    Wet Burrito.
    Sam K.

I do a lot of nonmedical transportation in southern Michigan, and have a time waiting. I was looking for some eats, love Mexican food. Not too far from the hospital, read some of the reviews, had to try. Ordered wet burrito, was about 10 bucks. It was a good portion of burrito, it was fairly saucy, the tortilla was rapped and soft to taste. It had a savory flavor, not too spicy, until I added the hot sauce, which was very spicy. The restaurant had few people in seats, but the kitchen looked busy, with to go orders, seen two people pick up, and looked like three people in kitchen, with a few orders ready to go. My meal was good, love little restaurants with great food.

Chicken and steak tacos . Amazingly delicious

This is the staple place we go whenever we want good service and good Mexican food. We love their portions sizes and their hospitality. We have tried their steak, chicken, fish , mushroom and cactus for their tacos. I like their burritos , quesadillas and quesadillas de maiz. Order some to go as well because their tacos are addicting.

Yes to this big ole' healthy cactus across my carne asada, guacamole, and rice. #NopalesForever

I feel so lucky to work near this place, in all honesty. They have saved me time and time again. I started a new job, in a new area, and had no idea about the food landscape. Of course I yelped to find the best lunch specials in the immediate area, and this place popped up. I've had almost everything on the menu and I love it all. Depending on my mood in the situation, my choices might go a little something like this: You in for a long night and have many mouths to feed (or just one over a night or two) - Pollo Asada: grilled chicken, grilled cactus, grilled onions, avocados, rice, refried beans and corn tortillas. Lunch Bite: - Mexican style Tacos: Al Pastor (marinated pork) is my favorite, but chorizo (spicy pork sausage) is a close second for me. Looking forward to Lent, in particular, to make excuses to order pescado (fish) every Friday. Quick Bite (look ma', one hand): - The Gordita, NOW before moving here I had never had one, but as someone who lives a primarily wheat free life, this fried corn patty stuffed with a choice of MY favorite meat, sour cream and Oaxaca cheese, I mean a great life choice if nothing else. Just a side : - Elotes, I'm not going to tell you what makes a corn on a cob so special, I'm just asking you to trust me and have one. Beverages: - You want something sweet and creamy, Horchata. - You want something sweet ad carbonated, go pluck a Jarrito (soda) they come in various flavors and they all get the job done. If you ever find yourself avoiding traffic to get north of the tracks, are on your way up to all the shopping that can be done up there, or have an appointment at the local health offices, go to where Humphrey and E Main meet and have a bite. They're kind, super timely and always offer the food with huge smiles and great recommendations.

Look closely. Those chips are sitting on Popeye's paper. Why?

This place was awful! I tried this place on recommendation from a friend. I also thought it would be okay since the Yelp reviews are overall positive. The first sign should have been that they were using Popeye's food wrappers for whatever reason. Are these reused? Donated? Stolen? Who knows. My friend got the carne asada plate and I got an al pastor torta with an hongos (mushroom) taco on the side. The Good: The mushroom taco was decent. Nothing you couldn't make at home in a few minutes though. The Bad: The flour tortillas were paper thin and had no flavor. The carne asada was thin, very fatty, and massively over cooked. It was so tough that it was inedible. The pork in the al pastor was also very, very fatty like this. The grilled cactus (on the asada plate) was not good. It was kinda of slimy and had no flavor. To be fair, I've never had cactus before either, so I'm not sure what it's suppose to taste like. The torta was mediocre and it was served on a store bought sandwich bun. I would not return to this place. Even if they were just having an off night with their food, there were enough other things to keep me from wanting to return. Including the: reused food paper, the stale tortilla chips, the disappointing cactus, and the low grade cuts of meat being used (both beef and pork)

    Catcus, fish and mushroom tacos!

We have been the regular customers at this place since the first day that they were opened. It's true! The owners and the waitresses even know us because we are there for too many times. The customer service is superb. Every time we go in there, the owners who are the chefs always greet us with a smile no matter how busy they are. The place is a pretty good size to sit in and eat. The prices are very decent and the food portion size is generous. I always get more than my money's worth. My usual- never -getting- old- orders are--- fish tacos, chicken Gordita, chicken quesadillas, chicken quesadillas demaiz( fried dough with cheese) and finally steak tacos. As for tacos, we can't really speak for the american style since we only get Mexican style which are of onions and cilantro. Oops, I almost forget ! The verde salsa ( green sauce) and the red sauce the signature sauces that make the tacos authentic. If you aren't into hot and spicy (red) sauce, go with the verde salsa and you will not regret it. Tip: If you eat in, they give you chips and salsa for appetizer. Vegetarian options are offered as well.

I simply LOVE this place and have been eating there since before the current owners. Got to know…read morethe previous owners and family ( thus the name La Familia ) but there's a HUGE problem!! I just recently started eating birria tacos and I was OK with it ( tried it at several restaurants before trying it here. But EVERYPLACE else had " soup " for their consome ( am I misspelling it? ) Anyway when I asked the head host about how they make their soup it floored me because I was wondering how I got sick from eating it. But he told me they simply drained the grease from the ground beef and add onions and cilantro then serve it to customers for $2.50 a bowl!! Double whammy, I don't eat ground beef and I DEFINITELY don't eat grease!!!! So the fact that I ordered chicken birria and received a bowl of cooked cow grease it almost sent me to the ER! Not cool! So even though I still eat there I DON'T get their birria and just wanted to let everyone know what they are ACTUALLY being sold. An entire bowl of " Artery clogging GREASE, 'GROSS' " for a WHOPPING $2.50. For something that is supposed to be discarded but it's being sold to unsuspecting customers. I haven't had ANY other complaints about this restaurant and will continue to eat there. Great food and great staff. Just not so great selling bowls of " beef grease " for $2.50. So enjoy the rest just please steer clear of the expensive bowl of " liquid ughh "!! Please for all of your own health!! Have a blessed day!! The star rating is only for this ONE incident. The overall rating is a solid 3.75-4 and if they learn customer service I don't see why they can't reach a respectable rating of 5stars!! Enjoy your day!!

It was not very busy and we got our food almost as fast as you would at any fast food restaurant. I can't say it would be true if it were busy. The staff, one young lady was very friendly and very accommodating. She was great. You order at the counter and she brought out our food. Now to the food. It was delicious. I ended up getting the Grand Burrito (dry). There is a wet version too. It was BIG and heavy! It was filled with rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, onions and some delicious grilled chicken. You can get the chicken cold, but not my thing. I couldn't finish it and I was hungry! Oh the chips were good too. No salsa but they were tasty by themselves. The place is clean and has plenty of seating for 2 to 8 people depending on how busy it is. There appears there might also be outdoor seating as well, would be nice if it wasn't winter. I would come again and maybe try the same again or try one of there many other delicious food. The price for my giant burrito was $12.
