Just finished the most ridiculous (in a good way) meal here. Tried 9 different dishes and 3 different cocktails, nothing disappointed. It's a bit pricey but I think it's well worth it. Items worth mentioning: -Fries trio: really good, full of flavor, some interesting combos as well -Tuna poke: pretty typical to other poke so you can't go wrong here -Chilled lobster tacos: amazing! The fruit salsa on top gives it a nice twist -Kauai shrimp: so much goodness here and a bit on the spicy side which was awesome. Shrimp are good in size and cooked just right -Black tai: a good play on the typical Mai tai. You'd think a sesame flavored drink would be weird but it was actually really good! -Desserts: I tried three thanks to the man Ron who spoils his customers. All were to die for! Ambiance was also really modern/nice. Sat in an L-shaped booth to be close to the loved one. Can't wait to go back again! read more

W O W!! Hands down the best restaurant/experience my Family has ever had and we have traveled extensively around the world and ate at many 5 star and Michelin Rated Restaurants. From the Drinks to the Starters to everyone's Main Course it was FLAWLESS. Our Waiter "Sean" was awesome and attentive and all of his suggestions were spot on and perfect accompaniments to each other and to the drinks. To top it all off the ambiance and the Live Music/Band was perfect. Best experience The fact that this Restaurant is not 5 Star on Yelp means that a lot of people have ZERO taste!! Great job Stripsteak! read more

The vibe was interesting here. They try to be upscale and fancy, but being in the mall, they get a wide range of guests- baseball hats, kids, flip flops. It felt confusing. I felt like it either needed to be a little more casual/less expensive for the vibe it put off or not let the beach bums in. The food was pretty good, which I would expect from a Michael Mina restaurant. We ordered a few apps (foie gras was a hit!) and a few sides (fried rice, mac n cheese, mushrooms and all were delicious). We all ordered the fish of the day as we don't eat a lot of beef. The fish was light and tender and flavorful. It did not disappoint. The staff was pretty good and the manager even walked around and welcomed guests. Very hospitable. we skipped dessert so we could go across the street to Dukes and get a piece of Hula Pie. read more

Happy to report a fantastic experience dining alone on the beautiful lanai and late at the new Stripsteak Waikiki in the International Marketplace. An excellent cocktail kicked things off, along with the trio of fries (perfectly crunchy but not over-cooked) with three different dipping sauces. With a diverse menu, it was difficult to choose from between all the local seafood and steak (brought in from Chicago) so my choice was Lobster Tacos (with pineapple in tempura taco shells) followed by a perfectly-cooked NY Strip with blue cheese topping. With a very diverse wine list, it was a shame to be dining alone, but the variety of wines by the glass was more than sufficient. Blueberry "Pie" (small round cheesecake with a delicious poached blueberry concoction) finished off the night of amazing cuisine. What made this the BEST dining experience on this trip to Hawaii was the service, coordinated by my primary server Sean O. The entire team pitched in, explaining all the specials, making sure my water glass was never empty and checking in with each course to see that everything was prepared to my taste. Will definitely be back to this location when back in Honolulu. read more

The place was amazing when we were first got there. We had drinks n had the complimentary fries at the bar. We enjoyed chatting w the bartender. He was great! Then when we were ready to be seated we had sashimi n the foie gras pineapple app n all was delicious. Once we got our entrees it looked good. I had the fresh local fish ono on soba noodles n some veggies. It was cold and over cooked. I notified my waiter to let the chef know. But they didn't care to replace it or offer something else or even apologize. I don't even think he told the chef. My husband had the rib eye n it was ok. Def not fabulous. After being disappointed w the entrees I had a bad taste of this restaurant. This place is overrated. I think I'll stick to my fav restaurant, BLT Steak. But willing to come back for cocktails. To update... since I barely touched the the ono entree I had it boxed up. Whoever boxed it up included the liquid sauce. And guess what? Yes, it leaked and left a little puddle on the floor of my car. Thank goodness I have all weather floor mats to easily clean. But we were cleaning the car at 11pm. Double whammy n thumbs down. read more

Ok so I usually write a much longer review however this place is amazing. Service is attentive but not overbearing, food is awesome and everything is presented as though you are a VIP. Sure it's not cheap, but nothing good is. If you don't value well made, well presented and well served food then this place is not for you. But for everyone else, you should treat yourself. As a side note, you cannot substitute anything on the menu, it's made specifically to the chefs standards. As for cocktails, try the Desendant. read more

