Yum! We ordered through their website for lunch for three of us, knowing we would have leftovers. Their chimichanga (my fav!), empanada (crunchy and delish), chicken tamale, my first ever torta (huge!!!), rice and beans (yum yum yum), horchata (so flavorful), yes! We had to add in the cheese sauce that's like a mild white that tastes better and better the more you eat and the platano Fritos (cinnamon chocolate sauce? Um, yeah!). Hubs wanted the Chile rellano and tamale combo, but when they got there to pick up found out they were out of rellano I was bummed they didn't call us to fix the order before they got there. Traveling thru Kalamazoo and had a hankering for Mexican food. Bueno Provecho was near where we were staying, so we gave it a go. Food took a bit to arrive, but that appears to be because it's truly made to order, even the choriqueso. We had that, tamales and a house special Alhambra, and all were outstanding. This place is MINT. Hot, delicious, flavorful, timely, as well as generous portions. Staff was friendly & attentive. What more can you ask for? Our party had the buen provecho appetizer and the empanadas were delish. Dinners included chimichangas (steak) which were the hit across the whole group. I'm not familiar with this area at all but my boyfriend and I were in town and needed some food. Buen Provecho was on our radar, but we only went because the burger place down the street was closed. I'm so glad we stopped here! It looks like they opened in January of 2021 so I hope they do well. The menu includes many specialty items that I don't often see at Mexican places, like sopes, gorditas, huaraches, and empanadas. The menu is large and they even serve breakfast items. Our server was very kind and polite. I ordered the enchilada dinner, which comes with three enchiladas, either chicken or cheese, rice and beans, as well as a side of additional meat, either chicken or steak. I'd never seen that before. My boyfriend ordered a chimichanga and his siblings got tacos. Everything came out super hot and fresh! I did have to wait a bit for my food but I was happy eating the complimentary chips and salsa. The enchiladas were very tasty! I love the corn tortillas in the red sauce. The steak on the side was tender and flavorful, and the chicken in the enchiladas wasn't dry. The rice and beans were typical. They don't serve alcohol but they do have horchata and soft drinks. I was happy to see that they were doing quite a bit of takeout while we dined in. There was only one other party in the dining area and tables were spaced out decently. Masks are required while not at your table. Never been here (yelp) until now, never wrote a review and DON'T really want this considered as a review. We ate there tonight mainly because of the half price tacos for Monday (yeah not exactly sure why it isn't on Tuesday either), we each had 5, it was a darn good meal as always. BUT when we went to pay the bill it was added up by the single taco price then multiplied by the number we ate before being half off wth? Is this normal, am I missing something? I'm here more trying to get that answered than I am trying to drag them through the mud, which is why I'm asking here rather than hitting up Facebook. Right when we parked there was 2 men finishing painting parking spots but one of them stopped to open the door for me and my boyfriend and took our order inside. He was so kind and the restaurant was calm. The food was so good, I moved to michigan 2 years ago and this is by far the best mexican food I have had here. We had stopped by earlier that morning because the restaurant said it served breakfast and that it was open at 7 am. But the restaurant stayed dark for the 30 minutes we waited. We should have taken that as an omen. But we were in the area again later that day. The restaurant was open and there was a single customer eating a wet burrito. First, upon walking in, the server didn't acknowledge us even though we said "hello" to him. My girl said she felt as if we were intruding. She remarked that she would anticipated staff being more welcoming considering this was a restaurant new to the area. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks were fine (water, diet cola) but the complimentary chips and salsa were pretty poor. The chips tasted stale and the salsa was mostly canned tomato sauce. My girl has two appetizers, a flauta and a tostada, both with chicken. Both were tasteless. My girl, picking out the chicken from the appetizers, said it was sufficiently cooked (no pink). But, she said if she tasted the protein with her eyes closed, she would have not known what it was. It was completely unseasoned. I ordered the Quesadilla with potato and chorizo. Quesadillas usually contain slices or chunks of a seasoned protein, along with sauteed slices of onions as well as green & red bell peppers and (often) jalapeno peppers. Inside the tortilla I was served was just a paste of tiny cubed potatoes and a dark mystery meat. It reminded me of the contents of canned corned beef. And though chorizo is a sausage that can taste spicy or smoky, the mystery meat I tasted had zero flavor. The server had two customers enter as we were eating. He spent a lot of time sitting behind the counter staring off. We asked for our bill several times and the request seemed ignored by him. My girl, who prefers to let me do the interacting with restaurant staff, grew irritated by the server's malaise and spoke to him sharply about the tab. The bathrooms were clean. The cook wore no mask; the server wore his under his nose so it just covered his mouth. Wow. One of the worst meals ever. read more

