Sharon (Manager) SAID NO ONE TAKES BEDS AND THERE IS A 350.00 DUMPING FEE. She wanted me to sign abandoned paperwork on the unit. Guess what I found a Charity and they came and took everything on 5/19. My billing went from 5/15-6/14, and they charged me my monthly rate of 158.00.(3 days) Over 3 years Big Jims has made a small fortune off of us $5688.00. but still took their 158.00. My $2500 kayak hull was stolen from the kayak rack. The storage facility only keeps 2 weeks of…read moresurveillance footage so there was no record of the theft when I discovered it was missing. This IS NOT a safe place to keep a kayak. It appears that the thieves pulled up on the back road and pushed down the barbed wire, climbed over the fence, broke the lock that was securing the kayak with a cable and stole it. The contract with the storage facility states that they "cannot" be held responsible for any theft. Having only two weeks surveillance records is terrible in my opinion. No one rents space in a storage place and comes to check on there stuff within a two week period. This is a VERY UNSAFE place to store a kayak. Additionally, the "one" surveillance camera over looking the kayaks is in a terrible place, one kayak rack full of kayaks totally blocks the view of the one I had my kayak on. Even if they had gotten footage of the theft, there's now way the video would have revealed any decent recordings of the theft. The management is good, people are very nice, but I'll never have a kayak there ever again.

It was conveniently located at ground level, no elevator needed and the large moving truck could pull right up to the facility for unloading. The facility is clean, air conditioned, required a code to get in, lots of security cameras so I felt safe even after hours. They sell locks, packing materials, have quality carts for your use, a clean restroom and water fountains. Plenty of room in the parking lot to navigate your vehicle and load / unload.
