This company has made the wildly irresponsible decision to go all-in on smartphones. You need a Bluetooth app on your smartphone in order to get into your storage unit. There are no locks, no keys, no gate codes, and no options for you if your phone is broken/dead/lost or anything other than the most up-to-date, overpriced Apple brick. When will you guys learn that "high tech" is no more safe than a fence and some padlocks? Phones and smart technology glitch, go down for maintenance, shut down and break all the time, and these solutions are often much more expensive and easily manipulated than the perfectly good setups at other storage facilities --- things you don't need a particular phone, or data, or apps to use. Don't let this place bamboozle you into paying for unnecessary smart technology that enriches some nameless CEO. We needed a storage unit for some of our items as we were planning on a move for my husband's job that would not allow us to take a lot of things. We chose Storelocal based off the reviews and they did not disappoint! When we first walked in, we were greeted by Rochelle the manager. She was very helpful in getting us all of the information we needed and showing us units she thought would best suit us. We opted for a slightly larger one and ended up being able to store more than we originally planned. I think pricing is more than fair and I love that everything is controlled by your phone, and that it is drive up access. The facility is easy to access and kept very clean. I have two storage units here. When they updated my payment information, they only updated one of the units and as a result charged me late fees when they payment only processed for one unit. I addressed this with a manager, Merle, who said he spoke with corporate and the fees would be waived. He requested that i fill out a form. I told him the date I could have the form returned and he stated that would be no issue. He stated that without the form, he could not take a payment. I now have lien fees AND late fees. The time he allotted to have the document returned. I have requested a call from an offsite manager. I have received no response. I will update this review if keylock remedies their internal errors of failure to update payment information that was previously given and removes fees that were previously promised to be waived. read more

Even if you rent online, you need to go in and re-do everything in-person. Terrible experience. I want my money back! I haven't even been able to enter the locker. My possessions were ruined by a water leak while stored here. I used their insurance to cover my items, and was denied compensation. There was also a leak in another unit close to mine. Go elsewhere, if you want to keep your possessions safe. read more

Terrible customer service and lack of honesty as far as I can tell. Was told they would open on 6/1/18 and were almost fully booked so I reserved a unit. 6/1/18 came with no updates so I called them (goes to an office in Idaho, no one is on site in Reno yet) and was told 6/6/18 was the opening date I could count on. That date passed and I called again, the lady in Idaho had no idea what was happening in Reno and said a supervisor would call back with update. No call back at all so I chose another storage site in the area. If their marketing was honest when I signed up and they were almost fully booked I can't imagine those customers counting on an opening date that is almost 2 weeks late. Extremely poor business ethics and I feel bad for everyone that has to wait until Keylock gets the doors open. read more

Only 1 star because I have to. I called and set up an appointment to rent a locker for an upcoming move and when I arrived no one was there. I flew across the country to be stood up for an expensive storage facility. Three phone calls, two emails and an hour an a half later, I rented elsewhere. These people suck!! read more

I would give them a zero if possible. I rented an outside storage space for my camper. I was told by Alexandria that I could leave my car in any unnumbered space. I questioned that they had unnumbered spaces and she said yes they did. I took the van out for a week and left my car nearby in an unnumbered space. I returned to find that they had towed my car. Rochelle, who says she is the manager will not take any responsibility for her employee mis-informing me. She will not give me the name or contact information for anyone above her in management. She will not give me her last name or Alexandria's. She will not tell me how long Alexandria has been working there. She says that I should have gotten this "in writing." I had no reason to get this in writing as I had no reason to doubt her. If Alexandria had told me that there was a time limit on leaving my car in an unnumbered space I would not have done it. Now I'm out over $400 because of one of their employees and all I get from Rochelle is stonewalling silence. Who, what and where is the real management for this company and how do I reach them? Next step small claims court. Also, communication upfront was as bad as the other reviews say but I would have overlooked that if not for this experience. read more

