Couldn't complain about this place. Great service I accidentally ordered the wrong thing and the waiter brought us something new no problem. I would highly recommend the ribeye and the poke absolutely ravishing read more

Awful!! No priority to guests with reservations on seating. I actually have never been treated this way ever! Hostess was extremely rude and actually told me that I had one option for an outside table after she just sat another party if 3 w/no reservation in a great spot. She actually told me to sit down and wait 5 minutes for the "only table I can get" outside. Then when we were seated I mentioned to the gentleman seating us this table was in a high traffic zone and I requested not to sit there. He had no response! . We left after appetizers which we have NEVER done. A restaurant of this caliber should be much more understanding of guests instead of its this or nothing! I actually walked out crying and im not a crier! This was such an upsetting experience on our last night in Hawaii. Just wanted a nice dinner for our family on the last night. I frequent Mastro's, Fleming's, morons and have Never been treated this way. Not even at a Fast food restaurant was I ever treated this way! Save your time and $ from going here. read more

We just got back from Stripsteak Waikiki where we celebrated our anniversary, so I figured I'd write my review now while everything was fresh in my mind! I made the reservations a couple days ago and noted it was for a special occasion, and we were greeted with a nice Happy Anniversary card at the table signed by many members of the staff. Gorgeous modern decor, loved the silverware and water caraffe at the table. We googled the brand so we could buy it for home. They gave us a great booth, smart setup. Perfect for 2, although they could fit 4 if necessary. We don't drink so we started with one of the virgin mixed drinks...I forget what it was...Lilikoi, club soda...whatever it was it was delicious and we ordered another one. The free fries sampler that everyone posts about came next, and the truffle fries are to die for - although we made the all disappear without much issue. We also had the Bibb salad with ginger vinaigrette which was much better than your average salad...but lets get to the main event! My wife had the Salmon...now I'm not much of a fish eater but this was the most gorgeous piece of salmon I've ever seen, cooked flawlessly, seasoned...stunning. It made me want to try it next time. She said the kimchi fried rice was excellent too. I'm a big steak guy, I've had steaks around the world at some great places. I was more than happy with my 20oz Ribeye! Again, flawlessly cooked, HUGE cut of beef. Perfect amount of pink in a medium well, juicy, everything just right. Out of this world..I added steak sauce on the side and it was delicious, but the meat stands on it's own. Easily in the top 3 steaks I've had in my life, if not #1. If someone forced me to nitpick, I would only say the plating could have been more interesting, as it just came with with 2 or 3 cooked choy on top, nothing else. I ordered the baked potato, which was beautifully presented sliced in 2 and stood up on the round ends, with the potato and bacon exposed, butter on the side. Phenomenal, love the butter. They gave us a very cute complimentary mango sorbet on a white plate with Happy Anniversary spelled out in chocolate sauce..but we wanted our own big desserts too! My wife went for the Guava Shaved Ice..which she polished off pretty easily. I had the Malasadas, 2 Tahitian Vanilla and 2 Guava filled. They came out warm, slightly crispy outside, verrrrrry messy. You'll need a fork or spoon unless you want the filling all over your hands and lap. So delicious. I'll also say our server Buddy was really friendly, genuine, knowledgable, and service was great even for a newly opened restaurant on a busy night that clearly had big private events going on. It was $240 after 20% tip for everything, $69 of which was the steak. Pricy of course, but you should know that before showing up. To me, it was worth it for the nice atmosphere, great steak, sides, and desserts. To some, maybe not. It's so close to 5 stars, and I might easily rate it such next time. I'll be going back. read more

