Stubborn seed was a bit of an enigma for me, perhaps because I was swept up in the michelin star rating which set my expectations higher. This was without doubt the most casual starred restaurant I've dined at. Service was fine, but should there be missing place settings and lapses in resetting? Runners who brought food ranged from those who knew the dish perfectly to a few who struggled with the ingredients. Now, let's get real, did this diminish my enjoyment? Absolutely not, but it was a surprise. We're accustomed to much more polished service at home and when visiting Miami. Perhaps the biggest negative is that there wasn't a single course that wowed me. Some were very good, and some that I really didn't enjoy. Again, a matter of taste perhaps, and always a risk with a tasting menu. Following that, as others have said, the restaurant is quite dark. I would have loved to be able to better see some of the dishes brought to me. There is no lighting on the table and the room is very dark. The first course (bread) was very nice, and I enjoyed the creative miso butter that accompanied. In contrast, I had high hope for the Raviolo course, but it had an intensely bitter green (think brocolli rabe bitter), and all of us found it off putting. The main course, duck was the strongest of everything served. I would suggest giving a try to decide for yourself, but this was not one of the stronger dinners we've enjoyed in Miami.

Somewhat underwhelming experience across food and service. Stubborn Seed is located in the heart of south pointe where there are tons of good dining options. The restaurant is dimly lit and has a partially open kitchen. The service is not up to par for the type of experience they are trying to convey. Our waiter seemed to struggle to deliver the memorized description of each dish which can really throw a tasting menu off. For the ravioli dish we asked that the pork not be included. No substitution was made at all for the only protein on the dish which was odd enough without our waiter being so matter of fact about the lack of alternative and gawking at us like it was such a strange question. The food was good but not great. We went with the 9 course menu for $175pp. The highlights were the foie gras (but it is a pâté) and the dessert (which is by the pastry chef and was the saving grace of the meal). Our signature cocktails were very good as well. Besides that I do not have too much to say about the food. The biggest let down was the ravioli which was meant to have a runny egg yolk inside but when we broke it apart it was quite set. Overall lackluster experience and it feels like the passion just is not there - if you are well accustomed to tasting menus I would skip this one.

Wow, wow, wow... how have I not come here sooner?! Stubborn Seed in Miami Beach completely blew me away, and it's crystal clear why they've held a Michelin star three years in a row. It's beyond well deserved. We couldn't get a table and ended up at the bar, but honestly, it didn't take away from the experience at all. Our bartender/server was fantastic, recommending cocktails that were spot-on. I had the melin one and loved it and my friend had the corn and tequila cocktail, which sounded unusual but turned out to be incredible. They started us with a little bread and spread that instantly set the tone for the rest of what was to follow ..it was simple yet unforgettable. From there we had the Red Belgian Endive & Summer Peach Salad which was tarragon green, brown butter croutons, Ford's Farm lang yang with a banana & ginger vinaigrette. Unlike any salad I've ever had. Fresh, layered, and bursting with flavor. We also had the Crunchy Truffle Bravas which was like crispy potatoes with garlic crumbs, aged parmesan, and a squeeze of lime. Absolute perfection. For mains, we tried the beef cheeks which were fall apart tender, rich, and deeply flavorfull and the lamb ravioli. Both unforgettable, both so distinct. Dessert was on another level. The Feta Banana Flan with fig caramel and banana vinegar ice cream and the Guava & Cheese Cheesecake with pineapple and cheese ice cream were equally phenomenal. I still can't decide which I loved more. Every dish was so creative ,fresh, unique, and truly a "wow" moment. The service was equally outstanding. Each plate was brought out and presented with an explanation of the ingredients, many of which come straight from the chef's own farm. Talk about next level dining. Stubborn Seed is an absolute must. Worth every bit of hype and recognition. And we came to find out as well that the chef has six other restaurants as well one . He has a stubborn seed in Vegas , one in plantation and launching and opening a new one in Aruba called Terra!

Parking was surprisingly easy--there's a lot very close by and plenty of street parking. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere, and I loved the open kitchen concept. We went for Miami Spice, and while the starters were just okay, the entrees really stood out--full of flavor and perfectly executed. The dessert was absolutely out of this world, and their cocktails were also delicious. Our waiter, Steven, made the experience even better. He was attentive, friendly, and really on top of everything. Overall, the food and service completely won us over. I definitely want to come back to try their elevated tasting menu!

