Huevos Rancheros - SO GOOD!!
Jess C.

What a super cute and delicious spot!! We stumbled upon Dani's Kitchen while looking for some brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I had not noticed Dani's before so I'm so glad Yelp helped us out!! We wouldn't have thought to stop here but WHAT A GEM! Mexican for breakfast??? Yes please!! Dani's has many traditional breakfast options like pancakes/waffles, egg, breakfast meat combos, etc... but then they have a huge assortment of Mexican inspired dishes! Some that aren't breakfasty at all, others with eggs that are! The options are plentiful! We will definitely be back to try more of their menu items!! On this visit we had the "chorizo and egg" dish that comes with potatoes and refried beans. Also the "Huevos rancheros" which was crispy tostadas with eggs (runny yolk for the win!) topped with ranchero sauce, crumbly queso fresco cheese, with a side potatoes and refried beans, also 3 delicious, homemade corn tortillas! We also ordered the breakfast burrito combo, choosing egg and chorizo for the filling - this dish came with chips and queso. Everything was so good, to the very last bite!! A couple of notes: EVERYTHING had exceptional flavor and was super fresh - but the extra items were the corn tortillas and refried beans. I do not normally order corn tortillas but these were SO VERY GOOD! Most definitely homemade and it shows!! They had a thicker texture and held together really well! The beans also tasted very authentic and exceptionally delicious, even at breakfast!! The service was top notch! We walked in minutes before 2 because Yelped noted the closing time as 3pm. The door said they closed at 2 but they welcomed us in anyway saying they wanted to take care of us! So sweet!! Our waitress was so kind and helpful the entire meal, very attentive! The place was clean and well kept! All around, truly a 5 stars experience!! Check them out - I don't think you'll leave disappointed!!

I love this place. I've never had anything bad, always delicious. Service is also wonderful and quick. I love the chorizo and egg tacos! Pancakes are also good.

Upon arrival: this establishment has been several Mexican food places in the past so we weren't sure what to expect when we walked in. They've gone to great lengths to give it a new look (breakfast place plus Mexican food place) and it looks really great! Our server was very sweet and accommodating. The food was really nice, too! I ordered the crepes and subbed my bacon for their chicken sausage, which was excellent. Husband ordered their barbacoa breakfast plate, which he enjoyed. Very comfy surroundings with a steady influx of patrons. We will be back!

Med well Steak and eggs

The experience was unpleasant, ordered Steak Medium photo below for reference. Attempted to give it a try and the steak was rather atrocious not only was it tasteless, it was over cooked as well. Informed the waiter the steak is not how I ordered it, she expressed her dissension of how the steak was cooked medium after briefly taking a glance at it, acknowledged it and proceeded to walk away. Noticeably did NOT eat my steak, to my horror cost was $18.99 plus trying to charge $5 for a cup of fruit and then attempted to charge me for pico and it did not even come with it, was a bit much in my opinion. Overall experience and ambiance of Restaurant was appealing due to other reviews however appearances can often be deceptive. If I could rate it Zero Stars I would. Do Not Recommend.

The food and service were great, I didn't even know they were here, I met some friends who told me about it and I wasn't disappointed, now I need to bring my husband and son. The ambiance is definitely nice and quiet. I'll be back. The prices are reasonable and comparable with other restaurants.

Chilaquiles rojos and eggs

This place is nicely decorated with both Mexican craftsmanship and typical American quotes. Quality of food is good. My huevos rancheros were delicious, Service was also good, no concerns the only thing we had is that the chilaquiles had barely sour cream on top. My wife asked for some and they charged $1.75+tax. My wife was livid, so she deducted it from the tip .

Went yesterday for the first time and will be going there again and again and again! We went at 11:30 AM and most of us had breakfast dishes. Food came out fast, was delicious, fresh, and abundant! Amazing service and great prices!! Ambiance was good too, a bit loud at first, but that's all a sign that people are having a good time and enjoying their meals!

This spot is amazing. Compared to berries it outclasses them in every way. Spend your money here.

I go out to breakfast frequently with my parents and I wanted to try something new, so I suggested…read morewe go to East Egg. We walked in the door and my parents were thrilled when they saw Alicia, who I learned was their favorite waitress from East Egg in Portage. We seated ourselves, and the interior was clean and I liked the decor. The food and service were absolutely amazing! Today was "free bacon Friday" so bacon was added to all of our orders for free. I had a bacon, egg and cheese omelette that came with hash browns and toast or pancake, and I added a side of grits. I had asked for grape jelly for my toast and Alicia brought the grape jelly, but she also brought me some strawberry jelly she wanted me to try because it was homemade. It was really good! Tami, the owner, came over and talked with us after we had finished eating. When she found out that I liked biscuits and gravy she told me that theirs was homemade, and she gave me some to take home so I could try it. I could not believe how friendly Alicia was, and then to talk with the owner who was extremely friendly as well...I'm just mad that we did not come here before today. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and for the service. I will be back.

This is a new place that we have never noticed before. I believe this building used to house Theo and Stacey's and then Berries. The service was attentive and kind here, however our meals left us with a less than stellar opinion and a lack of desire to return. I can see from another reviews here that the owner says the food is mostly "house-made". I am not certain if this phrasing means the same thing as homemade, but none of our meals tasted at all homemade. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with the added option of eggs and potatoes for an extra $3. Nothing on my plate tasted homemade to my palate. The biscuits were not warm and tasted like a premade item, not like a fresh biscuit, at all. The gravy definitely had a canned taste and appearance - not flavorful or very warm. The eggs were fine, cooked to order. The breakfast potatoes did not look fresh cut and were undercooked and not seasoned as our waitress described. They definitely had a premade appearance. I have ordered biscuits and gravy all over this town, I'm not a rookie in this field. ;) My son ordered a Benedict. It was very basic, as expected, but with a bland, cold sauce. My husband ordered an omelet with the breakfast potatoes and toast. If you order sourdough toast it only comes with one piece, which is fine, but it's not true sourdough from a fermented starter. It appeared to be regular, thin bread from a packaged, pre-made loaf. He also commented that the potatoes appear to be out of a frozen bag, not a homemade appearance, taste, or flavor. The omelet was bland but they do provide salt and pepper as well as one hot sauce choice to flavor things up a bit. The coffee was very diner-esque. Lacking in flavor and strength. However our waitress kept our cups full and warm! There were a couple of larger groups present which kept the atmosphere quite loud during our visit. However the restaurant is cute and has quite a few tables to hold a good sized amount of patrons at once. With a tip our total for 3 breakfast entrees and two coffees was just shy of $60. I know that prices are on the higher side these days, but this was extremely disappointing for the food that we were served. There are so many wonderful breakfast restaurants in our area - another choice might benefit both the tastebuds and wallet! I try to be kind but honest in my reviews here, two stars is generous.