Our experience at Stripsteak Waikiki was amazing. We were greeted by the hostess and shown to our seat immediately. The sommelier stopped by and welcomed us, which was unexpected and a nice touch. Our server, Sean, then came by with dinner menus and explained the concept as well as some of his favorite dishes. He did a great job of giving us adequate information without giving us too many overwhelming details. We began with cocktails; the Ring of Fire was delicious and unique, and the Chameleon was a wonderfully crafted beverage with a fun tableside surprise! Our small plates included the bigeye tuna crudo (the perfect spicy dish to help open up the palate), hand-cut steak tartare (served with warm pita bread), and the instant bacon. The instant bacon was probably my favorite; super flavorful with an impressive textural difference provided by the tempura oyster. Our entrees included the washugyu flat iron steak cooked to a perfect medium rare with a broiled half lobster. We tried a variety of accompaniments, the bone marrow butter being my favorite. Sean mentioned that the green beans would be life changing, and they were. The truffle mac and cheese was rich and decadent, and the hamakua mushrooms were much larger than expected and went perfectly with the steak. The sommelier was able to pair a delicious glass of Ken Wright pinot noir that was flavorful enough for the steak I was eating but light enough for the lobster that went with it. Finally, we finished with the pineapple foster that was prepared on a tableside skillet! It was so much fun to watch and even more fun to eat. ;) I took the guava cream puffs home and enjoyed them as the perfect midnight snack. Yum. This is definitely one of the best dinners I've ever had, from the food and beverage to the service itself. Thank you all so much for creating such a memorable and wonderful experience for us! read more

This was our very first visit here to celebrate my wife's birthday. It's located at the beautiful International Market Place in Waikiki. Parking is plentiful & your first 2 hours are free with validation. We were greeted at the door & promptly taken to our table. I was a bit disappointed with our table as it was a rather small plain white table considering the size of the plates being used (after they took our order they placed another similar table to accommodate our meal). Our waiter Brian asked if we dined here before & since we did not he gave us a bit of history regarding the restaurant. We opted for the King Kamehameha price fixed menu which consisted of seven distinct entrees; Makimono Rolls, Michael's Ahi Tuna Poke, King Crab & Lobster Tacos, Roasted Beets, Instant Bacon, Ribeye & Miso Black Cod, & for dessert Devil's Food Cake & Tropical Fruit. Tokyo tots, mac & cheese, & sautéed spinach were also served as accompaniments. The entrees are served Ohana style which means it's to be shared but we both had to order the same menu at $125 each. We thoroughly enjoyed each dish and left there more than satisfied! The service was great, the staff friendly & attentive (being a messy eater they would come around and wipe up my mess to keep the white table clean!). I left out one star due to the fact they did not acknowledge my wife's birthday which I had mentioned as a special request when I made the reservation. All in all it was a great experience and would more than likely return to celebrate another special occasion. read more

Stripsteak - 20oz. Ribeye & Miso Black Cod - Steakhouses Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

Great atmosphere; not a lot of food for the price (small portions) and the food was only mediocre. The service was lacking and we sat for lengthy periods of time with empty plates. We decided not to even have dessert because we didn't want to sit there longer. read more

Really 4 1/2 but I'll round up to five. So, we got here 20 min before they opened which worked out very much in our favor, due to them not having any more tables until 9:30. At 5:30, we were promptly seated, and had some drinks at our table in a very timely fashion. The house drink specials are very tasty, and keep with the general theme of fruit with everything. First the pro's We had the omakase and I was very surprised at not just the variety, but the quantity as well. Multiple times during the meal, we were expecting the main course to be next, especially after the 6th course, finally, my girlfriend looked over with a full look in her eyes, and I asked for the rest of the meal to go. Everything was excellent and flavorful, but as a veteran of multiple tasting menus on the island, the sheet quantity of delicious food was too much. The staff was very gracious with our surrender, and had the rest of the meal boxed up and ready to go very quickly. Now the cons No bread, fries instead, but I like bread. read more

Had the best ribeye steak ever, steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Ordered their signature dish, lobster pot pie, portion was big enough for 2, even 3 people. It was the best pot pie i've ever had. Service was excellent, our server was very attentive. We would visit Stripsteak again for sure. read more

Walked into the bar to get a pre-dinner cocktail around 520pm-ish on a Saturday night. Beautiful location and ambiance and was greeted promptly by the bartender with the menu. When the bartender saw I opened the menu to the Happy Hour page, he dug his phone out of his pocket to check the time and then walked away. He proceeded to act busy and ignore us for over 5-7 minutes until happy hour was over. Our stares to him for assistance went unrecognized. At this point we felt unwelcomed and made the decision to leave to patronize another business. We are both locals in the travel industry and will not be recommending Stripsteak Waikiki. There are plenty of other establishments that will appreciate your business and have excellent food and service. read more