Had really high hopes for this place as my wife said that they served tomahawk steak here but due to the pandemic, they discontinued doing so. No biggie, we could have just ordered the next best thing, if there was any... The night started off in the wrong direction once we got our soups and they forgot our spoons -- no biggie, let it slide and just ask for it later but another waiter noticed and gave them to us. One star. Next, our server placed our order without even asking us how we wanted the steak to be cooked and fully assumed we wanted it the way the restaurant wanted it to be served -- what if (for whatever reason) I wanted mine well done? No star. The New York strip, which was supposed to be the star of the night, that we ordered from the prefixed menu was chewy and had some raw gristle to it; the color was amazing though..! No star. Next, the service was nonexistent. Funnily enough, everyone else around us was seen to by managers and other wait staff but our table was ignored the whole night; the busser who cleaned our table even had the generosity to ask us how we were doing but our server disappeared throughout the night and would wait on the tables around us; he even had the time to create conversation with them in front of us. Not even once was there a single apology, not even once was there a glance over at our table to ask how we were doing. The table next to ours was checked upon at least (I counted) six times throughout the course of the night. My wife kept looking around for any sort of attention but our server and the manager was too busy conversing with other tables. We kind of got fed up with it and asked them to to-go our dessert that came with the prefixed menu. Note to management: If you really want to taut your "high end" restaurant with "high end" food, start with the basics and set the bar by being the example of what great customer service looks like. Treat all your guests equally and check in on all of them equally. Overall, place was a mess. Extremely disappointed and extremely overpriced. read more

The best experience can be found at the bar. Period. Having dined there on several occasions; bar still wins. The 3 dinner steak experiences I've had were bordering "what is this?" (unmarbled fat bomb wagyu) to "why?" (Dried out US beef cut). The 2 best menu items are the Ahi Tartar and the new hamachi shiso(?) - I'm not sure the name, but it is ridiculous. Sit at the comfortable bar; ask immediately for the duck fat fries and order one or both of these dishes. Thank you Alejandro, Sean & Will for an awesome end to our girlfriends' reunion. My friend was blown away - "first visit, definitely not the last". The bar staff here is really exceptional; every visit is read more

We went there on Christmas Eve. Knowing that the holidays aren't always the best time to dine out, even in "fine dining" establishments, we booked early,4:45. There was a Christmas special that looked interesting but it was for bar patrons only. We had the specials offered in the dining room. Again, I know that tables are at a premium during a holiday and I do want the restaurant to make money so they will stay open. But the way they tried to turn over our table was rude. We were served the first and second course at the same time. And before my partner could finish his salad the entrees were presented. Again because pre fixe menu items can be pre prepped, it was done with the entrees. The meat was pre charred and then re warned. But in my partner's case not for very long because although the meat was nicely charred it was cold. A waiter over hearing him, came quickly and offered to heat it longer. The red velvet cake was good but we were full and opted to doggy bag. When we were leaving (and even if the sun had set it was still very bright) there were lots of people outside waiting for their tables. When we first went to Strip Steak they had just opened, the presentation of courses were better paced and more enjoyable. It's sad that it makes holidays less enjoyable. read more

Wow is all i can say. I mean seriously!!!! This place from decor, too hospitality, too the food was amazing. Bryan was our server and he is a gentleman above. Friendly, kind and out going. My daughter never takes to strangers but she took to Bryan very quickly and he kept making my little one laugh. Our food and drinks were incredible and I really can't wait to go back. Try everything i did and everything was so delicious. Go for the wagyu, just make sure you tell them don't over season it. read more

since my man loves steak, I brought him here a few months ago service was a little questionable. I couldn't tell which server was our's! it took a little while for us to get out orders in. there is a complementary appetizer of house fries in a variety of dipping sauces. all food was well presented. I was disappointed to find out that they ran out of edamame, which I really wanted to try. read more

I came here for a function in the private room hosted by a vendor from work. I had never heard of this restaurant before but knew it was at the newly renovated International marketplace. Parking, where to find it and how much. Apparently it's free for the first hour and then increases thereafter - at the Kuhio avenue parking structure. Inside decor was trendy and modern...Liking what I see so far. Hostess was friendly and showed us to the private room. I will only comment on the experience I had that evening in the private dining room. Service was fast and courteous. Our picked out menu for the evening was from the Queen Emma menu ($75) which includes: Makimono rolls, Blistered Shishito Pellers, Sake and Hamachi Poke, Thai Calamari Ceviche, Caesar Salad, "Instant bacon" - kurobuta pork belly and Entree of Moyer farms filet mignon and miso steamed black cod which came with the accompanying chef's side selection of Tater tots with Yuzu sauce, button mushrooms with onions and cream corn. Dessert was Devil's food cake-kona coffee mousse. Highlights of the meal were definitely the Duck fries with 3 different dipping sauce, Ceviche, kurobuta pork belly, Filet mignon and Dessert. Chef's side dishes were average. Room size fit about 35-40 people. Temperature in the room was adequate. The vendor had a slide projection show and we could see screen from all angles. There were no outside noise interference from the private room which was a great bonus. read more

