Strong Arm Mover's kept in great contact with me, including updates that they were running a few minutes behind. No big deal. Traffic in Chicago, am I right? Nothing was broken, scratched or lost. Very efficient. Very friendly! They brought the muscles and personality. Also, I gave good details beforehand on the steps of moving (3rd floor, elevator to 2nd floor, no elevator) and was given a quote. This quote never changed throughout the process. Thank you, Strong Arms! read more

Frank and his crew are the best of the best. My friends and I have been using their services for several years now (I've personally used them 4 times), and we recommend them to all our other friends because they're so great. Friendly, prompt, so speedy, professional, very affordable. Frank let me sit in the front seat of the moving van. Very careful moving delicate items including my lemon tree. One time Frank was moving me and the former owner of the place showed up and wanted to look around... super sketchy. Long story short, I was glad to have two gentlemen on my side both built like linebackers. They were chivalrous. Hey Frank - weren't you going to invite me to your bday? Lawerence and Ben moved my stuff yesterday. Great experience for moving, because as you probably already know, moving pretty much sucks. This was my second move this year (last time I used someone else) and it was SO much better. Both guys were friendly, polite, and fast. Nothing was broken and they packed my storage unit nice and neat- they did such a nice job. I will definitely be using them in the future. Five stars all around! read more

Frank has worked miracles moving us twice now (once even on his birthday) and each time has been the actual quickest, most efficient moving experience I could ask for. Moving from one third floor to another across the city felt more like a hangout than a stressor for us. They're the nicest, coolest guys and they work wonders in a small window of time. Definitely definitely definitely would and will recommend to anyone trying to move anything. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. They came with a U haul truck, no packing materials and claimed they had 3 men even though the third one didn't show up until we reached the property we were moving to. They don't provide a confirmation email, they don't have insurance yet they charged a flat fee of $500. We were desperate so we still went with them. They couldn't take a few of our boxes claiming they were "too heavy". Fine we dealt with that. They broke my bed frame. It was older and weak so I dealt with that. The very one thing that we told them to ensure was taken care of, our 55 inch tv is cracked. When we followed up with them and asked how it got cracked. The owner Frank stayed "it was put between two box springs". Who puts a TV between too wooden box springs? He then got argumentative claiming "he never broke a TV before" and hung up the phone. We will be filing a claim and reporting them with the BBB and any other review site we can find. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

Strong Arm Movers were amazing! The price was exactly what I was hoping for, they were punctual, professional, and fast! Lawrence, Robert, and Augustine were my team and they worked their butts off moving my family's three bedroom apartment into a three floor town house. You can pay them to wrap your stuff in plastic with their plastic, or if you buy your own rolls from Amazon or wherever, they'll do it for free. Would definitely use again! read more

ABSOLUTLEY NOT! 1. Five(!) hours late. No updates, no assurances, just went dark. We learned much later that the delay was due to a worker who got hurt and a truck that broke down. We understand that things happen but there was no excuse for not telling us what was going on so we could pivot. 2. Ruined furniture. They left furniture out in the rain next to the truck. Mattresses soaked and a desk ruined. 3. Broken promise. They promised to reimburse us for the ruined desk but then just ignored us. 4. Truck the size of a camper. There was no way our 3-bedroom apartment was going to fit into their truck and we ended up moving a lot of our belongings ourselves until 2AM. That was not why we hired movers. Had we known we could have ferried some boxes over ourselves earlier - before it started raining buckets. 5. Lies. Kept saying that the disconnects were all "typos." Huh? Complete and utter disaster. Do not hire this company under any circumstances. June 27th Update: After the pubic offer to refund our money in exchange for taking down this review, they immediately reneged in private and said it was too much. That was after they first said that I must have reviewed the wrong company. Then they changed their name. Lies lies lies. Our advice: just don't. read more

These guys are funny and efficient, great people to talk to. They are reasonably priced and move stuff really fast, they moved close to 30 boxes, sofa and some other stuff of mine within an hour. I would recommend them to anyone looking to hire movers in the Chicagoland region. read more

I used Strong Arm Movers again to move a washer and dryer from my top floor to the basement. Just like last time, they were prompt, worked quickly and gave me a great price. Friendly, fast service--they are wonderful!!!! read more

Frank and the guys are the best movers in town. They are super affordable, very reliable and just really good guys. Frank greets me by name when I call. He can meet me anytime, anywhere. He knows all the tricks about moving big stuff and makes it look easy. He genuinely enjoys the work and his customers. 5 stars for Strong Arm Movers! read more

I'm glad that I had Strong Arms Movers help me. Thier big moving truck was nice because everything fit just one haul! I recommend to u all!

