All units seem to be drive up units, perfect for those in need of storage with a disability (ADA compliant). There is an office if you would like to speak to someone during office hours. We have not had an issue with anything thus far in terms of payment, communication and storage in general. The facility is fully fenced in with a cinderblock wall about 8-9 ft tall (maybe taller) and a security gate, of which they give you a specific code to enter. I've stored my rather popular and colorful Burning Man RV here for a while. I have been the victim of rather extensive identity theft and having problems with online payment and fraud. This year a friend told me they would cover the storage fee and apparently did not. I was told a day or two ago by phone i needed to pay. I tried logging into their website to do so but for whatever reason i can't and i'm now being told i have to come to Nevada and pay locally by like Cash or something. I could mail a cashiers check overnight but they're refusing to cooperate and for some unknown reason claim they will auction my RV. Like... seriously? Is there some conspiracy to harass me right now? Even law enforcement locally don't want to do their jobs and cooperate. All my computers and phones are obviously infected. read more

The law in Nevada is 10 days before you can lock the unit. I brought this to the manager's attention as well as Shield Storage management and received it nothing in response. I've been there for almost three years and was only late once before. Customer service was great & their hours are also good. I had 100 questions- it's been years since I needed a storage unit- and she was kind enough to answer everything & make copies of everything for me. If I could give them a minus 0 I would when the business was bought out the new management became extremely greedy raise rents aggressively also changed the terms that they no longer pro-rate days. So if you give them notice that you're moving out and you're not out before the 1st they charge you for a whole month. Even if you only had 9 days into the month. I had been a long time renter and upon talking to other people they too were moving out due to the continuous rate increases. I went online and reserved a 32 ft trailer space. It had a move in special of half off the first two months rent, at a rate of $80 per month. I showed up to Vista Park on the move in date and I was told there was no record of my reservation or the half off special. Haden told me not to worry, he would reserve me a spot anyway. He said to come back, since I didn't have the necessary registration papers at that time. I came back a few days later and the same man said he still had no reservation for me and no available spaces! He referred me to Desert Highlands since it was a sister company. The young man at Desert Highlands said he had no 30ft spaces but did have 40ft spot for $100 per month, still honoring the half off special. I was quoted $160 for the first two months, which included the admin fees. I did not have the trailer with me after my experience at Vista Park. I was told to come back on Monday, Memorial Day with the trailer. Again being hesitant because of the poor service so far, I called first and was told once again that I had no reservation and that the $160 was not valid. Alana apologizes and said she'd talk to Emily Casey, the manager who sent the email and also the district manager. I sent her a copy of my confirmation email. Emily said she had no knowledge of the email. Alana called back on Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day to inform me I could have a 30ft space at full price, no discounts. She asked if I'd like to speak to the District Manager myself. I said if he saw the email and confirmation and still refused to do anything for me I'd be wasting my time. I will be reporting this company to the BBB for their fraudulent business practices. By the way, I asked Alana if this kind of thing happened frequently and she confirmed that it did, blaming the 3rd party they use to get renters. Update as of 12-21-2020 So in order for me to get my stuff out I paid. They never removed their insurance policy even after having Statefarm send them a certificate that I was covered. They couldn't supply me with a 10 day notice form that I was giving my 10 day required notice. So I had to hand wrote it and the property manager refused to print and sign his name. I asked for my original rental agreement and the increase of rent letters they say they sent. They told me they didn't have that either. Shady business and the property manager on site never returned my calls and continuously told me he was waiting on corporate to get back to him. I started all this on Dec 4th. Over 20 calls were placed in 15 days and they never answered. You would think 2 weeks would be plenty of time for corporate to get back to him. UPDATE AGAIN!!! Still waiting for my deposit of $50 back!!! Said it would take 5 days!! It's been 17 days!!! Crooked business!! read more

This is the worst storage facility I have ever used. I rented a unit in August 2020 and at the time opted for the optional $21 insurance coverage since I was not sure if my homeowners insurance covered storage units. Also, I asked the on-site person I rented the unit from to sign me up for autopay. He said I could do,it online as he could not do it. I thought I successfully signed up for autopay online. But at the end of September I received an email indicating my account was overdue. I called the office and spoke to Hayden. He advised me the website had been experiencing problems the last few months. I gave him my payment info and asked him to set me up for autopay which he did. I also asked for refund of the late fees since the website was experiencing problems and I did not receive any contact from them until my payment was overdue. He said he would contact corporate. At the beginning of October I provide a copy of my homeowners policy and declaration showing the storage unit was covered under my policy, and asked for the $21 insurance fee to be canceled. The on-site person indicated they would. At the end of October, my bill still had the insurance fee attached. I called and spoke to Hayden again. He indicated the fee was not removed because Vista Park Storage was not listed on the policy. Per the contract, it does not indicate they are required to be listed. I asked for a refund for those fees and the late fee again from earlier. He said he would contact corporate again and get back to me that day. After a week, he had not contacted me. I sought a new storage unit. I typed up a termination letter for my storage unit and presented it to Hayden with a termination date of 11/23/2020, two days prior to the next billing date. Hayden also had me sign a move out form from Vista Park Storage. On 12/08/2020, I received an email my account was past due. It is obvious this facility is mismanaged and does not value their customers. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for overcharging and breach of contract. I am still awaiting a response. I would not recommend this facility as they will try to nickel and dime you and refuse to rectify their wrongdoing. read more

Made a reservation over the phone, being told I would receive a confirmation email and follow-up phone call. Was given the actual office phone # "in case" I didn't hear back from that office. Never got the email or phone call. Tried numerous times that day, and following morning, to call and the phone just rang and rang.. no voicemail, no nothing. Called back the online # I'd started with and told "Oscar" my situation. Oscar tried calling the office # and indeed confirmed that there was no answer and no voicemail, which he pointed out was very strange. The person who originally made my reservation was either stoned, or illiterate, as he'd gotten my email wrong, and had not made the reservation, anyway. Oscar took very good care of me, and suggested I drive to the office on Vista to see if anyone was there. So, a very young man/boy was in the office and seemed somewhat defensive when I commented that I'd called that office numerous times yesterday and today. Interesting. I FINALLY secured my 5x10 unit, which, buyer's BEWARE, actually only has 4 1/2 x 9 feet of storage space. A little shaving here and there might be expected but, 6 inches by 1 foot is quite a bit of lost storage space! For their prices being higher than the average for this area, I would think they would be more professional and more honest about actual storage footage. Other facilities closer to me were full, so Vista Park was my next choice. I am less than impressed.. read more