Eating my way through Miami and Stubborn Seed absolutely stole the crown. One-Michelin-star, farm-to-table cooking from Top Chef Season 13 winner Jeremy Ford, tucked near the southern tip of South Beach. I went with the 6-course tasting (with plenty of surprise extras along the way). The full lineup included: Yellowfin tuna with tomato consommé, French Farms watermelon radish, and kombu citrus granita; Truffle cheddar jalapeño popper with truffle emulsion and winter black truffle; Braised leek & gruyère raviolo with potato espuma; Crispy smoked pork belly with shallot sofrito, egg yolk, and a potato nest; Lime-jalapeño granita palate cleanser; Honey-glazed duck with turnip, pine nuts, Lion Farms mushrooms, sour cherry, and spiced honey; Citrus pavlova with candied pistachio, yuzu curd, olive oil cake, mandarin basil sorbet, and matcha meringue. Standouts for me: The jalapeño popper--piping hot, shatter-crispy, and explosive with black truffle flavor. The raviolo--creamy, cheesy, decadent, and deeply comforting. And the dessert, which I wasn't expecting to love but absolutely crushed it--the chew of the candied pistachios paired with the tart yuzu and mandarin was outstanding. The duck was a new feature that night and, while the flavor pairing with sour cherry worked beautifully, it was tougher to cut and chew than duck usually is. I shared that feedback when directly asked, and the response was textbook Michelin-level hospitality: the chef personally sent out their signature truffle chicken, layered with gravy, potato, and Brussels sprouts over a perfectly sous-vide chicken breast I could slice with a stern look. Incredible. This was my favorite meal in Miami--an exceptional value for the cuisine, service, and care Chef Ford and his team deliver at Stubborn Seed. Highly recommend. @stubborn_seed #StubbornSeed #MichelinStar #MiamiEats #SouthBeachDining #TopChef #JeremyFord #TastingMenu #FarmToTable #FineDining #Foodie #FoodPorn #MiamiFood #ChefDriven #HospitalityDoneRight #WorthIt #BathboyEats

Stubborn Seed has been on my list for years and I finally had the chance to come for their Miami Spice menu and had a wonderful experience. The food, atmosphere and especially service were all outstanding. The Miami Spice menu has 2 choices for each course, so I recommend getting both for each to try. The stand outs were the Beef Cheek and Flan. You could cut the beef with a spoon! We also did the wine pairing, which is a great deal for the amount and caliber of wine you get. Our server was so friendly and attentive, offering complimentary bites and wine top offs. Truly made the night. If you have been wanting to try Stubborn Seed, don't miss out on this great chance to go!

Stubborn Seed was a FANTASTIC dining experience from start to finish. This Michelin star restaurant truly deserves its rating. My friend and I sat at the bar. The restaurant was small and intimate. I loved every single detail from the real plant that was gently placed to secure our dinner napkin to all the dishware and utensils. We ordered and shared the Miami Spice menu which was more than enough food for 2. We were contently full after the entire meal. There were 3 courses per person included in that. We ordered the truffle bravas and peach salad for the first course, the beef cheek and lamb ravioli for the second course, and the flan plus guava/cheese gateau for dessert. With every dish came a unique explosion of multiple flavors in our mouth. The gentlemen that brought the courses to our bar top were extremely knowledgeable and explained each and every dish from start to finish. Everything we ordered was spectacular. The food items were not items you normally saw on a menu. I loved the uniqueness of all the items. Service was on point. Everyone checked in on us every few minutes and all were kind and professional. Again, I have quite an appetite and thought the Miami spice menu was the perfect amount in terms of portion sizing. Wonderful experience!

