I've been renting a unit from them since August 2020 and "YES" they do have you sign a contract. The rate increases that I have had over the last 29 months has been a total ripoff. I am paying more now then a person would if he or she would come in and rent a new unit the same size as mind. When confronting the management concerning the outrageous rate increase over the 29 month period I was told to simply "move out the unit and go get a family members to sign for a new unit." The management will lie and say its every 8 to 14 months but the increases are computer generated every 5 to 6 months. They get you by advertising the low rental unit prices. Then you are hit with those outrageous rate increases. That's where they make their money.

A big hangup with many of the storage providers in the area, was that customers are not provided dumpster access. Because I receive some pretty large deliveries to my storage unit, I end up compiling quite a bit of trash after sorting through an order. Loading my car up with broken down boxes and hunting down a public dumpster, does not seem very appealing to me, as shocking as that seems. So to be honest, CubeSmart was not my first choice. But because they offer the courtesy of dumpster use, they won me over! The only thing I wish I could change is to be granted 24/7 access, but I'll survive. This storage facility is definitely cleaner and more up to date, than my last one. I also love the fact that they were able to offer me a 1st floor unit right near the entrance. I never thought I could be so excited about a storage unit, but boy howdy, I'm pumped about CubeSmart!

Once they were done and we went to the new apartment (keep in mind was 3 minutes down the road) we got there and was told that my wife's real marble table that I specifically said please be careful fell over and broke. My wife and I are very understanding people as the guys felt bad and stuff happens. So they told how to file a claim and get our money back or they might even replace it. Filed the claim. Got an email that they were sorry and because of some insurance thing they offer it only goes by the weight of the item and even though that marble table was heavy they only gave us 70$ and a crappy apology. I told them that it was a 900$ table and got a "well that's how we do things here sorry not sorry response. Well after another year we needed to move from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom in the SAME apartment complex. So my wife and I being probably too nice of people said the guys were really good and we can't control the crappy management let's give them another chance. 2 more guys showed up. Went straight to work. Worked hard. I was keeping a close eye on them but obviously can't watch everything. Load up and drive 30 seconds over to the new building and they start unloading. Well they ended up breaking a nightstand, bed frame and stained the side of our couch. My wife ended up cleaning the side of the couch herself. We got a new nightstand and our bed frame is still cracked but holding up. The guys felt bad again and apologized but at this point my wife and I were just over it. No point to file a claim. We'd be lucky to get probably 20$. Stay away guys. Pay the extra 50-100$ and go with a quality company who cares about your stuff. We definitely will next time. We tried to save some money and it cost us in the end. Don't make the same mistake me made TWICE. My wife and I understand that you have to run a business and we weren't looking for 900$, but 70$ and half hearted apology is unacceptable.
