It was conveniently located at ground level, no elevator needed and the large moving truck could pull right up to the facility for unloading. The facility is clean, air conditioned, required a code to get in, lots of security cameras so I felt safe even after hours. They sell locks, packing materials, have quality carts for your use, a clean restroom and water fountains. Plenty of room in the parking lot to navigate your vehicle and load / unload. Then they added a proof of insurance requirement that I complied with. Within a couple months they DOUBLED the storage rate and added $15 for insurance even though I had complied. When I moved out they required 59 days notice in order to charge for an additional month. My registered letter of move-out notice came back undeliverable. When I finally reached them via email they required a PHOTO of the empty spot. I had to drive 70 miles round trip to provide the photo I've enclosed.

It was an ambitious move but I needed to do it and Door to Door set up my storage needs for me. Well they gave me a date when my stuff would arrive and said that they would contact me or the storage facility would. The date came and went and still no word.. Finally I was able to get in contact with an agent through Door to Door to tell me where my stuff was he emailed me the info and I called the Hideaway. The first person I spoke with was Buck and he was so AMAZINGLY nice. He apologized profusely for not contacting me sooner and had said that Door to Door has sent incomplete information on my container I.E. no contact info. I know right? Incredible! I spoke with Buck and he went over the different options of what I could do with my stuff have it delivered etc. I opted for the cheapest way and just asked if I could come down and get it, it ended up saving myself like 450.00 doing this way then having it delivered which was fine with me, what was even more excellent he waived the storage fee. 55. bucks knocked off for storage cost because I had only had my stuff their for like two weeks. I told him I'd let him know as soon as I could when I was coming down there. Well things came up and I wasn't able to get down to Sarasota for a good month and half. All the while Buck, and a sweetheart named Ron were idly patient with me. I finally was able to get down there just this past weekend. Ron was so nice when I met him and so incredibly helpful. He made a way for us to move our 5X8 trailer inside the facility so we wouldn't have to move in the hot sun, and even lended us a hand moving my couch and sectional in the trailer. To top it all off they even waived the fee again for me even though they could have rightfully charged me. Hideaway storage in Sarasota was AMAZING. The customer service was outstanding and above and beyond in every way. I would recommend this company to ANYONE for storage needs, seriously so awesome, so nice and so willing to work with you. We rented 4 units, filled three of them with items to move where they came and picked them up and took them to the new house. We could then unload them at our leisure. (ok, moving is anything but leisure!) The fourth box we put decorations in and are using as a "Holiday" box. They will take it to their environmentally controlled storage facility and for a small fee, store it for the year. We call them and they deliver it at no additional charge. Great way to move!

My experience with another storage company: The storage unit I reserved 2 weeks ago (didn't require…read morea deposit) was $113 for a 10x20, and when I couldn't pay for it today (revealed reason was because they were closed for rentals and had no staff on) I was looking on the site to see the 10x15 the rep on the phone was telling me about because my 10x20 was magically not ACTUALLY reserved, and that same 10x20 unit was now $200 the day after a HUGE hurricane. Hmmmmmm. 2 week difference, a storage unit not like a flight, bus, or train ticket, After a storm where people may literally be losing their homes and trying to store what they could actually save, the price has jumped $87/mo? Don't ever use NSA storage. I was taken care of down the street at Extra Space Storage, and although they had to close today at 1pm sharp they stayed a few minutes extra so we could finish in the dark because they had no power the whole time. Much better experience, and the prices make much more sense. The rental process took only minutes, and the young lady I spoke to on the phone to make double sure I actually had a unit for the movers to unload into was so sweet! She was almost surprised I was asking if they were open lol It's a service, that woman was not from the location I went to but she has no idea how big of a panic attack she thwarted. Overall, very very very satisfied with this rental process, and super appreciative that they waited an additional 8 mins before locking up so we could jet out. They deserve praise! Hopefully they don't get in trouble for this act because I fly out to move 6 states away on Monday and didn't have any other options while movers were LITERALLY en route to my apt to load and this unit was a literal lifesaver as well as money saver
