They are all running and gunning here for customers. Nice atmosphere , but tight seating, if you're okay with that. Very nice menu, but typical high end steak house format. I ordered the 14oz NY strip, medium. It was great cut. I had Gorgonzola butter added. They have a nice selection of butters and sauces to choose from. Very nice selection of sides. I had the Scalloped Parmesan Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus. All very nicely done and quite delicious. For dessert, I ordered the warm apple cinnamon crostata! This was probably the best dessert I ever had! Large portion, hot, sweet and heavenly. You've got to try it! Overall, a place you need to try. COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT is an understatement. We chose Prime 112 for New Year's Eve after having wonderful experiences at Prime Italian and Prime Fish the past two years, so our expectations were understandably high. We had an early reservation and were seated promptly, but from that point on the experience went downhill quickly. The hostess was extremely misleading, telling us she would "show us to our table" and asking us to "follow her outside for a moment before heading back in." At no point did she explain that we were actually being taken an entire BLOCK AWAY to a SEPARATE BUILDING used for private events. Had this been communicated honestly, we would never have agreed. Instead, we were blindsided. The off-site space felt like a cheap banquet hall completely devoid of the energy and ambiance the Prime brand is known for--especially unacceptable on New Year's Eve. Despite feeling MISLED and UNDERWHELMED, we felt trapped given the night and the circumstances. To make matters worse, we had clearly requested two high chairs in the reservation notes. Only after ordering drinks, paying for valet, and walking a block to this separate building were we informed that no high chairs were available for our 1- and 2-year-olds. This lack of preparation and communication, combined with the lackluster environment, made what should have been a special evening an outright MISERABLE EXPERIENCE. I came to Miami for business and we decided to go to Prime112 for team dinner. I made a reservation for the 7 of us on a weekday online, it was easy to get a table. We were waiting for a couple of the folks on our team and we sat at the bar and the bartender bought us bacons stripes on the house. That was a first for me, but they were good bacons. After we got seated, our waiter, Kevin, took the time to explain to us the menu and the special. Kevin was funny, attentive and clever! We had such good service by Kevin. Onto the food, even though I was at a steak restaurant, I didn't have steak. I know, but I'm not big on steak and decided to get the sea bass. I loved my seabass, it was rich and delicious! As for sides, we got the mashed sweet potato and that was heavenly too! For appetizers, the tuna poke was on point and was loved by the table. I live a little bit far away from it and I try to make time to go for a special occasions as much as I can for anybody's birthday. Despite the line, we were seated within reasonable time. Downside- they were out of menus and seating was very tight to the point where you felt the heat from dishes passing by. However, the multiple servers that came to the table quickly resolved the issue. I had the watermelon martini- perfectly balanced. The tuna tartare was excellentand perfectly balanced- loved the crisp chips they were served with. Up until we ordered our dinner, we had several different servers coming to our table but Kevin was the most personable! For dinner, we had the 8pm filet mignon, asparagus , and scalloped potatoes. Don't take this place for granted it's been a staple in South Florida since 2004 and delivers excellent food. Our waiter Kyle was fantastic and recommended the Hawaiian poke tuna bowl which is imported from Hawaii daily, by far the best tuna I've ever had in my life wow! I want to update my review. The service was excellent last night. I never got our server's name. He and the assistant waiter always made sure our glasses were full and we had what we needed. The cheese bread is heavenly good. So is that brown piece which is onions. The other one is good as well, just much less flavorful. We ordered the filet medium and that is how it was served. Our server offered to slice it so that is what we received. The steak is high quality, but at the same time lacks flavor. It is $89 just foe the steak, with just that garlic clover with it. The potato pancake was excellent. It was nice and crispy. I was glad to see this because these are not on the menu too often anymore unfortunately. This is served with sour cream and lots of actual sort of baked apple pieces. I did not love those. I wish they were put on the side The baked potato had lots of real bacon pieces. The bacon is real tasty and high quality. I wish they offered cheese and chives. We got sour cream and butter on the