Had a group dinner with some friends here earlier this month. Overall, we had a good time and it was nice, but we were disappointed for the prices we paid. I'm a lobster lover and a fan of pot pies, and a friend we saw on the way in recommended the lobster pot pie, so I had to order it, despite the $95 price tag. It was for my birthday, so I figured what the heck... They put on a nice little table-side show preparing the pot pie, but frankly, I would have enjoyed the lobster more just steamed with melted butter. The pot pie didn't add to it, and wasn't worth the high price tag. The validated parking for the International Market Place still required us to pay, even though there's plenty of parking. If you're going to pay so much for a meal, I would hope they would at least provide fully validated free parking. I probably won't be coming back, as there are other places I'd rather go for the price. read more

Had a great time there 2 nights ago. Food was not cheap, but excellent. We enjoyed the Seafood tower, steak (filet & ribeye) and sides (mac/cheese and spinach). Meat was cooked perfectly and it's hard not to love black truffle butter on top. Service was also what we expect from a pricey place: excellent. Our server was very patient and accommodating as we changed our mind a couple times. Ambiance was energetic and the restaurant is very nice. A little loud but we're good with that. Will definitely be back one day. read more

Steak in Hawaii just doesn't compare to Chicago and New York. I had high hopes Stripsteak would live up to its reputation, but it was disappointing even by Hawaii standards. Another beautifully designed restaurant with tasty sides and interesting starters, but little substance when it comes to what matters--THE STEAK. Saturday night. We ordered the 40oz tomahawk and 20oz rib eye, med-rare. Both overdone, dry and flavorless. Sides and starters were delicious and the mushroom chimichurri offered some redemption. But I didn't come for the well seasoned sauces. I came for steak. A solid thick cut piece of juicy red meat. Primal and extra satisfying. What we received instead was underwhelming at best. In my book a true steakhouse doesn't need all the extras. No truffle aioli or foie gras butter. Fine if you got it. But when you strip it all down you better have some actual steak. Tip: If you find yourself at Stripsteak anyway, order the cheeseburger. Not steak, but one of the best burgers I've had in a while and likely the most satisfaction you'll get. read more

Our visit to Stripsteak was very pleasant. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The service was very good. Our server was friendly and very responsive to my questions regarding the menu. Her suggestions were great. Every dish we had was well worth ordering and I would order again. The fries as others have said, are delicious as well. We had: steak tartare, foie Gras, instant bacon, seared scallops, truffle Mac n cheese, crab Oscar. We went light as we had eaten only a couple hours earlier. There was live music which was very good and set a great vibe. The quick service played a great role in our experience. The support staff was very attentive and were always busy. As a previous GM myself, I was impressed. Definitely recommend. read more

Stripsteak - Steakhouses Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Disappointing. After reading the reviews, mostly positive, we were excited to give this new restaurant a try. For $245+ (2 cocktails , 2 glasses of wine), could have been a lot better. Service - Extremely slow. It took 45 minutes to get our cocktails. Our server was very nice and apologetic but still... 45 minutes for the Black Tai and the Rum experience? Hour for appetizers? Drinks - good but not worth the wait. The rum experience was interesting showmanship but again, not worth the wait. Food - we ordered the prix fix "Queen Emma" for $75per person, a good value versus ala carte. Calamari ceviche was average. Sushi roll also average. Pepper with watermelon and Caesar salad both not memorable. Miso cod was tasty but nothing special. The filet mignon was average and not even hot; it was room temperature. At least it wasn't overcooked. My husband and I really wanted to like this place, but sadly it was quite average for the kind of restaurant it purports to be. It was expensive for the quality and service. We were just at La Mer and are fans of Chef Mavro and Roy's -- these establishments are far superior and consistently so. We spent many years in NYC before moving back home and are quite familiar with "name"' restaurants and happy to pay the premium for premium service and food. Unfortunately, Stripsteak fell short. Not sure if we will be coming back read more