The absolute WORST experience of my life. DO NOT MOVE WITH THESE MOVERS. They were recommended by a company I trust. The price was right and I thought for sure nothing that bad could go wrong moving just across the street. Oh boy was I wrong! They first showed up 3 1/2 hrs late which resulted in late fees that they did not care about. These guys were scary! They were rude, threw my stuff, did not package any of my stuff up, and honestly I was afraid to speak up. In result of this.. I paid 300 dollars in late fees.. Made a scene at my apartment.. Broke thousand of dollars worth of furniture... Wont take checks (nothing to trace it back to them). SCAM, SCAM, SCAM And to top it all off...THESE GUYS DO NOT HAVE INSURANCE!! If you care at all for your belongings..STAY AWAY!! read more

They were recommended to me by a co-worker so I decided to hire movers rather than do-it myself. I was very pleased with my quote, the professionalism & care of my property. Didn't have to empty contents of dresser or anything else with no extra charge. All my wood furniture was wrapped in blankets and then "saran" wrap to hold it. Couch & chairs were wrapped in "saran" for protection. They were well prepared for items that weren't packed in boxes/tubs (lamps) & had the dollies to accommodate. Elevator @ old apartment, none @ new (2nd floor also). I have & would recommend them again! Sue S read more

Great experience using Strong Arm Movers. Very efficient and personable. Would highly recommend them for any moving job.

Was referred by a friend. They agreed to move my girlfriend's and I single bedroom apartments into a two bedroom. They had no packing materials, no sense of professionalism with regards to concern for items, and blatantly lied about several things, including time, number of guys who would arrive, and other things. In short, pay the extra money for a real moving company, these guys are not worth the risk in any way. read more

Frank is a great guy... Showed up about 15 minutes early, got started right away. It took a little over 2 hours (in the rain) for 1 bedroom with 20 to 25 minutes of drive time. Most furniture pieces where wrapped, a couple scratches but not big deal. Don't let the low price fool you, he's as good as big buck guys. Frank was also great returning text messages with random questions prior to the move. read more

My boyfriend booked these guys for us at a good price as long as we left a review. Although skeptic given some of the horrifying reviews, we went with them because it was all that was available. Honestly, homeless men on the street would have been a better bet than this joke of a moving service. Every 1 star review of this company is accurate - the movers were running late (like three hours), once we spoke to them they had no idea they were moving us so we cancelled (because we had already moved a ton of stuff while waiting for the no showers). To no ones surprise, Frank said the movers had a long day and someone fell from the fourth floor. What a joke. If you're looking to hire these people, you're better off doing it yourself. Frank, next time don't ask for a review before you move someone. Yelpers, good luck with with your move if you're looking for movers. I truly hope you pick someone else and if you pick these people I just feel bad for you. read more

Strong Arm was A+ in my move of a 300+ lb mirror. They did it flawlessly and moved it up 2 floors without any damage to the mirror, and did it with only 2 people. They were very professional from a communication standpoint and were easy to work with. They also had a good vibe. Most importantly, they are STRONG. I previously had 2 other movers attempt to move this mirror but they failed, so I called Strong Arm. I would certainly use them again! read more

Very unprofessional and unreliable. Already stressed about the move, they tried raising the rate from $170 to $230 to $260 and then ended up cancelling ONLY ONE HOUR prior. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! read more

I've used Strong Arm Movers three times and have been happy with the service every single time! They are friendly and FAST! They are careful with your belongings and take the time to wrap them if necessary. I've recommended them to everyone I know. read more

I'm way late writing this, but these guys helped me move a vintage, super heavy, audio console from my old Edgewater studio to my new Logan Square apartment. They were prompt, nice, and the price was very very fair. Will definitely use them again :) read more

The movers themselves that I worked with were super strong and super fast. But what good is that if you realize when you start unraveling your new apartment, that 4 pieces of your, er my, furniture, were scratched. Three tables and a leather chair. And WHY did they not use *anything* to wrap *anything?* Frank, our finest dispatcher, could not answer that, did not bother to ask his movers that. I called Frank on a Saturday and he handled my call about this by saying "I'm busy. I'm at the zoo with my family. This is family day. I don't work on Saturday" This was the mentality I was dealing with. He asked for photos of the scratched furniture, then said, "we didn't damage anything, ma'am." Then he ended up saying he would give me $100. back if I drove 50 blocks to get it. The punchline to this joke of text messages, yes, all of his display of unprofessionalism is recorded in text messages, is that 3 times I asked for someone to come to my place, with furniture markers, to cover the scratches. That is all I wanted in order to be happy. And he couldn't even address that. They ARE great movers. The Movers. The Dispatcher, Frank, who has a boss but thinks he is in business for himself, the one who schedules and runs around the movers, they are not the only ones he can give the run around to. The movers themselves - if you could find a way around Frank - now that's the ticket to a good experience. read more

They arrived about 20 minutes later than they said they would, however, they got to work right away and didn't waste any time. They moved everything very quickly despite not having an elevator at my new apartment. The pricing is definitely fair compared to other companies (cheaper), but more expensive than a U-Haul -- not by much. I had to call and confirm myself after being told that I would receive a confirmation call, so I was a little nervous since it was the night before moving, but the crew was great! Completely worth it, and happy I chose strong arm rather than another company or U-Haul, because everything is included (dollies, furniture pads, truck, etc.). read more

