They are all running and gunning here for customers. Nice atmosphere , but tight seating, if you're okay with that. Very nice menu, but typical high end steak house format. I ordered the 14oz NY strip, medium. It was great cut. I had Gorgonzola butter added. They have a nice selection of butters and sauces to choose from. Very nice selection of sides. I had the Scalloped Parmesan Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus. All very nicely done and quite delicious. For dessert, I ordered the warm apple cinnamon crostata! This was probably the best dessert I ever had! Large portion, hot, sweet and heavenly. You've got to try it! Overall, a place you need to try. I came to Miami for business and we decided to go to Prime112 for team dinner. I made a reservation for the 7 of us on a weekday online, it was easy to get a table. We were waiting for a couple of the folks on our team and we sat at the bar and the bartender bought us bacons stripes on the house. That was a first for me, but they were good bacons. After we got seated, our waiter, Kevin, took the time to explain to us the menu and the special. Kevin was funny, attentive and clever! We had such good service by Kevin. Onto the food, even though I was at a steak restaurant, I didn't have steak. I know, but I'm not big on steak and decided to get the sea bass. I loved my seabass, it was rich and delicious! As for sides, we got the mashed sweet potato and that was heavenly too! For appetizers, the tuna poke was on point and was loved by the table. Don't take this place for granted it's been a staple in South Florida since 2004 and delivers excellent food. Our waiter Kyle was fantastic and recommended the Hawaiian poke tuna bowl which is imported from Hawaii daily, by far the best tuna I've ever had in my life wow! Prime 112 is a staple in south of fifth and the crowd speaks for itself. Even on a Thursday night, the place has a wait and line out the door around 7:30pm. Despite the line, we were seated within reasonable time. Downside- they were out of menus and seating was very tight to the point where you felt the heat from dishes passing by. However, the multiple servers that came to the table quickly resolved the issue. I had the watermelon martini- perfectly balanced. The tuna tartare was excellentand perfectly balanced- loved the crisp chips they were served with. Up until we ordered our dinner, we had several different servers coming to our table but Kevin was the most personable! For dinner, we had the 8pm filet mignon, asparagus , and scalloped potatoes. I want to update my review. The service was excellent last night. I never got our server's name. He and the assistant waiter always made sure our glasses were full and we had what we needed. The cheese bread is heavenly good. So is that brown piece which is onions. The other one is good as well, just much less flavorful. We ordered the filet medium and that is how it was served. Our server offered to slice it so that is what we received. The steak is high quality, but at the same time lacks flavor. It is $89 just foe the steak, with just that garlic clover with it. The potato pancake was excellent. It was nice and crispy. I was glad to see this because these are not on the menu too often anymore unfortunately. This is served with sour cream and lots of actual sort of baked apple pieces. I did not love those. I wish they were put on the side The baked potato had lots of real bacon pieces. The bacon is real tasty and high quality. I wish they offered cheese and chives. We got sour cream and butter on the side. The potato is soft and well baked. Went to Prime 112 as our South Beach dining spot, wanting a nice fine dining Miami experience. It was extremely busy on a Friday night, but we did make a reservation. The ambiance is dim lighting with really cool architecture. There's even someone guarding the washrooms, which was kinda interesting. The menu is quite extensive, with a wealth of options for both meat and seafood lovers. I had the lobster bisque to start, followed by the dry aged NY strip, medium rare. My group also shared the oysters rockefeller, jumbo lump crab cake, west coast oysters, and escargots. The lobster bisque was excellent. I have to say this was actually worth $27, there were A LOT of lobster pieces, and the portion was huge. In fact after having this I regretted ordering so many appetizers... Speaking of appetizers, the crab cake and west coast oysters were excellent. The oysters rockefeller was fine, a lot more rockefeller than oyster if that's to your liking. The escargots I probably could've done without, there was barely any flavour with the herb and butter. As for the NY strip...it was good. I wouldn't say it was the best I've had though, it was grilled fine but it seemed like the steak quality is down a notch. The peppercorn sauce was an excellent addition to help make up some of the lack of quality. Service was excellent here and we were attended throughout. I would say if this was a mid to upper range steakhouse this would be a 4 star review. However given that it's high cost fine dining, I unfortunately have to give it 3 stars. read more

COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT is an understatement. We chose Prime 112 for New Year's Eve after having wonderful experiences at Prime Italian and Prime Fish the past two years, so our expectations were understandably high. We had an early reservation and were seated promptly, but from that point on the experience went downhill quickly. The hostess was extremely misleading, telling us she would "show us to our table" and asking us to "follow her outside for a moment before heading back in." At no point did she explain that we were actually being taken an entire BLOCK AWAY to a SEPARATE BUILDING used for private events. Had this been communicated honestly, we would never have agreed. Instead, we were blindsided. The off-site space felt like a cheap banquet hall completely devoid of the energy and ambiance the Prime brand is known for--especially unacceptable on New Year's Eve. Despite feeling MISLED and UNDERWHELMED, we felt trapped given the night and the circumstances. To make matters worse, we had clearly requested two high chairs in the reservation notes. Only after ordering drinks, paying for valet, and walking a block to this separate building were we informed that no high chairs were available for our 1- and 2-year-olds. This lack of preparation and communication, combined with the lackluster environment, made what should have been a special evening an outright MISERABLE EXPERIENCE. First and foremost the menu that you have online had totally different prices. That right there is totally deceiving to customers. Im not penny pinching but it's FALSE ADVERTISING. That needs to be corrected immediately. How can an establishment of this caliber have an outdated menu online. Unfortunately we were stunned at the end of our meal that the prices were way more especially for the quality of food we received. We didn't bother to look at the actual menu in the restaurant because we looked at the one online and knew exactly what we were going to order. Had I looked at the restaurant menu and noticed the prices i would not have stayed. Very overpriced. We ordered the escargots and the calamari for appetizers. They were just ok. Nothing spectacular. We've had better for much less money. $33 is TOTALLY overpriced for escargots. The calamari the same issue overpriced and I have had them elsewhere way better. So I was dreading what the main course would taste like at that point. We ordered the "Waygu Churrasco" and it was yet another disappointing dish. I have had way better churrasco than what we had without it being Waygu. I'm questioning it being Waygu to begin with. Actually I had two pieces and that was it for me. $89 for churrasco way too much money. It was totally tasteless. That ruined it for me. The only good thing was the side of scalloped potatoes. Those were delicious. It was our anniversary so we tried to make the best of it at the end of the evening. We went ahead and ordered dessert to try to end the evening on a sweet note at least. We ordered the bread pudding. We asked for it instead of the apple topping if they could change the topping to bananas foster and they accommodated us with the request. The portion of the bread pudding was HUGE but it was just ok. The bananas foster on the other hand was delicious with the vanilla ice cream. However our table had no table linen. Fine dining restaurants should always have table linens. Another thing that was unnaceptable is that since there were no table linens the server wiped the table with a rag. Sooo unacceptable. The service was good. Our server was very nice and informative. Overall would I visit again? No i would not. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. I was treated to dinner at Prime as part of a private party. The food was great, especially the key lime pie. However, the portion sizes went beyond generous to obscene. Most of us felt guilty about the waste afterwards because we were staying in a hotel with no facilities for storing or reheating leftovers. For example, the tenderloin came in a 12 oz size. So, either come with containers for leftovers or plan to divide dishes by 3. I drank less wine than ever at such a dinner because the servers rarely came around to refill glasses. I ordered a Margarita and it was good, but mainly ice and a bit on the weak side. He liked the Prime Whiskey Sour. He said it was well balanced. The filet mignon we ordered was OK. It was not bad nor good enough to pay $89 for. The Brussel sprouts were not good. They were overflowed in our opinion. I did really enjoy the cheesy scalloped potatoes. The Caesar salad was OK. I had to ask for more dressing. The baked potato did not have enough oomph. It was pretty bland and they forgot the chives. Last, was the fried oreos. These were very good but I could only eat one. Music is normally good, sometimes there is a dj on the weekends. FINALLY! I found a replacement for Quality Meats on Ocean Drive. This upscale, yet homey steakhouse strives for the best of the best in food, service, and ambience. We started with the Bacon Steak. Everyone loves bacon, right? Imagine 8 inch long, quarter to half inch applewood smoked bacon that could easily be a meal in itself. This is so deliciously unhealthy you should only do it once or twice a year, but you have to do it. Just eat nothing but green veggies foe a week and you'll be fine. But I promise, it's worth it. Speaking of green veggies, the Cobb Salad with lobster and avocado was another meal unto itself. Definitely shareable, as are all their dishes. No small portions here! We also had the baked lobster Mac 'n cheese and Kobe steak sliders with caramelized onions. Too much food for two, but was great the next day. Strong drinks. Great food, great time! Firstly, there was an extremely tall man standing behind me as we were waiting to get in. Turns out, it was SHAQ! How cool. The ambiance was upscale and social. Our server was very attentive and helpful with questions we had about the menu. I ordered the Slow Braised Mishima Ranch Wagyu Short Rib, which was delicious, however, didn't really get the "wagyu" melt-in-your-mouth texture.