Fantastic service, pretty much the best I've had. Loved the apps, and the complimentary fries that were by themselves awesome! I had the Hamachi and Sake Poke, Tuna Tartar, and the must get Instant Bacon. The tartar was ok, while visually striking with its deconstructed accoutrements of spices and nuts, came out to be a little bland compared to the "in your face vibrantly refreshing" tasting poke and the "unctuous nom nom nomy" Instant Bacon smoked at at your table. I swear they must sous vide the pork belly over night in sauce and crisp it right before service, it was so melt in your mouth soft and crispy at the same time. Main courses were pricey but good. I'm not sure the lobster pot pie was a $95 dish, it was fantastically tasty with that sauce that could make anything good, but not sure it was $95 worth... I would order it again for sure, just wish it was cheaper. The mash potato trio is a must, ultra creamy, crazy tasty, and surprisingly different tastes between the three. My dry aged NY Strip with the side truffle butter was, while very tasty and perfectly medium rare, I found was a little tough considering the hype up of "first choice of cuts" in the meat industry our waiter promoted. I am going to put in that I sous vide Costco USDA prime ribeys steaks at home so my perspective on steaks are high, not that it wasn't a great steak, just that I can make a truly awesome steak at home, so I would like a "first choice, 45 day dry aged, butter poached, $88" piece of steak to be better than what I can make. While we only had the Macciato and the Chilled Tiramisu for desert, I can't comment on other desserts on offer, but I loved their take on tiramisu. It was not as "mushy" as classical tiramisu and had a crunchy crust on the bottom, but it was definitely tiramisu and definitely tasty. I think the service staff from the hosts to the bussers were top notch in my experience, they took the restaurant up a level, everyone was so seamless and harmonious. I can't wait to try other items on my next visit! read more

My first time to this fancy place. Though the restaurant is called Stripsteak, they offered a pretty good variety of dishes besides just steak. On their menu, they had sushi, handrolls, fish, steak, and vegetarian sides and main dishes. Price wise, its easy to rack up $300 for two including tip. The service is outstanding. Staffs are very cautious about people waiting without food or drink on their table. They will consistently check up on us. I love the food and we totally enjoyed it. I had red Thai curry with shrimp and it was awesome. My only complain was the tiny portion of rice and it was submerged in the curry sauce. But I guess lesson learned. You probably can request to put the rice on a side. My favorite item was my cocktail. It's called Chameleon. The server brought the IICHIKO separately, then the blue chai tea mix with lavender tip she mixed it in front of me. At the end the drink became light purple.. kinda lavender I guess. The drink tasted lightly sweetened, very easy to drink. Ladies, highly recommended. Overall, I'm impressed with my first visit; I will absolutely come back. read more

Worst experience EVER. First of all we had reservations at 7:30. Didnt get seated till a little past 8. We ordered drinks. The waitress forgot to get mine... waited about 30 mins for the entree. My filet mignon was a medium to medium well. I asked for medium rare. Soft but dry. No flavor. My other half got a new york steak, his too was medium to medium rare when he asked for a medium rare. Our side dishes were delicious. The appetizer, ahi tartar was really good too. But our waitress rarely came to check on us. Our bill was crazy expensive. The steak wasnt worth the price. I will NEVER come back here again. Not will I EVER recommend this to anyone. read more

Stripsteak was "ok". I had high expectations considering it is in the International Market Place and I have eaten at the other restaurants there many times (great experiences until Saturday). Our food took longer than usual at a place like this (yes I understand it is not a fast food joint). I ordered the filet mignon, mac and cheese and the mushrooms. My wife had the scallops, green beans and lobster mashed potatoes. The filet mignon was at best warm, the mac and cheese was "ok" , and the green beans were cold. We asked the server to re-heat them. The server forgot about the mashed potatoes and finally after we asked about them they brought them out with the re-heated green beans. The server staff seemed overwhelmed. Each time they brought out a plate, they didn't know who ordered it and we played "pass the plate" amongst the three couples at the table. Finally, we ordered dessert and again, it took even longer to bring out the dessert! The good: I had two Old Fashions and they were great drinks. That's about it. Will not return. Sorry not sorry. ‍ read more