I called at 10 am and asked how soon they could help me. They were at my house by 2pm that same day. Charles and Roberto were extremely professional and very fast. They moved a few heavy items, all of them antiques, with care. They even commented on how nice my office was (they were moving stuff from my home into my new office) and how cool my coffee table was. I HIGHLY recommend these movers. Great job and very friendly! read more

I had none of the problems this other guy did. Frank was very responsive. One time answered during a job and asked that I text him and he answered right back. I had to reschedule the day before my move and they were very accommodating. They called me when they were on their way, right on time. They were fast! Like real fast! Everything was packed in my truck perfectly. They provide their own furniture dolly, bubble wrap and packing tape if you need it. You can even call them about recommendations on what size place you have and what size truck you will need. (My truck was too big for all my stuff) they were very nice, professional and the price was great! I will definitely recommend them to my friends! read more

Well, first of all, they were very nice. A little late, but not by much. I went with them on the recommendation of coworkers who both had a good experience. When I talked to them on the phone and they gave me the price, it sounded about right - I don't remember exactly, but it was something like $55 an hour plus $35 for all the stairs. They said it shouldn't take more than three or four hours. Now, granted, I lived on the third floor of a walk-up. And I had a lot of stuff. But I was upfront about what my situation was and that was the quote I got, so I budgeted about $300, just to be on the safe side. It wound up taking 10 hours, costing me almost three times what they had indicated it would cost. On top of this, they lost one of my air conditioners (and didn't offer to replace it or refund its cost). The extra time it took was a serious strain on my then-pregnant wife, and we didn't wind up finishing our move until almost midnight. Now, again, I thought they were very nice, and they did a pretty good job of moving stuff around. But they brought two guys for a three-man job (I wound up doing a fair amount of moving which, fine, whatever, but ideally if I hire movers, I don't want to wind up being one of them) and it cost significantly more than it should have. I'd say give them a shot, especially if you don't have a lot of stuff you need moved and you're in no hurry to move it. But if that's your situation, you might do just as well by bribing some friends with a couple pizzas. read more

Frank and Louis did a great job with the move. Didn't hear one complaint about my heavy possessions or the distance to the third floor (sans elevator!). They wrapped my heavier items with their own tape and cushioning. The price was right, too at $300 for almost four hours. The only things is they arrived a half hour late. They did get right to work when they arrived. Hard workers! Thanks, guys! read more

I just moved from a 32nd floor elevator building to a 3rd floor walk-up yesterday and these guys were QUICK, which I so appreciated since I had to be somewhere shortly after the move. Strong Arm was recommended to me from someone on met while on vacation, crazy as that sounds!! BUT THEY WERE AMAZING!! These guys were awesome. Great price, willing to work with me on my timing, and all with a wonderful attitude. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Frank and the men that he brought to help my roommate and I move out. They were very nice and friendly and gave me quick responses about our move. They were also on time and helped accommodate us with our move as needed. It cost us $460.00 to move out of our apartment on the second floor and into our new apartment on the third floor, including overnight storage. I would definitely recommend their services to anyone that is moving! read more

Frank and Robert were great, very professional and very curteous. These guys were quick, efficient, and a fantastic price! They were on-time and very friendly. I booked them for two days. I had to move out of my apartment and store all of my things in a storage unit, and then move it into my new apartment the following day. There was a slight hiccup the second day - one of the movers quit or may have gotten fired half way through. I panicked for a second because the other guy couldn't do it all himself. I called Frank, and both he and another guy showed up within 15 minutes. I'd use them again in a heartbeat! read more

MOVER THREATENED VIOLENCE. Our safety was threatened by the head mover who demanded we pay $190 more than what we were quoted at. DO NOT USE! We were told our lives would be made a nightmare living in our new apartment and that we should "watch out". Here's what happened: 1. Quoted a price after telling the owner everything about our unit, including what floor we live on and what floor we are moving to. We are told that 3 men would move us and that it should take 2 hours. 2. Moving day: no show and after a half hour I text the owner who says that the men and truck will be at our apartment 1.5 hours after the scheduled time. Guys finally show up--only 2. They take FOREVER loading our stuff into the car. So long that my boyfriend and I start moving our stuff into the truck for them! The guys have been overworked all day, so when they ask if they can take a break to grab dinner, we say of course. Well had we know that choice would cost us $190 and our peace of mind we wouldn't have done that 3. We finally get to the new apartment, and the guy I assume is the owner is there. He tries to speed things along and the move in actually goes pretty quickly. But then he tells us we owe him $190 more than our quote bc of how long it took. How is that our fault?! They were 1.5 hr late. Had only 2, not 3 movers who had already been moving other people all day long and were completely worn out by the time they got to our apartment. 4. We tell him we're not paying the extra because we were promised a better service than we received and that it was the company's failures, not ours, that caused it to take so long. After a screaming match, he tells us that he's going to make our life a nightmare here, that he took pictures of my license plate and that we should watch out. Seriously, do not use! It's not worth it and only ends up costing you more than a reputable moving company AND your personal safety. read more
