When evaluating my trees, they clearly explained which ones needed deadwood removal and which ones were fine at the time. They also had to remove one tree from my front yard, and they took the time to explain in detail why removal was necessary. I recently worked with Rodney, and he was great about discussing the details of the job and explaining his recommendations. He is obviously very knowledgeable about trees and clearly cares deeply about his work. I especially appreciated that he was there with the crew on the day they removed the deadwood and walked me through what they were doing. Of all the companies I contacted, Green Vista also seemed to have the most appropriate equipment for the job. Several other companies weren't confident they could get their lift into my backyard. Green Vista was able to do it, and they laid down appropriate tracking and ground protection to make sure there was no damage to my lawn. In one case, I found two dead branches that weren't visible from my side of the property. Rodney and the team came back quickly and took care of them, which I really appreciated. I know I'll be using Green Vista again in the future. Their pricing is excellent considering they have a certified arborist involved, and most importantly, they genuinely seem to care about the health of the trees rather than trying to upsell you. One of our dogs chased our one-eyed runt of a black cat (who cannot see very well out of the one eye she has) up a tree at dusk. She made it about 60 feet up? There was no reaching her and she was stuck. No, she would not have been able to climb down on her own. We assessed the situation thoroughly. Do not judge or assume. Anyway, I digress. Our friend got in touch with this company and they were willing to come out with their climbing gear. That night, in a little under two hours, they scooped the little girl up in a pillow case and we got her safely inside. As soon as that happened, my anger dissipated, and I could think clearly again. These guys were down to earth, friendly, funny, and all around decent human beings. They actually cared. They didn't scoff on the phone like the others. I messaged Mike through Yelp around 4:30pm on a Monday, heard back in about five minutes, sent him some photos, and had a full quote 30 minutes later. He also was coming out the next day to remove it. I couldn't believe my luck- especially because the quote was far more reasonable than any of the others I had received. Mike arrived when I was away from the home- all he asked was that I leave a parking spot open for him for his machinery. When I returned home, about two hours after his planned start time, the tree was gone, all remnants of it were completely gone, the sidewalk was completely swept and clean, and the mulch in my front yard had been raked around to incorporate the resulting sawdust, leaving me with a very simple finishing solution; I drove right past my house, went to the local nursery, bought a new plant and a bag of mulch and...
