But even not being one that lives this way one can't not notice the rows and rows of single story (most common outside of cities) drive up access to aluminum roll up doors, metal walls and concrete floors only distinguishable by numbers or a lock. (That's why I only buy red locks) I think and wonder about the doors, what's behind them? Treasures or the death of the American Dream? I'm not here to pontificate along those speculative lines, just merely passing along a slice of random thought. Calling around to five self storage locations, I received quotes I found to be higher than I've ever paid for a smaller space in many states I've rented within. Now in Parrish FL since December, I've seen new communities spring up overnight as if they were dropped from outer space, it happens just that fast. So I ventured a bit out of this hotbed of building - looking in the local papers as the internet searches, a Craigslist advertisment caught my eye. Called, made an appointment, drive on over and signed up on the spot. The affore mentioned businesses were charging $100 plus two additional fees for a 5x5 totally around $120.00 a month. At All You Can Store, I got a 5x10 for $79.00. it's not 24 hours but I don't need that option and it's functional appropriate, never busy with other customers. A husband and wife team that were so friendly to me, they made my transaction a success and I highly recommend them.

It was conveniently located at ground level, no elevator needed and the large moving truck could pull right up to the facility for unloading. The facility is clean, air conditioned, required a code to get in, lots of security cameras so I felt safe even after hours. They sell locks, packing materials, have quality carts for your use, a clean restroom and water fountains. Plenty of room in the parking lot to navigate your vehicle and load / unload. As is the case with many residents in Florida, I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income. The most recent increase was almost $100 a month. An additional almost $6k a year is absurd. It's not about having dedicated and responsible customers, it's about charging a maximum amount to increase the bottom line. I'm sure there are many present customers who are challenged with paying almost $250 a month. I'm also confident that there are many former customers due to costs.