WOW!!! I was impressed! "Creative" upscale dining like this is typically not my thing, but I was blown away by dinner here. We went for Spice, although two of us do not eat land-based meat and there was only duck and beef as the mains on the Spice menu. We explained that when we were seated and the server offered to substitute the halibut instead for us. Yes, please! Aside from the generous sub, the service was on point! Perfectly attentive and friendly without being overbearing or stuffy! After we ordered, we were brought brioche buns with a savory butter. Delightful! The next little amuse bouche was oysters with a beef tallow foam. The other non-meat eater and myself ceded ours to our dining companions, who enjoyed them very much (pro-tip - they are nestled in a bed of gravel; it is NOT edible!). The starters ordered were the endive salad, the patatas and the sashimi. The endive salad was bright and crisp, with a delightfully umami dressing. I tasted a bite of the sashimi and that was the only disappointment. The fish seemed a bit mealy and tasted quite fishy. I skipped sampling the patatas as they were truffled, something that I do not like! The halibut was a delight! Tender, flaky with a delicate broth and a ripe tomato garnish. The desserts were not overly sweet and of course, presented in a lovely manner, worthy of a Hollywood handshake! I thought the dining room was kind of blah and industrial, but I get that the focus is really on the food, and not the atmosphere. The acoustics were not great either... it was naturally very loud, and nearing the end of our meal, the volume was turned up on the music, adding to the noise. We had brought a good bottle of wine and the corkage was $50. All in all, this meal was quite memorable!

I feel the need to rave about Stubborn Seed because this place absolutely blew me away. I visited during a Miami trip and I'm SO glad I chose this restaurant. I went with the 3-course amuse menu at $85 + tax. For Michelin-starred dining, this is incredibly reasonable. And here's the kicker - they DON'T automatically add that 20% service charge that seems to be standard everywhere else in Miami. They started me off with a soft, delicate roll served with butter shaped like a flower - such a lovely touch. The food quality was excellent throughout. My only critique: the Seared Berkshire Porkchop (my 2nd course) was quite heavy on cinnamon, which wasn't mentioned in the menu description. As someone who's not a cinnamon fan, I would've appreciated the heads up. Service is impeccable: This is what separates Stubborn Seed from every other fine dining spot I've been to. There were one or two gentlemen constantly circulating the dining room, checking on every table. When I mentioned the cinnamon issue to the first staff member, he said "I will make sure the kitchen know". When another gentleman (possibly the manager) asked about my meal, I mentioned the same issue with the overwhelming cinnamon taste and smell, and that it should be noted on the menu. He apologized sincerely, and later surprised me with a small complimentary caviar course. I wasn't expecting anything - just wanted to provide feedback - but this gesture showed they genuinely care about the guest experience. I was celebrating my birthday, and in addition to the dessert from the 3-course menu, they brought out an additional dessert with "Happy Birthday" carved into the plate and a candle on top. It was adorable, and delicious! Such a thoughtful touch! The dessert, which is the 3rd-course, was very beautifully presented and it taste amazing. Even after leaving, I was still thinking about how amazing everything was. This is hands-down the best Michelin-starred restaurant I've ever visited - yes, even compared to two and three-star establishments. The combination of exceptional service, great food, reasonable pricing, and genuine hospitality is unbeatable. If you're in Miami, do NOT skip Stubborn Seed. It's an absolute must, and I'm already planning my return visit!

Another fantastic experience and my second dinner here on NYE. It is very low key on New Year's Eve, not really special event other than handing out hats just before midnight. It's good, however, because it's basically the normal menu with a could additional courses available so they don't jack up the prices sky high like so many other venues. It's possible to get a table without a lot of advanced planning. Naturally, the food and service remain astounding as always.

The space just looks like you're transported to the coast, great vibes, even singing for birthdays you can hear from other tables, a real treat from the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach. The woman that sat us handed my daughter and I menus and said "for the lady", and handed my very pretty but short haired wife a menu and said nothing. An awkward interaction at best. Next our server came and took our orders and served some delicious warm bread with olive oil and vinegar. The food: Salmon dinner: son said the salmon was tender and flavorful and the veggies were tasty. The potatoes arrived a bit cold. Linguini with clams: my order and everyone at the table snagged a few bites. It was very flavorful with a great presentation. A slightly small portion. Cesar salad with chicken: wife's order. Salad was fine but the chicken was dry. Caciao a pepe (I think) table side pasta dish with pasta tossed in a big cheese wheel with burrata cheese and truffles. This dish was $$$$ and expectations were high. Unfortunately the pasta was VERY COLD and the truffle flavor was completely overwhelming. After about ten minutes we finally got our server's attention and he brought the dish back to the kitchen to reheat. I like truffles to the point where I get truffle fries whenever I can, and have a bottle of truffle oil at home that I use regularly, however, this was a pretty intolerable level of truffle flavor. We left with the dish, mostly uneaten. Besides the food, we ordered three Shirley Temples and one glass of Pinot Grigio. Our total bill was around $280. I had high expectations but for the price point we left feeling very disappointed.
