad, waters to drink, we spent over $50 for our lunch! Just something to be aware of! While we had time - the experience was not fast. Something to be aware of if needing a quick lunch. The restaurant was not overly busy but the wait was a little long to receive our order. I ordered a salmon salad - the menu nor the website specify if the salmon is wild caught or farmed. After all that a 23% tip was automatically applied!! Wow! Too much under the circumstances. The place is nice with a nice atmosphere and clean. The bathrooms are clean although it ran out of paper. We may try it again but with a different waiter. One more thing... burritos should not be served with toast. Fries or hash browns are a better choice.

Our dinner stretched out over a nearly 3 hour time period, but felt like it flew by at the same time! Never rushed, but intentional and SO enjoyed!! Our waiter was fabulous and made sure that our every need (and want!) was met. He went over and above for us and we loved every moment!! I wish I had gotten his name to mention here! We started our evening browsing the cocktail menu. The offerings are vast! We ordered two different kinds of old fashioned options, always a favorite! One had very unique twist and arrived on fire/smoking! The drink continued to have a smoke effect, but this did not highly alter the flavor! It was delicious and fun! "It adds drama" is how our waiter put it, and he was right! :) It was called "Fire House No. 4". Next we perused the appetizer section. The choices were excellent and we landed on the meatballs, going off of recommendations and previous experience! For meatballs, they were indeed quite delicious but if I'm being completely honest I don't think I'd choose them again. I would venture out a little more. The scallops came highly recommended by our waiter. Also highly recommended was the steak tartare! After our appetizer we ordered a wedge salad. This was wonderful! It mimics what you'd traditionally expect from a wedge salad - this one served with multiple small wedges of iceberg lettuce - but the toppings elevate so nicely! Bleu cheese, the most delicious marinated tomatoes, pickled red onions, and the best, most flavorful chunks of bacon! This was a favorite!! It was finally time to decide on entrees. This was tough! There are many choices I'd like to try and we will definitely be back to try some more. Because this was a special meal and we had heard very good things, both of us ordered the ribeye steak. This is a large piece of meat that arrived with mouthwatering presentation. While the flavors were most definitely evident of a quality piece of meat, I would personally not choose this exact entree again. The meat was well cooked, and done to my requested level, but arrived not very warm. I like my food hot and while I acknowledge that a fine steak presentation likely requires a rest time, my own opinion is put off when I feel like my food is in any way on the cold side. I did not complain about this - and it doesn't affect my rating, but it is worth noting and something I'd like to know when making a decision for ordering! Other entrees that I saw coming out around me that I am SO very interested in trying on a future visit were the fried chicken (WOW! The presentation on this dish is NEXT level!) and the salmon! Everything I saw coming to nearby tables looked quite stunning and I'd quite honestly like to try each dish from their menu! ;) This place is quality, it is very evident! We paired our dinner entree with two side items. The side items are large, intended to serve multiple people. We chose the crispy fingerling potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. Both were perfection! We loved them! The Brussels sprouts had SO much flavor! Even the leftovers the next day were so delectable! We finished our meal with the most exceptional dessert! It was a hard decision but we chose the Chocolate Hazelnut Flourless Torte! AMAZING! It was served with an orange creamsicle ice cream which sounds like a strange accompaniment for these flavors but it fit so very well with the dish. The hazelnut crémeux on the side was also exceptional - just a really great dessert, all around! Alongside our dessert we ordered an elevated espresso that was absolute perfection! One of THE best dessert cocktail beverages I have ever had! I highly recommend this either as your dessert or as an accompaniment! So, so good! Even though there were a couple of things during this meal that I personally would not choose to order again, everything was still superb! I can't choose any less than five very deserved stars!! This was such a great experience at a very fine, local, Kalamazoo restaurant!! Be prepared to spend some five star dollar amounts, but also be prepared to receive a five star, not just meal, but entire experience!! ;)