Tonight was a good night. As you can imagine, I'm usually the one in our house to pick out new taco joints to try. So, when my love told me we were hitting a new place and refused to give me details, I was... uncomfortable, but excited. Welcome, Buen Provecho! This great little eatery bravely opened in January of 2021, and boy has this area been missing a place like this. We dined in, which just feels like a luxury anymore. The salsa was chunky and fresh, chile came in a not-too-spicy roja and a thick and tangy verde, asada was well seasoned, chicken tinga tasty, chorizo lean and flavorful, but the highlight - for sure - was their al pastor, complete with chunks of pineapple, on top of a beautiful handmade sopes. Its about time I commented on this here as have been eating periodically at this place since it opened. To this day it is consistantly the cleanest place I have eaten in this county, and the food has never disappointed! The service is awesome, and in good time, for the meal you end up with! It is always the same people there, they have a screen with music videos to watch, and nice (not over done) decor. I've ordered carryout from Buen Provecho at least 6 times over the last two weeks BUT for some reason yelp won't take more than one review in the same week from the same user or something like that. I highly recommend this restaurant. I have not been disappointed yet. There are several menu items you MUST TRY!!! (I will add to this list in a day or so.) #1 The Guacamole Dip (Appetizer) $3.99. It's kind of like a diced guacamole relish kind of dip. It consists of diced guacamole, tomatoes, and onions with some lemon juice and cilantro. The diced pieces are like about 1/8" square. As a disclaimer, I have never been a real fan of guacamole. Historically, every time I've encountered it, it was a rather tasteless green mush like paste. Having Buen Provecho's guacamole dip has COMPLETELY redefined my opinion of guacamole. As with all Buen Provecho's appetizer dips, the amount of chips you receive is GENEROUS. #2 The Cheese Dip (Appetizer) $3.75. This is basically Buen Provecho's signature queso. It's kind of thin, bit it's VERY flavorful. The fact that it's a little thin is a good thing because it takes MANY chips to consume the entire bowl. As with all Buen Provecho's appetizer dips, the amount of chips you receive is GENEROUS. read more

When I saw there was a Mexican restaurant being built within walking distance, I got very excited. I ordered pretty soon into the place opening, and the food was good! The staff is also very nice and fast with service. My personal favorite is the beef chimichanga with extra cheese sauce. Only downside is my food has been dry once or twice, but my positive experiences COMPLETELY outweigh the bad ones. Overall, nice small family own business full of love and good food! read more

I ordered for the first time via their online option. I went to pick it up and saw a sign that said they closed at 5 that day, it was 5:45 when I arrived (ordered around 520ish). Panicked I tried the door anyway and it was open. Went in, they were almost completely closed down. Long story short, they were extremely kind and insisted on making my order. I explained that I've worked in the industry forever and it's okay, they were completely cleaned up I did not want to make them do it twice. I explained I would just like to have my money refunded. Again, they persisted (kindly) and made my order for 3 in no more than 15-20 minutes. And it was delicious! Wanted tacos and thought I'd give this place a try. Ordered chips and salsa, the chips are your standard Mexican restaurant chip, I really wish they were better, because the salsa is amazing! Flavorful and about "medium" spicy, truly one of the best salsas I've ever had. We ordered street tacos and soft tacos, the Only difference is one is made from flour and topped with lettuce, one is corn and tapped with onions and cilantro, small, but extremely flavorful. In my to go bag was also a package of something that I did not order, I think it's Choriqueso based on the menu, chorizo and beans with top fresh cheese, little salty and greasy, I probably would not order it. So disappointed with this place. Been dying to try is for a long time and I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time or money. Super overpriced for what you're getting. $40 for 5 small birria tacos (and you have to pay extra for cheese that they usually come with?) weren't even made in the consume like they're supposed to be. Basically I paid that much for 5 super small street tacos with carnitas and onion and cilantro with a super small side of the consume to dip it in, not to mention the extra $5 for the cheese just for the tacos to not have any cheese.