The food was absolutely delicious. This place is definitely pricey I would advise not going if you don't plan to spend money. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of going here our last night in Hawaii and it was the best meal we had here. The fifth star is actually because there was a love musician, Randy Allen, and he was amazing. He made the dinner 5 star worthy. I hope everyone gets to hear him if they eat here. Mac and Cheese was bomb! I got the filet (it felt like it just melts in your mouth) My boyfriend got the rib eye and it was so flavorful! The atmosphere is nice and depending where you sit can be very intimate if you are with your special someone. We will definitely be back when we visit Hawaii again! read more

We arrived and it was very busy as we were greeted the hostess were very friendly. The wait help was great the food came out and looked and was delicious the steak $55 was tasty except they charge $2 for steak sauce was a little petty since you're paying $$$ for steak what's $2.00 lol and the seafood tower was my entree had plenty of seafood on it and sushi and well worth the $75 desserts sounded delicious we had the tiramisu delicious with a scoop of ice cream $3.00 a scoop. A very high end restaurant good for a special occasion there was plenty of parking $4.00 with validation I recommend this restaurant just remember you'll probably spend easy $100 per person by the time you're done read more

Great service and delicious foood, plus they made us feel really welcome with our three kids in tow.

Stay away from prefixed menu $124 per person. Even for Waikiki is total rip off. Dont be fooled by long list of food in this menu. Most food is shared. Meaning they will bring you plate with one medium size crab cake that you expected to cut and share. And menu says cakes which implies more than one. Same is for most of items in this menu. And whatever not shared expect crumbs, like 2 little pieces of their pork belly. Food it not that fresh. It looks like Brussel sprouts were leftovers collected for few days and then served to prefix buyers suckers. And it is clear what management thinks about diners who go for prefix, they get free French fries while others get free amuse bouche. Waiters pushing this prefix dinner on diners. If you complain to their corporate office or restaurant manager expect to be ignored. This place is nothing but fraud. 10 minutes travel out of Waikiki will get you A5 wagyu for 1/5 of what this rip off restaurant from hell charges read more

My husband and I ate here on our Honeymoon for our first dinner as newlyweds, and it was truly incredible. The pork belly appetizer, and french fry flight, were amazing. The steaks were fantastic. And above all, the service was probably the best I have ever received at any restaurant. The hosts, waiters, assistants, and even the manager were professional, personable, and very attentive. 10/10 recommend Stripsteak. read more

We had a so-so experience at Stripsteak in Las Vegas a few years ago and weren't eager to try this new restaurant until we found out that our favorite waiter in Waikiki, Diego started working there. It was for my VIP client's birthday and I knew Diego would make her feel so special. Sommelier John welcomed us with glasses of champagne, and everything was perfect all the way to the end. We tried ahi crudo, steak tartare, lobster tacos, filet mignon, dried aged tomahawk steak, lots of cocktails & wine, and of course desserts. All were amazingly delicious and my client told me that it was the best birthday dinner she ever had in Hawaii! She has been coming to Hawaii for years and spends 2~3 months a year here so she's been to lots of restaurants. Many restaurants are opening up in Waikiki lately and most of them are rather disappointing. Stripsteak was a nice surprise. Both the service and quality of food are exceptional and it became one of my new favorites. Outside is casual and inside is fancy, and it's a great restaurant for any occasions. Thank you, Jennifer, Diego, and John for making our night unforgettable and we will be back soon! read more

This place looked a bit lavish for my taste, but the happy hour looked pretty stellar. And it was delightful! The steak flat bread & Tokyo Tots were a revelation! My wife went for the poke tacos & loved 'em, but I passed, 'cause fish ain't my thing. The service was on point! Kaila was super friendly, informative & accommodating. If you can get her as a server, you won't be disappointed, but everyone on the staff seemed pretty friendly. I'm giving' this place 4 stars, 'cause it's definitely on the more expensive side, especially the non-happy hour menu. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking to treat yo'self! read more