side. The potato is soft and well baked. Went to Prime 112 as our South Beach dining spot, wanting a nice fine dining Miami experience. It was extremely busy on a Friday night, but we did make a reservation. The ambiance is dim lighting with really cool architecture. There's even someone guarding the washrooms, which was kinda interesting. The menu is quite extensive, with a wealth of options for both meat and seafood lovers. I had the lobster bisque to start, followed by the dry aged NY strip, medium rare. My group also shared the oysters rockefeller, jumbo lump crab cake, west coast oysters, and escargots. The lobster bisque was excellent. I have to say this was actually worth $27, there were A LOT of lobster pieces, and the portion was huge. In fact after having this I regretted ordering so many appetizers... Speaking of appetizers, the crab cake and west coast oysters were excellent. The oysters rockefeller was fine, a lot more rockefeller than oyster if that's to your liking. The escargots I probably could've done without, there was barely any flavour with the herb and butter. As for the NY strip...it was good. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had though, it was grilled fine but it seemed like the steak quality is down a notch. The peppercorn sauce was an excellent addition to help make up some of the lack of quality. Service was excellent here and we were attended throughout. Had high expectations but was unfortunately let down. First we had a reservation at 8:30 pm, but we could not be seated until our entire party arrived which was fine. We were all there by 8:45 pm at which point the hostess said there was only outdoor seating available. This was frustrating as it was not clarified that our reservation could be indoors or outdoors. Next, when our dishes arrived, the workers who brought them to our table placed them all at the wrong seat. They were quickly frustrated that we said the dishes were wrong and said they are only told numbers, not what the actual dish is. Someone from our group who is Spanish speaking noted they were speaking badly about us in Spanish in front of our faces (talking about how we were asking too many questions and were being demanding). The next issue was they mixed up how the meat was cooked on two of our steaks. One person who requested medium got medium rare and the person who requested medium rare got medium. Another person ordered the lamb and the meat smelled rotten. When the person who accidentally got the medium rare requested the steak be cooked again, the meat came back also smelling rotten. I don't know what's going on with this restaurant but it was overall a poor experience and would not return. I expected much more highly of this restaurant especially regarding the prices. read more

Most of us felt guilty about the waste afterwards because we were staying in a hotel with no facilities for storing or reheating leftovers. For example, the tenderloin came in a 12 oz size. The menu listed one non-alcoholic beer option, which wasn't available. Our waitress was shockingly rude, offered no help with the menu, never checked on our food or water, and didn't bring several items we ordered--without apology. I've been to Prime One Twelve maybe a half-dozen times over the years, but last weekend was the first time I had been since COVID. Here was the saddest part for me--South Beach is totally dead now, so the restaurant's location, even the amount of people inside, felt like it was a scene out of any US airport in those first few months after COVID kicked off. It was strangely dead inside at 10 PM. I intentionally booked my dinner for 10, because when I last went (as well as every other time I've shown up there) it was so packed at 10 PM that we had to wait 30 minutes for our 10 PM table to even open up. I have been to this place and seen legit celebrities, NBA basketball teams after they have finished games against the Heat, local politicians...Prime One Twelve used to be the spot. And even though it is not now (nor is South Beach, so I can't blame the restaurant for that), the meal we had was sensational. This might have been the best meal I've had at P112. Our two steaks were perfect, including a NY strip that was seared just right. The sides were on point, the cocktails were great, and the desserts were almost all great too (the fried oreos work anywhere, and the foot-tall chocolate cake was a little dry but so perfect with the schlag). The brussels, the onion rings, the truffle mac...look, it all worked, and even though our party of four was sitting outside alone for most of our meal time, I still enjoyed myself immensely. I usually gravitate towards the "scene" when I travel because people watching is what Miami does so well. But until I find another steakhouse somewhere in Brickell or Wynwood or whatever neighborhood becomes hot next (we all know the scene shifts in Miami overnight, right?), I may come back to P112 on my next visit. read more