The chameleon drink a must!!! Really cool presentation...and ono! Got the Ohana menu that is served family style. The lobster tacos, Tokyo tots and steak are awesome. The spinach, not so much. Devils food cake for dessert topped off the meal quite nicely. Complimentary fries with 3 different dipping sauces were also a nice touch. Another nice touch was a personal, handwritten note for special occasions. read more

They earned this review not because of the food because it was amazing but because of one of their bartenders. Not only was I ignored most of the night by him, but he messed up my order and then tried to blame it on me! "M'am I asked you twice what you wanted" with my response of "yes and I told you what I wanted....." it's not like the bar was busy, this guy just didn't care. I would say never eat at the bar here, they treat you like trash, wait around for a table, the wait staff is awesome. read more

Our initial impression was awful. The host, a thin dark haired gal with tattoos (Marei or Mirei?), was so incredibly rude and dismissive that we considered leaving. Even the other host standing there seemed shocked by her behavior, looked at us and shrugged his shoulders. We decided to stay for our reservation and each ordered the chef's tasting menu so we could try a little of everything. All of the dishes were excellent except for the NY strip steak which surprised us. Cheers to the bartenders for making the best espresso martinis we've had. The service staff for the most part were very professional, friendly and attentive from the bussers and food runners to the nicer host and manager who checked in on us a couple times. Our server was just okay; very friendly at first but was visibly annoyed when we asked her to fix both of our drinks that she messed up on which was a bit awkward. For an upscale restaurant (we spent about $400 for two of us) the host's behavior was absolutely unacceptable and the server could have been better, but everyone else really picked up the slack and the food and ambiance were great so we'd consider giving Stripsteak another try. read more

Went to Stripsteak last night for a friends birthday with a party of 10. The service was decent for a large party - super friendly but a bit slow and some forgotten items and drinks. I did appreciate that all the main courses were served at once. I was disappointed with the food. For the quality of restaurant this claims to be, we asked if they tend to cook their steaks over or under what is asked and they said spot on. We ordered medium and it was way over cooked. Not really pink at all. Someone else at our table had to send theirs back it was so over cooked. I'm by no means a steak snob but for $60 I'd expect more. We also ordered the lobster pot pie. Also disappointing as the lobster was way over cooked too and so chewy it could barely be cut. The best thing we ordered was the green beans and small seafood tower. Probably won't be back! read more

What a fun upbeat restaurant! We had dinner there and every single thing we ate was delicious. The waiter was super professional and very knowledgeable. The bar looked like a fun place to sit also. This was an incredible dining experience! I finally got to try the famed Stripsteak at International Marketplace. I loved everything. The service was top notch. Our server had a great sense of humor and paced our meal out perfectly so we had tons of time to enjoy. We tried the caesar salad and instant bacon to start. Although the server warned about portions, I thought both were great and easy to share with a party of three. We moved on to share the ribeye and lobster pot pie. Unfortunately the ribeye was more well-done than medium, but hey, it was still so tender and delicious. We opted to try the chimichurri and foie gras butter accompaniments. Yummmmm to everything. The lobster pot pie was something everyone should live once. It's brought tableside, looking like a pot pie, then the take it apart in front of you to reveal two pounds of lobster! They are not short changing you a single bit, even if the dish is nearly $100. Although we were unbearably full, who can give up dessert? We went with our server's suggestion and had the mango cheesecake. It was served with fresh mango slices, which I thought was perfect after our rich, buttery dinner. One final thing, we asked for a bottle of wine, and a sommelier came to our table to give us his full recommendation. We all felt leaving super special. I would love to come back soon! read more

Don't make the mistake of thinking this place is worth it. It's completely over-priced for the value. We have no problem paying for places that are worth it like Gary Danko in San Francisco, Gaku on Oahu, etc... To top it all off, expect to pay $20 bucks for parking after validation! Hahahahaha pathetic. read more

The service was good, but I had the rib-eye steak (medium rare). No crust and the steak was chewy. Not worth the $60+ price in my opinion.