This place has a classy and still gives that local feel to it being that it's in Waikiki. I loved the openness and the flow of the place. Services was awesome. Food was great. We ordered the steak, scallops, mash potato for our (myself and my wife)entree. Entree were all delicious; presentation was appetizing and the quality of the food was amazing. Steak was cooked to perfection; tender, juicy, and tasty/well-seasoned...I was surprised. We ordered fresh oysters (6), lobster tacos, and the Stripsteak César salad for our appetizer. Oyster was nice and fresh. We didn't really dig the lobster tacos; it was kind of flat (needed more salt) and didn't give me that out-of-bounce bite that i was expecting being that it's a lobster taco. I think crab meat would be a better fit for this taco as far as texture and it's natural saltiness. We loved the César salad but was a little bit too peppery for the wife; kind of overwhelming the salad. Loved the complimentary fries with the 3 different sauces. For dessert, I ordered the gelato and coffee while the wife ordered the cheesecake with blueberries toppings. Gelato was good. Cheesecake was over-the-top...one of the best cheesecake I've had. Coffee was strong and aromatic...just the way I like it. Overall, we were happy and satisfied with our dinning experience and we would definitely go back to try other items. The location is perfect as there is plenty of parking and easy to get to. If you're going to watch a show at Blue Note Hawaii, this would be a great option for dinning as the restaurant is in the new International Market Shopping Center, which is right across from Moana Surf Rider Hotel where Blue Note is in. And yes, we watched a 9 p.m. show at Blue Note, and it was very convenient being that it's in the middle of Waikiki where parking and traffic can be crazy. read more

We were on our way to eat at Gomatei, but found this spot and decided to eat here instead. The outdoor seating and happy hour from 230pm-530pm lured us in. If you come during happy hour, you either need to sit in the outdoor area (which was hot), or at the bar. We chose the latter. At the bar, everything is brand new from the cups to the seats. Very high class ambiance inside. They have the Black Tai and White Tai (on the happy hour menu) that is created fresh right in front of your eyes. I got a beer, Miller Light for $4. They also have a special drink called a Kamaaina cocktail which was pretty awesome as well. The "Pau Hana" was also an interesting mix of Heineken and Crown Royal. Something to try after a long day at work! The food was awesome! Although small portions due to being like a fine dining experience, you will have space for dessert. We got the Spicy Tuna Roll for $8 and the Loco Moco Sliders which were bomb for $9. They also have Kamaaina discount for 10% if you inquire, but unfortunately not for happy hour. Bartenders were very friendly and service was fast. Great place and great first experience here! read more

My happy hour buddy and I decided to try Stripsteak Waikiki and we were totally happy! We sat at the bar and credit must go to the young men behind the bar - Tate, Mondo, Will and Shreyas. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable! They really added to our enjoyment of Happy Hour. We enjoyed some specialty cocktails, as well as my usual Grey Goose Martini. What really stood out was the food. We ordered off the Happy Hour menu and the regular menu. I'm posting just a few photos that will speak for itself. We definitely ordered more than I am posting, all delicious. Although on the pricier side for Happy Hour, the quality of the food and the ambiance makes it well worth the splurge. They even surprised me with a complimentary custom cocktail. Having been to many places for Happy Hour, the bartenders definitely can make or break the Happy Hour experience. The whole staff here makes you feel welcome. Definitely this place is at the top of my Happy Hour list! read more

We stayed at the Moana surf rider across the street and we asked the bartender about some good restaurants around and the first thing she mentioned Michael Mina strip steak at the international market , being from SF Michael have two restaurants and celebrity name , we walked in they were completely booked , luckily two seats opened up at the bar , now usually a restaurant opened for a week you expect a lot of problems , but the staff knew what they're doing one of the bartender came from the SF restaurant, we had two orders of sushi rolls and shared the 20oz ribeye steak with a Napa valley Cab, let me tell you we are going back tomorrow night out last night I n Waikiki. I highly recommend it . read more

My friends and I went to Stripsteak for their Thanksgiving Dinner a couple weeks back. Being traditionalists we opted for the Kabocha Squash Soup and the Turkey Dinner. Being a Game of Thrones fan I opted for the Mother of Dragons as my first craft cocktail. With pisco, cognac, pittaya, and creme de cassis as main ingredients I was afraid it would be too sweet... but the cocktail was delicious and not overpowering in sweetness. We were served complimentary duck fat fries, which were accompanied by 3 dipping sauces. The fries arrived after our soups which was a downer, and were cold, but the aioli sauce was amazing! The kabocha squash soup had simple warm flavors and made you think of fall on the mainland; it was smooth and creamy. The turkey dinner also did not disappoint. While I know this is not a regular item, the turkey was warm and juicy and flavorful. I've never liked Brussels sprouts, but the ones that accompanied this dish were cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was just the right amount of food. Overall I gave 4 stars because service, although very polite, was very slow, and if you're seated outside, even with the overhand you get a little wet if it starts to drizzle. I'd love to come back and try the steak. read more