Forget this place. Updating my review as they officially have the worst customer service ever. There excuse is always that they will take your challenge to corporate and nothing is resolved. They have an answering service that does not work or get your messages to them so that they can charge you a $20 late fee that is not even in your contract. Don't know where to begin. I've been with Keylock for nearly 3 yrs, but lately access to on-site support falls way short from what it use to be. Number posted on Windows reflect to call number for assistance or appointment and are touted to an answering device that's not set up and in my opinion ineffectual for consumers. It took two days to learn customers who lose a key would be charged $40; I remind you I've been with them for 3 yrs. Luckily, family business arrived onsite to cut lock for me - it took 2 secs. I have been storing an RV here for 9 months. Over the past 5 months, each time I go to get our RV I have not been able to gain access, nor get in touch with the company until business hours. I must wait until they open then go there in person. They then fix it so I can get in without ever asking for ID. Each time they find that someone else has been given access in my place. Fortunately nothing has been taken from my vehicle - yet. If I had another choice I would remove the vehicle from this place. Soon I will. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. By far the most unprofessional staff I've ever seen in my life. Not to mention they false advertise. I rented a unit in March during a "first month $1" promotion. That NEVER happened. You're supposed to get a prorated rate the first month then the first full rent is $1. This is so false. I've called their office multiple times, I'd say maybe 15-20?? Ive spoken to the manager twice and he's never lifted a finger to solve our easy problem. They have a call center to take their calls if they don't answer and then the call center doesn't forward any messages. Pretty much if you need to contact anyone, it won't happen unless you go down there. Also, the lady at the desk swears like a sailor and throws dirt on her manager in front of customers. Also unprofessional. The units are nice but you'd better hope you never have an issue because then you're screwed. They could care less about their customers. This place is garbage and the employees and manager need to retake life skills so they know how to deal with people. YOU GUYS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely pathetic. This is why you all work at a storage unit center, you have no customer service skills whatsoever. It shows. This is false advertisement and it's actually illegal. Terrible business. Incompetent staff took hours to let me into my unit. I've heard of other tenants waiting hours outside of the bizarre automatic door system which no one was there to fix. Worst of all, they charged me for a second month even though I filled out their "intent to vacate" form weeks ago. The manager explained this theft by making up technicalities while I held the paperwork and pointed out where it didn't say she was allowed to do that. Also, there is no elevator to the second floor and they never even asked if I wanted to be on the first floor. I had to haul a couch up and down a flight of stairs. read more

If i could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. I never usually write reviews unless it's 100% necessary. This place on all levels is a horrible business run by a horrible management. I never had issues with this place just until recently when I got my mother in law her own unit and trying to get ahold of ANYONE was impossible then they lie to you, tell you they will call you back and never do. Oh and their roof leaked on a ton of units so stay cautious about that. If I were you I would definitely try to find another unit. read more

This is a nice facility but no one seems to know what they are doing. Employees don't stay long enough. Since I have rented a storage unit in November 2018 I have had nothing but issues with the billing. What is really frustrating is you can't talk to corporate who deals with billing. You have to deal with the employees at the location who has no say and have no idea what is going on because they are new. I rented in the middle of November and I was charge for 2 storage unit because the lady who helped me screwed up and accidentally put me in a 10x20 and which should of been a 10x15. She fixed it and I got the right unit but then I got billed for 2 units. When I noticed my credit card being charge for 2 units I told her about it and she said she will call corporate to fix it. Corporate refund the wrong unit. They refund the 10x15 which. I have the 10x15. I don't have a 10x20 and they should of refunded that. I called and told the lady they refunded the wrong unit. She said she would have corporate take care of it. It was never taken care of and then she quit and I was left dealing with the manager. Then in December I should of had a promotion. I'm still waiting for them to fix November now they have to fix December because they didn't give me the promotion. The manager told me she was leaving but before she leaves she will fix it. So in the middle of December on her last day she left a message which I still have saying she fixed it and that I have a credit in my account and my promotion month has been moved to January. Will this is beginning of February I have no credit and still dealing with this and now I have a late charge because the new people have no idea what is going on and have to research and wait for corporate but in the meantime while I'm waiting for a resolution they charge me a late fee for February. I'm dealing with new people up front in the office and a new manager and he have not a clue what happen so when I try to explain to the new manager he doesn't want to hear any of it. But it is my fault that they have to research and didn't get back to me in time and still I have no credit. I have decided to pay the late fee and I will be looking for a new place to rent. It all has been too stressful. I'm not blaming the new people but I don't like that I can not talk to someone in charge. And the new manager is not very accommodating or understanding of my situation which I feel I have done no wrong. Still no credit now I got charge a late fee on top. I was a customer for over 2 yrs. I was one of their first customer in the inside storage when they first opened and met all the CEO and upper management when they came out for a site visit. I had trouble with the app and had to sit their for 6-7 hrs one day to get it to work with their computer/customer support. The inside garage storage was so dirty I had brought my blower and broom from home and cleaned out the entire garage for them. One time I came in and the entire place was unlocked so I called the night operator to update them of the concerns and to make sure everyone things were protected and locked up. On a day when we were going on vacation I was enquiring about the moveout policy and procedure and was planning on moving out since we were selling our RV. I was told by the employee that if I moved out today I wouldn't get charged the next months rent. So we changed our travel plans missed a day of vacation (which I don't get many days off) completed all the move out procedure and papers. It was 3 days before the next billing cycle. They have a 5 day advance notice policy which I was aware and remember reading but the employee assured me that I would not get billed the next months rent. It was a horrible winter and would of loved to use the storage for that additional month if I knew they were not going to do what they had told me. After calling for 4 months 3 times a week I never ever got a call back from any Keylock Storage personal and multiple times demanding to speak with someone just someone that could explain this to me. The only reason a kept calling for so long is I felt they were so wrong. If the employee told me that I had to give a 5 day notice and I just missed it I would of been okay with that and would of gone on vacation and I would of used the storage for the additional month and understood that was the policy. I felt at least a prorated 2 additional days was a good compromise especially since their employee was in the fault. This is my first ever Yelp reviewed and needed to share my experience. read more