One of the best meals I have ever had! We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary at Stripsteak while visiting Hawaii. From the very beginning, the restaurant went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The service was top notch and all the food and drinks were consistently amazing. It's rare to find a restaurant that delivers on both high quality food and well-crafted cocktails, but Stripsteak did not disappoint. We had the seafood tower, which was definitely the star of the menu, to start. It was great and the ahi tartare in particular was spectacular. For dinner we had a ribeye, a filet, and truffle mac and cheese. The steaks were perfectly cooked to order and the mac and cheese was so rich and delicious I couldn't stop eating it. I highly recommend Stripsteak to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in a chic ambiance with great drinks. It's a little on the pricey side but definitely worth the splurge! read more

If you are ever in Honolulu and feel like treating yourself to what I can only describe as one of the best culinary experiences - then I recommend you dine at Stripsteak. From the moment one begins to approach the restaurant, their attention is grabbed by the simplistic but elegant decor of both the outside patio and inside seating. Boasting a modern and prestigious atmosphere, Stripsteak only further impresses by the creativity and uniqueness of the bar staff. I chose to sit at the bar and really got to interact with the bar tenders whom I ultimately asked to just make whatever cocktail they felt like serving me - and all I can say is they did not disappoint. The unique and flavorful cocktails were matched with one of the most succulent Ribeye's I have had in quite sometime. The manager was working near me and recommended getting the miso foie gras butter - I did not have the opportunity to thank him then, but I would like to take the time now. The miso foie gras butter complimented the tender and flavorful Ribeye in a way I cannot describe, enriching the flavor and even the texture of the steak. In all, Stripsteak was one of the finest dining experiences I have had in quite sometime, from the atmosphere, to the service, and to the drinks and food - everything was exceptional. read more

I finally got to try this place during Restaurant Week Honolulu after it had been sitting in my Yelp bookmark page for the longest time. My friends and I (party of 7) met here at 8:15 and were seated promptly. We all opted for the restaurant week menu and the wine pairing. Waters were attentively refilled and the food was really good. The complimentary duck fat fries, truffle mac and cheese, and the filet with black truffle butter were my favorite out of the entire restaurant week menu! The only complaints I have about this place is service and how uneven the wine pour was. We sat at 8:15 and did not leave the restaurant until about 11:15-11:30. Our server came and introduced himself and took our order and then just never came back again. They brought out our wine first and we noticed that all of the cups had different amounts in them. How do you not notice that the amounts are drastically different? The first course "instant bacon" took 1 hour to come out and that was an entire 30 minute after the wine pairing came out. By the time they finally brought it to our table, half of us were starving and the (supposed to be cold) wine was warm. The main course took another 45 minutes to bring out even though by this time the restaurant was already half empty, the dessert came out shortly after that, and the check took about 30 minutes (at this point there was only a few tables in the restaurant). By the end of our meal, we were just tired of waiting and wanted to go home. We asked the guy who ended up taking care of us after our server disappeared forever why it took so long for everything to come out and he said that the kitchen had not figured everything out yet since they are still pretty new so it was really messy back there. All in all, the food was great but they really need to work on service among other small things. Oh and I was also kind of disappointed that we didn't get the complimentary popcorn at the end of our meal that everyone else apparently got! :( read more

6/12/17 Re-visit for dinner. This time service was more attentive but, server didn't know the wine menu nor etiquette about wine. We ordered 2 glasses the Coravin style, "wine extracted by needle without opening the cork"..@$38/glass, ok should it not be done in front of you? That is the lure right? 1st mistake, but maybe they don't make it a show? Next we ordered 2 apps and our porterhouse for 2 to share. We wanted to order a bottle of wine, but our server knew nothing of the wine we were interested in 1999 Lebanese Chateau Musar...she called over the manager who made her comments and recommend... order in...ok food arrives but no wine...main course arrives and there is still no wine...oh finally it appears ... they decanted it... but there was so much sediment I believe they disturbed the bottle so much and poured it too fast in the decanter. The wine was great but was really distracted by the sediment floating around in all our glasses...appetizers were good, steak lovely, ... really this level of a restaurant really needs to get better quality servers...damage $640 for bad service...wow read more

Received an email about this place just before they opened. Service was awkward and inconsistent, probably due to the fact they had a mainland team that was training them. The service could have been overlooked had the food been impressing. Food wasn't anything spectacular, the vibe was a bit stuffy, and menu over-priced. Had the worst service this evening. It's our second time at this restaurant. We were here once before and had pretty good service. This time was quite different. Neither she or any of the managers came to see how our steak was cooked or if we needed anything else. The steaks were good, but we will not be coming back to this restaurant ever again.
